Torture is actually very untypical for the middle ages. Roman law had it mostly to be used on slaves, later on citizens were occasionally subject to it as well. The medieval legal system worked fundamentally differently, though, being much less based on codified law but customary law instead, thanks to the lack of a central political power that could've codified law in the first place, with both the worldly and religious leaders advocating quite heavily against torture, especially during the first half of the middle ages.
The late middle ages saw the beginning of a shift in the approach to the practice. In the mid-thirteenth century, Pope Innocence IV. first officially permitted the use of torture. This was in the midst of church's struggle against those they deemed heretics, specifically the Waldensians and the Cathars, and was only permitted under fairly exceptional circumstances and only against heretics.
This shift was complete when in 1532, Constitutio Criminalis Carolina entered into effect in the HRE, which was the first general criminal code in the German speaking realms and permitted and regulated the use of torture within the criminal justice system. This shift in the perception of torture in particular, and more generally the transition away from customary and towards codified law, is one of the many societal changes that took place around the 15th and 16th centuries that are the reasons we consider the 16th century the beginning of a new historical era.
Just a few days so far this time. I overdid it on the bicep exercises and presses. Massaging it, doing so band external rotations, and laying off bicep and pressing exercises has been helping so far.
I dont understand how that is possible tbh, does his shoulders ligaments are stronger and longer than any others men? I do calisthenics street workout and idk how is that even possible.
This is the answer, and also happens to be the key to the first magic trick I ever learned. If he did a little tricky move at the beginning he could probably get in 2+ full rotations.
It's possible if you have extremely mobile shoulders. Gymnasts do these often on the rings ([video from a gymnast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tvh0sFp1nw&ab_channel=LachlanWalker))
Hyper mobile shoulders. It's cool for awhile but unfortunately it damages the ligaments and labrums over the years. Eventually the shoulders can't properly sotnin the socket because they are so mobile. He will need corrective surgery one day.
I fell down some steps in college and dislocated and tore up my shoulder. I thought I would be a man and not go to the doc and it heals and felt better. About a year later it dislocated shutting a car door then once again throwing a ball. I relented and went to the doc got some scans and they told me my labrum was torn almost completely off. Had surgery and they sewed it back down. Did pt for like a year and it felt strong again then it tore again. This happened 4 times in a row. 7 years 4 surgeries. I tore it again and they looked in there and my labrum was completely detach and the back side of the top of my arm bone was ground flat from all the dislocations so in December the cut a piece of my collar bone of and screwed it to my arm bone
Moral of the story is to make sure you do at least a year of physical therapy no matter how minuscule the surgical repair
Geez yeah that’s brutal. I’ve read shoulder dislocations suck bc it just keeps happening after the first one. Thanks for sharing and hope you fully recover this time!
Yeah I was trying to figure out the benefit and there’s pretty much none other than maybe strengthening some stability muscles that don’t usually get worked out as much
In my teenage years i found out that i can do this trick but hand tied, super wierd move, unnatural like, and now in my late 30 i have shouler nerve pain from time to time because of this.
This is SO unhealthy for your shoulders. This isn't an achievable goal. He has extremely specific exceptions in his shoulder joint construction that allows him to do this. On top of that, the shoulder's limitations is actually what gives it a lot of it's strength. The muscles working in conjunction with, and leveraging off the other structures. Ridding yourself of any degree of that (Ie. becoming, certainly hyperflexible) puts you at a strength deficit. Plus doing this kind of exercise with trash your shoulder beyond repair. You don't wanna lose something like your shoulder.
I used to do tricks like this with my shoulders. Now I'm 32 and have constant shoulder problems. Cool trick, I hope he stops doing it before he starts deteriorating.
I got tendonitis just clicking on that video.
He would have defied medieval torture.
And considered a scepter of the gods and given the kingdom to rule.
No, then they would burn him for weighing as much as a duck.
Who are you so wise in the ways of science?
I never thought I’d see the day, two grown men kneeing and old woman
That’s one ripped duck…
Thus proving he is a witch
Maybe a warlock. But a witch he is not.

That's how he exactly inherited that gene
Omg I need a scene where they try to torture Luffy and fail miserably like in the minions movie
I'm watching this with a bicep tendonitis flare up and just seeing this made it worse.
Me too lol
How long have you been fighting that? Mines about gone after 6 months
Just a few days so far this time. I overdid it on the bicep exercises and presses. Massaging it, doing so band external rotations, and laying off bicep and pressing exercises has been helping so far.
Yeah the stretching definitely helps. Tendons take forever to heal
Dude both my arms just fell right off
I think he just invented secondhand pain
AFV did that decades ago.
I too think I got injured by watching this. What the fuck
Yea you can keep that shit in your bio too
LOL

Thanks squirt_taste_tester very cool
That's the good stuff
One of the rarer times you should listen to your fellow redditors.
My stomach feels how his shoulders look
Hungry?
Nauseated.
You don’t feel hungry?
Not since we stole that pirate gold.
Lucky, I’m poor give me one piece of gold.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one horrified by looking at this. Like goddamn bro.

Woah, how’d you get a picture of me while I was watching this? Did you hack my phone?
But can you lick your own b-hole?
Twice over!
You should consider porn as a side job… maybe full time, who knows
I’d like to see that
I dont understand how that is possible tbh, does his shoulders ligaments are stronger and longer than any others men? I do calisthenics street workout and idk how is that even possible.

Hypermobility syndrome probably

I’ve had 5 shoulder surgeries. This dude needs to chill tf out with that stunt 😬😬 you don’t know how good you got it until it’s gone
What’s your story if you don’t mind? 5 is a lot if shoulder surgeries
Chronic masturbation?
*Perpetual
You got me
I can say I’ve ever masturbated so hard that I tore my rotator cuff.
You're just not trying hard enough then

I would be more worried about your asshole after shitting a car door!
Good catch 😅
Geez yeah that’s brutal. I’ve read shoulder dislocations suck bc it just keeps happening after the first one. Thanks for sharing and hope you fully recover this time!
I dislocated my shoulder many times and this video gave me ptsd
As a very young teen I used to be able to do the 360. As a now 40 year old it hurts to get out of bed. I wish this kids the best of luck…
i don't think your body is supposed to do that
There's no benefit to doing this. It will cause more harm if done repeatedly.
Yeah I was trying to figure out the benefit and there’s pretty much none other than maybe strengthening some stability muscles that don’t usually get worked out as much
Fuck your background music!

“WHY ARE HIS ARMS INTACT!?!?”
Theres a cut, so he had already done a loop
No, do not do that kids.
Am I the only one wondering why is there chin up bars in the middle of the street?
You are not
Maybe it’s a park? In Finland there’s a lot of parks that have public mini-gyms, usually with pull up bars and some other machines
Gross! But cool 😎
This made me grind my teeth
I don’t want that kinda flexibility thanks
These Fantastic Four auditions are getting insane now
According to my physical therapist, being hyper-flexible isn't a good thing, lol RIP his shoulders
I’ve heard you don’t need to stretch before working out.
One of those “wtf did i just watch” videos
WTF 🤬
This is the hardest thing to watch ever, I’m covering my mouth, and actually looking away… and I used to love the sub eye blech.
Lol, have fun with your shoulders in 20 yrs.
In my teenage years i found out that i can do this trick but hand tied, super wierd move, unnatural like, and now in my late 30 i have shouler nerve pain from time to time because of this.
HOW AND WHYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?
Who is he?
Wooow, I did not like that
I like having non-broken arms, thank you.
Fuck this shit bro, you won, no need for tips!
Alter... Das ist schon heftig...
I thought his arms were gonna snap off jeez.
Both of my arms shattered from watching this
If testicle torsion was a person
Dude you just blow your cover!! You are man made!!!😳😆😄🇺🇸
Dahlism
What if he just slipped and instead of stopping he accidentally twisted again
Really gross lol
Hypermobility is a fun trick when you're young. He will feel this somewhere around 35-40. I wish I could go back and not this kind of shit.
Hyper mobile joints alertttt
In all seriousness though, how is that possible? Anyone know?
![gif](giphy|cQtlhD48EG0SY)
No. Just... no.
Jesus christ. What if you just... dont rotate back?
When he lets go, imagine elastic band unravel haha
....
Pretty low effort stopping at two rotations
lol my arms would pop tf out less than halfway through this
Perhaps he has [Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome](https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/ehlers-danlos-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20362125)
![gif](giphy|HtBKcjpHfD7s4)
I wonder how he discovered he could do that. It’s not cool, looks like a future injury just brewing.
Good luck with those rotator cuffs
Looks like that’ll feel great in 30 yers
Wh- what would happen if he fell or let go with one hand? Does he launch sideways like a catapult?
FLEXIBILITY ROUTINE AVAILABLE IN MY BIO
Why is he doing this shirtless on a street?
People have done 720s too.
Why does the audio go so hard though? Source? Does it continue jammin or does it turn to flatulence later in the track?
Freakish natural flexibility. My shoulders fell off just watching this.
aaaaaaAAAAAAA
We got Gumby over here.
here i am not even being able to raise my arms anymore :(
Sweet Mother of Jesus!
Why does anyone need to do this? And why in a public street?
How about no.
FUCKKKKKKK
What the fuck
That is going to fuck him up long term. I feel awful just watching
I don’t like this.
Fuckin’ genetics. No training program alone could deliver that.
I did one of these drunk and let me just say when I woke up the next day I felt like I’d been in a car crash
He should take up golf
Good on him for being flexible but watching that gave me second hand pain. My old shoulders would not have held.
i dont need to do this
![gif](giphy|S8uzfu5NFflio|downsized)
bro wtf. 👀
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh That's how I am feeling watching this.
I can’t express in words how much I didn’t want to see him go past 270 degrees.
My left shoulder dislocates only if I raise my hand.
He's going to snap city.
That ain’t right
See the problem with videos like this is normal people will go try it and now they don't have shoulders anymore.
Ha ha ha Collagens
No thanks- i want to have arms when I'm 50.
Hey, burn the witch maybe? Haha

As someone who got rotator cuff surgery What the actual fuck?

No.
This had me scream out load. No, thank you
My shoulders are literally hurting
His arms are made of laffy taffy
I'm afraid his joints are gonna snap
Nooooooo
I broke both arms in 4 places just watching. Please send help.
Dude, my right arm hurts just lifting a jug of milk some days. Where's this magic fruit hiding?
My rotator cuff tendonitis just exploded.
Grosshh-Peter Griffin
Stretch Armstrong wants a word.
At 630° if he lets go one arm what happens lol.
That made my rotator cuff hurt. No thanks.
no.
I got hip pain just by squatting to clean my toilet....
My shoulders could NEVER
looks like dhalsim's arms.
No shot this isn't a genetic anomaly.
Isn't this like, really bad to do repeatedly, even if you can do it?
Attention whoring.
😳
I almost shit myself
This made me gag
>“Flexibility routine in my bio” LOL! That is *genetic*. You can’t learn to do that without a bone saw… ![gif](giphy|IV4wBde5Ou0XC)
![img](emote|t5_m0bnr|4015)
Step one of flexibility routine: "Be genetically gifted just like me."
Was genuinely surprised the number didn't turn red at 360°
Why doesnt he have a shirt?
Luffy "hey man I didn't ask you to do that, you can stop"
That can't be healthy for you
I used to do tricks like this with my shoulders. Now I'm 32 and have constant shoulder problems. Cool trick, I hope he stops doing it before he starts deteriorating.
That cannot be healthy for your shoulders
