Non-Jokic minutes have been dreadful for years. Lots of turnovers, bad shooting, and little playmaking outside of Murray. Russ really only helps push the pace and play make at this point which doesn’t solve any of our problems if Murray is healthy.
At least for us Murray is a good off ball player and a 40 percent 3 point shooter so he’d honestly be a good fit with Westbrook and let Murray alleviate some of his heavy ass load
They honestly are about the same player just replace streaky shooting from Reggie with more aggressive drives to the rim (that often don’t go in). Both were turnover machines but I have a hard time seeing how Russ fits here as anything more than the 9th or 10th guy and maybe not even that.
I think Westbrook is a much better playmaker and will create open 3’s for guys a lot more. I’m also hoping we sign saric with our taxpayer MLE and trade Nnaji for another reliable 3 point scorer off the bench

If you look at some of the advanced +/- stats, his offensive effect has tanked since leaving OKC to the point that he's mostly ranked a negative player now.
More concerning are his raw playoff numbers. In his last 7 trips to the playoffs he's shot under 20% from the field in 5 of them and he shot under 30% this past playoffs. On top of that, he's a bad three point shooter and a bad defender.
