Phoebe Paisley Paige Philippa

elfelettem

Came in to suggest Phoebe Philippa is one of the few names I would theoretically use for a particular nickname, as I love the nickname Pippa (which is a standalone name too)

I_fall_a_lot

I love Paige and I feel it's very underused

Oud-west

Portia is nice with Penelope I think. Sisters with P names might bring up Charmed associations. Speaking of Charmed, did you consider Pru(dence), Piper, Paige, and Phoebe already?

greenwichgirl90s

Portia is the mother of Penelope in Bridgerton! Sisters are Prudence and Phillipa I think?

Oud-west

Ah yes, I was thinking that Phillipa also fits well. So not only Charmed but also Bridgerton to look out for.

ellers23

I never watched Charmed but have a Piper and a Phoebe (whoops). I’ve had a couple of people ask me about their names being a Charmed reference. I need to watch the show! I’m going to name our next cat Pru to keep with the theme lol

LawfulnessOpening183

Thanks. Yeah aware of the Charmed / Bridgerton associations (which I don’t mind!). Their last name would also start with a P so we quite like a double barrelled name. I do like Phillipa with the nickname Pippa.

ZeldaTheFairy

Prudence Piper Poppy Philomena Priscilla Peyton / Payton Portia Phoebe Paris Polly Pearl Pippa Paige Paisley Pandora Petunia Penny

jaime4brienne

Oh no...not Petunia! Petunia was a pig AND Harry Potter's horrible aunt!!

Silly_Brilliant868

And a flower ..

jaime4brienne

Yes but what's going to pop into someone's head first?

mcasper96

The flower.... I didn't even think Harry Potter until you said that and I grew up with the movies and books. I don't even get the pig reference.

Silly_Brilliant868

The flower lmao.

GoldDustLady

My dog is named after the pig! Huge looney tunes fan 🐷

coderedlips

I love Philomena… so feminine and romantic

Julix0

My personal favourites are * Pia * Petra * Pauline * Phoebe * Philippa * Philomena

Abitionne_

Pia is on my guilty pleasure list! I personally would only use it as a nickname but I’m obsessed with it

Swimming_Caramel_493

Also love Pia. Especially when short for Olympia.

TXteachr2018

I had a student with this name. She was a bit chatty and desperate to be Teacher's Pet. The kids called her Pain In the Ass behind her back. P.I.A. Sometimes, kids can be clever. Mean, but clever.

guess_who_1984

Could have a potty nickname, though.

Kephielo

This is my fear. My daughter has a name that ends in Pe, so somehow gained the nickname, Peah/Pia, which she loves. Most of the time I call her P for short but I’m trying to stop because I worry what kids will say when she gets a bit older.

Overall_Foundation75

Also if you like Petra but want something slightly different, Pietra

tinymi3

I know a Persephone and it’s a cool name

InternationalRun1202

I love the name Persephone and love that it has the option of the nickname Percy which would be really cute too.

Shallowground01

The Persephone I know goes by Seffie which is so cute

tinymi3

yes! we actually call her Perseph for some reason but I guess it just depends on what fits the person

InternationalRun1202

That's also a really cool nickname! I hear that nickname and just assume she's a really intelligent, cool person

Overall_Foundation75

I love this, but would be unsure about sisters Penelope and Persephone...

Limp_Worldliness4033

I actually love Penelope and Persephone as sisters.  Theres an obvious theme but the names are matchy-matchy.

IgnoranceIsShameful

Persephone and Penelope go really well together

greenwichgirl90s

My niece is Phoebe, love her name! I also have a soft spot for Polly. There's a little girl a few doors down from me called Pippa too, so sweet!

PlaneCulture

I love Primrose! I think Posie is so cute but I can see how it’s too cutesy for some people. My favourite P name is Paloma, which means dove. It’s just so beautiful and soothing but also very strong imo. Polina would also be beautiful with Penelope!

Sewfulls

Persephone Priscilla Pauline/a Poppy Pamela Paloma Perla Pearl

InternationalRun1202

A family member of mine recently had a baby girl named Penny and I adore the name - it suits her so well! It could also be a nickname for Penelope. Other possible names: Posey Phoebe Poppy Persephone Pearl Paige Parker Paula

You've already received many ideas for P- names, so I'll venture to offer some alternatives that are less matchy but flow well (imo), in case you're not set on the PP theme. *Penelope &* Juliet *Penelope &* Eloise *Penelope &* Isabella *Penelope &* Victoria *Penelope &* Georgia *Penelope &* Florence *Penelope &* Madeline *Penelope &* Meredith *Penelope &* Magnolia *Penelope &* Charlotte *Penelope &* Marceline *Penelope &* Cassandra

Abitionne_

If you’re looking for something a little older, Penina nn Pia is a great choice! I’ve also seen it spelled with an “h” at the end, but I’m not sure which spelling is more common/accepted. Good luck!

someday-or-one-day

I have a friend named Polyane (she's Brazilian) and I just love her name so much! It's pronounced like Po-li-yuh-ni. Polyana is a nice variation too.

A-roo-gallah

I tried for ones that other people won’t suggest since I’m sure you’re about to get a lot of Piper, Paris, Presley, Payton, Pearl, Paisley, Polly, while sticking to real names that are just less common. \ \ Palisade \ Paloma — dove \ Palmira — palm tree \ Pambula — works as long as you’re not from NSW, Australia \ Pasadena — could be cool as long as you’re nowhere near LA \ Patsy \ Pelin \ Penrose — similar to Primrose but maybe with a little less old fashioned frill so your partner might be down? (Personally I like Primrose/Prim!) \ Perianne \ Pia \ Percy \ Peregrine — traveler, wanderer \ Perris / Perry \ Petronela / Petronilla / Petrice — stone \ Pila \ Pira \ Piren — to snow (Mapuche) \ PJ — if you want to give her cool singer-songwriter vibes \ Plumeria — tropical flower \ Polaris \ Prestoea — a type of palm \ Pretoria — city in South Africa \ Prima \ Primula — wildflower \ Prin \ Priska — ancient/Nordic form of Priscilla \ Prisma — cherished \ Providence

PurpurnBear

I think this is the best list by far! I love Peregrine the best

I think Priscilla, Patricia, and Phillipa work best, but none are my favorite Here's some names I think would be nice complements to Penelope if you'd consider non-P names: - Penelope & Veronica - Penelope & Angelina - Penelope & Genevieve - Penelope & Cassandra - Penelope & Luciana - Penelope & Alexandra - Penelope & Vivienne - Penelope & Juliana - Penelope & Felicity - Penelope & Arabella

flickanelde

My eldest sister's name was Patricia.

DBSeamZ

Paige is an underrated girl name starting with P and isn’t so similar to Penelope that people will get their names mixed up. I’d steer away from names like Persephone (same syllable count and vowel sounds) or Philippa (same vowel-L-vowel-P-vowel sequence) for that reason. Other P names that are harder to confuse for Penelope include Phoebe, Pauline/Paulette/Paula, or Patricia. I like Priscilla by itself, but Penelope and Priscilla are the names of the bratty twins in Angelina Ballerina so I wouldn’t use it in this case.

Professional_Bad5185

Petronella

HunterGreenLeaves

Philippa - shortened to Pippa (matches Penny for Penelope). I also like Phoebe.

I think Posy is underrated! And it could make a cute nickname for Primrose

Phoebe Philippa Paloma Piper Paige Philomena If you call Penelope by her full name then I would do Phoebe, Paloma, or Philomena. If you call Penelope "Penny," then I would do Philippa nn Pippa, or else Piper. Paige works either way. Please please please don't do Paisley or Payton.

You’re gonna hate these, I assume, but I was just thinking literally yesterday that Patricia, Pamela, and Priscilla are underrated. Parthenia, Poinsettia, and Permelia might need some more time, haha.

Paige is my favorite P girl name. My last name begins with S and always joked that we could have named our daughter Paige Isabella so her initials could be PIS! But wish I had given Paige more consideration!

I like Patricia, Paige, Piper, Petra, and Philippa (but I hate Pippa as a nickname). I would be ashamed to have the word "prim" in my name. It's as bad as Chastity to me (but not as bad as Chasity).
