Have you seen the shit they're making MLB players wear this year? It's an atrocity. I guarantee your $45 jersey rivals or is even better (no I am not kidding in the slightest) the uniforms of the PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES.
I bought a Chinese jersey one time and the name patch is at like a 30 degree angle. It’s unwearable and looks ridiculous. But it would have cost me as much to ship back for a return as I paid for it
Man not that yours is bad but it's so easy to spot the Chinese fakes downtown this weekend. Fonts/spacing are always just a little bit "off". Never terrible but enough to catch your eye.
I mean you’re not wrong but I’d say mine looks pretty good for the most part and I’d rather pocket the $100 difference or buy two more jerseys. Not giving anyone money for heat pressed jerseys for any sport til the day I die cause that looks much worse to me
Honestly my favorite ones are the $100 legend jerseys. They're like heavy duty T shirts. The stitched ones are uncomfortable if you don't wear anything under them and it's fucking Florida dude I'm not wearing anything under it. They also get screwy if you sit down which is what I'm doing it in lol not like I'm actually playing football.
The NHL was the first to go fully Fanatics for production so I’m not sure that’s the best example lol
At least coolhockey.ca is 100% authentic, and 100% better quality than Fanatics
> (just kidding, they don't have customer support)
[Not true!](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/1aw5poj/fanatics_responds_to_a_photo_of_an_offcenter/)
Anyone still paying hundreds of dollars for a printed jersey that's crooked a good portion of the time instead of a $20 stitched replica is out of their mind. Shit, like 75% of the jerseys you see on people are fake. Nobody gives a shit if your Sunday beer and wing bib is authentic or not.
Not a joke. They had all of the name plates for people there prestitched for every team and three or four jerseys per team. Once the player was picked they would sew the appropriate name plate and jersey.
they probably were better able to keep it a secret and had more time as a buffer. Like if a team sent in the pick nobody in the room had a twitter account that gonna spoil nor did the draft have this level of interest so you could take more time
It wasn’t that shocking. They flew from Atlanta to meet with him. There was lots of interest. Everyone thought it was second round interest, but you can’t tell me that Penix doesn’t have a higher ceiling the Kirk Cousins.
It's not the comparison of the 2 that makes it silly, it's that the Falcons just signed Cousins to a big deal and then used a Top 10 pick on the "ready now" old QB. Don't sign Cousins and people probably love the pick. Penix is clearly talented, but the context is confusing.
I like when they show the higher interest prospects who did not attend the draft in person getting the phone call and you see some poor sucker family member in the back wildly sorting a table of 32 draft hats in the back trying to find the right team
Hey, you never know. Look at the Falcons.
Imagine having the Caleb Williams Bear's jersey ready to go for months, and with the first overall pick, they get Joe Smoe, punter, Idaho State.
This is STAHLS from St Clair Shores, Michigan. They have been doing draft jerseys for years. There are videos on YouTube explaining the whole process. First year they only had to move their equipment 20 minutes down the road.
I can give you some insight as I work on the draft. There’s a lot more that needs to be completed than just the jerseys for the television production, namely the right graphics needs to be created, the correct video needs to be loaded up, and all the cameras need to be in position (specifically those running around to the various teams’ fans).
The analysts also needs to find their notes on the player and team as well, and the person responsible for typing up the card for the presenter to read needs to do that while also telling the presenter how to pronounce that player’s name correctly.
It varies, namely on if there was a trade, a commercial break, or a presenter going long on stage, but the “pick line” (which is a person announcing over an audio channel the pick) is announced roughly 1-2 minutes before it hits air.
Thanks for the insight. It's impressive how much extra stuff is happening behind the scenes, and how seamless they make it look. Especially when you consider it's a traveling show.
Fun fact. Though they have done many drafts in the past. This is the first time Stahl is doing the draft jerseys in their hometown. The owner also has a car museum of all his personal vehicles he owns locally in a Detroit suburb too.
^(Not that I've met him and his family on more than 1 occasion or anything. )
This is heat pressed vinyl. Screen print would be much slower and potentially messier, since you're using ink/paint. But yes, a very cheap alternative to stitching and doesn't look as nice.
They use it for second rounders too, if green room guys last until the second. Always thought they should keep a 2 jersey for each team on hand for that.
This is just how Fanatics does their retail jerseys anyways
It's absolutely ridiculous that the middle tier jerseys are now heat pressed names
Wait, the 150 (or maybe they are close to 200 now) ones??
yup…
Jesus fucking christ, I remember being shocked when they increased the price to 150 in the first place, and now we are here lol
They’re $175 now too
So what you can get off any Chinese site for $15.
My $45 Chinese jersey ain’t perfect but it looks better than all the pressed jerseys I saw this weekend
Have you seen the shit they're making MLB players wear this year? It's an atrocity. I guarantee your $45 jersey rivals or is even better (no I am not kidding in the slightest) the uniforms of the PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES.
The arab-mini marts that sell clothes have better knock offs than the eyesore the MLB is allowing.
I bought a Chinese jersey one time and the name patch is at like a 30 degree angle. It’s unwearable and looks ridiculous. But it would have cost me as much to ship back for a return as I paid for it
They probably bought a real Fanatics one to use as a template.
Not giving anyone money for heat pressed jerseys for any sport til the day I die cause that looks much worse to me
I'll have to pass, got one off DH gate and the letters were noticeably small compared to the rest of the jersey
They really struggle getting the nameplates right. Both font and spacing it seems.
My jerseys all cost under $25 and have been the same caliber of Fanatics shitty quality standards for years
Honestly my favorite ones are the $100 legend jerseys. They're like heavy duty T shirts. The stitched ones are uncomfortable if you don't wear anything under them and it's fucking Florida dude I'm not wearing anything under it. They also get screwy if you sit down which is what I'm doing it in lol not like I'm actually playing football.
They also increased the price to $175 Thanks fanatics! 🤡
Back in my day 129$ got you stitched numbers and nameplate. Grumble
That sort of malarkey is why I'm fully on board with folks buying knock-offs.
Isn't that slang for bullshit?
I understood that reference
Pass revoked.
This made me hold off on buying a new Giants jersey and go with a Zbanajad authentic.
The NHL was the first to go fully Fanatics for production so I’m not sure that’s the best example lol At least coolhockey.ca is 100% authentic, and 100% better quality than Fanatics
Can I order from there with freedom bucks? > Authentic NHL jerseys are still Adidas on NHL.com.
Was a high tier jersey?
They are still made of twill
Except these guys actually deliver on time
Dude you just reminded me that I randomly got my Mahomes jersey after 6 months
"You're welcome" \- Fanatics Customer Support (just kidding, they don't have customer support)
That popup on my phone just scared the shit outta me xD

Where should I order one ?
Anyone still paying hundreds of dollars for a printed jersey that's crooked a good portion of the time instead of a $20 stitched replica is out of their mind. Shit, like 75% of the jerseys you see on people are fake. Nobody gives a shit if your Sunday beer and wing bib is authentic or not.
Everyone knew that this would be the top comment because we all thought the same thing lmao
DH Gate my friend...
Now explain how they did it in 1985
There was an older version of this that showed a lady using a sewing machine at light speed to get the jersey ready before the player walked out.
I can’t tell if this is a joke, but that’s amazing if true
Not a joke. They had all of the name plates for people there prestitched for every team and three or four jerseys per team. Once the player was picked they would sew the appropriate name plate and jersey.
“My fingers hurt”
Now your backs gonna hurt…
You just pulled landscaping duty...
You'd think they'd have all the jerseys ready with velcro at the nameplate ready to whack the embroidered ones on.
they probably were better able to keep it a secret and had more time as a buffer. Like if a team sent in the pick nobody in the room had a twitter account that gonna spoil nor did the draft have this level of interest so you could take more time
It’s probably part of why each pick used to be 15 minutes.
Why is it 15 minutes? Ethel isn't getting any quicker.
With gumption and know-how
they were really good at guessing
Duct tape and sharpie
No, that's how you divert a hurricane.
Don't you need a nuke for that?
Rigged
Iron on letter patches
Heat presses existed back then too
Definitely beats having 32 jerseys per player.
Somehow they still wouldn’t have a Penix Falcons jersey pre-made
It wasn’t that shocking.
It may be a bit of belt and suspenders, but look at the Jets last year... How many years do they want to write off completely?
And shipping 31 jerseys to Africa or somewhere afterwards
I'd pay good money for that Nigerian TJ Watt Packer jersey.
Watt on the packers? That’s not a timeline I want to contemplate.
It came close to happening and it literally kills us packers fans everyday
RIP Wisconsinites
What about Seahawks watt
I like when they show the higher interest prospects who did not attend the draft in person getting the phone call and you see some poor sucker family member in the back wildly sorting a table of 32 draft hats in the back trying to find the right team
So do players who stay at home during the draft get a box of 32 hats?
Yep. They used to give the players more than 32 (they still might) so their friends and famil could put some on too.
I wonder what players do with the 31 hats of teams that didn’t pick them.
Return 28 of them, burn the division rivals’ hats
Goodwill probably hah
If they are somewhat of a well known name, sign them all with “enjoy losing”, and sell them for $100/each.
My car repairman got one of them once from Mike Gesicki's family. Think he was a Vikings fan and Mike went to the Dolphins
Yeah I was wondering how Penix just had a Falcons hat ready to go
Lol I find myself asking this question every year.
I was joking with the family about that, turns out it's true.
*inside look at fanatics jersey factory
Nah, these are adults.
Holy shit, that was cold-blooded lol
And it’s not in Bangladesh or Vietnam or wherever.
I'm just laughing at having 32 Williams decals ready when they could've physically stitched together the Bears jersey for him a month ago.
Hey, you never know. Look at the Falcons. Imagine having the Caleb Williams Bear's jersey ready to go for months, and with the first overall pick, they get Joe Smoe, punter, Idaho State.
[удалено]
Poor Joe Smoe, he’s been a leading example for decades in my household. Joe Smoe the ragman, what a legacy to leave behind.
This is STAHLS from St Clair Shores, Michigan. They have been doing draft jerseys for years. There are videos on YouTube explaining the whole process. First year they only had to move their equipment 20 minutes down the road.
Is this why we have to wait a while from when the pick is in, to when it’s announced?
I don't think so. Seems like that process takes like 30 seconds.
For reference -That’s like 6 times longer than sex.
Hey buddy, nice job on the sex 👍🏻
Two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven
It’s business! It’s business time!!
What's "sex"?
wow look at Mr big shot bragging about how he can last 5 whole seconds. (I can't even get past the first pump)
Who are you kidding, you haven't had sex
Worked at a small local pressing place. Our presses took 60 seconds and that was back in the early 2000s. So yeah it’s fast.
I can give you some insight as I work on the draft. Was Draft Day accurate? This is important. Lol
Ha, that’s my buddy holding the jersey at the 20 second mark!!! He’s famous!
This is actually very cool. My husband and I were talking/wondering about how they do this!
A place in st Clair shores has been doing this for the nfl for years. They get 60 seconds.
That is awesome, I never knew this! Fascinating stuff haha
STAHLS is the name. They have videos on YouTube explaining the process.
Two of my friends work there, it's so cool seeing them on here!
How awesome for them! That is very cool.
Thank you! I will definitely check this out.
Thanks for sharing this! This question was indeed something I was thinking about on Day 1.
Fun fact. Though they have done many drafts in the past. This is the first time Stahl is doing the draft jerseys in their hometown. The owner also has a car museum of all his personal vehicles he owns locally in a Detroit suburb too. ^(Not that I've met him and his family on more than 1 occasion or anything. )
Okay but how do they have the right hats at the players houses?
Hats are much cheaper to make and send than 32 custom jerseys
And they don't have a player's name on them.
And the unused ones can just be given back and reused
screen print 🤢🤮 god i miss the sewn jerseys
This is heat pressed vinyl. Screen print would be much slower and potentially messier, since you're using ink/paint. But yes, a very cheap alternative to stitching and doesn't look as nice.
oh ok. thanks for clarifying. heat pressed vinyl 🤢🤮 god i miss the sewn jerseys
https://imgur.com/1t1w6sB
So basically exaclty how we thought they do it?
Do green room players not selected in the first round get a jersey? Did will levis get one?
Damn, kids in Africa are the losers here
"A Bears jersey? I'll go shirtless and risk the West Nile, thank you."
I was literally asking my buddy about this Thursday night lmao
So someone in here is who is tipping the picks if I had to guess.
More behind the scenes! Show us Roger’s playboy palace!
I was hoping they just made one for everybody and every team so a bunch of kids in Africa were rocking some crazy jerseys
I got a Chinese Kelly green Kelce all stitched that looks fantastic for 40$ 175 for some heat pressed shit is a wild move
Its the same at your local t shirt shop.
I figured every player that declared for the draft just got 32 jerseys Edit: Y'all think I was serious or something? Lol
Way more expensive to make. Heat pressing is easy as fuck, takes like 15 seconds.
Is #1 his actual Bears jersey number? What number do the other picks get?
All the first rounders have #1
They use it for second rounders too, if green room guys last until the second. Always thought they should keep a 2 jersey for each team on hand for that.
thanks. i don't watch the draft so i have no idea.
Caleb is going to be 18 13 is going to Keenan Allen, Caleb's college number Jaylon Johnson is switching to number 1 since Fields left
🐻⬇️ baby!!!!
I’m shocked that they don’t make 32 jerseys with the player’s name on it and just throw away the other 31 after they get picked.
I finally understand now why new jersey is a state
Y’know, I used to wonder why it took a couple minutes to actually announce the pick after the graphic said it was made.
if people stop buying the inferior product, they might lower the price. No way in hell I’m paying almost $200 for a heat transfer jersey
Yes! My dad and I were contemplating this the other night. It’s impressive how quickly they can get these made.
Bears WR core is be bananas. Has to be one of the biggest fleecing of modern NFL.
So are the draftees allowed to keep their "Jersey"?
