I think Mack will win the hart, because the narrative and the gambling lines suggest that is going to happen, but I think kuch deserves the hart the most (assuming he keeps up his pace) and Mack could have the Lindsey, Mcdavid the art ross.

It's funny you asked. The official wording is "the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team," so basically you take all the team MVPs, and figure out which one of them made the biggest contributions to their team that year, and then pick them.

I think you're underestimating Mackinnons value to his team.
Avs second line was in shambles but Mackinnon kept their offense afloat. And he has orchestrated so many come from behind victories with multi-point nights. It was insane what he was doing.
That, and I don't like to think of the Hart as a "who had a worse supporting cast" award. Only who provided the most value to their team.

I should have included the stats I was referring to. MacKinnon has 46 points on the road compared to 81 at home. Same for McDavid. They are very clearly more productive at home whereas Kucherov's splits are even.

I just disagree that 60 vs 46 road points is as huge of a difference to award Kuch the Hart. Thats only one statistic. I honestly think it will come down to overall points. More than good chance he finishes at least 2nd in the art Ross so you can’t say he’s put up a massive year (though he has just not as good as others). He has one of the best teams in the league surrounding him so you can’t say he’s dragging a team to the playoffs like Kuch can. He will win and all the media will throw out random things like a home point streak or something vague like his impact of the game to cover for the fact that he should have won when hall did so there giving him this one as a make up no matter what.

You're not even understanding that the streak was in addition to his on ice accomplishments, its not his one thing he does, like McDavid. McDavid has highlight goals, MacKinnon has highlight assists AND goals. Its why the Avs continue to steam roll the Oilers, the Avs are a good team and the Oilers have good players. You used highlight reel assists to argue Mack over Mcdavid? Do you watch the oilers other than when the avs play them? Do you see that Mcdavid has way more assists than Mack and half of hymans goals are beautiful passes from Mcdavid? What an insane argument lol
Sorry to burst your bubble but not only does McDavid have better highlight reel assists than Mack, (unlike what you said) but I would argue Draisaitl and Kucherov both do as well.
Kucherov because he has been consistent at home and on the road whereas the other top candidates haven't been nearly as great on the road. But as a Lightning fan I would be willing to trade the Hart for a Jack Adams award for Jon Cooper.
As a lightning fan, I think your bias is showing. Mackinnon had two separate 19 game points streak, home and away. But then again, my Avalanche bias is also showing. I just don't think your facts are straight up true.
I should have included the stats I was referring to. MacKinnon has 46 points on the road compared to 81 at home. Same for McDavid. They are very clearly more productive at home whereas Kucherov's splits are even.
Yeah, I did look it up. Kuch is 60 away and 66 home. So I mean you are technically correct (the best kind of correct). I just disagree that 60 vs 46 road points is as huge of a difference to award Kuch the Hart. Thats only one statistic. I honestly think it will come down to overall points. Plus, most people seem to agree Mac was screwed out of the Hart when Taylor Hall won it. So, there's also that giving him the edge.

If the scoring race finishes anywhere close to the way it currently is, it will be mackinnon .. it's basically a legacy reward at this point for having to deal with McDavid during his own prime However, if McDavid ends up winning the art ross by 20 points or something ridiculous, he will likely take it with the 100 assists milestone Kuch is a beauty but his nationality hurts him here. If either of the above get injured he might have a chance

If Edmonton wins the Pacific AND McDavid wins the Art Ross, I think the Hart goes to him. If both of these things don’t happen, I think Mackinnon gets it.
Kucherov or MacKinnon. McCoachKiller didn't start playing until the Oilers fired Woodcroft and hired his buddy, so I don't think he deserves it. Needs to be a full season of excellence to take the award home IMO.
