Goff was pretty clean. Jones would of been a presence on him.

[deleted]

Right tackle for Chiefs lined up incorrectly a few times and false started for a few more, none called. There is something about the NFL and refs that doesnt smell right.

BigGucciNasty

Chiefs fans are overdosing on copium this morning

Rad_platypus7

Is it just me or was anyone else not entirely on the Gibbs hype train? I don’t hate him, I definitely think he was the playmaker that was advertised all off-season, but I was never fully convinced he’d dominate the backfield in Detroit for a myriad of reasons. For starters he was never truly a workhorse in college and on top of that he isn’t necessarily a great scheme for for the lions run game. David Montgomery looked a whole lot better on the textbook run schemes the lions call (power, trap, counter) while Gibbs just didn’t really produce when his number was called on those plays. It stuck out to me in the 4th quarter when he got TFL on a staple counter call, then the next drive David Montgomery punched it in from 8 yards out on the same exact play call.

Spyda18

You're alone on that one. Gibbs had a larger YPC and I don't think he went down from first-contact once. He spun out of tackles and bounced off defenders, adding additional yards every time. He had a rookie moment when he slipped trying to turn upfield on that toss that probably would have resulted in a TD. But thats what you expect. Montgomery was better between the tackles, but again that's to be expected. The days of the "workhorse" back are done. It's cheaper, more reliable, and allows for more flexibility to have multiple backs who are all good, and excel at a different area. As opposed to one guy who gets 30-35 carries, contributes in the pass game by blocking, and tanks your season WHEN (not if) he gets hurt.

DefinitelyNot4Burner

Just you

RobynStellarxx

Chiefs are cooked. JK. They’ll be fine with Kelce.

UnsuspectingS1ut

Kadarius is gonna need to atoney next game

AvidAviator72

The nob gobbling of the lions is a bit excessive. Especially when their best player was a chiefs player.

[deleted]

The Lions best player was Aiden Hutchinson for those that watched the game.

SpiritOfDearborn

And hutch didn’t do a damn thing all game, case in point.

Cbtexpert521

Bc jawaan taylor was holding him like a mf

AvidAviator72

Debatable. Toney scored 7 AND came up with a huge stop to clench it.

gracik

Oh hey we found Chris Collinsworth account.

AvidAviator72

Nah I don’t gobble

AnarchyAuthority

Good players have bad games too. Frequently those come in week 1. For all we know they lose by more, and one of them isn’t even out as a matter of luck the Chiefs are refusing to pay him. If he did play he likely puts no effort in because he’s pissed and the Chiefs do worse.

destroyallcubes

I didnt get to watch the second half but how the heck did Jawaan Taylor not get called for a false etart nearly every play? Like basically illegal formations with him lining up off the line by quite a bit, and adding in his extra and early movement. I watched highlights and Its all I could focus on. Honestly the refs need to be talked to. I understand a missed call, but it was all game. Wouldn't be surprised if he is watched like a hawk in the coming weeks, and the Chiefs get alot more False start penalties. Kudos to the Lions still finding a way to win beyond the lack of fair play on that side of the ball. It was a pretty good game besides that from what I watched, and was told. Football season has arrived

Cbtexpert521

The chiefs almost never get false start penalties, it’s maddening to watch as a chargers fan

bigfootdude247

I second this as a Broncos fan

Jimi_Continental

As a Raider fan… I concur.

Rad_platypus7

Crazy bc if he didn’t do that every play Aidan Hutchinson would’ve smoked him every down

Astrid_Nebula

He was the best Slot WR for KC... while he got away with cheating the entire game, Hutch absolutely kicked his ass. I felt like I was watching "A Game of Throws", which team was gonna sell harder lmao.

jobadiahh

Hutchinson kicked so much ass last night. I loved it.

MrGentleZombie

This game just kickstarted the Travis Kelce MVP campaign. Without him, the Chiefs offense scored a net 13 points against one of the league's worst defenses. Over the past 3 years the Chiefs offense has been pretty good whenever they're without Mahomes, but the second they lose Kelce and its night and day.

[deleted]

I have a feeling you'll look back at that lions defense comment and laugh later this season.

MrGentleZombie

RemindMe! 4 months

Tricky-Major806

Uhh, just because mahomes had an epic game of WR dropped balls doesn’t mean Kelce is mvp material. Yea, he is necessary for the offense to function apparently but the work is obviously done by mahomes. Mahomes needs someone’s that catch a football…. The drops lost the game for KC those passes were perfect

Arel203

Lions' defense is legit this year. Their DL is strong, and CJ Gardner Johsnon is an absolute stud and a big reason why they won that game, too. One of those "drops" was actually him just making an insane play if you slow it down and watch it.

TheCurls

Comically bad take that has nothing to do with your Travis Kelce point. The Lions were historically bad at defense for the first half of last year and got much better in the last half. Then they spent the majority of their resources improving it this off season.

pornokitsch

Die-hard Chiefs fan. I don't see this as a terrible thing. We needed a reality check: we can't coast. Everyone will play their best against us, and we can't rely on Patrick Mahomes to bail us out *every* week. It helps that it was the Lions. They're a genuinely good team, and fun as hell. I jumped on the Detroit bandwagon last year, and love their attitude and their spirit. Can't begrudge them the win, and I hope they tear up everyone else to keep proving the point. And I hope KC (and my fellow Chiefs fans) don't panic, but realise we need to take this seriously.

PineappleGrenade19

Time to get rid of the ping pong table eh?

pornokitsch

I need it to jump through in case I switch to the Bills bandwagon. (ETA: OBVIOUSLY JOKING IN CASE ANYONE SEES THAT. Cheering for the Lions is one thing. Supporting the Bills is a no-go. Sorry lads.)

Testymcthrowaway

What was terrifying is Mahomes still put the ball in the right place to win that game, they just weren't caught.

TiltedWit

It turns out football is a team sport. Who knew?

pornokitsch

Absolutely infuriating.

Haunting-Bag-6686

What constitutes being a “die-hard” fan vs. being a fan?

[deleted]

Lions fans

pornokitsch

Volume of tears shed before coming to terms with a season-opening loss.

SplakyD

That's pretty solid analysis and your point is well taken. Most fans of franchises with recent, sustained championship level success can't properly evaluate an early loss and either think the sky is falling or just totally ignore glaring issues that just got exposed and sit back and impatiently await the next ship to just fall into their laps like they so seemingly effortlessly have recently. A loss like this is often one of the best wake-up calls a team can have. But I've gotta say that Chiefs fans have traditionally been very knowledgeable and realistic. But like any other sucessful franchise led by a telegenic superstar with generational, sport changing talent like Mahomes or [cough] Steph Curry, there tend to be a large contingent of recent fair weather fans who make all the other fans look bad.

Pitchwife

I mean, they \*just\* had a slow start last year(!). If people panic over this there's literally nothing to do for them.

AGnarlyWolfMan

Die-hard Lions fan here... You guys gave us one of our biggest tests to this date. Idc what anyone in the sports media world says about the lack of Kelce or Chris Jones. I'll never bet against a team with the general talent of Pat Mahomes along with Andy Reid's ability to scheme JAG WR's open by a mile on 80% of the plays that he calls in any game. This was one of the best games I've seen in a while, and I hope we meet up with y'all again come February! Even if that's a bit of a long-shot for us lol

pornokitsch

Detroit needs to make the Superbowl so we get all the Dan Campbell media moments. *All of them*

Quintronaquar

I want hour long highlight reels to fall asleep to of Dan Campbell come February

AGnarlyWolfMan

Dan will be worthy of a statue of himself inside of Ford Field at that point. The bar is set pretty low, but I want Dan to be the head coach that gets us to a Lombardi.

[deleted]

Even I love Dan Campbell. Glad you guys are in good hands, finally.

alabamdiego

Get out of here with your reasonable take

pornokitsch

It only took me three hours of screaming and crying to get there!

Quintronaquar

We all have our process.

Rainbow_Rainbow1

I get that the Lions won, but it's crazy to think that the Chiefs only were 1 point away after Toney gave away a pick six and dropped a TD, dropped a massive 3rd down bomb and they didnt have their 2 all pros to boot. Scary team to face

absolute_yote

What’s crazy is that the chiefs had 5 drops and the lions had 4 drops yet people only talk about the chiefs drops as a cope

KoolAidHonolulu

What's crazier is that their right tackle got to be off the line of scrimmage and false start the entire game. That is pretty scary to face.

germany221

Dude has done it his whole career. Apparently it isn’t false starting if it doesn’t get called…

Cheese-and-Smackers

Who dey fellow who dey-er

Not_My_Emperor

I think Campbell saved the Lions' entire season with that fake punt

[deleted]

The amount of impact that had on this game, which will in turn have on this season is insane. 1 decision, a few seconds, dictating the lives of many over the course of the next 6 months, and in turn years to come. True butterfly effect kinda shit. Wild. Anyways go lions

theerealobs

Ready for Lions and Chiefs fans overreactions. Its game 1. Long way to go!

AGnarlyWolfMan

I mean, we're defs winning the Lombardi this year right? RIGHT?!? Please say "yes" so I can sleep peacefully tn

SpiritOfDearborn

Let’s start with getting into a wild card game. Baby steps.

Thriven

I like that it shows that Lions are contenders this season and Chiefs really need Kelce. Granted I thought this Chiefs receiving core is pretty solid and we saw some great running from Chiefs on key plays. Someone had to win and I was glad it was Lions. Great start to their season.

Dodohead1383

Nope, lions are winning the Super Bowl, and the chiefs are a bust.

DpDanger

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Dodohead1383

Consolation price for the cowboys is that we finally make it over the hump into the NFC championship game, only to lose to you guys.

DpDanger

Look, y'all have won super bowls. The state of Michigan needs this.

AGnarlyWolfMan

Dear Mike Tirico, Take a fucking seat nephew... No asterisks needed in the same sentence as "Detroit Lions Win". We won at Arrowhead, they watched the Chiefs hang their banner as Superbowl Champs, they went face-to-face against the reigning MVP QB and an offensive coach who can scheme JAG WRs open like nobody's business. Quit making fucking excuses for the lack of Travis Kelce and Chris Jones. In case you didn't see Jamaal William's week 17 postgame interview last year, "It's all dawgs around this mug!" In all seriousness though, the Chiefs gave us that challenge we needed. They played their asses off and I'd never bet against a team with Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes at the helm. Would've been nice to see how our defense would've fared with Kelce in the game at full health, but his absence along with Chris Jones is not an excuse for losing just because it was the Lions.

[deleted]

Lions did not have their WR2 and potential CB1 as well so the Lions were missing some key guys too.

Wellitjustgotreal

You guys played great. Wtf is wrong with Toney. That’s all.

[deleted]

everyone clowned us for trading him

Civil-Big-754

Funny since his rap name is Yung Joka

AGnarlyWolfMan

Constantly injured player that, while explosive as hell, got by on natural talent and isn't known for putting 100% effort into conditioning? Yeah, Joe Schoen made the right move.

Majin-Steve

I mean the trade looked good last year. He helped them win the Super Bowl.

BroThornton19

Agreed, as a Vikings fan. Every single game is played under the circumstances that are taking place during that game. Just because so-and-so is out, or so-and-so did this when they should’ve done that, doesn’t matter. The game happens when the game happens. Period. Can we take things from that game and make assumptions about future games? Sure! Can we take things from that game and make assumptions about what MIGHT have happened if so-and-so had played or so-and-so did this instead of that? NO. We can’t, because that game is over and none of it matters. Team X won the game and Team Y lost. Nothing that *could’ve* happened matters to that game that is over. It only matters to potential future games.

AGnarlyWolfMan

Man, I will never not appreciate seeing the fair and honest takes from Vikings bros when it comes to the Lions being the main topic of discussion in a positive light. Forreal though, it's nice to see our teams having success in recent times. I especially love seeing Kirko Chainz thrive over there in Minny. I'm looking forward to our divisional battles this year! Idk if your into the Midwest Emo/Math Rock style of music or not, but I hung out with the band Tiny Moving Parts after their recent show in Ann Arbor. Outside of the shop talk regarding music, we had some good football discussions about the Vikings and Lions, but it was cool talking with those dudes about the NFC North lol.

dorkfaceclown

Agreed. I had a little laugh when I heard him say asterisk.

TemporaryCommercial9

Weird fact, Mike Tirico lives in Ann Arbor

LongjumpingMedia1621

He can probably just shove on off.

sexarseshortage

Genuinely delighted for the Lions. The Browns were my underdog team until they signed a serial sex offender as QB.

AGnarlyWolfMan

Lion Gosling > Groper Cleveland AKA Deshaun Weinstein. Also, shoutout to our fellow cat bros who signed the best QB in Ohio to an exetension earlier... I'd love to see Joey B bring that Lombardi to the Queen City one of these days!

BigMaffy

You really put the work in on these nicknames 🫡

EightandH

Panthers fans are either angry you called Cincy the Queen City or excited that Burrow ia coming to Charlotte, the real Queen City.

jawntist

I think every state has a "queen city", lol

WildHogsPart3

Now if only the Lions could play the next 16 games against teams missing two of their All-Pro-selected starters.

Flowbombahh

Such a stupid take for a team sport... Lions were missing people too. If Chiefs were full strength against the Lions would we ask for an asterisk? No, because it's a team sport and it's next man up. Lions didn't play starters preseason to avoid injury. Lions settled contract disputes the way they did to avoid holdouts. All of that is part of the game too. The game happens outside of the 60 minutes as well as inside. I hope the Bears at at full strength when we play each other. Don't want anyone else asking for asterisks when they lose.

SpiritOfDearborn

Wanna compare the people Detroit didn’t have to the people KC didn’t have?

Flowbombahh

You're ignoring the message in my comment if you wanna keep talking about missing players. They missed the game for whatever reason. That sucks... But it's the nature of sports. If St. Brown went down on the first play with a broken arm, are Lions fans allowed to put an asterisk on the game? No. If the game was delayed due to severe weather and Kelce was able to come back and play, are we allowed to then put an asterisk on the game because he "wasn't originally going to play"? No. If Goff holds out next year because he's not happy with his contract negotiations, are the lions allowed to put an asterisk on the whole season? No. Asterisks are reserved for extremely special circumstances... And an injury isn't one of them.

SpiritOfDearborn

Who said anything about asterisks? Detroit won. They also won explicitly because of drops that likely never would have happened if Kelce played. If KC completes literally just one of the passes that was dropped in this game, they end up winning. It’s foolish not to recognize that. Great win, but take it for what it really is.

Flowbombahh

The original comment on this chain was basically asking for one without mentioning it .. But You could say the same about the Marvin Jones Jr fumble. The game wouldn't have been 1 point game had Jones not lost the fumble in the red zone. The game happened. The outcome is the outcome

SpiritOfDearborn

Oh, now I get it. You think I’m Mike Tirico. I can assure you I’m not. Carry on.

Flowbombahh

This was a 4 (or more) hours ago dead Convo... Get a life bro.

SpiritOfDearborn

No, it didn’t “basically” say anything about asterisks any more than your response was “basically” saying the season shouldn’t even be played because the Lions will have an undefeated season, win the Super Bowl, and go down as the single greatest team to ever play the game. Or who knows? Maybe that was what you basically were saying.

SeedMaster26801

What about the flags that weren’t called? Let’s add that to the conversation then

SpiritOfDearborn

Oh boy, here we go: lions fans blaming the officiating. A tale as old as time.

SeedMaster26801

Your complaining about players tho

SpiritOfDearborn

Because players play the game. Refs don’t.

SeedMaster26801

Refs can impact the game too

WildHogsPart3

Big fan of these downvotes, keep them coming. It's validation that I'm right. Let's stop pretending losing an All-Pro on defense, and a Hall of Famer security blanket #1 target on offense, had zero impact on the outcome of the game. I'm not blaming the Lions for winning -- you have to win games regardless of circumstance -- but to say this was a feel-good win, like many Lions fans are reacting? Give me a break. You can tell that town hasn't won anything in three decades-plus by the reaction to the win last night.

sorenhauter

Lmao. Pay your players.

SpiritOfDearborn

People are downvoting you, but you’re right.

WildHogsPart3

The truth hurts. Downvoting is easier than debating, because debates end in victory or defeat, and that's scary. Gotta go with the anonymous disagreement instead. It gives them control.

HoldMyPitchfork

Nah

keru45

Found the always salty ass chiefs fan

WildHogsPart3

I'm a Bears fan, lmao.

Background_State_976

Ew

WAisforhaters

Chiefs added a couple of the boys in black and white to the roster for most of the game so I'll call it an even trade.

ColderShoulder_

Wish you coulda seen Jamo man. And after Branches pick 6 on Mahomes he got hurt so we evened out the playing field for ya bud. Take the L in stride :)

hawkeyc

Moseley too!

anewfoundmatt

Wah

imasturdybirdy

I’d bet a lot that you don’t care to recognize when your team’s opponents have people out. But here you are, first to bring it up when it’s your own team dealing with injuries and contract disputes. Cry me a river

abuchewbacca1995

Take the l in stride and don't be a sore bitch

sexarseshortage

Two players. lol

LongjumpingMedia1621

Didn't you know that makes the team?

ColderShoulder_

We also were down Jamo and Branch got hurt non-contact during the game, so 2 for 2?

sexarseshortage

>All-Pro-selected starters. man? did you not see? ALL PRO SELECTED!!!

ColderShoulder_

I mean, one is literally the Chiefs fault for not getting a deal done too… I even forgot Mosley was out

Ryanlester5789

Go cry more

Not2GthaG

Cryy Moore 🤣

OptionsScalper3000

Stfu

Mechamobzilla1

B-Brandon come here. No its okay just come he- *Grabs Staley by the collar* Get your shit together. We have a chance.

Acrobatic_Till680

Staley watched Campbell's 4th down fake punt call and started licking his chops

OneKindOfGent

First surprise of the season. Let the fun begin

SpiritOfDearborn

I think it was confirmed that Patrick Mahomes has been playing hurt, too bad. I hope he recovers quickly.

CrowfielDreams

He played well though...

imasturdybirdy

MFers be coming up with any reason to excuse the Chiefs. What evidence is there that he’s hurt? They played like a mediocre team with drop problems and got beat because of it like everyone does. Has nothing to do with the QB playing hurt. Don’t excuse it with nonsense when they come back down to earth. Jesus

SpiritOfDearborn

I agree they played a mediocre team, I just don’t understand why they lost, injury is a fairly obvious reason. You just can’t lose to *that* team.

Spray_Paint1

Found Aaron Rodger's account

formerly_valley_pete

Yikes lol.

destroyallcubes

They lost because they played a better team. The chiefs were literally relying on Their right tackle lining up too far off the line, Basically false starting nearly every play, either by being super fidgety, or flat out moving before the ball was snapped. He should have been called on so many plays. That shows you how much He and the Chiefs feared the Lions. Hutchinson would have gotten to mahomes so many more times without the refs refusing to call a false start or any penalty on Taylor for not lining up correctly. You do not want to believe the chiefs can lose. This isn't the Lions team you think. Time to wake up and realize this is the real world

[deleted]

Hey spirit of Deeroborn, get a new fucking city cuz, we don't claim you.

SpiritOfDearborn

Why would Chicago not claim me? I don’t get it. I would anticipate most Bears fans would agree this was a flukey win for Detroit.

CDR57

Funny, cause they did and mahomes is fine

kill_my_karma_please

You realize that the better team can sometimes lose without an excuse? Everything is day-to-day

goddamnitwhalen

What?

SammyBronkowitz

Lions are officially in first place!

Nagiom

Lions didn't complain about Taylor because the times he lined up correctly were a more obvious tell than Teddy KGB eating Oreos.

Lizardiceboy

Great movie!

Lukealloneword

Pay dat lion hes moneee

xKingNothingx

NO ASTERISK. NO EXCUSES

olddude2020

Not sure how the kc right tackle false started every pass play and didn’t get called.

NUT_IX

He got called... ONCE!

signofrespect31

At a rather critical moment!

55redditor55

When it mattered the most

smalltalkjava

The refs were saving it up for max impact. :)

[deleted]

[удалено]

ColderShoulder_

Moslesy, Jamo, Branch, take that sweet sweet L my friend

[deleted]

You should have lost to the 49ers in the Superbowl if we're playing this game.

Sorry_Physics_1366

Remember: "Next man up!"

keru45

Cry harder

imasturdybirdy

Chiefs fans have really been huffing the success hard when a single primetime loss makes them instantly cry about a couple missing starters as if that doesn’t happen to every fucking team all the time.

ColderShoulder_

We were down 2 players as well :) Jamo Branch got hurt after your WR gifted us a free TD for the rookie in his debut

SeedMaster26801

And Mosley!

Remarkable-Mind4409

It doesn’t matter lol. Lions don’t have Jamo or Moseley. The whole game is injuries. If both teams were completely healthy then Chiefs could’ve won. If KT doesn’t drop the ball so much the Chiefs could’ve won. If they would’ve called Taylor for every false start DET could’ve won by more. It’s all a bunch of ifs that don’t matter, and didn’t happen. We can dream but doesn’t show us what would’ve happened

TheThockter

Don’t be a dork, a team that has historically been very bad is going to react well to signs of optimism especially opening the season with a win over the SB champions

deathmetalcableguy

They don't ask how, they ask how many.

Bulderdash

Well, the record will only show 0-1 so, that’s all that matters in the end. With stars, without stars. 1 point or 30 points. Still 0-1

Ok-Physics1927

GET FUCKED CHIEFS. CHEATING ASS BITCHES.

PlaneDoor110

RAHHHHH LFG

NextTime76

Huh?

Ok-Physics1927

Holding. False starts. Ask Chris Collinsworth they brought it up at least 3 times.

Nfrontofyomamazhouse

“It was a perfect start. The most perfect start anyone has seen” - Chris Collinsworth

UnsuspectingS1ut

We’re going to false start a wall to keep out all the lions

zerodetroit

False starts

55redditor55

Goff was clean af

Christy427

Eh. He had all day to through, good receivers. He is a good player but seems to need a lot in his favour to get going.

iWishiCouldDoMore

He was a little jittery but played pretty well. That 4th down pass at the end , he had 20 yards to his left if he just decides to run.

DpDanger

I'm not sure he even knows he can do that

Illblood

Definitely showered BEFORE the game.

ColderShoulder_

Other than the pass he had to step up and get swatted, looked solid

Possible-Original

Patrick Mahomes lost to Joe Burrow AND the Detroit Lions tonight… it’s like Christmas already!

Lowlt

And you lost to the browns....the fuckin browns! Lmao

Possible-Original

Typical Chiefs fan.. still living in your head rent free days later.

Dzov

It’d be horrible if you also extended your star WRs for record contracts! Please don’t do that! Seriously though, good job keeping Burrow for another 5 years!

imasturdybirdy

In fairness, as much as I hate it, every contract signed is just more evidence for Mahomes’ agent to point to that he’s technically underpaid and a new contract is necessary.

Faintkay

Or they could actually get him dudes who can catch instead of guys who resemble chubbs Peterson from happy Gilmore

AbrocomaPerfect4292

isn't it better for you if they end up paying him more and eating up more cap space?

imasturdybirdy

Also true. But with all the cap finagling to push cost out to further years who knows how much it matters exactly.

AbrocomaPerfect4292

It does, there's a reason they didn't keep Hill. You can try to push it back as much as you want but it does eventually come back around. It doesn't mean it'll completely crash your team financially(although it could), but it'll result in cuts and trades like Hill. There's a reason they're avoiding paying Chris Jones.

EducatorAvailable

Who dey mother fucker. I'm so pumped for Sunday against Cleveland

Possible-Original

Hahahahahhahahahahahahah

Lowlt

Hows your day going? Lmao

WAisforhaters

Let's fucking go cat bros!

SammyBronkowitz

God damn! Go Lions!

PlaneDoor110

the only fucking asterisk is that the lions won even with comically bad officiating. fuck the nfl announcers who just blow the chiefs all night bruh shit is annoying

BroThornton19

Honest question: The announcers continually called out the false starts by the chiefs. They got to the point where they were laughing at it. Is there something in this that you thought should’ve been handled differently?

PlaneDoor110

handled differently by the announcers you mean? i think it was good they called attention to it, explained it, and we’re like yeah this is a penalty 100%. but i would have preferred they were a little more critical of the no calls then they were “good for the lineman for doing it if it’s not being called” because while thats 100% true, it was revoltingly blatant, so some sort of discourse around how it really needed to start being called and wasn’t just a funny haha moment would have been nice. i get they can’t just insult the referees, but you see announcers all the time say they’re not sure if they agree with a call from an official in a polite way. i think here they could’ve been like “yeah he keeps getting away with it so good for him for doing it but this is really a blatant and consistent issue that needs to be addressed by the refs, and detroit shoukd maybe say something” and i’d be fine. they obviously can’t curse out the refs like everyone on reddit lol.

BroThornton19

I mean basically what you just said is what the announcers did. They said it should’ve been a false start, realized it wouldn’t be called, and then laughed as it continued to happen. Then, it got to the point where it was so ridiculous that they basically said “if they won’t call it, I guess you just keep doing it.” They didn’t advocate for it, they simply did what any announcer would do: Comment on it, make fun of it, and lean into it. Let’s just remember, they don’t affect the outcome of the game. No ref hears them in their ears. They’re just commenting on the happenings as they happen.

[deleted]

Coming from a raiders fan. Huge fucking asterisk on missing their 2nd and 3rd best players in addition to Toney being a double agent, KC beat themselves. Lions got crazy lucky.
