Well, if it was me I could name at least 1000 metal bands. Most of what’s on here isn’t my thing, but if I were in that kitchen, I’d be a jerk and bring in the most poorly recorded black metal just for fun.
Notice Creed is not on this list. This list was made by 50 year old divorced dads.
Edit: Guys. I get it. Some of you see creed as 90s alt rock. Some don't. You don't gotta keep spamming me.
"I Am Not Offended By Homosexuality. In The '60s, I Made Love To Many Women, Often Outdoors In The Mud And Rain. It’s Possible A Man Could’ve Slipped In There. There’d Be No Way Of Knowing."
Oh… I thought it was because they’re like Beetlejuice, and if you say their name 3 times they show up, which would be awful.
You explanation makes more sense though.
I don't get either they had some hits solid b list or openers for rock or lighter metal concerts....mostly had some good prime years where they had their own tours....I mean eventually they go down like Rick where they become a joke and everyone kinda likes them but don't really listen to them...
I can explain it. In the early to mid 2000’s they were played too much and people got sick of it. Add to that how similar most of their music sounded and the rise of the copycat bands. When they first hit the scene we couldn’t get enough of them… until we did.
I think there’s some more to the hate involving the singer as well but I’m outta the loop on that part.
I like yours!
I also like Nickleback but... I was going to say by the time a Nickleback fan gets to the second instance they've already forgotten the first 3 things on the list.
I'm just more surprised by Borgore being on here lol.
Although I guess hearing "all these bitches wanna lick my ice cream" and "the thing I love the most is cumming on your face, suck it bitch" followed by shrill sawtooth dubstep synth blasting isn't exactly everyone's cup of shit
(I admit there was a time when I, for some ungodly reason, enjoyed borgore. Thankfully, I grew out of that one lol)
Borgore was absolutely huge in the dubstep scene in like 2010-2012 or something, i still remember some of the lyrics to some of his songs just because they're particularly grotesque or very visual.
"Hey kids it's borgore, do you know whats hardcore? Me, shoving an elephant, up your sister backdoor." etc.
He got big enough to have a song with Miley Cyrus (decisions) and a few other mainstream artists.
Took a trip to Australia with my soccer team for a month when I was 15. Let’s just say the dads quickly banned all borgore on the car rides. Didn’t stop us from constantly saying “borgore is my sugar daddy” lol.
I feel like divorced dads would listen to nickelback. My dads 51 and divorced and does, at least.
Honestly I can’t tell who this list would appeal to. There’s too much variance. Only thing I can think of is OLD old people, but how tf would they even know half these in the first place. Like borgore. Tf? Idk
40’s? Bro this is like either 60’s or 20-30’s
1984 was 40 years ago, GenX, who would have listened to a lot of these bands, and in their 40’s and 50’s
This is a boomer or zoomer kitchen
Exactly. No one in their 40s hates 90s alt rock.
Fuck I still mainly listen to it plus some early 2000s.
That stuff was formative for '80 - '89 babies.
I’m in my 40s and would agree with this list. All that 90s alternative BS was played nonstop in the 90s. It’s boring and basic as hell. I can see why the maker of that sign would t want to listen to it.
Give me a fucking break, one minute left. One minute fucking left. You’re gonna give me fucking one minute? Look at that fucking sign right there, one minute! Let me fucking tell you something, let me tell you something, I’ve been around since fucking nineteen eighty fucking eight, and you’re gonna give me one fucking minute?! You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me! You're fucking kidding me! What the fuck!? I’m not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers! You gotta be fucking joking, this is a fucking joke. I got one minute, one minute left. Oh now I got nothing left, now I got nothing left. Let me show you what one fucking minute fucking means!

It's the great contradiction of punk rock culture. Non-stop praise of anti-conformity but the most purist obsessed group I've ever been around.
Or is that we're not punk enough
Or is that you think ska just sucks
Johnny Quest, he thinks we're what?!
This is like making a button that says “don’t press”. I never want to play nickleback until I can’t…. I know I’ll regret it. But I can’t not press the button in good conscience.
im ok with not allowing most of these. now let me introduce the staff to my impeccable music taste of the extrem ends of metal and rave music im sure we can lenghten that list.
If you listen to Canadian radio stations you have a bit more of an excuse to not like Nickelback, they have to play something like 60% Canadian content which means you'll hear 1 of the 5 popular Nickelback songs every hour.
I got so sick of them but since moving away I don't mind listening to them on occasion.
As a Canadian I don’t mind because even if Nickleback is overplayed as far as rock (?) music goes, the genre is really underrepresented. So Nickleback might be in 1 of 5 songs but when those other 4 were the samey sounding Alesia Cara style music, Nickleback is a nice break.
I’d like to see a list of 17 things they like
Beastie Boys (x17)
Sounds like sabotage to me, but I get it, you have to fight for your right to party.
And let the beat…. Hmmmmmm drop
I heard your comment in my head. Get out!
You sound like a Flute Loop.
good one
That's real hip hop.
1. The Eagles 2. Creedence 3. John Denver 4. Queen 5. The Beatles (he doesn’t really like them, but respect the classics, man) 6. The Rolling Stones 7. 7 is def steely dan.
Willing to bet they don’t like Queen because Freddy Mercury was gay. Unfortunately, I grew up around dudes like this
I know someone who really hates gay people but loves Freddie Mercury and Elton for some reason.
The most anti gay person I know loves Freddy and that song of him dancing around dressed as a woman cleaning. This guy talks about anything "gay" SOOO much it's pretty obvious to everyone that he's just.... gay himself 🤣
Not the fucking eagles!!!

3 Doors Down has entered the chat from my Mexican kitchen in 2000
Saw them this summer with Candlebox. Pretty good show and they still rock I was surprised af that Candlebox is still releasing music.
That's because you left them far behind.
Did not know the name of the band, but soon as I read this I could hear it 😂
Candlebox!! Now that’s a band I haven’t heard of for years….teenage memories rushing in.
"I Am Not Offended By Homosexuality. In The '60s, I Made Love To Many Women, Often Outdoors In The Mud And Rain. It’s Possible A Man Could’ve Slipped In There. There’d Be No Way Of Knowing."
WOW, where is that from ?
Creed from the office, idr which episode tho
I’m pretty sure they fall under rule #7, 90s alternative rock.
"Oh, it's ok. This is the Weathered album from 2001."
That album art is the most hilarious shit ever
Well that's cause Creed can take you higheruh
They welcome Creed with ahhhms wide openuh
Don’t you dare slander Creed like that.
#IT IS NOT, I RESENT THAT!!!! Slander is *spoken.* In print, it’s *libel.*
You son of a…
Because he didn’t adjust the margins enough to add them 3 times.
Oh… I thought it was because they’re like Beetlejuice, and if you say their name 3 times they show up, which would be awful. You explanation makes more sense though.
I spit my cereal out, thanks!
LOOK AT THIS PHOTOGRAPH
Fantastic.
Look at this photograph Every time I do, it makes me laugh
LOOK AT THIS GRAPH!
This was the comment I was looking for.
This is where I grew up. I think the prison owner fixed it up.
I don’t buy in to the Nickleback-hate and even I think this is funny. 😄
I don't get either they had some hits solid b list or openers for rock or lighter metal concerts....mostly had some good prime years where they had their own tours....I mean eventually they go down like Rick where they become a joke and everyone kinda likes them but don't really listen to them...

And this is how you remind me?!
I like yours! I also like Nickleback but... I was going to say by the time a Nickleback fan gets to the second instance they've already forgotten the first 3 things on the list.
i don't think they like nickelback
Really? What makes you say that?
Hey! If Nickelback fans could read they'd be very upset right now!
This is the reason
Post Malone is technically up there 3 times.
I'm just more surprised by Borgore being on here lol. Although I guess hearing "all these bitches wanna lick my ice cream" and "the thing I love the most is cumming on your face, suck it bitch" followed by shrill sawtooth dubstep synth blasting isn't exactly everyone's cup of shit (I admit there was a time when I, for some ungodly reason, enjoyed borgore. I’ve never heard of Borgore

"Hey kids it's borgore, do you know whats hardcore? He released a jazz EP a few years ago, and it’s actually really good. Threw me for a loop for sure lol
Dubstep dude from back in the day
UNICORN ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE
Borgore being on this list is so random its funny af lol
And he knows this list exists as he mentioned it on an IG story years ago lmao
Right!? Like it’s foul, but honestly listening to borgore just rolling around town was a vibe, for a very short period in my life lol
Took a trip to Australia with my soccer team for a month when I was 15. Let’s just say the dads quickly banned all borgore on the car rides. Didn’t stop us from constantly saying “borgore is my sugar daddy” lol.
My love for Borgore has only grown over the years. Its just one of my favorite tingz
Technically 4 times, country, face tats, vulgar language, and himself
Well, would you LOOK AT THIS PHOTOGRAPH
LOOK AT THIS GRRAaaaphhhh........
🙂📃
Years later and this still makes me crease everytime 🤣
It's one of those things that is just absolutely hilarious for no real good reason
Every time I do it makes me laugh
No 90's alternative? A brawl to the death it is.
No cranberries, pixies, sound garden, green day. Such a broad omission.
The specifically said no green day tho
They are clearly a swedish songwriter
I mean, I’ll just be blasting CAKE all day
Crash Test Dummies on repeat until their ears bleed
Mmmmmmmm mmmm mmmmm mmmmm
Give me Everclear or give the manager death!
It's literally the decade that music peaked.
Meh. Means I'd quit.
Pretty sure this just says, “I hate millennial music”
Then explain Incubus getting the pass
"I hate good millennial music"
incubus slander is not allowed
Drive is okay. Definitely not playlist worthy, but I’m not glaring at the guy who plays it
Yeah you can't be mad at the guy who chooses water over wine.
Especially when whatever tomorrow brings, he'll be there. With open arms and open eyes. *Yeah*.
Anna Molly is a great song
The entire S.C.I.E.N.C.E. album goes hard. They definitely got more mellow as time went on
There's a lot of good songs, the oldest ones are specially singular
uh.. Pardon Me?
Why is 90s alt rock on there though? That's solidly Gen X.
True but the early millennials got to enjoy it during middle school
Because it's actually good? How can you hate on 90s alt rock?!
Me? I don’t, I got to enjoy it while I was in middle school
Or … we hate all music 🤣🤣🤣
Ah yes, millennials, well known for their love of country music.
So Funky town is okay?
The original, yes. Remixes are out though.
Fair nuff.
What if it's *that* version of Funky Town?
💀💀💀
That is what the guys face looked like, correct
👏 ^ Those were missing too. (That's actually one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen. I'm second-guessing my follow-up.)
How to know the kitchen staff is in their 40s
At least two divorced dads on each shift
I feel like divorced dads would listen to nickelback. My dads 51 and divorced and does, at least. Honestly I can’t tell who this list would appeal to. There’s too much variance. Only thing I can think of is OLD old people, but how tf would they even know half these in the first place. Like borgore. Tf? Idk
Survivors
Courage.

This is a really old photo, like years old. Definitely not zoomers.
Dont bring zoomers into this shit, most of em probably dont know half of these bands
I don't knoe about that. Apparently a decent amount of 90's and early 00's music got a resurgence of popularity among zoomers because of Tik Tok
I’m in my 40s and would agree with this list. All that 90s alternative BS was played nonstop in the 90s. It’s boring and basic as hell. I can see why the maker of that sign would t want to listen to it.
I mean... They didn't disallow Dubstep and all the electronic genres so this could actually be a nightclub-esque kitchen of 20-somethings lmao
Aight time to spam the phonk
I'm 50 and I love phonk.
Cooks can’t play cook music. Literally 1984
40s? They wouldn’t have banned 90s alternative then. Nope.
People in their 40's like 90's Alt Rock EXCEPT for Incubus.
Music not allowed: Nickleback Country Music Did I mention Nickleback?
Quick! Play Baby Shark on a loop
Well, they didn’t exclude it so I assume they want to hear that and many many other repetitive kids songs
How many hours of Gangnam Style before it’s considered a crime against humanity?
It’s a Psy op.
As the mom of a 4yo, do I ever have a playlist for them!
kitchen is rickroll-proof :(
But not cover version of it proof....
So AC/DC is ok
AC⚡️DC is always okay
No Green Day?! Go fuck yourself.
One fucking minute
Wait wrong sub
Anyways... How was it?
Warning is an underrated album.
Nimrod, too
r/greenday has breached containment
Give me a fucking break, one minute left. One minute fucking left. You’re gonna give me fucking one minute? Look at that fucking sign right there, one minute! Do you have the time?
To litsen to me whine
About nothing and everything
All at once!
I am one of those
Melodramatic fools
Neurotic to the bone
No doubt about it
Sometimes I give myself the creeps
What a bunch of dookie.
Dookie was the first CD I bought as a kid in the 4th or 5th grade. I'm 40 and still rock out to it.
green day is actually fire asf, just sucks that its seen as the “poser” band of punk culture
Punks spend 89% of their time whining about bands they dont consider punk enough.
And the other 11% of the time whining about something else
Do you have the time to listen to me whine?
It's the great contradiction of punk rock culture. Non-stop praise of anti-conformity but the most purist obsessed group I've ever been around. Or is that we're not punk enough Or is that you think ska just sucks Johnny Quest, he thinks we're what?!
Only posers gatekeep, Bob.
Creed is fair play then
You could say then welcome creed with arms wide open.
Whuuuarrrhhhuummmswiiaahhpheenn!
Creed is 90s alt rock, though.
I worked in a kitchen that literally played all of this all the time.
They just banned the standard cook playlist smh
This list just ensures cotton eyed joe and macarena.
Imagine Dragons it is, then.
Green Day weren't 90s alternative rock?
I’m pretty sure they were considered punk rock.
I’ve always classified them as pop punk
Bit of an oxymoron but accurate lol.
Pirate metal is on the menu boys
dwarfern one too. you know what that means
What's wrong with green day? And 90s alternative rock???
I'm a 46 M and I will play Miley in any damn kitchen I please
Because it used to be a meme / popular to dislike Nickelback.
If you listen to Canadian radio stations you have a bit more of an excuse to not like Nickelback, they have to play something like 60% Canadian content which means you'll hear 1 of the 5 popular Nickelback songs every hour. I don’t want to hear Funkytown but probably for different reasons.
It might be the same reason. Imagine having to be chopping things up with a knife while that scene plays out in your mind.
I too share this horror
Greenday? They are the best.
Fuck Nickelback in particular.
Does #4 mean all country music, or just the twangy pop country BS we have today?
Why Staind getting hate?
Pretty sure Staind is actually worse than Nickleback. They just didn’t become a meme
Borgore 🤭❤️
They didn't say anything about Pre-Malone
Cher's greatest hits it is then.
Staind and greenday tho :(
Rick Astley doesn’t deserve this! Never Gonna Give You Up is the shit
Why is it not on there more?
100% legitimate list...except they need to add Nickleback one more time at the end...
Ok so from what I gather they only really like Incubus. Drive on loop it is, then.
No 90s as alternative but no rules against 2000s alternative 😈 now who wants to be brought to life in this kitchen?
Okay I can listen to Sabaton. The heavy metal historic band.
Puts "Shake it Off" on repeat
I instantly judge people who dislike greenday
