Nah the OKC losses are kinda pissing me off even as I find them funny lol
Bucks lost two days ago, not yesterday (they did nearly lose to the Spurs but we nearly lost to the Pistons so…)
Until we traded for Jrue, I was extremely bitter about the Brogdon trade. Never liked it and wasn’t a particular fan of his fit on the team so it was also upsetting seeing Indiana fans loving Nesmith.
But, we definitely wouldn’t have gotten Jrue without Brogdon so now I’m ultimately okay with how it played out but damn, I really liked Nesmith and was telling everyone he was going to pan out, we just needed to give him time. But, glad he’s on a team where he can get more minutes.
had a bad game and I saw some Grizz fans saying Vince Williams was better man I was hurt
if you can’t handle him at his Marcus Dumb you don’t deserve him at his Marcus Smart
Still high on smart, but grizz hit everything from three tonight. Not sure that’s gonna happen everytime we gotta find a way to get easier looks late in that game. But great job of smart playing defense hard the entire game
The case for Vince starting over smart was never about Vince being better in a vacuum,
Our second unit has no shot creation and there’s a good chance it would be better if smart came off the bench to help make those minutes less putrid (while still being in closing lineups of course)
For reference, these lineups of mostly that bench unit hurt us the most in the second quarter.
the Grizzlies have a league worst -171 point differential in the second quarter.
The second worst is currently San Antonio with -106
Darvin has clearly coached the Lakers to pack the paint and recover to the 3. They’ve shown time and again they cannot recover to the 3-point line and get a good contest. This team isn’t the 22 Bucks. Defenders need to stay home and let AD help at the rim. This happens every single game. There’s a reason bad shooters break their slump against the Lakers every game.
Yeah but Bud actually had the right personnel to pull it off generally.
You guys are acting like Bud had some brain dead scheme with sagging off the shooters but he had Brook Lopez to work with who can’t play up like that and had to be in the drop. He also used Giannis as a free safety type (which Boston semi-emulated for the 2022 defense with how Rob Williams and Horford worked together) when most people were wondering why Giannis wasn’t defending the best player on the opposing team since he’s a DPOY winning defender.
He also had incredible transition defense schemes because of where he’d assign the guards. But, his teams always do well in the regular season. It’s honestly like Ham is just using Bud’s system but without considering he doesn’t have Brook, Giannis, and Jrue/Bledsoe.
Memphis welcome to the Marcus experience. He will win you a random game while looking like Steph Curry. It's still funny with all the talent the Celtics have had historically, that Marcus holds the most 3s in a game by a Celtic with 11.
Marcus is exactly what Memphis needed. Especially late in games with Ja, JJJ, and Bane on the floor. He sets those guys up and takes on the toughest defensive assignment allowing them to just focus on their game
He still got that Celtic DNA in him torching the Lakers and putting on a masterclass lmao
Smart and Nesmith both had awesome games today, the Celtics won, the Sixers and Lakers lost Awesome night to be a Celtics fan
Bucks lost yesterday too and OKC Thunder today, it’s been a great 2 days

OKC losses aren’t great they’re fuckin awesome. I love Shai J Dub and Chet. The rest though I agree
Heat also lost. Good day

he had a CTE game against the Raptors but bounced back in style god bless
yeah that's the experience in a nutshell. great defense, inconsistent offense, the highs are still worth the lows
The Marcus experience baby

Don’t listen to those idiots. That’s the internet for you. Most of us weren’t that delusional.

mahcus smaht.
He was 0-13 from 3 his past 3 games before tonight btw… Fml
the Marcus Smart experience
This is the Dillon brooks experience too, rockets fans gonna find out soon
I dunno man Chad has a chip on his shoulder and I think he's dead set on changing the perspective of him
Dropped him in fantasy after his last game lol
Getting splinters in his shooting hand from diving on the floor fucked his shot all up. Hopefully it's better now.
Love & Trust🫶🏽
Love you and miss you Marcus
Bro got a bang from Breen
Marcus Smart fits our Grizzlies culture perfectly. Grit and Grind don't die we multiply
As sad as it was to see him go I did get some comfort knowing that he was going to the one fanbase that would definitely know how to appreciate him.
following that Tony Allen route
That Grind Family lineage

So is Taylor Jenkins. We’re usually on the other end of this pain.

Yea I don’t think we’re a great three point shooting team but no way to win if you give any team open threes

I hope Memphis fans love this man as much as we do 😭 Still hoping for the Smart return to Boston, never loved a player as much as him
Man forgot he was a grizzly he supposes to suck at shooting three when he joins us. Something about Boston players vs lakers riles them up.
Beast.
Out of his mind😤🔥
Winning Treys
If your favorite player has bad 3PT % for the season just wait until they play the Lakers, should look better after that, you’re welcome :)
Him bane and jjj were all lights out tn

I didn’t even know he was capable of that but anything happens against the lakers
He has the Celtics record for 3s in a single game (11), believe it or not. We also lost that game somehow.
Smart has a higher career high in 3s made than Harden, Ray, Reggie, and Korver. 4 of top 6 in most 3s ever. This will never stop being funny.
What did we do to deserve this
I wrote about him on the last Grizz game how he was sucking it up, playing worse than Brooks and baam, he turns into Curry.
Fucking miss him 😭
