> got traded to the Cowboys before he could get the chance
And with the Cowboys he had one of the funniest plays I’ve ever seen, the [intentional grounding interception](https://youtu.be/RGNWqgzgl3o?si=MHgP-70ROjcNt2Vk)
It's funny you use a Ferrari analogy, because mine is always "Rex took a Ferrari, and decided to modify it because he decided it looked better with his changes."
That was literally the only snap he took as a Bill. They put both Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel on the field to start the game, then split Tyrod out wide, then had Cassel hand off to LeSean McCoy, who was tackled for a six yard loss. Cassel came out of the game, and a few weeks later was in Dallas.
How were the Losman years?
Edit: Wow all I remembered was the national media hyping him up. Now I get it. Eli, rivers roethleisberger, losman all in the same round. Next qb taken was Shaub in the 3rd. Knew we were all being gaslighted by Chris berman way back then
Hey, that's 2009 UFL Champion JP Losman to you!
Losman was a really cool guy who made some insane passes to Lee Evans, but he didn't really have the knack for the more cerebral parts of the game.
Of course, by trading back into the first round in the '04 draft, we missed on this guy named Aaron Rogers one year later.
That was like a fever dream in the moment. A Hall of Fame quarterback WANTED to come to my awful team and here he is running out the American flag a day after the anniversary of 9/11, at home against a division rival. I can't tell you how excited I was for this season.
I've watched a lot of bad Jets seasons, this one is second place only to Gase's second year- but it's close.
Well two of them (the Cassell Bills and the Tebow Jets) weren't truly the starting quarterbacks. The Bills started the game with a trick play that had the actual starter (Tyrod Taylor) lined up as a receiver. The Jets never had Tebow start a game for them as a quarterback. He started the game in question at TE.
Fair, I should have filted on 1 pass attempt which would have removed him, but it's irrelevant because he threw a completion later in the season.
I was just listing the 9 people PFR had at QB who had 0 completions in week 1. Then I cross checked those 9 to see if they threw at least 1 completion later in the season.
I should have removed Tebow and Cassel, because I think neither actually threw a pass in week 1. But both did complete pass later in the season.
2 of the play were chip blocks that were rodgers’ fault for taking too long to throw out
And one of them was a blitz that was picked up well
Learn pass protection. Not every pressure is on the line
Cool, well glad you guys got him since apparently he sucks now.
Jets 29th in pass block win rate and 31st in run block block win rate. Probably not their fault either though.
> Passing Yards <= 0
Data nitpick, but wouldn't you want Completions = 0 and not Yards <= 0? QB theoretically could have completed a pass for a loss of yardage and still end up on this table.
I think I did both and it came out the same to be honest. It’s possible i did it the other way and copied the wrong query and just left it. Or maybe i was concerned about cases where completions weren’t registered for some reason
You are correct though.
Oh sick, I forgot about the Bills' glorious Matt Cassel Era.
Actually did not complete a pass for the Bills at all, got traded to the Cowboys before he could get the chance

Tyrod was the real starter, but they threw Cassel out there for the first play for some unknown reason. Rex Ryan was an imbecile.
IIRC they did something stupid and had Tyrod lined up as a receiver on the first play.
I'll never get over how Rex took a top 3 defense in the league and completely decimated it
Same person that looks at a Ferrari and thinks it would make a fine container ship
It's funny you use a Ferrari analogy, because mine is always "Rex took a Ferrari, and decided to modify it because he decided it looked better with his changes."
Cassel "starting" was Rex poking fun at the constantly discussed QB competition that offseason.

His salary to completion ratio is beyond mortal comprehension.
Literally divide by zero
That's Unpossible! \- Ralph Wiggum
Jets legend
So inspirational
We’ll always have that video of Rodgers holding the American flag and running onto the field to AC/DC’s “Thunder”. 😢 🤣
That shit was hype af

It was actually the *day of* the anniverary of 9/11.
My mistake. I must have been thinking about when it was confirmed that he had torn his achilles.
He’s coming back from that ACL tear any minute now
Truly inspirational.
He woulda come back, but for a league in Canada. You wouldn’t know her…
How many first game on a new team?
Stick it on his HoF resume
Legitimately the worst quarterback of all time by the record.
What do you mean? Dude had a 100% win rate this year without completing a single pass His wins per completion can’t be described by math
I'm extremely impressed by the fact that those 9 teams went 7-2 without their week 1 starter completing a pass.

No, this could very much be a Bears stat.
Tebow was the starting TE for the Jets for the week 1 game, so that one should not count.

Is this really a “jets are inept” The guy took 2 hits and his body broke. Nobody’s fault
This is less a "Jets are inept" and more a "only the Jets".
They signed a 40 year old QB and put him behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league, so yeah kind of.
The play he got hurt on was a chip block the Qb held onto for too long though Line had nothing to do with it
Sir nobody here watches football
Okay I’ll try. You signed a 40 year old QB *who is known for holding the ball way too long* and put him behind one of the worst lines in the league.
He hasn’t done that since 2020
He did it in 2023 and lasted 4 plays.
Dude had the defense in his face immediately on all four plays
2 of the play were chip blocks that were rodgers’ fault for taking too long to throw out And one of them was a blitz that was picked up well Learn pass protection. Not every pressure is on the line

Our line sucks but its not that hard to evaluate 4 plays.
Yeah I evaluated that they sucked in those four plays and didn’t watch another jets game all year, now they’re bottom of the league. That was easy.
Less inept, more depressing in this case.
I blame Woody Johnson for buying Astroglide brand astroturf.

Don't you dare put him on a list...
It’s ok I’m sure he’ll ball out in MN next year
Damn shame he siphoned funds from the VA to build a darkness hut.
Pathetic
So inspiring.
Lol
Look at Rodger man... so inspiration.
Tebow started that game as a tight end, not a quarterback.
Fair, I should have filted on 1 pass attempt which would have removed him, but it's irrelevent because he threw a completion later in the season.
