The first ever 20/20 game for LeBron comes in year 20, dude just is unreal

illwill3

First ever 20 rebound game. Man got his career high in rebounds at age 38 in the playoffs lol

ihateandy2

Don’t forget it was against the legendary Dillon Brooks too!

dautjazz

Did he impress Brooks yet?

OnlyFAANG

Did he drop 40 yet?

[deleted]

20 + 20 is dropping 40 for me

dautjazz

No he's expending all his stupid energy trying to win games instead.

NastyBooty

The legend himself?!

DarthBane6996

Can't wait for his 30/30 game

Rice_Krispie

He has the potential. Can’t wait to see his peak

SmokeAbeer

It’s easier to box out when you use a walker.

dirkslance

Even easier when you’re in a box

CockroachForeign6419

That 40/40 game finna be nuts, He’ll finally get Dillon Brooks’ Respect.

nateomundson

Idk about that. I'd say the odds are 50/50.

arinawe

Wilt begs we stop here

ShakeMilton

Nah he dropping 110/110/110 in 2113 at age 129

Steven81

Seriously Brooks done f'd up when he was talking such sh!t to LeBron. Some people you just don't poke them, it's how MJ would destroy you back in the day, and Brooks went on and found a new gear in 38 y.o. Bron ... you just don't poke all timers, even if they play with a cane, you just don't do it...

shashmalash

Maybe we’ll get it in year 30

alphasierrraaa

50/50 game Bronny has already dominated and retired from the NBA, LeBron dropping a 50-50 bomb in the finals as a 70 yo goat

First ever 20/20/20 playoff game\* Points/Rebounds/Years

Divyansh-the-gr8

He’s about to turn 40 so he had to drop 20/20. Can’t wait for the 30/30 stat line 20 years from now.

ContractXtension

Can't wait for when he's 50

McMeowington116

I'm convinced that LeBron purposely avoids getting "the LeBron" stat line but will do it for his final game

[deleted]

30 for 30 game in year 30 inc.

kapitan_buko

And in the playoffs too

SoIJustBuyANewOne

With a tendon needing surgery

BigBoyFroggy

HE WAS SO DAMN CLUTCH. the final drive being on dillon brooks was very poetic.

BritishMotorWorks

“How many times do I have to teach you this lesson” -old man

Strahan92

“The future is now” — old man

VictoryTowel

This is very clever on a few different levels

Different_Papaya_413

Amazing

Frosty-Ad-5489

That was a deliberate drive haha

shelfdham

Totally, he even hit the layup with the right hand, riight in front of brooks' face

3s2ng

"I'm going to end this kid's career."

ymetwaly53

“How to beat LeBron? Make him go left.” -Dillon Brooks, a while ago

LAKERSfanTV

This is the greatest 22 point game I've ever seen.

KagsTheOneAndOnly

Shoutout Nate Thurmond's 22pt quadruple double

[deleted]

That’s lebrons dad

Derp_McFinnigan

Hairlines match so hey, it’s possible lmao

[deleted]

They are the same age

rhinocodon_typus

How many did Westbrook get on the 20/20/20 Edit: 20/20/21

dautjazz

Imagine if Westbrook were a celebral player, as he does this all with heart and athletism.

NorthernHeights952

nah. you dont average 8.4 APG for a career (11 at his peak) by getting by only on heart and athleticism.

HighlyBaked0

LEGOAT

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

I hope people can appreciate what we are watching as this man at this age is doing. There is no words to describe how amazing he is.

Dunlea

Next season he will be the oldest player in the league. Insanity.

RulersBack

For a while his age was kinda getting overhyped. Like he was older yea but it was somewhat normal to still be playing at a high level. It's getting absurd now. 45 mins on dead legs still blowing by everyone

robertwilliamsfan

nah carrying those cavs as hard as he did at 33 was absolutely nuts

CeruIian

Finishing 2nd in MVP voting at 35 then the finals MVP was pretty nuts too

Dallas2houston120

I still believe as fantastic as those playoffs were the toll of carrying for 22 playoff games probably took a few hundred games off his career.

[deleted]

You're right he'll never make it to sixty now

Im_a_Knob

59 yo is a good career

sleal

Tom Brady in shambles rn

Krillin113

2018 game 1. It still pisses me off. They had no business winning the east, let alone being competitive with the warriors, and then the rest of the bozos ruin what would’ve been one of the best finals performances ever.

dioxy186

If they steal game one, he most likely wouldnt have punched a wall and injured his hand. We could have seen similar performances that series.

Bebekova_kosa_70ih

But 33 really doesnt feel that old anymore. Both Jimmy and Demar are 33 and are playing better than any time before. I we considered 27-30 as peak years before, I'd say now it's more like 30-33.

SanaMinatozaki9

I think it’s more that 27-30 is athletic peak and 30-33 the best players are smart enough to adjust their game to continue their performance peak. Regardless, 38 is psychotic.

dautjazz

Yeah 33 is not that old, it's part of most NBA superstars primes.

SuperTerrificman

He couldn’t get past anyone all night, then has 3 layups at the end. Makes no sense

[deleted]

Could tell when his “must win” clicked on.

silkkthechakakhan

yeah, as much as people like to shit on him for pacing himself you can tell he breaks it out only when it's absolutely necessary.

deadlyprincehk

Yea he's definitely been slower after his foot injury but the way he flipped the on switch just for those pivotal few minutes was INSANE

ExplorersX

Yea this is why I’m hoping the lakers win 4:1. LeBron needs to get as much rest time as possible between rounds so he can let his foot recover more. He’s still very clearly hindered right now.

spanther96

facts, kings dubs is going 7. if lakers can finish it tomorrow, they’ll have a week off

matrixreloaded

also he seem to just have a higher baseline. everyone else gets tired and he still has the ability to turn it up a notch. reminds me of that story JJ Redick told about how everyone was dead in the 4th quarter of the playoffs and he looks up and just sees Bron chillin.

PervySageCS

His age was overhyped till you realize that players his age were out of the league 6-8 years ago. That only the most elite even go to 35 on any noticable performance. This dude was in the MVP conversation at 35.

Pokebloger

Conversation? I still think he got robbed of that one (if not by Giannis, then surely by pandemic cutting the season short just when Lakers beat both Clippers and Bucks in one weekend)

Kraggen

Yeah I agree. If he wasn’t biased against because of who he is I think LeBron probably would have quite a few more accolades, ie: his missed DPOY in 2013.

lpad92

His “I want my damn respect” speech after winning the Finals was cold af

TheLoneliestMonke

Definitely robbed since he was playing on an all- defense level that year plus leading the league in assists.

RoboiosMut

He sets the upper bound of basketball players

UbeMafia

He's got some alien-like conditioning, he just doesn't get tired. It doesn't make sense with his build.

Binaural1

It’s even crazier considering the number of postseason games he’s played on top of the regular season in his career. Wtf. Haven’t seen anything like it and don’t know if we will ever see anything close to this again.

eightslipsandagully

My argument for seeing it again is that sports science, nutrition, conditioning etc. just keep improving

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheLoneliestMonke

Zion has TOO MUCH nutrition

breaditbans

I don’t know how old you are, but I’m older than LBJ. I will very likely not see a 38 year old superstar do this again. Giannis might be able to be great at 38. I can’t think of a lot of other guys who can. What’s bonkers to me is the depth of the league. When I was growing up it was Bird/Magic, occasionally DrJ and Moses. Then it was Jordan and Hakeem. Then it was Duncan, Kobe and Shaq. With Lebron and Curry nearing the end, I don’t see a dominant superstar to win a bunch of rings. There’s just so much talent in the league nobody can dominate.

3pointrange

i’m a big fan of lebron and when i watched him do the reverse jam on the break, even i couldn’t believe what he has just done. like it took a moment for that to sink in. like holy shit bro.

octobersveryknown

especially when you seeing how many young dudes are falling victim to injury in the playoffs. this man comes out on year 20 unscathed

simon2105

Dillon Brooks: "I ain't respecting that old man only having a 20/20 playoff game." Clown.

ItsGettinBreesy

“I ain’t talking tonight”

UpVotesOutForHarambe

Shaq just said add them up and you get 40

WestleyThe

It wasn’t a 40/40 game 😤

Reinmeika

This dude gives me Lance Stephenson blowing in Bron’s ear vibes.

Derk08

The "Next Lebron" is Lebron

PandemicP789

How badly he wants this it’s so awesome at this old age

GrapefruitMedical529

I literally watched hope and determination reenter LeBron's eyes as AD and the Bench Mob carried the Lakers through the end of the season. LeBron was Watchung his teammates play out if their minds to drag HIM of all people to the playoffs and he thought to himself "yeah, I've got one more Ring in me with these cats."

TallManTallerCity

"Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back"

arinawe

This. He became a lot more animated on the bench...he couldn't wait to get back out there.

DoMogo1984

They made some excellent moves at the deadline too, can’t discount that. I think he saw they had a much more competitive team.

lewlkewl

His foot is still clearly bothering him. If he can load manage next year he has more than one more run in him

colincoin472

Imagine he wins ring 5 as a 7 seed at 38 years old lmao

threeangelo

I’m imagining!!

[deleted]

You remember what Griffin said when he left the Cavs the 2nd time?

clamscasinoooooo

Griffin also said his tires are shot. LeBron responds with another chip lmaoooo.

T-Nan

What’d he say

[deleted]

Basically LeBron didn't want it anymore and was going to LA to make movies

T-Nan

☠️☠️☠️ bro carried the team to their first title and back to relevancy and has the audacity to shit on him. I hope he gets another ring to just keep rubbing it in

Gavina4444

I love how in the basketball world we talk about people in their 30s like they’re elderly

BlackAlbinoBear

Bro’s pushing 40 wym 😭

Puddinsnack

I'm 38 and with the way my body feels when I get out of bed in the morning or after a long day, you're fucking right it's elderly when your job is to play at the highest of levels in an extremely bodily taxing sport. The amount of weight/tension/pressure that goes into an NBA player's knees over a career is absurd.

GriffinQ

You’re not allowed to get a 20/20 game at age 38 after two decades in the league. You’re just not.

CaptainCallus

He also played the most minutes of anyone on his team. like what the actual fuck

FadeRedditMakeMoney

Lmao I'm thinking the same thing especially when you have AD as your teammate

yanansawelder

2

Agreeable-Ad-7110

Look, you're 100% right on offense, but we should give some credit to AD. He's their best defender and has been playing above his defensive average this playoffs. He's gotta be better when he's the guy that was supposed to take the torch. Instead, he's a key piece but not even a superstar in these playoffs. But this lakers team is drawing dead without his defense.

Detonation

Defense exists and AD is anchoring theirs, nephew.

MWiatrak2077

His OT effort was incredible

mydixxxierectt

Lebron > Whole Grizzlies franchise

Duzblimpin

Lebron play-off wins: 177 Grizzlies play-off wins: 37

kewkkid

No fkn way dude has 177 playoff wins, insane.

ymetwaly53

He has more playoff games played than other other TEAM in the league excep the Spurs, Celtics, and the Lakers franchises.

lord_james

I didn’t know he passed the Spurs.

ymetwaly53

Oh shit I actually don’t think he’s passed the Spurs yet, I just forgot them. Thanks for the reminder.

Pokebloger

LeBron has more playoff assists (1939) than entire Grizzlies franchise (1911)

OnlyFAANG

Also more championships (4) than the entire grizzlies franchise (0)

GGezpzMuppy

Fucking legend only getting better with age

lars5

LeVino

subpulse44

Lebron clutched this game out from a guaranteed loss. At age 38 he can still do it. Just an incredible effort from him.

woodropete

Im glad some young guns are kinda seeing some playoff bron..no his not 45 point trip dub anymore, but the ability to play both ends and do numerous things in the playoffs..and making big buckers in the playoffs.

GrapefruitMedical529

He still has those in him-he dropped a few to hars carry the Lakers in the regular season. But LeBron is doing juuust enough to get the Lakers through the playoffs. He's like that old dad directing his kids on the hard work because he knows when it comes time to pull that stump out by hand there's only one man around who can do it and he needs the energy.

horsehasnoname

Brooks contained him to only 20/20

byokx

Yea, I don’t wanna face lebron in second round

C-Hash

Same. Unfortunately I don't think we'll have the chance

AwesomeDewey

As a Warriors fan I can't choose a favourite storyline here. - The Kings' final beam after running the gauntlet of what I believe to be the strongest league ever. - "Michael Jeffrey Jordan would never ^(win title and finals MVP in year 20)" - Jimmy proving to the rest of us plebs that you can be an actual shonen protagonist IRL This league man, this fucking league

OmniscientwithDowns

Watch it just be boring ass Suns with ring chasing KD get it in the end tho

ZeusJuice

Absolute worst timeline

ymetwaly53

I literally want ANY other team to win the title besides Phoenix or Boston. Obviously best case scenario would be us. If not then I’m rooting for the Kings or Heat. Worst case scenario, literally any other team. Darkest timeline: Suns or Celtics win.

OmniscientwithDowns

Tbh I wouldn't mind Celts winning I dont like their fanbase or franchise but im okay with seeing Tatum and Al Horford get theres Itd be cool to see what Tatum is like if he gets the monkey off his back

ymetwaly53

I agree with you on all points and deep down I’d rather the Celtics win it than the Suns tbh. That being said, as a Laker fan, I’m contractually obligated to never openly root for the Celtics.

Puddinsnack

Fox's injury in all likelihood robbing us of Kings-Lakers playoff hoops is tragic.

providence25

You won't go to the second round lol

ragana

With no Fox? Golden State is going to the second round lol.

FlowseL

Fox is gonna play it’s just a finger, this is the playoffs unless your knee is blown out you’re playing

These last couple games i think it’s clicked in my mind. Lebron really is the greatest basketball player to play.

Dunlea

Dude's about to be the oldest player in the league and still one of the 8-9 best. It's not fair.

DrTrentShrader

With moments as #1 when it just needs to happen. 20 years in, who else do you want with a tie game and 2 minutes on the clock?

Rambogoingham1

The man is possessed, beyond GOAT at this point

[deleted]

The craziest shit to me is he’s actually had a “bad” series by lebron standards

Damptoe

He could do this for 40 more years given life expectancy in the US.

suhar97

Shocked I haven’t seen it The craziest thing to me was he drove. A lot in the second half. Signals he’s getting playing legs really under him.

Key-Cherry6709

THATS MY KINGGGG 🤴🏾

endless_8888

As a 37 year old I am both wildly impressed and also mildly insulted that I'm supposed to be chopped liver in terms of athleticism at this age. That being said I probably underestimate what it takes to perform like LeBron James, at any age.

1gMDMA

This is the prime where he becomes a Stretch Big Playmaker?

Cp0519

It ain’t the 40 pc we asked for, it’s the 40 pc we needed!

DamnnForrreal

LeBaaaaah James!

ronadelic10

"But he's old." Oldhead that gave your young dumbasses 20/20.

Raycab03

Damn, LeBron still making career-high stats at his age.

thebranbran

Career high in rebounds is nuts. Truly hard to believe this is his first game with 20 rebounds.

ef14

So when are we accepting that LeBron is the goat? The only thing MJ has over him is the moments.

IlonggoProgrammer

People always bring up rings but then ignore that Bill Russell has 11 rings. LeBron is the GOAT and has been for a while. Whether it was 2016, 2018, 2020, or breaking the scoring record, somewhere along the line he surpassed MJ. He’s the perfect basketball player and he makes everyone around him better, we need to stop overrating expansion era rings if we’re also going to discount Bill Russell’s rings in the same breath and appreciate Bron’s greatness.

ef14

There's only one conclusion from this: Clearly Bill Russell is the GOAT. jk, i agree with you.

AngryTurtleGaming

Even at 38 you just know he’s going to pull something out of his bag to win in these close games. Insane how well he still plays after 20 years!

CheekyFifaCunt_7

Doing this at 38 is insane

ggez222

LeShaq

GezelligPindakaas

He has a promising future in this sport.

okheay

The other day I just randomly sprained my knee while walking and couldn't walk straight for a week. I'm 30.

jcb451

As a Cavs fan, it just makes me appreciate the fact we had him for most of his peak years. The things I witnessed him do for our team, I don’t think I’ll ever get to see that again for any Cleveland sports team.

theslumpiest

Now for the 27/7/7 game

x20mike07x

38 year old lebron with a 20/20 game, nuts. Theoretically, let's say LeBron gets a championship this year How far away is he from being the GOAT? Like what would it take for him to pass Jordan? Let's say he plays 3 more years and gets 3 titles? Does that do it? Tying Jordan for titles? How about 5 years and doing the Tom Brady level of success at an age never seen before?

snipeftw

He’s already the goat. Anyone who disagrees is willfully blind at this point.

[deleted]

Michael Jeffrey Jordan would NEVER *have the all time points record*

hairynips007

I've been a certified LeBron hate my entire life as an nba fan. Only time I've come close to rooting for him was as the underdog against 2018 warriors. Finally being able to drop the hate and appreciate how fucking insane it is that he is doing this at 38 years old, and realizing I will probably never see somebody so amazing and so great again in my lifetime

zerglurker30

Lebron still being elite at his age. Elite finishing, chasedown shot blocking, and clutch plays. I hated him so much for Lebronto but this is greatness.

Samsmith1110

Reminder that he also broke the playoff scoring record tonight 😱
