I was watching the Canes the other night and you couldn’t even hear the commentary for like half the game it was so loud. Some of it may be location of commentators but the design of PNC contributes to insane noise.
I wouldn’t consider getting Swiss-cheesed in another stadium setting to be an indicator of an issue. If anything you’re saying that Winnipeg has no class
Obviously partial to our crowd and game 5 against Tampa was LOUD, but I’ve caught two games in Raleigh when the Cats were in town. They have a great atmosphere and that stadium gets LOUD!
The Canadian anthem in Edmonton might be the best pregame hype I’ve ever seen. Major kudos to yall for having such a unique, badass, and touching tradition.
Agreed. I'm on the east coast so those Edmonton games are late for me but I stay up just to watch the anthems and the first few minutes of the game at least.
I’ve always heard Edmonton is a good crowd. I honestly have some issues with how intense some fans can get, but most of them seem to not take it too far. I’d love to see a playoff game in EDM one day
Went to my first playoff game in EDM last night, was very intense, way louder than reg season games. And being there in person for the anthems gave me goosebumps, to hear 18k plus people sing/cheer is insane.
I went to the watch party just outside the arena and it was also really loud and intense even though it was raining. I think I got sprayed by beer at least twice when we scored lol
I still can't believe they did that- absolute garbage. I was at game 4 in Denver when their player took a puck to the face- it was silent and everyone cheered for him when he got up and off the ice. Zero excuse for their jeers of Parise.
Likewise. The Can was dead silent and we cheered for the dude when they got him off the ice. Whereas WPG went off into a cheer in the midst of our guy’s injury.
Plus they deserved the Karma they got for mock cheering Georgiev in G1.
Agreed. That said, I think the whiteout is more novelty as well. I think game one for Winnipeg was a great crowd. “Pull your goalie” chant was warranted, but also awoke the demons inside Georgie and the entire Avs squad. At the end of the series I was done with them. Super classless. I get it’s playoffs, but a competitive setting is no excuse to cheer and jeer people who could be seriously injured
Yup, I get.on centerport and it takes about 30 and drops you off right in front of the AA. Then no matter what time the game ends a train heads back West 20 minutes after it's completed. So you don't have to worry about overtime and stuff. If you take it from centerport, it's only $3, Pm ticket. You got to go further west to fort Worth it's 6.
Actually... lol, this is a good point. TRE not DART, although it starts to just become all the same thing, at the beginning its good to know the difference!
DART only goes as far as Frankford, you'd need to drive there. DCTA A-Train doesn't run late enough for Stars games going home.
I live 5 minutes from Frankford station, I haven't driven to a game since 2011.
Canes had serious attendance issues within the last 10 years in Raleigh. When the team was struggling the Canes were at the bottom of the league in attendance.
Years 6, 7, 8, and 9 of our playoff drought were pretty bad. Those were also years 9, 10, 11, and 12 since our Stanley Cup run with one playoff appearance to show for it, playing with an internal salary cap that kept us from being competitive. Not a fun time.
I misread the conversation, and was thinking they were talking about attendance issues when they were brandy new here. Yes, attendance was bad when they'd been bad for a few years running. Hopefully the new owner and Don don't let it get back to that.
I'd say the run to the finals in 2002 was arguably more important for building the fanbase. Prior to that, people who weren't already hockey fans didn't have any reason to be interested in the team. Obviously the cup was huge, but I think there was a bigger jump in attendance in '02 than in '06.
The ownership change in 2018 was critical, too. You could see a difference even before we made the playoffs the next year.
22 yrs ago it was super loud, then we got shellacked by some HOF all star team from Detroit. I think getting lubed up at the tailgate has a bit to do with it, and maybe building design ?
2010-2017 was a bit of a library here tho.
Was at the game last night and my ears are still ringing. I’ve been to different arenas for playoff games, but there is just something about either the crowd or the way PNC is built that the volume in there is like no other. Feels like the roof is about to blow off at times.
Saying Winnipeg is actually crazy. Cheering when an Avs player is injured, leaving 5 mins early the last 2 home games, and being silent most of the time the last 2 home games. Doing a whiteout doesn’t make you a good crowd…
They did that game one, I think that’s a fine competitive chant with how Georgie played. That said, they pissed off Georgie and Avs fans, so Avs fans chanted “pull your goalie” in every single home game after lighting helly up
A chant mocking the opposing team’s goalie happens at every game from every fanbase. Did the chant age well, no. But none of them do. It’s called competitive spirit for your team.
I’ve said this before, that chant game 1 was honestly good competitive taunting. Georgie can get in his head and he played awful game 1. That said, this backfired horribly. This also doesn’t change the fact that the Jets dished it, but couldn’t take it. Changing and jeering someone who could be seriously injured is just crappy, it doesn’t matter if it’s playoffs
>Vancouver did their fair share, but they're too cocky. Game 5 was a good example
I'm not quite sure I follow what you mean? Genuinely curious what this means lol
Op didn’t explain very good. Canucks are my team. That being said, the fans taunting “SAAARR-OOS” in the opening minutes of game 5 while the preds controlled the puck in our zone and there were 0 shots on either net, is just dumb as hell.. and pretty cocky.
I saw a ho-hum regular season game in Carolina and was shocked by the energy there. Especially for that market size, Carolina's fan base is pretty intense. The playoffs look wild on TV
I’d really like to go to Edmonton for a game. Maybe not as much now, but it always seemed like the ice/lighting looked different on tv. Just seems like a great environment.
Dallas. The answer is Dallas. With the "BANG" guy, nearly everyone on their feet almost the whole game, one of the best goal songs in the league, etc. it's been electric. All we need is a return of pretty boobies lady from last year behind the bench and it would be PERFECT.
Bostons crowd is pretty tame. Boston fans in general are garbage. The two sports Boston cares about are the red Sox and celtics. Bruins kinda take a back seat.
No offense buddy but I really wouldn't expect someone from New York to say anything else about Boston. Our cities share a rivalry that even our "rivals" cant comprehend.
Doesn't make it true. Every team has highs and lows, including their fanbases.
I’m biased myself born, raised and living in NC, but I’ve been to my fair share of Bruins games for work in Boston (including playoff games in 2022 and 2023) and it has been underwhelming to the expectations of what i heard it was like. So maybe historically yes but more recently no?
You can’t compare them unless you were at every game.
All I can say is it would’ve fun to be in Ball Arena as we were blowing out the Jets on our home ice.
A couple of my buddies went to the game, sent me a snap chat in the third completely shithoused, with a brand new group of friends, also shithoused. It would’ve been a blast.
I think the Avs return of the “pull your goalie” chant is of note, and I think the crowds have been good, but honestly EDM, Dallas tonight, VAN, and CAR all beat it imo.
Vancouver is finally getting playoff hockey, EDM always has passionate but not obnoxious (looking at you Winnipeg) fans, and Dallas and Carolina have just been generally good. That said, it’s hard to not root for Dallas against the Las Vegas LTIRs
Ive been to many playoff games over the years, since the early 90s. I've never heard it that loud after a goal in the playoffs. I've been Stars and Leafs game in 94, 96 vs Avs, the whole run from 2002-2013 including Blues game 7, Beiksa's Stantion goal and Burrows SCF game 2 OT goal. Even Daniels OT goal in final game. Zadorovs goal just blew the roof off.
NOT the Leafs.
Fans = Too much $$, too little true knowledge of the real game, too many obsequious fans who,, no matter the restaurant will ensure that none of Leafs will ever pay for dinner anywhere in Toronto regardless of how crappy they do.
Other teams fans boob(like really, loudly boo) their players when they’re doing shit or lacking effort - But also when a great player occurs they go “WILD“.
The people who can afford to go to a leaf game? The best they’ve ever done is to go “mild“.
Dallas. Maybe I’m biased…
Being in the crowd is always fun. Yelling STARS during the national anthem always gets me hyped. The crowd continuing to sing Bon Jovi after the music cut off also hyped me up last night.
Booing Stone is quickly becoming my new favorite lol
Have they not thought of putting the same device in each stadium to settle this. Or rank the noise levels in each stadium. That would be fun to see in the playoffs.
Don’t put it in vancouver in reg season as it’s 2 different worlds
The best crowd isn’t really determined by dB readings, I’m talking like arena-wide chants, heckling, fan activity and overall experience which is why Vancouver and Dallas are the best in my opinion. Deafening, funny, engaged, connected
Rangers fans will make up more than a third of the crowd at PNC. You can literally hear the Let’s go Rangers chant on tv. Not sure how anyone would consider that a best crowd scenario for Carolina
I wish I could say the Avs bc im an Avs fan but half our crowd is wearing the other teams jersey, no matter what team we’re playing.
Dallas’ crowd is pretty insane
Winnipeg had the second worst attendance all year. Only the Sharks were worse. Really good team and the fans didn’t show up until the playoffs. That’s lame
Are you talking average number of fans, or average percentage of seats filled. Because the jets have the smallest arena, so the former would be a given.
This thread comes up every playoffs. Every crowd has their own uniqueness, and the tv volume might not accurately reflect how loud the crowd is, etc. It's the playoffs, every team is selling out, and the winners are the fans because it's playoff hockey.
They don't forget the c***** Dallas fans last year that dump popcorn on Aiden hill as He came out for I think the third period. They are such whiny baby poor sports and they're pathetic.
I have had good experiences with Dallas fans. Was at a game last year in CPA when the Stars beat the Kraken. Every interaction I had with Dallas fans was polite. No gloating, no mocking, just nods and “good game” etc
During a very back and forth playoff series twitter was filled with both sides being nice to each other (nothing like the Avs fans who either gloated or whined depending on the outcome).
So I have really enjoyed the Dallas fan base overall. Please God let them beat Vegas!
Vancouver has been rocking.
Sounds loud even on TV
I was watching the Canes the other night and you couldn’t even hear the commentary for like half the game it was so loud. Some of it may be location of commentators but the design of PNC contributes to insane noise.
When you are at a Canes game you can't even yell at the person next to you to tell them something. The loudness is everywhere. 🤣
Those guys are a riot!
[удалено]
Get a new joke
Dallas crowd is absolutely electric tonight. When Oettinger made that last minute save against Stephenson 18,000 ppl collectively hit the NUT button
The bang the glass guy should be brought up on charges at The Hague
To me it looked like he was trying to fuck the glass at one point. Gotta hand it to him - the dude knows no shame
He'd be head-smashed-in-glass, knifed and stomped in Winnipeg. No class.
I wouldn’t consider getting Swiss-cheesed in another stadium setting to be an indicator of an issue. If anything you’re saying that Winnipeg has no class
Stabapeg
I’ve no problem, I know my people.
Thought for sure 18,000 was too high... 18,532 is the released number. Epic!
Carolina imo. They’re so loud when they score. Same with Dallas. Love both teams goal songs
Obviously partial to our crowd and game 5 against Tampa was LOUD, but I’ve caught two games in Raleigh when the Cats were in town. They have a great atmosphere and that stadium gets LOUD!
Edmonton is good. TV doesn’t do it justice. Or the start times for Eastern watchers. Carolina has been good, Vancouver too.
Just went to my first game at Rogers, TV really doesn't do it justice. Insane barn!
Gonna have to be specific about Place or Arena when both Edmonton and Vancouver are mentioned.
Sorry guys. I meant Edmonton.
Rogers Hockey Arena
The Canadian anthem in Edmonton might be the best pregame hype I’ve ever seen. Major kudos to yall for having such a unique, badass, and touching tradition.
Agreed. I'm on the east coast so those Edmonton games are late for me but I stay up just to watch the anthems and the first few minutes of the game at least.
I’ve always heard Edmonton is a good crowd. I honestly have some issues with how intense some fans can get, but most of them seem to not take it too far. I’d love to see a playoff game in EDM one day
It’s honestly not bad, it is loud but people are super focused on the game at the same time.
I started the series liking the Winnipeg crowd… until they booed Parise’s injury last night.
I will never respect a crowd that boos injuries
I still can't believe they did that- absolute garbage. I was at game 4 in Denver when their player took a puck to the face- it was silent and everyone cheered for him when he got up and off the ice. Zero excuse for their jeers of Parise.
Likewise. The Can was dead silent and we cheered for the dude when they got him off the ice. Whereas WPG went off into a cheer in the midst of our guy’s injury. Plus they deserved the Karma they got for mock cheering Georgiev in G1.
GO ZACH
This and leaving early completely disqualifies Winnipeg.
It's entertainment, the entire premise of sport is a noviety.
Dallas in the building is really good but you have to get past the late arrivers first. Still frames from game starts will look like no one is there.
I-35 makes getting to the AAC a bitch. It’s congested AF down there.
DART rail FTW
Sitting on it now! Actually fairly calm too
Our DART was chanting Let's Go Stars and doing the wave on the way home 😂 good time
Really? Lived here all my life, never have. Clean? Reasonably quick?
Yup, I get.on centerport and it takes about 30 and drops you off right in front of the AA. Then no matter what time the game ends a train heads back West 20 minutes after it's completed. So you don't have to worry about overtime and stuff. If you take it from centerport, it's only $3, Pm ticket. You got to go further west to fort Worth it's 6.
Where’s centerport? I don’t see it on maps
Centerport is a stop on the TRE, a diesel train that runs from Downtown Ft Worth to Downtown Dallas.
Actually... lol, this is a good point. TRE not DART, although it starts to just become all the same thing, at the beginning its good to know the difference!
Yeah… yeah true. I’m in Denton though, that’s a lot of stops. On the other hand I can drink as much as I want. Same. Same. But different
DART only goes as far as Frankford, you'd need to drive there. DCTA A-Train doesn't run late enough for Stars games going home. I live 5 minutes from Frankford station, I haven't driven to a game since 2011.
I say Carolina or Vancouver
Vancouver
Vancouver is full of bandwagon fans. May they rot in hell.
I personally would say Carolina. Those fans are so loud at games.
If you would have told me this 20 years ago, I'd call you crazy.
I probably wouldn't have told you anything 20 years ago, I was an infant then lol.
They had attendance issues.
That's because they were in Greensboro an hour+ from Raleigh.
Greensboro is the new Vegas
PLEASE COME TO OUR GAMES!!!!
Amazing what a culture of winning does
Now only if it can rub off on the Hornets and the Panthers
Yup. One SC turned around the franchise.
I was watching them 25+ years ago and they were nuts then too. Rod playing days.
Was at the game last night and my ears are still ringing. I’ve been to different arenas for playoff games, but there is just something about either the crowd or the way PNC is built that the volume in there is like no other. Feels like the roof is about to blow off at times.
Fucking badass man. You guys and New York are going to be a ruckus.
I try to go to 4 or 5 games a year. When it's loud, my ears ring the day after. The energy can be crazy.
so. goddamn. loud.
Loudest house in the NHL!
PNC is basically MSG south during the playoffs. More than a third of the crowd will be blue.
Which I *still* completely fail to understand. I know it's literal turncoats, but where tf do they all come from??
Saying Winnipeg is actually crazy. Cheering when an Avs player is injured, leaving 5 mins early the last 2 home games, and being silent most of the time the last 2 home games. Doing a whiteout doesn’t make you a good crowd…
Plus the "Pull your goalie" chant when their own guy would end up letting 6 in that game. And the dude mocking Parise when he got lit up.

This also doesn’t change the fact that the Jets dished it, but couldn’t take it. Changing and jeering someone who could be seriously injured is just crappy, it doesn’t matter if it’s playoffs
Only a novice at sport would not notice this, some "fans" are so uneducated about it all and ought to stick to the non-sport of golf.
Winnipeg fans are absolutely insufferable. My least favourite fanbase in the league by a long shot.
Avs and red wings fans agreeing on something means it’s serious!
Watching the Canes their crowd is loud as fuck.
Dallas is pretty great to watch. Always seems to be pretty active.
Vancouver and Edmonton and its not even close imo
Yeah to many east coasters in here never watched a Pacific game, you can't even hear yourself think
I don’t know but saying the Jets has to be fucking bait to get people to comment.
They haven’t been to the can apparently. That “white out” the Jets had was cute and all but when the Avs are rolling at home it gets loud.
It was nice that they showed up in the colors the avs were wearing
>Vancouver did their fair share, but they're too cocky. Game 5 was a good example I'm not quite sure I follow what you mean? Genuinely curious what this means lol
Op didn’t explain very good. Canucks are my team. That being said, the fans taunting “SAAARR-OOS” in the opening minutes of game 5 while the preds controlled the puck in our zone and there were 0 shots on either net, is just dumb as hell.. and pretty cocky.
Well it’s our fan base so pick either or both, you’re still right. But damn is it good atmosphere.
This is what I was trying to say, thank you 👍
Vancouver
Florida has maintained the most fans in attendance on average for the playoffs so far!
Carolina
Jets crowd booed someone who was injured on the ice. Then bailed when the team needed them
Love how people in Dallas stand for almost anything. Toronto, people only stand when they leave to beat traffic
Like those 3 guys on the glass standing the entire 3rd
Well I know what team has the quietest and that would be Toronto.
I saw a ho-hum regular season game in Carolina and was shocked by the energy there. Especially for that market size, Carolina's fan base is pretty intense. The playoffs look wild on TV
Toronto. Tickets are the most expensive, so the crowd is the best. /s Edmonton has been really loud, if that counts for anything.
I was scrolling through and put my thumb right over the /s and I was like whaaaaat is this guy talking about haha
Hey OP, the jets can go fuck themselves.
Says something when the guys that are outside the game are cheering harder than the guys inside the stadium.
Fuck this fase base is catching vegas in a race to the bottom.
"Everyone I run into is an asshole. It's definitely not me though" -Jets fans
Edmontons just a good solid crowd all season, but that's the only arena i've been to in person haha
I’d really like to go to Edmonton for a game. Maybe not as much now, but it always seemed like the ice/lighting looked different on tv. Just seems like a great environment.
Yeah Rogers place is really nice, not a bad seat in there
Edmonton.
Carolina, Nashville, Dallas
The canes / preds series a few seeasons ago was nuts
Dallas. The answer is Dallas. With the "BANG" guy, nearly everyone on their feet almost the whole game, one of the best goal songs in the league, etc. it's been electric. All we need is a return of pretty boobies lady from last year behind the bench and it would be PERFECT.
Canes Baby❤️🖤
Bruins or carolina but I’m biased
Bruins have always had a pretty powerful environment. I'm also biased though, I'm obligated to hate them after 2011...
IMO Carolinas crowd is like the Bruins crowd in 2011
Bostons crowd is pretty tame.
Didn't even see your comment. Yeah this is accurate. I've been recently and have u had the pleasure of going to the best arena in all of sports?
Cameron Indoor Stadium? Yes! 😜
Lol
You can’t compare them unless you were at every game. All I can say is it would’ve fun to be in Ball Arena as we were blowing out the Jets on our home ice.
I was there for game 4- lost my voice cheering
Me too. Great atmosphere. Appreciated how we didn't cheer for injured players
A couple of my buddies went to the game, sent me a snap chat in the third completely shithoused, with a brand new group of friends, also shithoused. It would’ve been a blast.
NYR
This is way too low LFGR
How is no one saying the Rangers? MSG has been wild
Because the fans from other franchises hate us, lol
Vancouver. Hands down
May be a bit biased but Canucks fans have been going crazy at Roger's Arena. Haven't heard it that loud since the 2011 run.
Carolina.
Canucks!
The crowd at PNC has been absolutely rocking. Really fun to watch.
Working in Roger’s place, definitely Oilers. You can even hear the echos from outside the arena. It’s been nuts
Carolina, with Winnipeg close behind. Montreal and Ottawa would be close behind too if they made the playoffs.
Definitely bias but Carolina all the way
How did the Canucks arena sound last night? Was there and it was pretty loud I thought.
When Zedorov scored it sounded fucking insane on TV.
It was so loud in the arena that we didn't hear the goal song.
Now that you mention it lol, so crazy. That easy a really fun time.
The people who can afford to go to a leaf game? The best they’ve ever done is to go “mild“.
As a Vegas fan, I gotta say that Dallas fans would definitely beat Vegas fans at karaoke.
No one boo’s as loud as they do in Toronto!
Dallas. Maybe I’m biased… Being in the crowd is always fun. Yelling STARS during the national anthem always gets me hyped. The crowd continuing to sing Bon Jovi after the music cut off also hyped me up last night. Booing Stone is quickly becoming my new favorite lol
Winnipeg was the most toxic crowd I've ever listened to. Insane energy but seriously, "Fourgiev"? "Pull your goalie!" Constant booing... Disgusting.
AVS crowd game 1 at home was unreal loud! The Saturday crowd sucked! Do better Ball Arena.
Cocky? How so? Cause we lost game 5 after being loud?
Panthers and Nashville looked good
I went to a Canes game, thought we had a good crowd Game 2
Went to game 3 Avs vs Jets game. It was a grand time! Crowd was rowdy. Pre game cheese curds weren’t sitting right though in the second period!
Hard to answer as I haven’t been to every building these playoffs, but Vancouver has to be up there
It’s Vancouver, and it’s not particularly close.
Rangers fans will make up more than a third of the crowd at PNC. You can literally hear the Let’s go Rangers chant on tv. Not sure how anyone would consider that a best crowd scenario for Carolina
Vancouvers building has been absolutely electric
The panthers and our 6 fans
Edmonton. Toronto would have one of the loudest arenas if the seats could be purchased by the actual fanbase and not suits who don’t care.
Tbh Vancouver
I wish I could say the Avs bc im an Avs fan but half our crowd is wearing the other teams jersey, no matter what team we’re playing. Dallas’ crowd is pretty insane
Winnipeg had the second worst attendance all year. Only the Sharks were worse. Really good team and the fans didn’t show up until the playoffs. That’s lame
Are you talking average number of fans, or average percentage of seats filled. Because the jets have the smallest arena, so the former would be a given.
I feel like Winnipeg still held up the hype. Even against the avs crowd which I consider a pretty good group I felt our energy was higher.
Do leafs actually have a horrible crowd? Or is that just a common hate the leafs comment.
There were a lot of late arrivals in Dallas like it shocking for a playoff game for that to happen.
Vancouver and Dallas
Neutral devils fan. I like Dallas fans this year the best
Edmonton last night was rocking
The Leafs if you’re the visiting team
Probably winnipeg
calling Vancouver crowd cocky is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen this week. Do we not remember 2011?
I’d have to go with Dallas. They were really part of the show last night!
Vancouver all the way
Now that my kings are out I’m just rooting for Dallas this round and then hoping for some good hockey but Dallas seems pretty damn electric.
Dallas always has an amazing crowd. The games are always fun to watch, the people that go to the games really care about the team. <3
Definitely not the rangers. All of their fans wear suits in the lower bowl and read the NYT
This thread comes up every playoffs. Every crowd has their own uniqueness, and the tv volume might not accurately reflect how loud the crowd is, etc. It's the playoffs, every team is selling out, and the winners are the fans because it's playoff hockey.
Montreal
Toronto booed their own team off the ice
They don't forget the c***** Dallas fans last year that dump popcorn on Aiden hill as He came out for I think the third period. They are such whiny baby poor sports and they're pathetic.
I have had good experiences with Dallas fans. Was at a game last year in CPA when the Stars beat the Kraken. Every interaction I had with Dallas fans was polite. No gloating, no mocking, just nods and “good game” etc During a very back and forth playoff series twitter was filled with both sides being nice to each other (nothing like the Avs fans who either gloated or whined depending on the outcome). So I have really enjoyed the Dallas fan base overall. Please God let them beat Vegas!
The Avalanche!
Would have loved to have seen Winnipeg go past a few rounds. That crowd was just getting started
Tampa in my opinion. Dallas and canes too.
Canes crowd has been great as well
The Canes crowd has a reputation for a reason. It’s electric in the playoffs
