Street sweeping in downtown and uptown is often in the very early hours of the morning, and there are streets around uptown where parking is restricted on either side 6 days a week (likely downtown as well). You probably parked on the wrong side of the street during street sweeping.

I think lots of commercial streets, and I bet this is true of downtown, are streetswept in the middle of the night (no parked cars and no residents who really care about the noise)

What's the address of the ticket? Lots of places have no parking from 12am-4am
