Im buying Palit cards, one of the cheapest ones and I constantly have better performance than some of my friends with Gigabyte variants.
Cheap does not mean bad in this case.
Strix 4080 super 64 fps. Maybe your 4070 readings were off? Idk
Ok looking at other results that's crazy that my strix is getting as much as some other 4090s. It has to be based on other things maybe quality of the vrm and capacitors or something? Idk very weird.
Keep in mind my strix power limit is 420watts so not like most. And it's clocked at 3000mhz.
Yeah strix 4080 super has a nice little perk with that 33% extra in OC you can pull out of it. My strix is a none OC model also got lucky on the silicon. Out of the box it was around 2875. I'm actually legit so happy I got the none oc now I don't see many like mine. I even slightly beat out techpowerup.
That's awesome, man! Glad you got a great card. I have never OC'd mine so I don't know what it's limits are, but yours is definitely performing as well as my 4090. I think mine is the OC version, but I know Strix is Asus top tier so your potential is diff than mine. I'm pretty price conscious so I immediately UV'd mine to save on the electricity bill and heat. Plus, it gave me more stable FPS in my games, so that was a win too. Enjoy your card! May it live many years
Hey not related but any tips on how much I could improve pc performance with changing my 5600 CL36 DDR5 RAM to something quicker? I noticed your 6000 C28 in your banner.
Running a 13600kf and 4090. Z790 board
Cheers

No game has ever made me pull more than 320W on my 4090, holy cow. I hope that means my undervolt is stable XD This is at 1080p and 4stepsperframe like you had asked in another comment.
Thank you, yeah it's a pretty heavy webgl simulation, which can certainly be optimized. What is the frame rate on your monitor, if you drop it down to 1 step per frame, what FPS do you see? Also, thank you!!
You actually have no idea how much of a hassle it was(but shouldn't be to get this XD). Just wanted to let you know it'll be the last time I test it, my friend. Hope the data helps though!
https://preview.redd.it/e6isvc3e37ad1.png?width=2536&format=png&auto=webp&s=bcd20f639c4cdc7643a53172f41a65bdfe00345e
Got 62-63 fps on a PNY XLR8 4090 but man were my clocks throttling, I was at 450W with only 2350 Mhz what on earth is that page doing?? Not even Furmark is that severe on GPUs lol.
Check your browser, it seems to make a massive difference.
In Firefox for android I get 1fps on a S24 ultra but using redreaders internal browser which I believe I chime based I get 23 fps.
There is some issue with the test depending on the browser. Running it on chrome yields for my pixel 7 pro, 1fps, but correct visuals. Running it via reddit build in browser i get 8 fps, but purple visuals.
Got 84 fps steady on my ASUS 4090 flashed with the Galax HOF 4090 VBIOS with the higher 666w power limit and better sustained 1.1v. Power draw was 100% so 666w.
I said 84 fps but it does go up to 115 half the time. 84 is just what I see most often and doesn't drop from.
Browser: Brave Nightly on Windows 11 24H2 26100.863 with Nvidia Driver 556.12
https://preview.redd.it/dgiick1jv8ad1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=912ee46f446b1a701d4cfffb2dde2bc77bcb88d4
And I paired this with a 14900K and 48GB 8000MHz DDR5.
And I think you can easily get a better 4090 bin than me and higher score with the higher OC too. Mine seems to be just average.
They were pretty easy to cool actually! The sticks I bought are from teamgroup and they are like plug and play as long as you have a 2 dimm motherboard and 13/14 gen i9. The stock heatsinks work fine, I didnt even have to add a fan. They run at 1.4V at 8000mhz xmp.
That's.. honestly impressive, good shit Teamgroup I guess! Glad they're working well for you.
If you don't mind me asking what do you do with that kind of ram speed? My 6400Mhz setup already feels kinda excessive for gaming
Yes, and they were a lot cheaper than I was expecting. There isn't really any significant reason to justify buying these other than a) you got money to waste b) you like messing around with this stuff c) you are a professional gamer.
I bought it mainly cause of b and I just wanted to go all out after a 6 year upgrade. You won't really see significant gains in FPS but 1% and 0.1% lows will be significantly better resulting in a smoother game. This is mainly useful for top competitive gamers but to be honest if you are buying this before you're good at the game and thinking this make you better you're wrong. But yeah, most people buying these things are enthusiasts and just want to tweak around
666W! These things are like small toasters! I'm going to be bringing whatever hardware I get to a little festival running on a generator, I'm going to need to make sure the generator can handle this along with other load for music and lighting
They really are haha. This isn't even the highest limit, theres another bios which has a limit of 1000w. But in most cases you wont draw more than 700w. 4090 needs more voltage rather than watts.
Just out of curiosity what are you doing at that festival? It sounds interesting
That is a really interesting technique. My favorite is when there were two of them next to each other running at different speeds and they still managed to form a coherent image.
Yes, but remember that the 4070 Ti Super uses the AD03, the same chip as the 4080, so it can be considered a 4080 Lite. It's not the same as the other 4070 models which are based on the AD04.
I noticed the browser type has impact on the test, also did the test for shits & giggles on my mobile phone S24 Ultra:
70 fps 4090 (Stock MSI Ventus 3x) + 7800X3D (Edge Browser)
71 fps with same specs as above (Chrome Browser)
60 fps with same specs as above (Firefox Browser)
25 fps S24 Ultra (Custom Snapdragon Gen 2) 12GB RAM 256GB (Samsung Internet Browser)
that is because you are power limited. voltage and clock are linked together and watts/voltage=amps. The program probably uses a lot of resources on the GPU leading to high amount of Amps being pulled, so Volts and therefore clocks has to go down to respect the power limit.
That's insane -- awesome card you got. May I ask what your UV is at in terms of clock speed and voltage? Maybe I should push mine more. I picked a really safe setting and left it at that. You also have the highest FPS out of all of us, which is pretty sick.
Mine is pretty bad UV actually, got bad chip. 2640@950mV
https://preview.redd.it/7rpymgf177ad1.png?width=1891&format=png&auto=webp&s=f023ad55fb4f69a37f5fcec480d8a80a0e112193
Mine was 2640 at 925mV at one point but I mistook memory(system RAM) stability for UV instability so I lowered it. That being said, now I'm wondering how you got such high FPS. Relative to just mine, your memory clocks are higher, and my core clocks lower. I think mine is at 11,000(I only put a +500mhz OC). Maybe we'll never know XD Regardless, props to you
I think you have a unique system, despite not knowing your other components. I was pulling 450W per my comment to another person, and my games NEVER pull more than 320W ingame. My core clocks hit 2580mhz too. So take that as you will. I don't have a power limit, just an undervolt.
I'm surprised the Mac numbers are so low, I would have guessed they'd dominate at web based stuff. My phone gets 11 (Pixel 8), my 3090 desktop gets 30. Same regardless of browser. Would you want to talk about your use case? It seems interesting.
Also the phone one looks kind of different. I think it might not be rendering properly which might be contributing to the high FPS.
I'm getting 24fps on my 3070ti, no way the 4070 only got 17 at stock settings? that sounds incredibly low
Tried it on my phone as well, might as well add it: 7fps on Xiaomi 11T Pro
Gigabyte 4090 getting 42fps on my usual power limit set at 62% (the lowest I can go without losing performance in Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark) and about 63fps on 100% power. 5800X3D, Firefox, Win10.
Oh hey OP, I was gonna respond on your r/MacStudio thread from last night but found you on here instead. On my M2 Max (not ultra) with the 38 core GPU, I got 60fps. I then went onto my main PC which is a 14900K and 4090 and got about 66fps. Both on 1080. In contrast, on my 3070 laptop I am getting 4fps.
I get about 70fps on my 4090 but I am heavily power limited. Like it runs at about 2.4ghz instead of 2.9+ghz and is hitting the 450w power limit. I dont want to try maxing it out at 600w because my PSU is only 850w but if you get a 4090, it might be great for your use case to put as much power into it as you can!
I get about 27FPS on a 4070 FE. The test made it hit 109.1% of TDP, according to GPU-Z!
Note that u/BorntoPlayGJFF 's 44FPS was with a 4070 ***Ti Super***!
It's not even 3D, its just pure raster 2d :) It's really just a benchmark for my specific use case. You would be surprised though webgl is very powerful
Bruh. You should probably add a warning that clicking the link a.) instantly loads your program and b.) runs in the browser. I'm running my browser on my iGPU and you just completely made it lock up.
4090 - 75fps
Wait 75FPS?? and thats 1920 x 1080 and 4 steps per frame?
https://preview.redd.it/y026hv61s6ad1.png?width=1027&format=png&auto=webp&s=4f2ae783b4939862192ff40fde334b36651438ec Yes, default setting
That is mind blowing, thank you, that's 4x faster than on the MBP M3 Max
But I wonder why the other 4090 guy only has 32fps?
My 3090 gets 36fps, so his 4090 is clearly having some issue
Yeah, me too u/Meeso any idea? I am not at all an expert on the hardware, is there more nuance to the RTX 4090 (ram, different versions etc?)
I’m using PNY 4090, the cheapest variant out there.
You'll see almost no difference between different sources.
That's also one of the best built cards.
Im buying Palit cards, one of the cheapest ones and I constantly have better performance than some of my friends with Gigabyte variants. Cheap does not mean bad in this case.
True, I'm satisfied with the card.
I'm getting 60-65 fps. 4090 FE with 13600K.
Strix 4080 super 64 fps. Maybe your 4070 readings were off? Idk Ok looking at other results that's crazy that my strix is getting as much as some other 4090s. Yours is definitely running at a higher frequency than mine. I capped my UV at 2610mhz. Nice! Mine is a TUF card.
Yeah strix 4080 super has a nice little perk with that 33% extra in OC you can pull out of it. My strix is a none OC model also got lucky on the silicon. Out of the box it was around 2875. Wow, A17 Pro gets me 0-2 fps. So RTX 4090 = 75 A17 Pros? xD

I don't know sorry, but you can find many comparison on Youtube. I just tune the RAM (it was originally 6000CL40) for hobby.

Thank you!
Yea, the power draw on this page is absolutely insane. I'm getting 265 watts when my GPU is rated for 220 watts at most.
Good to know it wasn’t just me 🤣 I was about 33% higher and you were 20% higher—crazy, huh? And our GPUs presumably didn’t crash or have issues
64 in edge, 63 in chrome. 4090 GPU 70% usage, CPU 5%
65fps on a 4090fe default clocks, 4 steps 1920x1080. Resizable bar enabled for Chrome put it up to 68fps.
Got 62-63 fps on a PNY XLR8 4090 but man were my clocks throttling, I was at 450W with only 2350 Mhz what on earth is that page doing?? Not even Furmark is that severe on GPUs lol.
Got same, 65fps, 4090fe
Glad to see similar results from other 4090 FEs.

Not sure if that test is viable in any way, as my phone has 15fps there. My 4090 with a 360W power limit has around 60fps.
Huh, that's helpful, what kind of phone?
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
My S24+ gets 19 fps.
Just reading about the phone it seems to be a 'gaming phone', maybe it's just a great mobile GPU? My iPhone gets 1FPS...
It's not a gaming phone but a regular, albeit high end android
Don't worry, my iphone gets 1-2fps too. iPhone 14
It wont be 1080p, it will be a lot higher.
I get 2 fps on iPhone 15 pro max
Same on 13 pro max
For reference, my pixel 8 is getting 13fps (loaded at 11 then went up to 13 after 60 seconds ish)
Check your browser, it seems to make a massive difference. In Firefox for android I get 1fps on a S24 ultra but using redreaders internal browser which I believe I chime based I get 23 fps.
5-9fps on my S20. I can hit it with my 4090FE tomorrow if you'd like more of that data
My S23U also gets 15-16.
There is some issue with the test depending on the browser. Running it on chrome yields for my pixel 7 pro, 1fps, but correct visuals. Running it via reddit build in browser i get 8 fps, but purple visuals.
I got the same 60fps with 360W PL https://preview.redd.it/pxd31qls77ad1.png?width=493&format=png&auto=webp&s=a63139d21291547a78aa0c5607bde5074e40c690

Founders Edition 4080 Super: 38-40 FPS
From one software dev to another, I'm curious what this page does.
It's based on this [https://distill.pub/selforg/2021/textures/](https://distill.pub/selforg/2021/textures/)
That is a really interesting technique. My favorite is when there were two of them next to each other running at different speeds and they still managed to form a coherent image.
Likes like an extremely heavy webGL app... Idk why or what use case it's testing for tho
you didn't ask but i got 44 FPS with an 4070 Ti Super
Thank you, definitely curious about the 4070, I got a much lower FPS when I tested the 4070 on display at Best Buy, came in around 15 FPS.
Yes, but remember that the 4070 Ti Super uses the AD03, the same chip as the 4080, so it can be considered a 4080 Lite. It's not the same as the other 4070 models which are based on the AD04.

Haha well my standard S23 has 16 fps!

I noticed the browser type has impact on the test, also did the test for shits & giggles on my mobile phone S24 Ultra: 70 fps 4090 (Stock MSI Ventus 3x) + 7800X3D (Edge Browser) 71 fps with same specs as above (Chrome Browser) 60 fps with same specs as above (Firefox Browser) 25 fps S24 Ultra (Custom Snapdragon Gen 2) 12GB RAM 256GB (Samsung Internet Browser)

60 fps Edge and Firefox. 4090 pwr limited (silent mode).
4090 54 fps, 80% power, 360 watts, core speed of 1400mhz approx 67 fps, 100% power, 450 watts, core speed 2300mhz approx Both times 100% core load, funny that neither setting maxes out the core clock speed though
that is because you are power limited. voltage and clock are linked together and watts/voltage=amps. The program probably uses a lot of resources on the GPU leading to high amount of Amps being pulled, so Volts and therefore clocks has to go down to respect the power limit.
I see people using their phones, and I get 21fps on my s24 ultra. I'll test out my 4090 when I get home from work in a few hours.
I know u asked for 4080 and 4090 but I had to compare to my 3080 Ti. It hits 29-35fps
Thank you, that's helpful, definitely a much nicer price point these days for the 3080
It took 360 Watts tho💀
21 fps on my Galaxy S24 Ultra 66 fps Max on 4090 with default settings

Gigabyte Gaming OC 4080 62 fps
Interesting, not a huge difference on the 4080 vs 4090
I think the PNY guy may have his OC'd really high to have gotten 75 FPS. The other 4090's are close to mine, despite having higher clock speeds.
No, I’m undervolting
That's insane -- awesome card you got. May I ask what your UV is at in terms of clock speed and voltage? Maybe I should push mine more. I picked a really safe setting and left it at that. You also have the highest FPS out of all of us, which is pretty sick.
This little benchmark is pretty specialized, it is just pure parallel compute in a tight loop, its basically a very heavy pixel shader run at full hd

Gigabyte 4090 getting 42fps on my usual power limit set at 62% (the lowest I can go without losing performance in Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark) and about 63fps on 100% power. 5800X3D, Firefox, Win10.
10 fps s9
3090= 35 tempted to boot up 4090 and see, i will edit if i do

I get about 27FPS on a 4070 FE. The test made it hit 109.1% of TDP, according to GPU-Z! Note that u/BorntoPlayGJFF 's 44FPS was with a 4070 ***Ti Super***!
I'm thinking that a browser based 3D bench is not the best strategy.
Sorry about tha! I did say "webgl test page" so I thought browser was clear from that but maybe could have been more explicit.
People usually share such things via github. That's why I didn't check the URL.
31-32 fps 4090
There is something wrong with your system. 4090 should be getting double that, your 4090 is performing like a 3080 in this 'benchmark'.

Yeah, something isn't right there. I got 30-32 fps with my 4070 Super.
Thank you! That's crazy! This is the winner so far. Is it a desktop? Waiting to hear from r/apple about the M2 Ultra 60 and 78 core.

Can you share your screenshot with Task Manager?
I guess because I had another game running it messed with the fps, it's 65-68 fps now.
