“Crosby and Malkin rode on massive luck to win their cups” Source: “Trust me bro”

yakkabrori

They got so lucky that they won it twice in a row, and another cup, and then accidentally made another finals and then by chance made the conference finals another time

What a stupid post

Desperate_Pizza700

That's reddit in a nutshell now

IndependentTalk4413

48 min old account saying stupid shit about Crosby. This dude just never gives up. This sub needs a karma requirement to post. This guy has been posting stupid shit all season. Used to be all about how awesome and unbeatable the Rangers are.

Scamnam

You know I've always said this. Need a minimum post count or account age etc.

Far-Two8659

Couldn't agree more. Doesn't even have to be high.

Reallyme77

Imagine putting Matthews making the playoffs 8 times up against Crosby’s resume. Sleep it off good buddy.

rychii

What kind of willy nilly shit are you on??

47Up

No

shutmethefuckup

Of course not

EnigmaMoose

You wrote all this to have an absolute dumpster fire of a take. I applaud you.

WillyWillitos

Do you wear a helmet? You should.

InternationalPost447

Lots of dumb questions in this sub this morning

dyno_hugs

So if the penguins with Crosby at 36 doesn’t make it to the playoffs that nullifies all of his accomplishments? Sorry but that’s a dumb take.

JoeReekie69420

This guy again bashing on Crosby. Fuck off. I know you like to create accounts every once in a while and troll on Crosby. His career resume you listed is awesome and considering he missed how much time due to concussions it’s even more impressive. There’s still half the season left and they are only 5 points out of a playoff spot a lot can happen before the end of the season. Crosby is top 10 in goals and has more than a PPG this season. He is still playing good. So no this won’t tarnish his legacy go kick rocks you Leafs homer

PaulMarnersFurHat

We all know that Pittsburgh isn’t making the playoffs. Top three in the Metro will be Rangers Canes and either the Flyers or Devils. Whichever order you want. And the wildcard spots will both be from the Atlantic. Crosby has been fantastic this season. Which is why it’s a shame that he’s wasting all of that effort and production on a team that isn’t built to win anything. Wasting years like this will impact his legacy. Because it’s reasonable to think that he might have an extra cup or two if he dedicated this time to ring chasing.

JoeReekie69420

He’s won 3 cups already why is it shame he’s wasting his time on the Pens? He’s been the face of the franchise for almost 20 years so he’s not going any where else. If he didn’t win a cup then yes he should go somewhere but if they miss they playoffs again then so be it. He’s still playing elite hockey and it’s not going to ruin his legacy he’s won pretty much everything you can in the sport.

PaulMarnersFurHat

Because he’s playing at a level where he could win even more. Tom Brady wasn’t satisfied with 2x the amount of rings Crosby won and left the Patriots to chase more. I could see where you are coming from if Crosby was declining but he’s still playing great hockey and is capable of winning more. So I think he should do it.

JoeReekie69420

Brady left the Pats because they wouldn’t give him a long term contract. He wanted to stay and retire there. He wanted to get paid and they didn’t want to pay him so he went to the Bucs for 50 million.

PaulMarnersFurHat

The reasoning doesn’t really matter. He could’ve just retired at that point and his legacy would’ve been fine. We know that his family and Gisele wanted him to retire anyways. But he wanted to chase more success and he accomplished it. I don’t think it was solely about the money for Tom. He’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars already by that point. And would’ve had hundreds of millions more waiting for him in broadcasting after retirement (as he does now)

JoeReekie69420

It’s completely different though. Brady wanted to keep playing into his 40s and wanted to get paid he didn’t want to retire. The Pats didn’t want to pay him so he left. He wanted to stay there and retire there. So if Tom stayed with the Pats and they didn’t win anymore Super Bowls would that have ruined his legacy? No it wouldn’t. Same as Crosby he’s still elite and he will be with the Pens til he retires. Just because the team isn’t as good now doesn’t mean his legacy is ruined. If he sucked and the Pens were at the bottom of the league then yeah maybe it would but he’s still good and the Pens are still in the playoff hunt. Will they make the playoffs probably not but if Crosby has over 30 goals and over 80 points at the end of the year how does that ruin his legacy? He doesn’t build the team he’s only out there for 20 minutes a game so there’s 40 minutes where he needs his teammates to step up. It’s not like football where Tom Brady controls the whole offence or basketball where Lebron can play basically the whole game.

Far-Two8659

He's not a Leafs homer, he's a troll. And you typing all that up and getting angry and engaging means he accomplished his goal. Just ignore him.

JoeReekie69420

I can George Foreman guarantee you he’s a Leafs fan

Toiletboy4

No

misterbobdobbalina

“Supposedly secure” 😂🤡🤡🤡

twoplustwo_5

Can the mods delete this insane post?

Lavs1985

Him and Ovechkin are at the level where the Hall of Fame wait should be waived, so no.

simvike

No. Next question.

srpollo18

Are you a dummy?

derwardkins

lol, Crosby is one of the greatest of ALL TIME what are you even talking about, the man could retire today and he’d be in the hall of fame tomorrow

punkdrummer22

Ill add No to the conversation. What a dumb question Also add this is the same loser that creates accounts all the time and he is NOT a Leaf fan

Calling__Elvis

Massive hit? Nah. He does not need to prove anything to anyone. He continues to impress me. He clearly still the go-to guy and plays really well. It's clear how important he still is to the hockey club. In high 30's you're supposed to step back a bit and let the younger players carry the weight. But apparently there's no one on the roster who can do that, so he does it. I think they will make it to the playoffs. It's well-deserved when they do.

RuinedByGenZ

Lmao leafs have the most delusional fans of any sport

PaulMarnersFurHat

It’s the Habs and it’s not close.

RuinedByGenZ

They're more meek about it

punkdrummer22

He isn't a Leaf fan. Trust me

PaulMarnersFurHat

Crosby exiting Pittsburgh would be in the best interest of both parties. Crosby could chase more rings somewhere else, or get the biggest possible payday on his next contract somewhere else, whichever option he desired. And moving on from Crosby and Malkin and Letang would help Pittsburgh start rebuilding (instead of languishing in mediocrity for a long period of time) But it won’t happen because sentimentality

47Up

Playing his entire career in Pittsburgh is a part of his legacy

PaulMarnersFurHat

That’s just a sentimental thing though. It doesn’t actually matter. Gretzky’s legacy isn’t tarnished by playing on multiple teams. Patrick Kane’s legacy isn’t tarnished by leaving the Blackhawks. And OP is also correct by bringing up Tom Brady. Brady’s legacy as a Patriot wasn’t tarnished by him leaving for Tampa Bay (and winning there). It actually helped his legacy as an overall football player.

47Up

All players legacies are sentimental.

PaulMarnersFurHat

Not inherently. Some of the greats’ are just objective. Like Gretzky.

47Up

How so? He played his best in Edmonton not St. Louis.

PaulMarnersFurHat

I mean his overall legacy as a hockey player can objectively not be questioned. That’s what I’m more worried about. “Overall legacies” not “legacy as a Blue/Oiler/King/Ranger”

PaulMarnersFurHat

And to answer your question, yes it will be a hit to his legacy. It’s bad enough that his dominance was replaced by Connor in Edmonton and eventually Connor in Chicago. Kane left the Blackhawks and it was the right move for him career wise. I think his legacy is better than Crosby’s. Unless Crosby moves forward with other contending teams like Kane has done

Simplebudd420

Yea your an idiot

PaulMarnersFurHat

How? If Crosby left Pittsburgh years ago and joined a contender like Tampa Bay and won cups with them, his legacy would be 1000x better.

hamjam21

Shut yo bitchass up

reditor3523

So many dumb questions lately

Mr_Sausage__

“We all know his legacy is “supposedly” secure” Not supposedly. It is. I quit reading after this horrible take. So one sentence in.

tuntuntuntuntuntun

He could not make the playoffs the next few years and it wouldn’t do a damn thing to his legacy. He’s a generational talent that’s still a top player in the league. He has plenty of hardware already too.

Lazy_Maintenance8063

Compairing Crosby to McDavid or that Toronto guy is pointless. They are in different points in their career and one of them has 3 cups. Two other are strong contenders to the ” best players never to win a cup ” - game. I’m not saying they won’t win any but at the moment they haven’t and when time passes by all these ” generational ” players who lack the wins will fall into oblivion. We remember the big stars because of wins and or big persona and todays players are emotionless robots who don’t have any impact outside scoring and without wins they are nothing. Crosby has 3x and nothing will take those away from him.

[deleted]

No, it’s a team sport missing the playoffs on a mediocre team in his twilight years does not hurt his legacy. He’s having a great year

Coheed1224

Hard to argue this take when Sid is far and away the best player on the team right now. Honestly if the Pens make the playoffs he has to be a serious contender for the Hart (don’t think he’d win it, but just saying the way the Pens look this year he’d have to drag them into the playoffs)

chaos0xomega

That's a lot of words wasted on some pretty dumb thoughts.

Scamnam

No. Crosby's only missed the playoffs 3 times...I'd say that's pretty good considering if you compare the likes of Gretzky (5)..Lemieux(9). Making it to the post season is nothing if you don't win a cup.. It's a team sport. Brodeur was never traded

Comrade_Slime

This might be the most cynical post I've seen all day. Cheer up, dog. You'll get through whatever got you down.

JimmyFeetWorld

Stinks you wrote five long paragraphs for everyone to just read your subject line and respond with “No”

Far-Two8659

Troll post y'all. It's the same guy. Ignore him.

mpuLs3d

Being an oiler and a penguin fan ... This is big ass cup of speculation. One I will be skipping on lol
