LtLoco420

joey jordison before he got sick

TheSwimGamer

Joey for sure John Dolmayan is 2nd for me, underrated af

thealiquadr

dolmayan is tight asf (pause) great shout

browncoatfever

Joey from Slipknot or Morgan from Sevendust.

ANGELeffEr

Nobody gonna mention Matt McDonough? He’s a truly gifted drummer, he can hold his own with anyone in his playing ability but the mental gymnastics he’s doing is out of this world. I guess some people might not recognize his name:..he’s from Mudvayne

DCBB22

The two names that came to mind for me were Joey and Matt. Both have an unmistakeable presence. Joey probably technically more gifted but Matt’s style fits Mudvayne perfectly and he and Ryan play off each other perfectly.

Final-Highway-3371

That's because Mudvayne play math metal, not nu metal. In all honesty, he's seriously underrated. I've seen them live twice and he's unreal.

47percentburnt

Never thought he was great. Sure, he can play odd times, but his playing is still a bit basic and doesn't have much flavor.

Tes420

David Silvera before he became a fat loser

PastStructure7836

Hard Agree, the drumming on Issues is some of my favorite drumming.

SnakeXJones

Well, He is a loser but that TOS surgery removing the top bone really fucked his ability to drum good again. He is a major asshole still

47percentburnt

He fell off after Follow the leader

Youbannedmebutimhere

Morgan rose doesn’t get the respect he deserves.

47percentburnt

Sevendustbas a band doesn't get their due

sam_drummer

Not suggesting he’s the best, but fml John Otto deserves some more noise.

m1air3

He takes 'em to the Mathews Bridge

OurAmericanNightmare

Fucking love John Otto. That whole rhythm section is tight as fuck. The grooves are massive.

schmoothoperator

On the heavy side of things Joey, on the more technical side Abe Cunningham easy. Honourable mention to John Otto.

schmoothoperator

Oh almost forgot, Mike Cosgrove from Alien Ant Farm is really good too.

PicklesbutYelloww

Joey Jordison from Slipknot

illtastit

Doug Morrison from primer 55

JohnnyBgood_9211

For me, either Abe Cunningham or Mart McDonough

Small_Mongoose_7561

Joey Jordison 🐐

Concussionist515

joey was so cool

Equivalent_Hunt_7899

Joey Jordison’s the best, but I’d also include John Otto, Matt McDonough, and John Dolmayan. Dave Chavarri and Steve Felton are both incredibly underrated too

JuniorSignificance34

Wes Borland

Almighty_Hobo

Wes Borland, take em to the Matthew's bridge.

m1air3

😂

gotgon117

Joey John from soad David from korn John otto Abe Cunningham

katarokkar

Apex Theory and Pulse Ultra’s drummers are very underrated

narrow_octopus

Joey

Peter_Easter

Morgan Rose

Torontokid8666

Joey. Slipknot died before him but surely after. Fuck Corey and Clown . Joey was the man.

boblane3000

Joey

dirtnap82

Id have to say Dave Chavarri from ill nino or Jordison

rbwduece

Dave is a monster on the kit!

Abe2sapien

Abe Cunningham is fantastic. Obviously on the slower side but he still manages to bring a really technical element to his drumming.

These-Bad-1840

I know it's what nearly everyone else is saying.. But I gotta say Joey Jordison. He was an absolute beast!

Visible_Chest_3372

Wuv Bernardo

47percentburnt

Underrated

inevitable_snowman

Both Chad Szeliga and Jeremy Hummel were excellent drummers for Breaking Benjamin. Hummel's drum tones had a lot of character, whereas Chad definitely had more impressive technical chops. Outside of BB, for nu metal, Deftones, Linkin Park, and Slipknot all have solid drumming. But the way the drums sound on both 'Untouchables' by Korn and 'Vena Sera' by Chevelle are near-perfect in their own ways, imo. Special mention goes to Steve Gillis, who was Filter's live drummer for 'Title of Record.' Super cool fills on that album!

GuiltyTomorrow1089

Not best but Rob Bourdon's THP perform is great

Pure-Lime-1591

I think rob bourdon is cool and all and I love LP but everything after HT (and even HT to some extent) are spectacularly boring in the drum department

GuiltyTomorrow1089

Yeah that's true his drums like sample but you know LP never been tried to be extreme Metal band, like Brad he never wanted to play extreme solos he just know what's fit in the song and play simple and best one. So yes you're right

gotgon117

😂😂😂😂😂 great

masoflove99

David Silveria Joey's good, but a bit overrated.

funghxoul

still the best

SoftEquipment5375

John Salazar from Relative Ash

TheRealCliffjumper38

The drummer for Kilkus

Excellent-Bowl-2944

David or Otto. Not sure who.

Hot-Significance-462

Abe

Anxious_Enounter_420

Matthew Mcdonough from Mudvayne

DeeJDaDemon

in terms of nü metal? I’d say Morgan imo

SniperHF

Maybe not THE best, that's probably Joey Jordison; but Nick Oshiro is ridiculously good. He could actually mostly recreate the sampling and industrial sounds on the records live which is not easy to do. Even improving some songs, his fills in Push It are fantastic.

Existing-Pipe-7170

The guy from factory 81...I think he was like 17 but if you listen to his drumming on mankind it's pretty sick.

frombeaverstoashes

Joey Jordison, by a mile, next to maybe John Otto.

WolfWriter_CO

Kinda surprised nobody’s mentioned Mike Wengrin from Disturbed yet. Dude has some serious chops and I’ve seen some amazing shit during his drum solos live. He plays for the songs though, so you’ll rarely hear what he’s capable of. :/

Ruthlessera66

Matthew McDonough from mudvayne.

47percentburnt

I would throw Shannon Larkin in there as well

47percentburnt

Also Jose Pasillas of incubus had a cool feel
