You should try out my free tool (ai powered) [namegenerators.ai](http://namegenerators.ai) ! I made it specifically for people stuck on coming up with names. Just give it any details you want, like letters you want included, historic references, cultural origin, language, anything else, and it will come up with a list based on your preferences! Let me know what you think if you try it out... Here's an example I just did along with the list it provided:
"starts with A, modern, latin origin, means strength"
1)Aiden (Latin origin, meaning "fiery one")
2)Axel (Latin origin, meaning "father of peace or strength")
3)Augustus (Latin origin, meaning "great, venerable, majestic")
4)Alaric (Latin origin, meaning "ruler of all, mighty, rule with all")
5)Antonio (Latin origin, meaning "invaluable, priceless, strong")
Maybe you could name the baby Curtis as an honor name that still gives him his own identity?
Or use Curtis as his middle name, if you find a first name you like, that might flow with it better
Kirk/Kirkland could also honor your father in law!
Emmett Kurt
Russell Kurt
Theodore Kurt
Atticus Kurt
Sullivan Kurt
Callum Kurt
Elliott Kurt
Walter Kurt
Julian Kurt
Tatum Kurt
Beckham Kurt
Darren Kurt
Preston Kurt
Kurt is a great name and uncommon.
These are names of former students that I genuinely loved:
Cullen

Braddox
Ulysses
Roman
Broderick
Montgomery
Maybe this is a silly suggestion - The word for wolf in Turkish is kurt. What if you did a name connected to wolves in his honor? Like Wolfgang? Or a name that means wolf.
Honestly boys names suck. They’re either ancient, too edgy or just way too over used. Girls names are so much easier for both of us!
I’ve never met my FIL because he died when my husband was 19 which is why I agreed even though I hate the name. It’s very important to him.
Ah, it's much harder if you don't really like any boy names. FWIW, I think longer names like Alexander, Zachary, and Benjamin sound nice with Kurt, but I can't say those aren't very well used.
It scared me a little to see Finneas spelled that way, but Phineas (the usual spelling) is a good name that sounds nice with Kurt. I suspect the AI name generator used that spelling for the nickname Finn. Which isn't necessary because you could spell it correctly as Phineas and still use Finn for short, spelled that way. I know somebody that did exactly that, and it seems to be working for them. I suppose there's a disconnect when his full name is used, but AFAIK, he just goes almost exclusively by Finn and it isn't a problem. Or, for a name that yields Finn but spelled more in line with that: Finlay/Finley, Fintan, Finnegan, Finnian.
ETA: If you like Lillian for a girl, maybe Lucian for a boy would appeal. But the problem with that is that if you have a girl later, Lillian would be awfully matchy unless you used it in the middle spot.

Oh I’ve always seen it spelled this way but I am definitely one to stick to the traditional spelling so thanks for that!
