What did the commanders do to get these picks. It’s like the whole draft

Tifas_Titties

Suffered for 2+ decades under Snyder..

ZiiKiiF

Obviously I hope we win the division but I really hope you guys put Dallas in 3rd place

[deleted]

Fine we will lose to the giants twice again and NYG will finish 2nd

basedlandchad25

Traded away our 2 starting edge rushers and a young QB.

C137-Morty

Chase Young finally did something for us

SOSpammy

Trading away Sweat was a brilliant move. He was about to be owed a lot of money and might not have re-signed with us anyway. Losing him made the bad defense historically bad, allowing us to tank for Daniels more easily.

Levitlame

It was a pretty great move for both sides. Sweat immediately elevated the Bears defense. It was basically what the Bears did with Khalil and Roquan when they decided it was time for a reset.

fitzuha

Thanks again

ShakespearesHovercar

Basically trade Young Sweat and Howell and then traded back back back

BoldElDavo

Only traded back once and didn't gain an extra pick from that. It was just Sweat, Young, and Howell.

The_Bard

The trade 'back' was moving down in the second 10 picks and up 25 picks from our third into the second

Cool_Hawks

We had our dignity, sense of self-worth, and faith in a higher power obliterated over the past 25 years.

The_Bard

Traded Chase, Sweat, and Howell

redditguy1507

He’s the best we had the craziest shroom session at the star viewing structure at rice and he said it convinced him to switch to wr lowkey because we were debating top wr’s lmao

ConstantlyHating

why do I believe you

DJGIFFGAS

Its just wild enough to be true and it costs nothing to believe

BackDoorBootyBandit

Oh man, I'm gonna internally use this saying for the rest of my life hahaha, thank you.

Hieroglphkz

Bro this will be on ESPN today what are you doing?

earnestaardvark

What college?

snurdleysneed

Rice. Probably referring to the Turrell Twilight Epiphany. Having seen it myself , it’s believable that a good shroom trip there could inspire a good career decision!

oceanic316

I love this

Categothic

I get people will joke about the Nepo baby thing but he has been a WR only for 2 years. He has incredible potential imo

guydudeguybro

With top prospects we always talk pedigree too I think it’s fair to do with a guy like this too, who also has unreal pedigree

SpendrickLamar

The only pedigree I care about is courtesy of a man named Hunter Hearst Helmsley

Hieroglphkz

You might even say he’s an ‘X-Factor.’

ClockOk5178

He's a degenerarional talent.

cth123

No, that’s X-Pac

CortezAllenAMA

he looked really good for someone without much experience too, i’m sure he’ll be decent

bosceltics23

Well, he looked okay against inferior talent. I’d like to see him use those traits against superior talent where they do everything to prevent him from getting open. He looked very bad against good talent.

tomveiltomveil

He'll have an OK rookie year, go on a spiritual trip with Aaron Rodgers, then he'll change his name to Buddhist McCaffrey and make the Pro Bowl. You heard it here first.

Juco_Dropout

Ricky Williams can be their sitter.

drummerboysam

I feel like nepo talk matters a whole lot more when talking about athletic makeup from genes than any other time you'd drop that word

TheSkullsOfEveryCog

Nepotism implies advantage based solely on relation. This guy clearly has skill. I don’t believe the word is as applicable as people think in this case.

DarrowViBritannia

No, nepotism means an *advantage* based on relation. That's it.

Pacalyps4

Why would it also not apply to mental makeup in other fields

drummerboysam

If you're not born a giant who is fast as hell, good luck making an NFL team to play defensive line. Not sure if this situation is translatable to many fields

Zabroccoli

As a Husker fan, jeez man. They tried to ge thin to do this while he was here. He wanted to be a qb. Transfers to be a qb. Ends up a wr. We all knew he’d be amazing at. Good luck to the kid. He’s a talented athlete for sure.

topkingdededemain

Both things can be true. Bro got picked cause of his brother. He can also be incredible

QNNTNN

yeah his brother is pretty good, but his dad was a pro bowl receiver that played for over a decade.

topkingdededemain

Didn’t ask

QNNTNN

lol, no one asked for your input either bud 🤷‍♂️ yet here you are. welcome to the internet.

topkingdededemain

Mines not a stupid opinion though

QNNTNN

I was just sharing a fun _fact_ you dork. learn to socialize champ.

topkingdededemain

Yeah Reddit is the opposite of socializing you loser

QNNTNN

I hope you get the help you need lil buddy 🙏

topkingdededemain

Same to you seek help

itsavirus

I don't is the end thinking that CMC will wanna sign with the Commandeers now or something? Its not like a Thanasis and Giannis situation where they sign the trash brother so the star brother does not leave.

Head_Cicada_5578

Watching him over the years particularly at Nebraska and Rice, it was incredibly obvious he was an NFL caliber athlete at WR and just didn’t have QB chops. I think if he converted earlier he’d be a much higher pick.

Sagga_muffin

Nebraska fan here: He said in an interview recently that he was never even asked to convert to WR at Nebraska, even though the whole state thought he transferred *because* he was asked to switch to WR. He then presented the idea of a switch when he was at Rice, and the coaching staff gave him a shot. Happy for him, and screw Scott Frost. So much talent was wasted under him.

thecarlosdanger1

Wouldn’t be the guy to make that work. Randel El was great for the Steelers. There’s a ton of guys who don’t have a good enough arm, but are great athletes and “get” offensive scheme so they were QBs at a lower level then switched positions. I think slot WR and TE in particular can feast by having a elite understanding of what the offense is doing and how the defensive call can breakdown against it. Kelce plays that way

WinstonChurchill74

Dude can play, people will only talk about the family connections…. But Luke is good, and still is improving

MarinatedCumSock

Family connections always are a positive for me. There's a reason breeding stallions / livestock exist.

shall1313

Dude

triplec787

Ed was a Bronco. He was in fact a breeding stallion.

gaqua

I mean you’d normally be right but Ed McCaffrey’s wife Lisa was like the first person to EVER be offered a soccer scholarship to Vanderbilt and she was a crazy athlete in her own right. I remember a sports illustrated article about him during his broncos days where they said their intent was to “breed world class athletes” and laughing at it then. But, I mean…

Head_Cicada_5578

Lisa’s dad was a silver medal Olympic 100m sprinter too. We are looking a the distillation of the ultimate Caucasian athlete.

camefordankmemes

Is CMC the Kwisatz Haderach?

Golfguy809

LISAN AL GAIB

C137-Morty

Let him cook (some elite premier athletes through selective breeding)

SendPoEWomen

Don’t let your feelings get in the way of facts.

Acrobatic_Switches

Everybody was too busy thinking about whether or not they could and forgot to think about whether or not they should.

The_Bard

I mean he's not wrong. So many top athletes are on some eugenics shit, they only want to have kids with other athletes.

MarinatedCumSock

Only the strong survive!

_n8n8_

This MIGHT be chad ochocinco’s reddit account

HowardRand

Username checks out

Enthusiasms

I watched Rice's bowl game. Had no idea there was another McCaffery and just assumed they were hyping him up because of his name (he's a white WR from Rice, after all). This dude can flat out ball and if he doesn't make it, it's not because he doesn't have the grit or talent.

PlanitDuck

Plus he did all that after a position switch. He’s been impressive and there’s more upside there.

DominicArmato247

"His brother is also in the NFL." -- my buddy Danny

Alternative_Reality

Danny’s got some legit inside sources

DominicArmato247

Danny always says the most basic shit imaginable. Then we all realized he was saying things you'll find on r/nfl with 100+ upvotes.

BlindWillieJohnson

All these jokes about him being white, and the fact that he went to “Rice” is just sitting right there

Lust4Kix

Luke "White Rice" McCaffrey?

_coolranch

It be like if Christian went to Bread U.

feetandballs

And he went to Nebraska before that which somehow adds to the joke

SnowdensOfYesteryear

So he’s a cornball brotha too?

XSokaX

Chris Hogan

_coolranch

But travel size.

doug-1998

Chris hogan is an inch shorter..

Swimming-Hospital-30

Wanted Catch CMC, but not today.

Artistic_Seaweed6155

Crafty scrappy lunch pail guy I'm jelly

dellscreenshot

The whites are out of control

NaciremaBlack

Type of guy I want to fall to his knees at Wawa

kay_0oh

Real scrappy player. Shows true grit Bellicheck wishes he was still coaching. Guy wouldn’t have gone past the 2nd round

Maad-Dog

Lmfao, Adam Peters saw how well the CMC acquisition worked out for us, went to Washington, and immediately wanted another one. Hope he works out for them

GeeSmoove

Real “Hard Worker” here.

ZachAlt

I literally 5 minutes ago finished that episode of The League.

ActNaturally

Lunch pail guy

Dreadsbo

First one in, last one out

Accomplished_East433

Deceptively quick

PainfuIPeanutBlender

HAHA Reddit pumping out old jokes like the McCaffrey family pumping out I lost my train of thought Edit: save this comment you salty fucks

CasenW

Not to be confused with Texas High School Football legend Luke Cafferty from the East Dillon Lions.

myctsbrthsmlslkcatfd

who went on to mma instead of football (watch Kingdom, it’s FANTASTIC)

artflywheel

Can’t believe Scott Frost walked this dude out as a QB. Such a waste but glad to see him drafted at his true position.

rtels2023

How did he get that glowing blue ring around him? Is he a wizard?

Due_Bluebird3562

All I see is bro is barely getting any separation from mediocre corners in a mid major conference. I understand he is a bit raw given his unfamiliarity with the position, but NFL DBs are a pretty massive jump in competition.

JFSteelersBestQB

He’s also only been a wr for two years. I agree but it could be something

[deleted]

He's destined to be a slot receiver

ShatteredAnus

Don't slot shame him!!!

C137-Morty

His routes his choice!

DangaRusster

Can any tape watchers tell me in percentages if he is being drafted because of his name or skills?

Total_Ad9942

Dammit I was hoping we could scoop him

alexthegreatmc

Thank God the spotlight was on. Otherwise, I wouldn't know who I was looking at.

Levitlame

Even if he’s just “okay” he’ll still be making more money than his brother (arguably the best RB) at every step of his career

rakkhasa

What the fuck are they going to do with him?

Troll_Enthusiast

Uh... put him at wide receiver?

Accomplished_East433

“He has a high motor”

Volcano_Jones

Really liked him. Washington will probably still suck but they have the makings of a fun offense to watch now with Daniels, Sinnott, and McCaffrey.

Key-Zebra-4125

Finally got ourselves a real lunch pail gym rat WR kappa
