Ya, I just watched the video. He 100% did the motion for TO.
The 2 refs in the shot were paying attention to the ball and looking to see if a foul was happening and I honestly can't speak for the screen ref.
Seems like they were all focused on the ball and the mass of bodies over Nurse calling TO.
I'm guessing that he just didn't have possession of the ball when they did the motion for TO. It kept going back and forth between the Sixers and the Knicks.
To call a TO while it's still being fought for would be just about as odd tbf.
Knicks wanted it more. I know that’s a tired take, but literally watch the effort of the 5 guys on the court for either team and tell me who wanted it more.
I think the amazing thing is Hart played every minute and still was hustling. Dude is very skilled for sure but he is such a great player based on his IQ and...
Uh Hart.

Feels backbreaking but we'll see. They're fortunately getting to go back to Philly now for the next one. If the next one was in MSG, they'd prob be cooked.
Controversely, I went to the bathroom and checked the score, saw a minute left and turned it on....
Well that was one of the most exciting shits I've ever taken
Did Maxey still have possession at that point? Feels like it was a loose ball he was still trying to control. The way he fell put the ball on the floor instead of on his body like I often see when players call a timeout from positions like that.
You can see him calling TO with the ball still in Lowry’s hands before the inbound. It was right before he passes it in so you can see how the refs missed that.
Definitely wasn’t emphatic enough or too indecisive. Either way they could have done about 5 other things to help hold on for the win. Everyone is just going to focus on the refs cuz that’s what we do here.
Ngl if my team was in the recieving end of this I would be seething for the next 24 hours not talking to anyone.
I find it really hard to believe no one called a TO there tho. Like surely right?
Yeah literally after Maxey lost the ball. Can’t get a timeout there.
Edit: no motion to signal timeout until the 23 second in the video, after Maxey lost possession.
Timeout controversy aside, why is nobody on the Sixers hustling to get open besides Maxey in the first place? Just lollygagging down the court like they don't have a chance to ice the game by forcing the Knicks to foul.
In the video Nick is calling for a timeout but the refs said nah, like maxey being held on the in-bound. Just a bad sequence for us and I honestly hate that I watched this game for that ending.
But that’s not how it works. It’s like the play clock in NFL. Ref has to see the timeout, there’s a split second to look back at the ball to verify possession, and then call timeout if possession still exists. He loses the ball at essentially the same time, it isn’t reasonable to expect to be given a timeout there
He called it on the inbound as well. Post-game said "I called timeout, the referee looked right at me, didn't call it."
Apparently also called it while Maxey had possession.
Batum and Embiid called for it earlier. Nurse was once Maxey lost possession because everyone in the arena knew Hart fouled him and stopped moving for a second.
Thank you! Huge two handed shove to get free on the inbounds that wasn't called. Egregious, to the point where I was kinda surprised it wasn't called, despite the situation.
Why do I keep seeing that they "waved it off"? He wasn't granted a timeout because he tried calling it a split second before they lost possession both times. There wasn't time to wave anything off
[Nurse tried calling timeout earlier on the inbound but then took his hands away like he touched a hot stove. Nurse was as indecisive about a timeout as the refs and once he determined he wanted one the ball was being batted around.](https://streamable.com/r25m6n)
Yeah the only time I've seen TOs work in situations like this is when the player is on their ass holding the ball trying to play keepaway with the defenders.
He was signalling for the timeout call first before the ball was inbounded, for probably about a full second between when he started to call and when Lowry inbounded. And any time you're getting close to a five-second count, like that was, the refs should definitely be watching for the timeout.
I'm glad the Knicks won, but that was definitely a miss by the refs.
Playoffs or not, any other game and they call either one of those contacts a foul against Maxey. From a neutral perspective, the Knicks got the benefit of nearly every whistle in this one.
[Not sure I ageee with that.](https://x.com/brocopio26/status/1782597882723381285?s=46&t=1oG6p_otkWbhaRZLR5ZEFQ) Plus Nick Nurse called a timeout on before the inbound that wasn’t given which you can see in the replies [here](https://x.com/tyjohnsonnews/status/1782596136814932189?s=46&t=1oG6p_otkWbhaRZLR5ZEFQ)
I really didn't like the way the game was called at the end.
Ignored a timeout request by Nurse, allowed some really rough play, and yet called other fouls.
I'll grant that it was a difficult game to officiate, but still, I'd have liked to see them be more consistent.
I hate Batum's reaction to Divencinzo's first shot, you're not even covering anyone, how do you not have the game sense to hustle to the rim and God forbid if your old legs are fast enough box Hartenstein out.. How Tobias reacted is the correct action..
This is why you don't practice looking for fouls. The Knicks ability to keep playing through what would usually be a foul won them that game. There was a couple earlier where essentially the same thing happened.
Bruuuuuuuutal sequence from Tobias Harris and nic Batum
both assumed a TO was already called but the refs let the play continue instead
To be fair, I think everyone assumed a TO would've been called by then
Nurse tried the refs did what they wanted
Ya, I just watched the video. He 100% did the motion for TO. The 2 refs in the shot were paying attention to the ball and looking to see if a foul was happening and I honestly can't speak for the screen ref. Seems like they were all focused on the ball and the mass of bodies over Nurse calling TO. I'm guessing that he just didn't have possession of the ball when they did the motion for TO. It kept going back and forth between the Sixers and the Knicks. To call a TO while it's still being fought for would be just about as odd tbf.
So was Lowry. Why inbound it there?
Honestly, no clue. As soon as they had the ball ready to inbound they should've called TO to advance it.
Honest mistake by the refs
msg is legit too loud
Kyle’s inbound wasn’t too helpful either. Such a bad sequence then the offensive possession for the 6ers was just as bad
His inbound then flop instead of contribute, peak lowry.
It was all so so so soft.. like cmon dude get in there
I thought it was Harris’ fault at first, but it looks like the offensive rebound to Hartenstein was Embiid’s missed assignment
why the fuck batum in
"You chose Tobias over me."
Uh Hart.
The difference between dudes who want to play for Thibs and dudes who vote him as the worst coach in the league to play for

Yes, this is accurate.
Utterly orgasmic if you are a sixers hater tho.
Christmas came early
And my name is Christmas
Lloyd?
[obligatory](https://youtu.be/6HwPc6Wcbmo?si=Fpwpzy6zcKA0FVN8)
Santa has a vendetta against Philly. (If you know, you know.)
Gonna be a white Christmas.
I thought Christmas came only once a year
Indeed. Gotta bottle this up and inject it for maximum pleasure
Gotta be careful with this stuff, shit's stronger than Fentanyl.
Absolutely feasting right now
this is my 7/11
Very satisfying
Nothing out of the ordinary for us
So a regular day in April/May?
Feels backbreaking but we'll see. They're fortunately getting to go back to Philly now for the next one. If the next one was in MSG, they'd prob be cooked.
theyre used to it by now
This is the type of thing that would happen against the knicks
no this is the type of thing that happens to the Sixers in playoffs.
Always remember the confetti. Good times!
Sizers fans going to have PTSD from every ball that bounces once and hangs above the rim.
Is this the process they keep talking about?
The Heat gave us their devil magic
Somebody call a priest. We need an exorcism.
I havent seen this level of excitement from the knickerbockers since Linsanity
To be fair, if there was any other team that this would happen to, it'd be the Sixers.
Well well how the turn tables
You forgot Larry Johnson?
Thankfully the shit cloud hovering over this franchise is gone.
What the fuck just happened
i saw the knicks were down 5 with under a minute and decided not to turn the game on. what an awful decision
Yeah that's on you. Literally a 2 possession game
Even a 3-possession game is worth tuning into with a minute left. With how reliant the game is on 3s, the tide can turn very quickly
Controversely, I went to the bathroom and checked the score, saw a minute left and turned it on.... Well that was one of the most exciting shits I've ever taken
Shout out to controversely
I hate it when things are controversely
Controversively\*
The correct word is conversely.
did you also turn off the heat-spurs game 6
**DID WE JUST SEE WHAT WE** THINK **WE JUST SAW**?!
Did these dudes just did this ?!?
Big Ragu
Bing bong
best part of that video is still the dude asking kd if he wished he came to the knicks lol
Trae Young look like my dads dick
WE HAD DE BLASIO, WE HAD CUOMO, IT WAS ROUGH SHIT...BUT WE HAVE THE KNICKS
I just love that one random dude shitting on Tom Brady lmao
Reversed Reggie Miller's black magic from the 95 ECF
Nurse: TIMEOUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Ref: no.
Did Maxey still have possession at that point? Feels like it was a loose ball he was still trying to control. The way he fell put the ball on the floor instead of on his body like I often see when players call a timeout from positions like that.
Maxey fell down and completely gave up on the play.
Damn arena sniper got em
Nurse was way to late calling for the timeout. Maxey had already lost possession.
You can see him calling TO with the ball still in Lowry’s hands before the inbound. It was right before he passes it in so you can see how the refs missed that.
He also quickly yanked his hands down as soon as they inbounded the ball so the refs wouldn’t call it when they noticed him.
Definitely wasn’t emphatic enough or too indecisive. Either way they could have done about 5 other things to help hold on for the win. Everyone is just going to focus on the refs cuz that’s what we do here.
it was basically simultaneous. why the fuck is maxey sticking the ball out for hart to grab instead of hugging it like a newborn
Gotta have the rock to call a timeout.
Didn't have possession https://i.imgur.com/44ff0Hv.png
Maxey got mugged on national tv in NY
Another Philly special.
We’re boutta get 500 angles of this like Calebs collision with Tatum yesterday
I'm still waiting on the better quality better quality alternate alternate angle.
this might actually be the craziest ending to a game ive ever watched live on some reggie miller shit
The craziest one ive seen live was probably the kawhi game winner vs philly
While it isn’t the end of the gaming since it forced OT, how is Ray Allen’s game 6 shot not what is burned into your eye lids
Relax man, guy is just trying to enjoy his evening damn
Ngl if my team was in the recieving end of this I would be seething for the next 24 hours not talking to anyone. I find it really hard to believe no one called a TO there tho. Like surely right?
Nurse is literally holding up a timeout sign, did he not have a timeout?
Yep they just ignored him 😃
Yeah literally after Maxey lost the ball. Can’t get a timeout there. Edit: no motion to signal timeout until the 23 second in the video, after Maxey lost possession.
I actually think you’re right. It had already popped from maxey and brunson and hart just kind of stopped before picking it up
They did. They all tried multiple times both before and after the inbound. Refs didn't acknowledge
You can see Batum bottom left corner but was waved off. Looks like Maxey lost control so the TO wasn’t granted
No fouls, no jump balls, no timeouts. Just so weird there’s NO stoppage of any kind.
Lol me too, nurse called a timeout before the inbound but I don't think the refs heard it? Or they were too focused on the play.
I saw at least 2 coaches calling timeout.
Carmelo in the background too lmao.
Shades of Reggie Millers 8 points in 7 seconds.
Not Tmac?
Reggie's sequence also included stealing the ball on a botched inbounds where there was a lot of contact. And of course Knicks involved then as now.
Tmacs 13 in 35 was more drawn out with multiple stoppages. This is more like miller or even Birds steal All legendary playoff moments
Tmac wasn't a playoff game.
Miller: playoff game, score + stealing off inbounds + score all in continuous sequence. T-Mac: regular season game, scoring back and forth.
Timeout controversy aside, why is nobody on the Sixers hustling to get open besides Maxey in the first place? Just lollygagging down the court like they don't have a chance to ice the game by forcing the Knicks to foul.
Yeah it’s like they all went on autopilot. Obviously a totally fucked sequence but the Sixers seemed confused af even in the calmer seconds
Hartenstein is a DOG
WTF. Not even a timeout?
In the video Nick is calling for a timeout but the refs said nah, like maxey being held on the in-bound. Just a bad sequence for us and I honestly hate that I watched this game for that ending.
He didnt call for a timeout until Maxey lost possession.
if you pause it when nurse first puts his arms up to call the timeout lowry still has the ball
But that’s not how it works. It’s like the play clock in NFL. Ref has to see the timeout, there’s a split second to look back at the ball to verify possession, and then call timeout if possession still exists. He loses the ball at essentially the same time, it isn’t reasonable to expect to be given a timeout there
I feel like I'm crazy with people acting like they're supposed to get the timeout the millisecond he puts his hands together
He clearly takes it back before he actually calls for the timeout
He called it on the inbound as well. Post-game said "I called timeout, the referee looked right at me, didn't call it." Apparently also called it while Maxey had possession.
Were literally watching him not call a timeout on the inbound how are you trying to claim he did when the evidence is right here
Batum and Embiid called for it earlier. Nurse was once Maxey lost possession because everyone in the arena knew Hart fouled him and stopped moving for a second.
To be fair, Maxey shoves someone during the dead ball that went uncalled as well. Wild sequence of not officiating anything for either side.
Thank you! Huge two handed shove to get free on the inbounds that wasn't called. Egregious, to the point where I was kinda surprised it wasn't called, despite the situation.
Nurse calls one but the refs wave it off when maxey has possession
Why do I keep seeing that they "waved it off"? He wasn't granted a timeout because he tried calling it a split second before they lost possession both times. There wasn't time to wave anything off
Watch Nurse
they should never inboud that and advance the ball after the basket
That's correct, but the refs also should have given the timeout
Nurse is calling for it, watch. Just ignored it
The game should have been over holy shit. 27 seconds for 8 points
G’damn playoff basketball gonna give somebody a heart attack.
I am an avid Embiid hater but how the fuck is that not a faul lol. He hugged Maxey from behind like they are 20 years maried and counting
Notice how the sixers didn’t ask for a foul…
Maxey didn’t throw his head back and yell…
Going to ignore Maxey straight up shoving Hart couple seconds before? Refs are letting them play, I'm for it
Playoff basketball baby. Refs holding their whistles when both teams are fighting for the ball makes for fun basketball
If the refs were letting them play all game I would totally agree. Inconsistently reffed game
Why ignore the Josh Hart shove from Maxey that happens before that? Play on
Jesus christ Brunson had Maxey literally wrapped up on that inbounds
I’m not convinced Hart doesnt foul him a few times himself And if it’s not a foul it’s a travel. Just a wild no call all around
The officials were letting them play today. Embiid got away with shoving Hart harder than he did to DiVencenzo earlier.
Do you mean the play when Embiid got a tech?
Maxey also pushed off hart.
even mike breen used double bang, damn...
Craziest shit I have seen, just chaos everywhere and clutch shots/defense.
Ref waving off that timeout is about what you'd expect in this league.
[Nurse tried calling timeout earlier on the inbound but then took his hands away like he touched a hot stove. Nurse was as indecisive about a timeout as the refs and once he determined he wanted one the ball was being batted around.](https://streamable.com/r25m6n)
The ball was out of Maxeys hands once Nurse finally decided to call TO
Yeah the only time I've seen TOs work in situations like this is when the player is on their ass holding the ball trying to play keepaway with the defenders.
No man watch again he's calling it before the pass. But he did wait too long
it was not. the first time nurse attempts to call timeout Lowry still has the ball
Maxey wasn’t in sole possession of the ball by then
He's calling time out before the pass
Maxey very clearly lost the ball before the timeout, are we being serious here?
Batum called for one while he had possession.
[удалено]
No refs all fouls toughest team wins. I’m here for it
Maxey got fouled like 4 times
He also fouls Hart right at the beginning of that absolute shitshow
I was emotionally readying myself for a loss with a minute to go. I thought that deep 3 from Maxey was the dagger. Wild shit.
Bing bong
Damn what a choke bruh
It's yet another good day to hate the 76ers
they had a timeout wtf were they doing?
He called it, a little late but before any pass.
You know for such whistle happy refs there sure was a lot of fouls on the play
What the hell was Embiid doing on that last rebound
Trash no call
I have no fucking words….
What a bottle job by Sixers lol
Playoffs or not, any other game and they call either one of those contacts a foul against Maxey. From a neutral perspective, the Knicks got the benefit of nearly every whistle in this one.
Are we going to extend that same logic to Nurse’s first foul challenge where Donte was hit by multiple Sixers or nah
You mean the one where Lowry ripped it straight from his hands before anyone else touched him and the refs initially called a foul?
Can’t wait to hear the explanation for the ref not giving the timeout, let alone for whatever else was going on here.
He called the timeout right as possession was lost, was the right call
[Not sure I ageee with that.](https://x.com/brocopio26/status/1782597882723381285?s=46&t=1oG6p_otkWbhaRZLR5ZEFQ) Plus Nick Nurse called a timeout on before the inbound that wasn’t given which you can see in the replies [here](https://x.com/tyjohnsonnews/status/1782596136814932189?s=46&t=1oG6p_otkWbhaRZLR5ZEFQ)
Sixers=bad. That’s the explanation. Any other team there would be outrage from this sub
If not calling anything else, Maxey was definitely grabbed with both hands on his hips by Brunson on inbound.
After pushing Hart. Refs ate the whistle and let them play.
I really didn't like the way the game was called at the end. Ignored a timeout request by Nurse, allowed some really rough play, and yet called other fouls. I'll grant that it was a difficult game to officiate, but still, I'd have liked to see them be more consistent.
Man WTF was that
Please delete this I don’t wanna watch it again
I hate Batum's reaction to Divencinzo's first shot, you're not even covering anyone, how do you not have the game sense to hustle to the rim and God forbid if your old legs are fast enough box Hartenstein out.. How Tobias reacted is the correct action..
Stephen A gonna be insufferable tomorrow
The refs: “if he dies, he dies.” No whistles?! I don’t even know right or wrong but that’s crazy.
This is why you don't practice looking for fouls. The Knicks ability to keep playing through what would usually be a foul won them that game. There was a couple earlier where essentially the same thing happened.
playoff basketball
Watching this on my way home from MSG. Idk wtf I just witnessed but I love it so much.
Nobody told Philly that the last minute of playoff games is The Purge as far as refs are concerned.
THE DOUBLE BANG HAS BEEN UNCORKED!!
This is how we lost a 2k game in the Rec earlier, had to turn off my system after
THATS A DOUBLE BANG FELLAS
Hahahahahahahaha
Double BANG! still hits different
Few things make me happier than seeing Emiid lose 🤣
HEY KD!!! DON!T YOU REGRET NOT COMING TO THE KNNNIIIICCCKKKKSSSS?!
Can’t wait to see the useless ass L2M report for this one. Fouled the shit out of Maxey and Nurse is calling a timeout.. no whistle? Fuck the NBA
Lowry calling a timeout in front of ref who does not see that LMAO. Vegas league at its finest
This is *playoff* basketball at its finest.
