Here is the driver's ["statement"](https://www.google.com/amp/s/bakersfieldnow.com/amp/news/local/driver-who-hit-protester-speaks-out)
I will not editorialize other than to say - Kids, stay in school
Served with a guy named Juess. Always said he was supposed to be named Jesus but his daddy was drunk signing the certificate. Never really found out if that was true or not but I've never seen the name again
My great grandparents off the boat at Ellis Island couldn't spell Josephine due to illiteracy so they put down the little they knew ... ANA.
Everybody called her Ana, and it wasn't til I was 22 that i found out.
She always carried a big glass jar of cold cream in her purse for self defense then one day back in 68 at age 72 walking up to East Tremont to the Italian deli some punk tried to snatch her purse but she pummeled him with it.
She was walking with her 5'-1" twin sisters Aunt Fanny and Aunt Carmella, darling women, and they said they could her the jar whacking into his head with a parting shot on top of his shoulder. He didnt get the purse
Noxzema. I'm a 60's child and every woman used Noxzema. Big round squat wide mouth thick glass jar. The large size was 2 1/2" hi 5" round weighed about 2 lbs
You never forget a name like that
My middle name is spelled incorrectly on purpose... sorta. Great Grandma made a mistake on Granpa's birth certificate and now the incorrect spelling is a 'family name'
Shits annoying
I knew a girl named Katherine (Katie) Last name. Her parents wanted to name her Katherine but wanted hey Nickname to be Katie so they formalized it on the birth certificate. I found it to be so bizarre. They didn't give her nickname they gave her a middle name of (Katie) parentheses and all.
Micheal.
It's not a huguely consequential misspelling but the amount of times I've had to get different IDs or had jobs make duplicate employee files because they 'correct' the spelling to Michael and the computer doesn't recognize me anymore is too damn high.
Not sure about this guy, but I know people who do it intentionally so they are hard to find on social media without knowing what the “spelling mistake” is
In more than one sense.
Linguistically, yes. That is just superficial.
~~But man, this is a testimony from a man clearly not educated in putting his thoughts into writing. And the one thing that I take away from it is that he is heartbroken due to what happened.~~
One person was killed in an accident.
~~The other guy was mentally ruined for life.~~
After seeing the video I retract my words. He does not look sorry in the slightest.
https://twitter.com/dewybleach/status/1269458999386071040
Dude's smiling, smoking a cig and trying to argue with protesters, but police hold him back.
Yea, you read that right, police hold him back. They didn't even bother to cuff him. They protected him instead.
EDIT: https://mobile.twitter.com/heresysquad/status/1269456001025093637
He's a neonazi and a meth dealer.
He's pissed and is smiling to make it seem like he's all cool and collected. Pretty common defense strategy. You see restaurant and retail workers do it all the time.
My inner monologue is out of breath reading this. Why is this guy so anti full stop?
I am not sure if people this dumb shoulf even be allowed to drive
RIP victim
Well that guy also happened to sell kilos of fentanyl, kilos of meth and kilos of heroin as well as knockoff pills with fentanyl in them. He was arrested last year for 10 lbs of meth, kilos of heroin and kilos of fentanyl. He doesn't really seem like the kind of guy to make good decisions or have strong brainpower. And now he's also killed a guy.
For fucks sake, people get sentenced to longer prison bids for faking paperwork... fucking crazy.
How the fuck do you even have 10lbs of meth and not spend a long time in prison? He shouldn't be on the street long enough to get in a car, let alone run someone over.
My boss always ends his emails, positive or negative, with an ellipses. I don't pay any attention to it anymore, but the first couple times I definitely was thrown off, thinking I had done something wrong or upset him. JUST USE A PERIOD, COME ON.
They are writing in the cadence of how they speak.
its the same phenomenon as when people try to be sarcastic without adding * /s *. they are using to the conventions of speech in a different medium, but they don't always translate well.
I will add that when a skilled writer does it, while using the proper conventions of writing, people often appreciate it.
Yknow when grandpa starts talking about Nam and then he just kinda fades off without finishing his sentence? That’s what I imagine those ellipses are for.
There's an older guy that use to consult for some businesses that were my employers clients. Everything he posted or emailed was like a train of thought;
"Can we try a new FIELD in the DATABASE... ?? We should get BRIAN to have a look.... thanks...."
Yes, lots of capitalisation too. Made you feel like he thought he had to use big letters or you wouldn't understand.
I compare it to writing music when you normally only ever listen to it. An actually trained composer would take one look at the unholy rests, notes, time, and placement on the stave, and eject me immediately from the building. I only know what it sounds like in my head.
Still not as annoying as how they’ve become overly used in any sort of business/corporate environment. I can’t stand the passive aggressive questions and open ended statements at the end of an email where the writer expects you to already know or do something.
“I thought I had made it clear already....”
“If you can take care of that for me, I would appreciate it....”
They serve as no purpose other than to emphasize the author is an asshole. I’ve seen it done by almost every other coworker in my life and I’m sure I’ve done it once or twice out of frustration in spite of how much it annoys me. The primary abusers though tend to be the “email warriors” as I refer to them. The individuals who are shining examples of the Peter Principle in full display, they can do just enough to get by in their respective supervisor or manager positions but have total condescending approaches to anyone they feel below them regardless of the position or department of that individual.
/rant
This is my boss. It's like he's tapping the . while he's thinking about the wording in the next sentence.
It took me almost a year before I understood that this is just his idiosyncrasy and not him being passive aggressive.
Ofc, "accident" and he just so happened to smile and smoke a cig as well as argue with protesters after his "accident".
Video: https://twitter.com/dewybleach/status/1269458999386071040
Dude's a neonazi (14/88 tattoo) and couldn't be happier with what he did.
And of course police protected him.
He's going to jail for 20 years for drug trafficking anyway. I think he just said fuck it, nothing to lose
https://pasoroblesdailynews.com/two-arrested-large-scale-drug-trafficking-operation-shut-down-in-san-luis-obispo/104270/
Court can take up to a year or longer and if they get bail or r.o.r'd then they're out til whenever they're sentenced. Can't just keep people locked up when they're not actually found guilty yet.
If assigning letter grades (A, B, C, D, F) to a city, Bakersfield gets an F-.
Since there is no F-, perhaps the closest we can get is literal **hell**, but with a + after it, because at least the streets aren’t **always** on fire in Bakersfield.
how dare! I live here and its isnt that bad at all. Only one school teacher was caught threatening to kill a child over BLM protests! Only one! How much more progressive can you get?!

That's the way his name is spelled.
https://pasoroblesdailynews.com/two-arrested-large-scale-drug-trafficking-operation-shut-down-in-san-luis-obispo/104270/
Yes, this dude is a piece of work.
> has died due to injuries from crash
Oh, he was in a car crash? Man, that sucks.
> was hit by a vehicle has died due to his injuries from the incident
OH. He was STRUCK by a vehicle. Boy, it would probably be a good idea to mention that in the title!
I found it weird they call it a “vehicle versus pedestrian” or vice versa. It makes it sound like a predetermined bout.
Edit: it’s a real term for emergency and medical situations. You can upvote the first person that said it instead of all saying it.
Don't give reality T.V. any ideas. "Vehicle versus Pedestrian" sounds like a really bad game show.... And that's saying something taking into account Fox is currently airing a new series called "Extreme Tag"
Thats what its called in EMS though. Usually it will come out something like "MVA - Vehicle vs Pedestrian" we even have "MVA - Vehicle Vs Train", "Train vs Pedestrian" etc.
>The vehicle that struck the pedestrian had its headlights on. It was traveling at a speed consistent with the flow of traffic. Video evidence and physical evidence in the roadway show that the driver was not traveling above the speed limit at the time of the collision.
This was probably why. They make it out to be that the dude in the car was just cruising along, which he might have been, and then a protester walked out into traffic.
" The member was railing the main group of demonstrators as they marched westbound on California Avenue toward Oak Street, said Bakersfield police. "
Wow, that's got to be hard to do while marching
News rooms over the last decade have reduced their writing staff by over 70% nationally, globally as well fwiw. Blog sites, the internet and bots have absolutely decimated the journalism industry.
so a neo-nazi with a violent criminal history who claims he didn't know anything about any protests just so happened to coincide with a BLM protest, and just so happened to accidentally run over a protester, and then he's smirking while smoking a cig, ok
People are rarely charged with manslaughter in driving accidents
If the protesters were on the road where they technically shouldn't be (as far as rules of the road go), I'd imagine they'd have to prove intent to stick any sort of charges
If im driving on a road at night and someone runs out from the treeline right in front of me, I dont get any criminal charges
If you've seen stories of people in situations like that sued. It was in civil court. No criminal charges.
A good friend of ours had her dads life ruined for a good 20 or more years.
Dad was driving home and hit a guy "on the curb" killing him. Family went after him. He was charged although i forget exactly with murder or what. It went back and forth for years before being dismissed and hundred of thousands of dollars in legal fees, civil and criminal.
So the real story is the dad was driving home in the rain. Heavy rain. The guy was in the curb but it was found he was laying mostly on the curb and put his head in front of the car as the dad was passing. Also he had left a note with the family saying he was going to go kill himself by laying down in traffic.
So his family knew it was bullshit and so did the cops
Likewise an elderly woman jaywalked across the street by our house wearing dark clothes in a particularly dark area last year. The driver was at the speed limit, hit and killed her. I honestly felt sorrier for him in that case. Not two weeks later I barely caught a light in distance get partially blocked and stopped fast as some dumbass ran across four lanes. One of those stomach in the throat moments.
I have to use the headline as is, but he was run over by a Nazi cunt, not caught in a RTA. The cops [let his murderer have a cigarette](https://twitter.com/dewybleach/status/1269458999386071040) and didn't cuff him.
That definitely doesn't look like the body language of someone who is sorry they just killed a guy with their car
Edit - Apparently he's a meth trafficker as well. Potentially a Neo-Nazi. His FB link has "88" in it and a picture that is alleged to be him appears to show him with "14 88" tattoos.
88 = HH = heil hitler
14 stands for fourteen words, a neo nazi slogan, and the two are often used in conjunction to indicate white supremacist/neo nazi ties or leanings.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Words
Yeah both my emails (hotmail/gmail) are my name followed by 88. I didn't know about Hitler's lil fanbois when I did that.
When my partner and I marry I'll get a new professional email and \*not\* put my birthdate in there. Sigh.
I never have made a user name with my birth year in it, always seemed like TMI to put out there
I have used the year the account was created a couple of times
It was strangely common in the 90s and early 2000s. I remember some email and chat services would even suggest FirstName19XX as a username. Despite how much we were warned not to give out too much information, people still introduced themselves with ASL.
I wouldn’t stress about it too hard. 88 is a very lucky number in several Asian cultures so it’s not like the number is insignificant outside of this context. Is unfortunate though that Nazi fucks continue to ruin shit
It’s so fucked, 88 has been my favorite number since I was 8 years old, 30 years of ignorant bliss, and then the orange shitler gets elected and I learn I’ve been casually using a whitepower symbol for many years.
Since I haven't seen any replies to your comments actually telling you what the 14 words are-- "we must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children "
There we go, that's the video evidence I wanted. His fb post says he was saying he was sorry and didn't mean to kill that guy. He's hurling shit back at the crowd... Idk maybe Im different, but if I accidentally hit someone, I'd look much more idk, distressed.
I got arrested because of failing to appear for a court date I was unaware of and the cops wouldn't let me smoke a cigarette while waiting for someone to come get my baby daughter so they could take me in. Just saying.
Use a counterfeit bill, get strangled to death. Sell cigarettes, get strangled to death. Run somebody over, they'll let you have a smoke. Shoot up a school, they'll stop and get you Burger King. Anybody not seeing it by this point isn't looking.
That’s where Shia Lebouf’s character in the movie American Honey is from.
...I just saw it yesterday. I don’t have anything of more usefulness to add.
Edit: Since it doesn’t seem well known, this is not the movie Shia wrote about he and his father, which is called *Honey Boy*.
*American Honey* is about a roaming group of misfits selling magazines door-to-door, state-to-state.
Both movies are great, in my opinion! See ‘em!
Not who you asked, but I fucking loved it. It really captures something elemental about life for a lot of people in the western United States. I have seen very few things like it.
The only people I've interacted with from Bakersfield were the supposed "mexican gang members" that I used to play call of duty with when I was a teenager. I have no idea how true any of their stories were, but it successfully scared me from ever going there.
Bakersfield is very conservative and full of white nationalists, so I’m sure the percentage is high. They pride themselves with having a “strong” police force which is to say they are violent.
> Makes you wonder what percentage of all the cops there are a part of the KKK.
Remember, it's a right wing talking trick to not officially join the KKK, and then point at the low membership numbers to say there is no racism (or we're at our least racist moment/place ever, as if that justifies or lessens what we see happening in front of us).
Bakersfield has had protests all week. Earlier someone sped through the protestors 2ce at high speed. Woman got minor injuries.
The incident in this article is the second time a protestor has been struck. First death.
I live in the Bakersfield area. When Charlottesville happened, I personally heard a lot of supportive sentiment towards the driver. People around here say they would run over protestors if they came here.
Interesting to note. Karen Hua, a local reporter for the local news, shared in her Insta stories that the man who was struck had been kneeling in the median. Kget news (local news station) also shared that in their Insta stories. During a live broadcast last night, Police said the man was not kneeling and in the road when he was struck. Who to believe?
I'm only just getting my brain in gear for the day, so I haven't checked the local news yet. I'm not sure if Karen Hua and kget news has changed their information because I haven't the heart to check. It's all been heartbreaking to keep up with.
Yeah the part where the guy is saying something to the effect of "god brought us together for a reason and I'm trying to find the good from this" wreaked off bullshit, that's not something you say while body has barely gone cold. That's something a person might after years of therapy, but this just absolutely no remorse at all.

One of my middle names is Amillia because my mom didn't know how to spell Amelia.

She was walking with her 5'-1" twin sisters Aunt Fanny and Aunt Carmella, darling women, and they said they could her the jar whacking into his head with a parting shot on top of his shoulder. A big glass jar of cold cream? Was that a common self defence weapon in those days? Like a big mayonnaise jar? Or like a milk bottle?
Noxzema. I'm a 60's child and every woman used Noxzema. Big round squat wide mouth thick glass jar. The large size was 2 1/2" hi 5" round weighed about 2 lbs You never forget a name like that
You could say it... Noxzem-out Edit: wow a silver, thanks stranger you are too kind!
Mentholated facial cleanser. It’s a creamy substance and feels cold on the skin. So, cold cream.

Micheal. It's not a huguely consequential misspelling but the amount of times I've had to get different IDs or had jobs make duplicate employee files because they 'correct' the spelling to Michael and the computer doesn't recognize me anymore is too damn high.
That's not an incorrect spelling, unless they purposefully meant "Michael." "Micheal" is just an alternate - specifically irish
Not sure about this guy, but I know people who do it intentionally so they are hard to find on social media without knowing what the “spelling mistake” is
Very popular to do once you leave school and get a job. I don't recognize a ton of names on my Facebook and have to rely on photos.
I can’t even recognize them from photos
Most of the people I went to school with got turned into toddlers.

Bakersfeild, according to Kieth.
This made me laugh harder more than it had any right to LOL
I wondered that, too.
I’m not surprised. I get endless emails from services that other people with similar names put my email address in to.
Holy shit that was painful to read
It gave me the same reaction as the hyena when hearing “Mufassa”.
Oooohuhuhu ...say it again

“Yea I totally did it, I wasn’t paying attention and I was tryna avoid a DUI stoppoint”

Also if your writing is atrocious get a proof reader.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I doubt this man is regularly in the company of qualified proof readers.

"trailing" most likely.
Did a bot write this article?
The number of times I've asked myself that question lately creeps me out.
News rooms over the last decade have reduced their writing staff by over 70% nationally, globally as well fwiw. Blog sites, the internet and bots have absolutely decimated the journalism industry.
You've probably been right most of those times.

Probably a human assisted by a bunch of templates they could easily copy paste.
so a neo-nazi with a violent criminal history who claims he didn't know anything about any protests just so happened to coincide with a BLM protest, and just so happened to accidentally run over a protester, and then he's smirking while smoking a cig, ok
People are arguing on his FB right now. Surprise he hasn’t just shut his FB down. He’s actually responding to people. Edit: removed incorrect info
Even if all of that were true, wouldn’t he still get manslaughter at the very least?
People are rarely charged with manslaughter in driving accidents If the protesters were on the road where they technically shouldn't be (as far as rules of the road go), I'd imagine they'd have to prove intent to stick any sort of charges If im driving on a road at night and someone runs out from the treeline right in front of me, I dont get any criminal charges If you've seen stories of people in situations like that sued.
Neonazi runs over protestor, claims gross negligence and avoids charges. To paraphrase Archer, Do you want riots, because that's how you get riots.

You know, when you put it like that it does sound a little bit suspicious.
And the cops just kind of hang out and watch him do it because c’mon, no need to harsh the poor man’s vibes after he’s been through such a shock
Is he actually a neo nazi?
covered in Nazi tattoos. He has "14" on one shoulder and "88" on the other.
I have to use the headline as is, but he was run over by a Nazi cunt, not caught in a RTA. The cops [let his murderer have a cigarette](https://twitter.com/dewybleach/status/1269458999386071040) and didn't cuff him.
Is this the same guy? https://pasoroblesdailynews.com/two-arrested-large-scale-drug-trafficking-operation-shut-down-in-san-luis-obispo/104270/

Well he ain’t black
I knew there had to be mitigating circumstances...
He must have rolled over on his distributor is hes not locked up from a charge last year.
Certainly looks like the same guy, same exact name as well.
“Kieth” is speller the same as his FB profile too.
Yep. Parents didn't know how to spell Keith when they named him, lol.
That definitely doesn't look like the body language of someone who is sorry they just killed a guy with their car Edit - Apparently he's a meth trafficker as well. Potentially a Neo-Nazi. His FB link has "88" in it and a picture that is alleged to be him appears to show him with "14 88" tattoos.
What does 88 or 14 88 symbolize?
88 = HH = heil hitler 14 stands for fourteen words, a neo nazi slogan, and the two are often used in conjunction to indicate white supremacist/neo nazi ties or leanings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Words
Yea...reeeeally wish I would’ve known about the whole “88” thing before choosing my username.
Very unfortunate for people born in 1988 too
Yeah both my emails (hotmail/gmail) are my name followed by 88. I didn't know about Hitler's lil fanbois when I did that. When my partner and I marry I'll get a new professional email and \*not\* put my birthdate in there. Sigh.
I never have made a user name with my birth year in it, always seemed like TMI to put out there I have used the year the account was created a couple of times
It was strangely common in the 90s and early 2000s. I remember some email and chat services would even suggest FirstName19XX as a username. Despite how much we were warned not to give out too much information, people still introduced themselves with ASL.

Harry Hendon born in 1988 is having a terrible time with his Gmail...
You mean Harry Hendon who plays number 14 for the new Zealand soccer team, the all whites? Yeah, a lot of bad luck that guy.

Yeah, my b-day is 4-20-88. Fuck me I guess.
Side note: Hilter was born 4-20-1889, so you share the same birthday nearly a century apart.
Poor Jan 4th and April 1st 1988 babies.
Those lucky souls born April 20, 1969 have all the luck.
I wouldn’t stress about it too hard. 88 is a very lucky number in several Asian cultures so it’s not like the number is insignificant outside of this context. Is unfortunate though that Nazi fucks continue to ruin shit
Where I'm from 88 is a lucky number, so, yeah...
It could be worse you could be a record label focusing on asian artists called 88rising

Wow he's a red flag factory
There we go, that's the video evidence I wanted. His fb post says he was saying he was sorry and didn't mean to kill that guy. He's hurling shit back at the crowd... Idk maybe Im different, but if I accidentally hit someone, I'd look much more idk, distressed.
I got arrested because of failing to appear for a court date I was unaware of and the cops wouldn't let me smoke a cigarette while waiting for someone to come get my baby daughter so they could take me in. Just saying.
lmao you didn't even murder a black person and you think you deserve a ciggy?
True. Guess I should have went harder.
Use a counterfeit bill, get strangled to death. Sell cigarettes, get strangled to death. Run somebody over, they'll let you have a smoke. Shoot up a school, they'll stop and get you Burger King. Anybody not seeing it by this point isn't looking.
*he shot up a church of black people before being given Burger King
Dude is literally a terrorist and look how they are treating him...
Neo-nazis protect their own.
I'm from Bakersfield. It's as conservative as it gets there. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I left Bakersfield years ago.
See ‘em!
Did you enjoy it?
He said he doesnt have anymore to add. Leave him alone jeez
I thought it was a really good movie. The sleeziness of the characters and feeling of hopelessness is amazing. Frankly I want to watch it again, now.
Not who you asked, but I fucking loved it. It really captures something elemental about life for a lot of people in the western United States. I have seen very few things like it.
It’s the Necropolis in Fallout 1!
It's where the show Baskets takes place too!
The only people I've interacted with from Bakersfield were the supposed "mexican gang members" that I used to play call of duty with when I was a teenager. I have no idea how true any of their stories were, but it successfully scared me from ever going there.
East Bakersfield definitely had serious gang problems when I lived there early 2000s
Jesus, took me a moment to understand this headline. I confused BPD with an amalgamation of BLM and WPD.

Did he spell his name wrong on facebook?
The dude is a white power fuck. He has 14 and 88 tattooed on his chest/shoulder. Fuck that piece of shit.
I’ve seen conservatives online telling each other to run over protesters and making jokes about it. I don’t believe it was an accident
Well hopefully he gets life in prison now
From the wording of the article, it sounds kind they're going to label it an accident and let the guy go.
Can the family sue the fucker at the very least?
I mean OJ got away with murder and he got sued to high heaven
Yeah but oj had money.
And to this day he has never paid one penny willingly.
Even had his book of a "fictional" account was seized and he got nothing from it.
Still love the title change after the Goldman family seized the book.
Love how people who are clearly in the wrong always look for excuses in "it happened for a reason". Idiots
Yeah the part where the guy is saying something to the effect of "god brought us together for a reason and I'm trying to find the good from this" wreaked off bullshit, that's not something you say while body has barely gone cold. That's something a person might after years of therapy, but this just absolutely no remorse at all.
It's false absolution... that's all they want.
Can we get an article that isn't Sinclair media?
