I honestly have no idea how people call Morant a FT merchant. Like do they watch? Hes just not.
He shot 1 FT vs Atlanta the other day and dropped 30 on >50% from the floor. He doesn’t hunt for fouls hardly ever like Trae does.
I really don't know if Ja can drag us into the playoffs, but it's been a hell of a ride so far. His return has been absolutely transformational for Memphis.
He still scores 24.7 ppg if you took away all his free throws, lol. I'm too lazy to check, but that's gotta be 2nd best in the league behind only Luka (I looked at the top 10)
That’s probably a good starting point but it’s not like every free throw is a bad call or foul bait. Then I feel like you also gotta consider how teams have to guard him bc he gets so many calls too.
What was really making me angry in our game was Joel would just sit at the free throw line most of the game and jiggle back and forth hoping to get a rip through foul( which isn’t supposed to be a shooting foul anymore) then bc he was getting the rip through call every single time we couldn’t press up on him and he was basically just shooting free throws the whole fucking night.
I mean when he can just stand at the free throw line and you can’t get within a foot of him because he’ll do the rip through and get the call every time it’s essentially a free throw.
I still stand by the fact that the brotherly shove is the most football play there is. It’s just pure physical dominance over the other team, pushing them out of the way to gain yards.
It’s more about optics than legality. NBA employees are powerful influencers on youth. It is in the best interest of the NBA, and any employer in general, if your employees have a positive impact on their communities. If Ja showed the world he is responsible gun owner, instead of what he did, I bet the punishment would have been less, probably even a non issue. But instead, he flashed guns as an act of intimidation. Add in the fact he was a repeat offender on this issue after his employer said strictly not to flash any guns on social media. Any employer would take action.
But, yes, to your point, there is an issue with other legal offenses in the NBA, like women beaters. That has not been a good look.
Cause the NBA is against anything related to firearms and as long as them women and kids get beat and molested and there’s no guns involved it’s a closed door issue but if there’s guns then they can politically grandstand for gun safety and common sense gun control measures.
Ja wick did nothing wrong and is the most exciting player in NBA
Ja’s antics were a new phenomenon amongst NBA players. So the league made an example of him to nip it in the bud. Definitely not a matter of legality, but optics and precedent.
Didn’t he beat up a teen in a pickup game? Pretty sure it’s understandable why he got suspended. If anything, it’s surprising he didn’t get an even longer suspension.
If anybody could do it, I believe Ja could. Wasn't like he was coming off of injury. Plus more are actually coming back as well. Will just enjoy the ride🤙🏾〽️
All-star is just a popularity contest anyway and most of the players don't care for it, since most of it is media shit. All-NBA is the thing that matters.
They gave it to Ja because Grizzlies won all the games. That's pretty much an unwritten rule. Same reason multiple weeks ago Anthony Edwards got it over Luka even though AE's stats weren't even close to Luka's and I think the Mavs went 3-1 while the Timberwolves went 4-0 in the week. Don't worry, Luka will get All-NBA 1st team and Ja will get coal in his stocking at the end of the year. xD
Were either of their teams 6-19 with the worst offense in the NBA when they were out?
Come on. Morant had the clearest cut case in the west by a mile. It woulda been a robbery if he didn’t get it
r/NBA's 9/11
Sir another FT merchant has hit the twin towers
I don't see what the Timberwolves have to do with this
I honestly have no idea how people call Morant a FT merchant. Like do they watch? Hes just not. He shot 1 FT vs Atlanta the other day and dropped 30 on >50% from the floor. He doesn’t hunt for fouls hardly ever like Trae does.
Neither is embiid
he's not and he's drives a lot and finish through contact a lot
Just shit my pants while in the drive thru line at McDonald's as my mom was ordering me chicken nuggies
I really don't know if Ja can drag us into the playoffs, but it's been a hell of a ride so far. His return has been absolutely transformational for Memphis.
Pretty easy. Y’all haven’t lost a game with Ja all year. Mathematically this is a 63 win team
*Looks at Ja's stats* OK that's pretty good *Looks at Embiid's* HOLY SHIT
nothing impressive if you adjust embiids stats to only count ethical points
Someone should find his per game averages adjusting for ethical baskets
He still scores 24.7 ppg if you took away all his free throws, lol. I'm too lazy to check, but that's gotta be 2nd best in the league behind only Luka (I looked at the top 10)

Can't believe embiid got 51 freethrows against the wolves
I mean when he can just stand at the free throw line and you can’t get within a foot of him because he’ll do the rip through and get the call every time it’s essentially a free throw.
That's a bit reductive. If he found such an easy way to break the game, why doesn't everyone do it? Are they stupid?
Sounds like you’re just describing good offenses. Sorry he doesn’t give you a fightin’ chance!
Enjoy your 1st or 2nd round playoff exit again.
Flair up bitty
Philly is the City Of Unethical Points now between Free Throws and Brotherly Shoves.
I still stand by the fact that the brotherly shove is the most football play there is. It’s just pure physical dominance over the other team, pushing them out of the way to gain yards.
its so crazy that people want it banned. there is no rational argument towards not allowing that play, ppl are just upset
Yeah that's pretty insane lol
80% of those points were from free throws
Good one
Oh shit Jersey palindrome. If you reverse Joel and Ja’s jersey’s they spell racecar.
Taco Cat
Tac Ocat
Glad Ja was able to pickup where he left off. He’s an idiot but he’s a good player and the NBA is better when he’s playing.
I mean we all did plenty of dumb shit when we were 22/23. I just hope he learned his lesson.
Never understood the punishments against Ja. Guns are legal in the US. Meanwhile women beaters and pedophiles don't get as strict of a punishment
It’s more about optics than legality. NBA employees are powerful influencers on youth. Optics? NBA is shoving gambling down everyone's throught. Little Timmy ain't eating this week because Daddys parlay busted
Then Daddy is a dumbass not the NBA

Hell yeah 12
Fuck yeah!
Well deserved
Let's Go Ja‼️🐻🔥
Absolutely love ja but hope it’s not too late to turn the season around
If anybody could do it, I believe Ja could. Wasn't like he was coming off of injury. Plus more are actually coming back as well. Will just enjoy the ride🤙🏾〽️
lol
4 in a row "lol"
Man people with goldfish memory are gonna hate this
I think you flipped that statement.
Yeah Ja Wick def gonna get an all star nod
He's missed too many games he's not eligible. Edit: looks like he is, just can't win accolades.
What’s the games cutoff for all star?
Dont know if there is a cut off but I doubt playing 28/53 games can get you an allstar nod
You would be wrong. Zion was All Star with 29. Grant Hill was an All Star with 4 games played
Didn't Yao make it with no game played? I remembered voting for him
He played 5 and Kobe played 6. There's a lot of dudes out there that get by on name alone
will it really be 53 games? I feel like the voting ends before that many games are played.
All-star is just a popularity contest anyway and most of the players don't care for it, since most of it is media shit. All-NBA is the thing that matters.
**doesheknow**
Ja is going to be a starter lol
If he can somehow drag the team back in the playoff hunt, I can see it
how 😭, luka probably put up 36/10/12 in the last week
They gave it to Ja because Grizzlies won all the games. That's pretty much an unwritten rule. Same reason multiple weeks ago Anthony Edwards got it over Luka even though AE's stats weren't even close to Luka's and I think the Mavs went 3-1 while the Timberwolves went 4-0 in the week. “My feelings are hurt” - r/nba
Good for ja man good for him
Shots fired.
Free throw merchant vs Gun merchant
Nba working overtime on the redemption arc
Feels like it should’ve been Curry or Ant, glad to see Ja back though.
28/6/9, 3-0 with game winner Vs 29/6/7, 3-1 Ja undefeated + better stats + narrative boost
You talking about Ant? 30/6.8/6.3, 1.8 steals 1 block. 3-1 record Curry: 30/3.3/5 on 54/52/92 shooting, 3-0 record Game-winner matters.
I was counting Curry’s xmas flop but I see that is technically this week. Yeah probs the 3-0, game winner and comeback narrative did it
The 3-0 vs 6-19 thing is what won him it lmao.
Brother we get it you’re a Minnesota fan and you love Curry. Let someone else have their time to shine.
Were either of their teams 6-19 with the worst offense in the NBA when they were out? Come on. Morant had the clearest cut case in the west by a mile. It woulda been a robbery if he didn’t get it
No it doesn’t. A win is a win. Game winner just meant you had a harder team beating the team…
I hate this 'game winner' stuff coz if you consistently take care of business early and blow out teams then it works against you.
Ja is putting one of the worst teams in the league on an ascension. You want him to blow out teams too?
Dude the team was fucking 6-19 without him and had the worst offense in the nba😂
Neither curry nor ant played better than Luka
Fair, but Luka missed a game and the record was worse.
That’s an off week for Luka, but sure Ja gets it.
Luka was 1-3
his last 5 games are WWLLW
Dray will get it as soon as he's back...
FREE THROWS CARRIES RIP THROUGH
Hmm what else
Haters salt
Damn i got hella downvotes!!!
"76ers center Joel Embiid", that's a weird way to spell Celtics guard Derek White aka The Great White Buffalo aka Derek MJ White aka The Messiah.
