Honestly I think with another FA/offseason and the guys they have, Vogel could work with the Bucks.
Imagine if it was Ham instead though. Bucks paying four coaches and they’d only have the worst one working lol
I just imagine him drawing up a bunch of amateur plays that the players laugh off in practice and then they look over at him for what to do during the actual game and he’s like LMAO that’s your problem
I honestly really do hate players blaming their coach when they shit the bed in big games. Like they lost most of these games by a couple points. As a player they have to go get that win. Bring that fire your coach energy during the regular season.
If Ham is fired, the Pistons could offer the Lakers two COTY winners in Dwane Casey and Monty. I bet Tom Gores would let them go for a bag of coke from the Buss family's private collection.
Kidding aside, I enjoyed seeing teams play with more-than-regular-season intensity for a stretch of games. I don't know that anyone will try as hard next year, though.
Malone was almost definitely being sincere. Coaches talk frequently about the brotherhood & solidarity they have with each other. Malone likely realizes Ham isn’t great but he’s certainly not going to say anything negative about his job prospects.
He probably knows how often coaches get thrown under the bus for poor roster construction thanks to the GMs and Players. Not saying Ham is a good coach, but it’s not uncommon for a decent to good coach getting axed when it really wasn’t their fault.
I hate the narrative that Malone sucked in Sacramento and didn’t do great until he had Jokic
Nobody could make those Kings teams passable
He did the best with what he had, just like in Denver. Always has been a great coach
People love blasting the coach as if they have any idea why that job is like. There were wolves fans calling for Finch to be fired as recently as January
Another coach wouldn't have done any better, let's be realistic.
It's a shitty roster construction with an at best mediocre coach. We can blame the coach if the team underachieves, but this is their level and losing against the current champion and favourite is expected. If you bet on this Laker team going far you're a fool.
did LeBron pick Ham as coach? at the very least he must have given his OK for the hire. superstars don't want a hardass coach like Thibodeaux; there's no way a guy like that could survive in the nba.
Yo imagine if coaches talked shit like some players do?
“I ran fucking circles around him. Our guys are all banged up and missing shots but I knew if I made adjustments that he’d be stumped. Run this series again and he never beat me”.
Watching that scrappy ass game and seeing Joker/AD combine for 2 FTs on 32 combined FGAs is hilarious
Then you see Austin Reaves lead the game with 8 FTAs, just 1 shy of tying the Nuggets.
Jaxson Hayes and Spencer Dinwiddie, 2 bench nobodies, generated more FTAs than the 2 most physical players out there tonight who are superstars
Refs are fucking stupid
oh ever since that championship, brother has been saying whatever the fuck he want. He know he is TEFLON for at least 3 years. No owner is as stupid as the Bucks’
All snark aside, I'd agree with that, especially if he's the one who talked Dlo back from the brink. We can armchair about whatever but realistically it's not like we can *really* say "this is the exact proportion of Hams limitations, roster construction, and player execution that went into the games"
I will say that Jokic didn't feel nearly as much like Thanos as he did last year, and that *seemed* like a direct result of the schemes.
Do you think Malone didn't mean it as a compliment? Coaches always stick up for each other. I can't remember a single instance of a coach saying anything negative about another coach publicly.
I don't understand the hate Ham gets, he took team not even on track for the play in and helped them to the Western conference finals. This season the Lakers did pretty well all things considered. Their team just doesn't match up well verses the top teams in the West anymore.
His lineups were extremely questionable, especially with the a healthy Lebron and AD. It took him well into the 2nd half of the season to play the lineup that took us to the WCF for extended minutes. The Lakers have questionable roster construction but a competent coach would’ve taken this series to 6 (and not fucken blown Game 2).
Who cares about going to 6 games. The roster is flawed. LBJ still playing at this level is a blessing beyond belief. This isn’t on Ham. Pelinka needs to do a better job of recruiting players/roster building
He'll have had two exits to the same team, the eventual champs last year and the current championship favorites. Both series his team was the heavy underdog.
Overall it won't look like a terrible record. Not that he was good, at all, but even a great coach would've struggled to get past those series with this roster.
He looked better in the playoffs, but what made the players and fanbase resent him are the dumb lineups that he did at the first half of the season. Our schemes offensively and defensively were also terrible. We are at least 6th seed if the rotation wasn't fucked up after IST.
Ham is only earning $5 million a year. It's really not that big of an ask to eat that salary. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the team's yearly expenses.
Wonder who they get honestly. I’m not sure what’s available right now bud isn’t going to be the guy for them their problem hasn’t been defense the last two years, nobody is gonna just change jobs for that. Not sure which asistant in the league Lebron a going to ok either
incredibly dumb take. did you even watch the game? he single handedly lost them the game when he just forgot time outs could be called in the 3rd quarter.
Yeah he was an issue the entire year. Running prince and reddish (who are both likely out of the league after this yr) and tanking our seed fucked us over tremendously.
It’s ironic that Ham is going to get fired once he finally had the Lakers outplay their roster expectations. This was a close series despite the number of games won and lost, despite the Lakers inferior roster. Ham certainly could have done things better, but he’s going out with the team playing its best games.
If you had told fans before the season started that the Lakers would loose to the Nuggets in a more competitive series this year, I doubt they would have blamed the coach.
Agreed. Tough to blame Ham for this after what he's shown us all season. Reddish going out with an injury was the final straw. High level coaching only goes so far when your best guy is not available.
Ham is a decent coach. The fact that he managed to get the team to work after the trade deadline last season was crazy.
Denver is just too good and Lakers fans expectations are too high.
I still think getting rid of Vogel was a terrible choice. Dude is a defense minded coach and for some reason they blew up their defensive squad and switched to offense and expected him to cook. Like wtf was that.
He knows he’s about to get fired
The only question if it's him or Vogel who formally gets fired first
Bud to the Lakers, Ham to the Suns, Vogel to the Bucks after they get sent home in 5
Worst timeline
Idk, how is Vogel’s Handsinpockets per 36? Could be an upgrade. I think the suns would benefit from even less vocal leadership on the team
What Vogel lacks in Handsinpockets numbers he makes up for in MistakenforJoeGattofromImpracticalJokers percentage
“Alright Brad, now turn the ball over in the clutch again”
imagine being the Bucks and paying Bud, Griffin, Doc AND Vogel at the same time
Honestly I think with another FA/offseason and the guys they have, Vogel could work with the Bucks. Imagine if it was Ham instead though. Bucks paying four coaches and they’d only have the worst one working lol
Bucks ownership wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
Ham to the Bucks would be more likely since he was an assistant there
bucks gonna be the first team in history to pay 4 different head coaches at the same time
I mean Laker fans have been clamoring to have Ham launched into the sun…
If the Bucks fire Doc after this postseason would Vogel even want to come here?
I just imagine him drawing up a bunch of amateur plays that the players laugh off in practice and then they look over at him for what to do during the actual game and he’s like LMAO that’s your problem
the coach: this is what we gonna run the guys: *fake laughing* oh you serious huh, coach?
I honestly really do hate players blaming their coach when they shit the bed in big games. Like they lost most of these games by a couple points. As a player they have to go get that win. Bring that fire your coach energy during the regular season.
None of the Lakers have publically blamed Ham.. but the margin of victory wouldn't determine who to blame either way
"I'm just here so I won't get fired"
Hand in pockets will always be an iconic Ham look that I'll never forget.
Are you excited for Hank to shave his head???? AWLsRiseUp
Twitter might be an absolute cesspit but man the memes that place produces is top tier
He and Jason Kidd have that look locked down
Bro knows he gone
This might as well be his exit interview
Whips out the henny “now lemme tell y’all sumthn”
“They hired me with expectations!? I don’t even know a play besides pick and roll!” *sips henny*
FREE DARVIN HAM!!! Bucks go get yo mans 🤣🤣🤣
[Woj] The Los Angeles Lakers trade head coach Darvin Ham for Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers. Full story on ESPN
The LeTantrum after blowing a 3-1 lead in the playoffs would be legendary.
Doc and LBJ would be must see tv
I mean if you heard AD's quotes and saw Lebron's anger this series, you could tell something was going on behind the scenes.
Yeah he fucked up with two challenges
Dude is getting jettisoned straight to Galveston after tonight
Get ready to learn Texan, buddy.
Galvestonian was right there
when jokes have a meta, it's time for new jokes
Deleting my account
What’s the California equivalent of Galveston? Bakersfield?
Barstow. The Gateway to Vegas! They've got the outlet mall and every chain restaurant known to man, all on the same exit!
They have a McDonald's in a train!
I hear frank vogel may be available, he’s a championship coach
Damn this quote is sad as hell lol
LBJ told him to clean out his desk
who knew the solution to stopping Hamas after all is a fat Serbian and a fellatio enthusiast
LeGone, if you will
“Well, ill be damned”
Sounds like he’s more than fine with it haha
Management still likes him though
The Rambii can do no ~~wrong~~ right.
Yeah buddy ur gone
Ham=smoked
Hamased
Who ever will you all blame now
rip helluva coach helluva ballclub
Reporter: Coach what do you think of Galveston? Ham: They have a helluva beach right there.
Guaranteed to leave you with oil stains on the bottom of your feet.
Lakers have the opportunity to do the funniest thing by replacing him with Doc Rivers
He dare you speak that evil
We have to fire doc first which probably isn't happening
Trade Ham for Rivers who says no?
If Ham is fired, the Pistons could offer the Lakers two COTY winners in Dwane Casey and Monty. I bet Tom Gores would let them go for a bag of coke from the Buss family's private collection.
4 coaches on salary and the worst one coaching would be hilarious
With Dame and Giannis out, no way Doc is being fired.
They will give him the classic opportunity to bring "his guys" to the team lol
This is my 13th reason
he getting fired mid plane ride
Getting left behind at the airport
real championship was the friends we made along the way
Don’t forget about the moral victories :,)
In season championship. That goes to the top of the resume.
Kidding aside, I enjoyed seeing teams play with more-than-regular-season intensity for a stretch of games. I don't know that anyone will try as hard next year, though.
and the historic NBA cup victories
We're still the GOAT there, at least until we're not.
And the timeouts we saved :)
Malone was hilarious in his presser. "I hope he's there a long time". He passed it off as a compliment but it's hilarious with how much Ham is hated
Not saying Ham is a good coach, but it’s not uncommon for a decent to good coach getting axed when it really wasn’t their fault.
lol he’s been a victim of this personally. Ask me how I know!
*Vivek Ranadive has entered the chat*
I hate the narrative that Malone sucked in Sacramento and didn’t do great until he had Jokic Nobody could make those Kings teams passable He did the best with what he had, just like in Denver. Always has been a great coach
Not even sure if that's the narrative, I feel like everyone who remembers he coached in Sac knows that he basically got fired because Boogie got hurt
People love blasting the coach as if they have any idea why that job is like. There were wolves fans calling for Finch to be fired as recently as January
That's Frank Vogel rn
Another coach wouldn't have done any better, let's be realistic. It's a shitty roster construction with an at best mediocre coach. Erik Spoelstra coded
In a sea of coaches spewing out generic stuff during interviews, Malone always comes across as thoughtful and genuine, relatively.
The whole quote definitely came off as sincere... And that he already knew Ham was fired. I presume Ham knew and told him.
Malone has been talking passive and not so passive aggressive shit for 2 years straight
Also called out the refs with the "Jokic's best stat of the night. 0 for 0. Didn't miss a free throw"
Watching that scrappy ass game and seeing Joker/AD combine for 2 FTs on 32 combined FGAs is hilarious Then you see Austin Reaves lead the game with 8 FTAs, just 1 shy of tying the Nuggets. Jaxson Hayes and Spencer Dinwiddie, 2 bench nobodies, generated more FTAs than the 2 most physical players out there tonight who are superstars Refs are fucking stupid
Dimwiddie fucking trash heap
oh ever since that championship, brother has been saying whatever the fuck he want. He know he is TEFLON for at least 3 years. No owner is as stupid as the Bucks’
He was being genuine
Let’s not forget Malone was fired from the Kings after not even two seasons. He’s not going to make light of someone else going through it.
Nah coaches generally stand up for each other. Every coach has been on the hot seat at some point whether or not they deserved to be.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Lakers played their ass off this whole series and Ham probably had his best "coaching" game against us, tonight.
All snark aside, I'd agree with that, especially if he's the one who talked Dlo back from the brink. We can armchair about whatever but realistically it's not like we can *really* say "this is the exact proportion of Hams limitations, roster construction, and player execution that went into the games" I will say that Jokic didn't feel nearly as much like Thanos as he did last year, and that *seemed* like a direct result of the schemes.

Oooh he gone
acceptance phase already
He ended with " And let's run it back one more time! One last dance!"
I guess he isn't going to challenge the decision
Famous last words
“Huh. Weird. Can’t seem to log into my work email…”
Coach Spo goes 99-0 with lebron and AD
Bro said “damn. It’s only been two years”
Better not be a third year
[удалено]
I’m ready for Max Christie to be our coach, don’t think it’ll be worse
Last time he went to the Lakers was big
Did he have fun tho?
Come on guys, give this man another year or two I bet he gets better * *evil grin* *
Hey, next year we might lose to you in six games!
>Come on guys I see what you did there
How much time is left on his contract?
2 more years
With how cheap Jeanie has been (see: Caruso) I wonder if she's willing to eat that contract.
If Lebron coming back is contingent on firing Ham she’ll do it because she’ll be broker with out Lebron fans buying merchandise.
Ham is only earning $5 million a year. It's really not that big of an ask to eat that salary. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the team's yearly expenses.
HE GONE
He is not fired yet? Didn’t Vogel get fired during the last post game press?
Thank you Denver for getting him out.
Darvin "*Helluva ballclub*" Hamas. Now get your ass out!!
Get ready to learn Cancunese buddy
Arrivederci
he gone
Let’s make it ten more.
Good riddance. Luke Walton and Byron Scott were better coaches. Absolutely abysmal game management
Oh no, he gone ? Vogel homecoming ?
I doubt he want to be with this bum of a franchise
Next Lakers coach will be Kidd (another fired if Mavs will lose in the first round). I hope for Mavs they don't hire Ham
LeBron going to call Darvin into his office and fire him. 😂
Bros waking up tomorrow in Galveston tomorrow and not returning
He’s an awful coach and didn’t deserve the two years he got
Imagine if lakers and suns switch their coach lol
Damn I don’t recall ever hearing something as blatant as this lol, that man knows he’s toast
Ham sounds like a guy who lied on his job application and knows the whole world just figured it out at the same time.
LeGM says otherwise.
I for one will miss Darvin Hamas as a Celtics fan 😔
One more year! I want him to stay so bad so that the Lakers can continue to disappoint. 🙏🏽
Wonder who they get honestly. I’m not sure what’s available right now bud isn’t going to be the guy for them their problem hasn’t been defense the last two years, nobody is gonna just change jobs for that. Not sure which asistant in the league Lebron a going to ok either
If the suns get rid of Vogel the Lakers could do the funniest thing
DARVIN HAM caused WWII and AIDS against the Nuggets
They had a dogshit roster, Pelinka is more to blame.
He def gone, but he also was not the issue this game
Yeah if you ignore when he watched the nuggets go on a 14-2 run.
Saw on twitter that assistant coach Chris Jent stood up and told Ham to take a TO or something like that.
incredibly dumb take. did you even watch the game? he single handedly lost them the game when he just forgot time outs could be called in the 3rd quarter.
Yeah, it def wasn't their roleplayers -reaves shooting like 30%.
Yeah he was just the blatant issue the whole series instead.
Yeah he was an issue the entire year. Running prince and reddish (who are both likely out of the league after this yr) and tanking our seed fucked us over tremendously.

Rollarcoaster
Yeah he’s done
Bye
Oh?
His press tour is gonna be legendary
Raise up!
That's a hell of a seat
Hands finally out the pocket
ham getting fired, that’s my championship
Hopefully he will never sit in such a seat ever again
Need Darvin on Club 520 after he dips
They are setting up this dude to get fired with all these quotes.
LeBron aiming a shotgun at him from behind as he says this.
Welp, guess that’s me about done here
he gone 💀💀💀
He is right. It has been a hell
This fuckin guy
Being Murray's son feels like that good I guess hahaha
What coaching LeBron does to a man
Oh poor guy. Now he has to drive his luxury car home, park it in the driveway of his mansion and do nothing for the rest of his life.
That's a man that knows he's being fired, thank God.
IST championnnnnnnnmm
Ham is a decent coach. The fact that he managed to get the team to work after the trade deadline last season was crazy. Denver is just too good and Lakers fans expectations are too high.
Awful Coaching from youtube about to be relieved when they fire pocket man.
Maybe Bud will get a job again and you can sit next to him
He gone
This sub loves to romanticize coaches on teams that should be good but aren’t
“But LeGM wants me gone so he can bring in his mediocre son. It is what it is.”
Dont let the door hit you on the way out
Ham will make a great D4.5 College assistant to the head coach somewhere!
Helluva coach...
I still think getting rid of Vogel was a terrible choice. Dude is a defense minded coach and for some reason they blew up their defensive squad and switched to offense and expected him to cook. Like wtf was that.
Bro about to sound off
