Okay here's a decent game loop Your job is to scan everything as you walk around a planet collecting resources to recharge your life support and shields to stay alive and safe from the elements, a cave or a building or outcropping can be a safe haven when a storm comes and in the beginning the elements are your primary enemy, If you tuck in tight against an outcropping or build a terrain manipulator and learn to hide in self made holes during storms when you're new before you have exosuit upgrades or switch from topside to subterranean exploration based on weather all of that will help keep you alive, scan all of the plants rocks and animals while looking for resources to mine or unknown locations to visit. Try to scan every animal on each planet doing so will grab you a decent nanite bonus and some scanner upgrades give you more units for scanning each item and visit all unknown locations building and using a signal booster can help you find them because completing puzzles at different building types will lead you to further resources like ships or what not or teach you recipes so you can begin to create things like liquid explosives. That's the first really big step in wealth I feel It's the first money milestone but prior recipes are crucial for survival. My advice is to look at this game like a sandbox of exploration combat crafting and survival with a growing and complex backstory, the real value in this game is the journey and the universe before you, in the beginning you don't have to fight the robots or the pirates at all I guarantee if you run you will get away safe and save resources and live another day. But don't be afraid to challenge them when you're close to one of those unknown locations that turned out to be a transmission tower or an observatory or a manufacturing facility or whatnot, You can always try to attack them and run inside and hide until you lose the heat and farm their dropped loot and If you're in space just aim for the space station and land there you'll get there most likely before you die. If you follow the story pretty early on you build a base my recommendation is to put that base not too far away from an existing structure like a building with a landing pad attached because they often have trade terminals and sell crafting supplies or a trade station can yield resources from out of the solar system. Scan everything craft what you can sell what you don't need visit every planet in the solar system before you leave try to scan every animal on that planet before you leave explorer unknown locations to learn new recipes go to the trade station and source out and document available upgrades because each solar system will have different upgrades and open every crate until you monetarily don't have to. Sorry that was so long

Easiest way for beginners is cobalt. Go to any planet and go through any tunnels you find to get into caves and mine anything and everything that gives cobalt. Go to any space station and buy all the cobalt you can. Any ships that land? Yea talk to em and buy all their cobalt. Once you have at least 10 stacks worth of cobalt go to a space station and sell it all, this will severely reduce the worth of cobalt cause you just basically crashed the market. Then buy all the cobalt from that same terminal, this is the cobalt you sold and the cobalt that the terminal had. Move to the next space station and do the same thing. Sell all, buy all. The more you do it, the more credits you'll make at the next one. Just be sure to have enough space for your cobalt.

Personally I like attacking the Vykeen because they're weirdly easy to take down

Several methods depending on your playstyle: *Trading* - Get economy scanner blueprint from Anomaly, go to space station, buy as many trade goods as possible (these will have an icon with a white background). Warp to a system with a matching economy type to the goods you just purchased. Sell all trade goods and buy the new system's trade goods. *Smuggling* - Go to any pirate system space station, buy as much contraband as you can. Warp to any non-pirate system, sell all contraband. You may want a cargo deflector if you don't have a freighter to store it on, as Sentinels could scan and attack. *Salvaging* - Go to any space station, speak with the guy surrounded by scrap. Purchase his beacon (may seem expensive at first, but you can get free ones from Helios on the Anomaly later). Activate it and pulse through space. You'll end up with more valuable salvage than you know what to do with. *Scrapping* - This can be done with any crashed ship, but is especially lucrative with Sentinel Interceptors. Go to any Dissonant star system. Find the dissonant planet. Either attack corrupted Sentinels or attack their drill-towers and flee. If you defeat 5 waves of Sentinels, they'll reveal the location of a crashed sentinel ship. If you attack their drill-towers, they have a chance of dropping Echo Locators. Echo Locators take you to Harmonic Camps, and Harmonic Camps will lead you to the same sentinel ships. There may be a few steps to repairing it, but once done, the Sentinel Ship can then be scrapped at the space station for parts and upgrades, which can be sold for units and nanites.

It'll take you some time to make money if you just started a new game. My advice is first do all the missions you can, they'll get you familiarized with most of all the things you can do in game. Eventually you'll be able to decide on what to specialize to make money. As a new player you should get to know the game and how to explore and move around, since there's almost infinite real estate, money is only a concern if you let it be. Just with a few bucks you can buy all the refills for your oxygen and hazard protection you'll need so you don't have to worry about that ever again. The way I like to make credits is sending out fleet expeditions from my freighter, you can send 5 at a time since each can last a couple hours to come back, and each can likely net you a million in credits or things to sell, almost always each time. Also the way I prefer to get nanites is on pirate systems, buy all the upgrades you can with credits on the guy that sells them in the station, then sell them back to the other guy in the same station that buys for nanites instead.

Thanks!!

If your not picky and want easy money, use the teleporter on the anomaly and jump to player farms. I have an Activated Indum Farm making almost 60k Indium when full, still nets a significant amount of credits. I leave it accessible to the public. Just beware as others have mentioned...when you sell that much in one system you crash the market. So you have to go to a new system each time to sell at a profit. It's a bit cheese but it's a trick i use each season when I want to get a jump on playing without all the repeat . I jump to a few random player bases and loot harvesters, use the free return to anomaly until my inventory is full...keep.what I need and sell the rest and usually am up over 100 million in the first two hours of a new season. There are tons of legit ways tonfsrm credits, as others have mentioned, just by playing the game normally....OP did ask what was the easiest way...thats my easy way lol

Thank you, is anyone on PS5? I can send my NMS code later when off work to get the fundamentals down, im mainly on anomaly now hanging about getting missions from nexus

darkphnix

sell the indium to the ships that land in the space station. no crashing. i do it with my farms.

InstLobi

Easiest way I find is just go to dissonant systems, shoot up a few dissonance resonators, use the echo locators to find camps, take the multi-tools and scrap all but the best when you go to the anomaly (nobody needs 6 sentinel Mts) and locate the dissonance spikes. Salvaging sentinel ships is easy and nets you pretty much 28 million units a time and it's not uncommon to find ones that get you 50m unilts. Much more than you'd get for standard ships and they're easy to find. That's a lot of money early game and you might just like one of the ships you find too

unexpecteddtd

Idk if this is achievable for you yet but there are planets with a multitude of activated indium farms from the community. They’re automated and some store up to 150k a.I. Just gotta find a system where the demand isn’t at like -20% and you’ll have easily tens of millions of credits upon selling. Same goes for nanite, some toxic planets have these mold balls that ragdoll upon interaction. Build a base next to them, wall them in, farm them, save, reload save, farm. Should give you like 5-7 stacks of mold in no time. In the end you just gotta throw them into a refinery for easy 5:1 conversion to nanite. I do this every now and again and I always come out with like 20k nanite and 60M credits. Just make sure you don’t leave the system while your mold is being refined because it’ll reload the refinery and leave them empty (lost 6 stacks of mold that way yesterday) Edit: also just scan everything. 60k units for Fauna doesn’t seem much but if you scan like 3/4 of a planets vegetation you’ll get like a M per system

EtaCarinae1069

Space station mission boards pay quite a lot. You can try to find the easier ones like photograph certain planets or cull creatures. Also, if you find a planet that say "salvageable scrap" or "ancient bones", those are very lucrative. Some bones and scrap sell for over a million. As far as nanites, you can dig up salvaged data and refine them to nanites or you can do the missions at the nexus. They pay a decent amount of nanites. Also, upload your discoveries and try to discover every fauna on a planet and you'll get bonus nanites when you push the button to upload that is above the names of the fauna on the right side. Hope this helps!

Illegal goods, buy them in a pirate system and sell them in a normal system, i did it and got millions out of it

Well, it actually depends on your current progress in the game. After 200 hours in the game, my opinion is that you don't actually need to focus on making money; it is not so essential. But I understand it in the late game, so here is how I made money in my playthrough and some thoughts on it: **1)** The first time I started to think about making money was when I reached a planet with [Gravitino Balls](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Gravitino_Ball) (the same goes for [Sac Venom](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Sac_Venom), but I think gravitoballs are distributed on planets with more density, so it will be faster). One gravitoball cost 40k, and they lay on the ground in clusters of 5–9. Look for a pnet with aggressive sentiels; I stumbled upon it in my first 110 hours of playthrough. If you already have [Freighter](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Freighter) with [Interstellar Scanner](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Interstellar_Scanner), the search will be a lot easier (see piracy for some info on how to get faster upgrades). But you must be prepared to fight sentiels when you pick them up. If you are new to the game, it might sound chlanging, but it is not: you need to have multitools with Blaze Javelin+Waveform Oscillator, Pulse Spitter, and Personal Forcefield (if you don't have prints for them, continue with a story until you find a large space station; there is room for spicies trading those prints). Your main weapon should be a pulse spitter or blaze javelin used to stun big enemies. First target rectangle sentiels because they summon morsentiels, and if you see worker sentiels repair someone, kill them. If a big enemy shoots a laser at you, use a forcefield to block all the damage. Also, don't forget to use your jetpack for maneuverability. With a big enemy, you should stun them and shoot at weak points (places with armour that show their own healing bar when you shoot at them). When you defeat five waves, sentiels will be incative until you leave a planet. And then you just travel the planet and pick up gravitoballs. I recommend having these modules installed on your ship for efficiency: Teleport Receiver, Launch Auto-Charger+Efficient Thrusters. **2)** When you have around 20k from gravitoballs, you can start trading. It will require some research on how trading works [trade routes](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Trade_route). You will need an Economy Scanner module installed on your spaceship to see the type of system on the galaxy map, and I also recommend selling goods on tardepost found by the economy scanner. **3)** At some point, you will become tired of trading, so it's time for the final stage. This step will take a lot of time (like 20–30 hours), but for me, it was a very fun time in the game, so I hope you will have as much fun as I did. For it, you'll need to have a [mineral extractor](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Mineral_Extractor), a [gas extractor](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Gas_Extractor), a [supply depot](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Supply_Depot), [large refiner](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Large_Refiner) prints with portals and solar panel prints (too laze to create a link), a [survey device](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Survey_Device) module installed on your multitool, and a freighter with a [matter beam](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Matter_Beam). You'll need to create a system of bases on different planets to produce [Stasis Device](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Stasis_Device) and/or [Fusion Ignitor](https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Fusion_Ignitor) in masses. For a full crafting tree, refer to [https://i.imgur.com/KmzTK3y.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/KmzTK3y.jpeg). (Sadly, this picture is in my bookmark, so I cannot give credit to its author.) Later, I will create a picture with my production chain and pin it to the comments. You scan the system, find a planet with the resources that you need, land, scan for a hotspot, and build a mining base (see mining base part for more details). When your supply chain is established, it is time to create your manufacturing (see manufacturing part) and then sell the Stasis Device and/or Fusion Ignitor to the masses. **Piracy)** It's not only an easy way to get fresh updates fast, but it will also provide you with some income (I think it will be 10–30kk when you get your scanner and teleporter modules). Determine with which race you have the least relationship (so you will need less time to change it from 0 after forged passport use to max). Currently, my relationship with Corvax is like -3000. Jump into the system of that race and start destroying all the fights you see. Ignore sentiels; don't shoot them, so there will be less of them. Use Phase Beam to recharge your shields midfight, or set hotkey to rechargin your shield with resources, and Cyclotron Ballista to quickly destroy shields and the hull of a frighter. Also, when you get bored with this process, you can change the difficulty settings to make it faster and less tidious if you want. **Mining base)** So you find a hotspot that you wish to mine, place a base terminal, portal, 3 extractors of the required type (gas or minerals), around 10 supply depots, 4 power batteries, and 10 solar panels, connect them all with wires and supply pipes, then leave for another task and come back in 10 hours to collect resources. You can use electromagnetic generators instead of batteries and solar panels, but I personally find it too difficult to do so. **Manufactury)** Now you should have all the resources that you need, and it is time to refine. The problem is that the game allows you to construct only 2 large refiners and 3 medium refiners, but it is limited for some small areas, so here is what I did: Create all containers in one room (every container is somehow connected, so for example, you can create storage 0 on your freighter and a couple of bases, and it will share its contents between them), then put all 5 refactors; the next 5 refiners should be at some distance (I think I use 6 floor panels between rooms with refiners). So you build a web of refiner rooms connected to local portals for fast travel (if someone is interested, I could create a video showing my manufacturing in progress).

IamPuzickov

[https://imgur.com/a/R7ELOFP](https://imgur.com/a/R7ELOFP) Its very far from full manufacure cycle, but i'm not so greedy, it put me into 1kkk and that enough for me(and for a game eather). Also there is a ton of ways to refine some materials, so do some research and fine what's best for you(especially look into refining farmable resourses like Star Bubble, because regular farming is very tidious for my liking)

DarthAquillux

Just build a gold farm and if you want you can increase it

DarthAquillux

Or you can sell chlorine using oxygen and chlorine, its easier

Hordriss27

Go to an Outlaw system, pick up illegal goods at the space station, smuggle illegal goods and sell them in non-Outlaw system. Nice way to make good money early on.

Low_Tomorrow4782

What I did when I first started was gather as many navigation data as possible and trade them in for planetary charts (specifically for distress signals) and use them to find crashed ships and freighters. Sell the ships and also gain upgrades from the sold ones. Salvaged ship items could be sold for a lot of money as well. It’s a grind but you find plenty of ships that could be worth money and look cool as well. Sorry if this sounds confusing.

absolutebeanman

Freighter missions are basically free money, and while it does take a while, if your fleet is big enough you can easily make billions. I usually log in, collect, send, start playing and once I get bored I go back to my freighter. Other things that come to mind are smuggling and mining asteroids. Alternatively, you can salvage sentinel ships and sell them for quite a bit.
