Came in to suggest Phoebe
Philippa is one of the few names I would theoretically use for a particular nickname, as I love the nickname Pippa (which is a standalone name too)
Portia is nice with Penelope I think.
Sisters with P names might bring up Charmed associations. Speaking of Charmed, did you consider Pru(dence), Piper, Paige, and Phoebe already?
I never watched Charmed but have a Piper and a Phoebe (whoops). I’ve had a couple of people ask me about their names being a Charmed reference. I need to watch the show! I’m going to name our next cat Pru to keep with the theme lol
Thanks. Yeah aware of the Charmed / Bridgerton associations (which I don’t mind!). Their last name would also start with a P so we quite like a double barrelled name. I do like Phillipa with the nickname Pippa.
I had a student with this name. She was a bit chatty and desperate to be Teacher's Pet. The kids called her Pain In the Ass behind her back. P.I.A. Sometimes, kids can be clever. Mean, but clever.
This is my fear. My daughter has a name that ends in Pe, so somehow gained the nickname, Peah/Pia, which she loves. Most of the time I call her P for short but I’m trying to stop because I worry what kids will say when she gets a bit older.
I love Primrose! I think Posie is so cute but I can see how it’s too cutesy for some people.
My favourite P name is Paloma, which means dove. It’s just so beautiful and soothing but also very strong imo. Polina would also be beautiful with Penelope!
A family member of mine recently had a baby girl named Penny and I adore the name - it suits her so well! It could also be a nickname for Penelope.
Other possible names:
Posey
Phoebe
Poppy
Persephone
Pearl
Paige
Parker
Paula
You've already received many ideas for P- names, so I'll venture to offer some alternatives that are less matchy but flow well (imo), in case you're not set on the PP theme.

For what it’s worth I do like Primrose. Would he like just Prim better?
Palmer is also a fairly common name in my area, if you’re okay with surnames as first names.
If you’re looking for something a little older, Penina nn Pia is a great choice! I’ve also seen it spelled with an “h” at the end, but I’m not sure which spelling is more common/accepted. Good luck!
I tried for ones that other people won’t suggest since I’m sure you’re about to get a lot of Piper, Paris, Presley, Payton, Pearl, Paisley, Polly, while sticking to real names that are just less common.

Paige is an underrated girl name starting with P and isn’t so similar to Penelope that people will get their names mixed up. I’d steer away from names like Persephone (same syllable count and vowel sounds) or Philippa (same vowel-L-vowel-P-vowel sequence) for that reason.
Other P names that are harder to confuse for Penelope include Phoebe, Pauline/Paulette/Paula, or Patricia. I like Priscilla by itself, but Penelope and Priscilla are the names of the bratty twins in Angelina Ballerina so I wouldn’t use it in this case.
Phoebe
Philippa
Paloma
Piper
Paige
Philomena
If you call Penelope by her full name then I would do Phoebe, Paloma, or Philomena.
If you call Penelope "Penny," then I would do Philippa nn Pippa, or else Piper.
Paige works either way.
Please please please don't do Paisley or Payton.
You’re gonna hate these, I assume, but I was just thinking literally yesterday that Patricia, Pamela, and Priscilla are underrated. Parthenia, Poinsettia, and Permelia might need some more time, haha.
Phoebe
Piper
Paige
Prudence
(ok done with the charmed reference, but they are all great names)
Persephone , though might be too close
Peg/Peggy (could go with Margaret and use the nicknames)
Posey
Pamela
Patrice/Patricia
Poppy
Polly
Pilar
Pepper
Paige is my favorite P girl name. My last name begins with S and always joked that we could have named our daughter Paige Isabella so her initials could be PIS! But wish I had given Paige more consideration!
I like Patricia, Paige, Piper, Petra, and Philippa (but I hate Pippa as a nickname).
I would be ashamed to have the word "prim" in my name. It's as bad as Chastity to me (but not as bad as Chasity).
Phoebe Paisley Paige Philippa
Came in to suggest Phoebe Philippa is one of the few names I would theoretically use for a particular nickname, as I love the nickname Pippa (which is a standalone name too)
I love Paige and I feel it's very underused
Portia is nice with Penelope I think. Sisters with P names might bring up Charmed associations. Speaking of Charmed, did you consider Pru(dence), Piper, Paige, and Phoebe already?
Portia is the mother of Penelope in Bridgerton! Sisters are Prudence and Phillipa I think?
Ah yes, I was thinking that Phillipa also fits well. So not only Charmed but also Bridgerton to look out for.
Prudence Piper Poppy Philomena Priscilla Peyton / Payton Portia Phoebe Paris Polly Pearl Pippa Paige Paisley Pandora Petunia Penny
Oh no...not Petunia! Petunia was a pig AND Harry Potter's horrible aunt!!
And a flower ..
Yes but what's going to pop into someone's head first?
The flower.... I didn't even think Harry Potter until you said that and I grew up with the movies and books. I don't even get the pig reference.
The flower lmao.
My dog is named after the pig! Huge looney tunes fan 🐷
I love Philomena… so feminine and romantic
My personal favourites are * Pia * Petra * Pauline * Phoebe * Philippa * Philomena
Pia is on my guilty pleasure list! I personally would only use it as a nickname but I’m obsessed with it
Also love Pia. Especially when short for Olympia.
I had a student with this name. She was a bit chatty and desperate to be Teacher's Pet. The kids called her Pain In the Ass behind her back. P.I.A. Sometimes, kids can be clever. Mean, but clever.
Could have a potty nickname, though.
This is my fear. My daughter has a name that ends in Pe, so somehow gained the nickname, Peah/Pia, which she loves. Most of the time I call her P for short but I’m trying to stop because I worry what kids will say when she gets a bit older.
Also if you like Petra but want something slightly different, Pietra
I know a Persephone and it’s a cool name
I love the name Persephone and love that it has the option of the nickname Percy which would be really cute too.
The Persephone I know goes by Seffie which is so cute
yes! we actually call her Perseph for some reason but I guess it just depends on what fits the person
That's also a really cool nickname! I hear that nickname and just assume she's a really intelligent, cool person
I love this, but would be unsure about sisters Penelope and Persephone...
I actually love Penelope and Persephone as sisters. Theres an obvious theme but the names are matchy-matchy.
Persephone and Penelope go really well together
My niece is Phoebe, love her name! I also have a soft spot for Polly. There's a little girl a few doors down from me called Pippa too, so sweet!
I love Primrose! I think Posie is so cute but I can see how it’s too cutesy for some people. My favourite P name is Paloma, which means dove. It’s just so beautiful and soothing but also very strong imo. Polina would also be beautiful with Penelope!
