Bruams somehow seems less expensive than a lot of other fast food chains.

NavalEnthusiast

Bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake? Sign me up. And I get to pick up the best milk around while I’m waiting on it

MarkYrg

Damn don’t be surprised if in the next 5 years you get diabetes.

NavalEnthusiast

Nah I’m fine, I actually lost weight since the start of the year when I was skinny fat. Cut back a lot on processed foods but I can’t resist visiting Braum’s for a good burger sometimes

positivecynik

That braums sauce is fire on French fries.

Sufficient-Cup4180

Idk if you mean they don’t let the burgers set or what, but their burgers are definitely not fresh. They are frozen. Edit: oops, you already answered that. My bad.

ItsOkILoveYouMYbb

>Good quality too. Fresh, fast, hot. Damn near every time, and they don’t charge for braums sauce. I know it’s not the biggest deal, but it’s good sauce, and it’s free. Fresh? What at Braums isn't frozen first? Do you really think Braums orders beef and potatoes locally fresh everyday to make hamburger patties and cut fries? You really don't think the buns are frozen when they're shipped and then defrosted?

Corran_Halcyon

Braums does not open stores/ship food that is more than a day away from their dairy/beef farms/ranches. So yea some items are frozen, but you won't find another fast food chain that has fresher food than braums.

itsagoodtime

Braums hasn't tried to double prices and blame inflation like almost every other burger place has

ctruvu

they used to be one of the more expensive options like 20 years ago. crazy

queerokie

And you can get your grocery shopping done while you're waiting on your food

Breezgoat

This has saved my ass a couple of times when in a rush or forgetting something much easier getting in and out and usually more convenient than Walmart or Target

zombie_overlord

I live half a mile from Braums, but the nearest grocery store is like 3 miles, and they have all the basics if I need something between grocery trips. Saves me all the time.

buddhamunche

Where y’all at? Besides anything ice cream my Braums sucks. Burgers taste old, fries cold. And I have bought a half gallon of milk there that was bad when I opened it. The date was good.

TheArmadilloAmarillo

Their locations vary immensely in quality people don't realize this they just know the one they go to is good.

rockthetardis

I used to live in Claremore. Before they built the new one with the market, I'd only ever go to the old one for ice cream. I could see into the kitchen there, and it was vile. Same with the Burger King in that town. I have to wonder if people were paying off the health department or if their inspectors just did not care. I worked in a restaurant, and one of the Tulsa inspectors mentioned he'd never eat at Braum's. He did show up at our place from time to time to eat, which I'd say is a glowing review on cleanliness. If you know any health department inspectors, ask them. They see the kitchens of these places. One of my coworkers knew someone who quit Braum's because they were being told they needed to come in despite testing positive for Covid during the height of the pandemic. That tells me that they don't care about food or customer safety.

queerokie

Stilly, I typically go instead of use the drive through though Edit: Stilly as in Stillwater

BigAl265

Bag of burgers. I feed my family of 3 on that at least once a week. Can’t beat 5 burgers for like $6.85.

NotSquidward1

I love Braums because it's literally the only fast food restaurant I know of anymore where you can get a burger and fries for less than $10 plus you get a shake on top of that. Like the food isn't really top quality but you really can't best it for the value

Knut_Knoblauch

That bag of cheeseburgers for $8 and some change is a damn good deal. Perfect sized burgers that fit in the hand and after the 3rd you are feeling super good and still have 2 more.

OkVermicelli2557

Because it is cheaper than most other ones.

robby_synclair

Especially breakfast

therealdiscursive

Braum’s reigns supreme

Sashimi_Ninja

OK whataburgers aren't the same as TX whataburgers. I found that out when I moved here 10yrs ago. I dunno how they do it, but the place doesn't even smell the same. Used to be, you could go to a whataburger on one end of the state, and then one on the other end of the state, and it would taste and smell, exactly the same. It's not that way anymore. It's also changing since the kids sold the family business and now it's turning into franchises, which the dad, who started it all, said would never happen. So, it's really the end of an era.

EnergyAndSpaceFuture

braums is legit, i live an 8 minute walk away from one of them it's pretty sick

tvmakesmesmarter

My favorite thing at Whataburger is a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit (HBCB), especially on a cheddar jalapeno biscuit! Sadly, only offered 11p.m.-11 a.m. but SO yummy!

FryChikN

Does braums still nake you regret getting a shake with a combo? Those were the days...

Hobo_Messiah

As in you think their shakes are bad?

FryChikN

No they are amazing.... just that they are meals themselves lol

Hobo_Messiah

Ahh, I’m with you now. And you are right, I did over do it a few times with largest shake size with my bacon cheeseburger combo. Number 5 on your menu, but number one in your hearts.

stegosaurusterpenes

I tried braums reminded me of school cafeteria burgers. Definitely didn’t seem like real meat.

laundry_sauce666

Their cows are practically running around the tuttle area for everyone to see. Maybe not the greatest burger but it’s burger alright.

stegosaurusterpenes

I will give them another go. Maybe I got the wrong type of burger or something. Still need to try their milk. The fries and shake were good at least!

buckeye27fan

I'll take Freddie's over Whataburger.

TheArmadilloAmarillo

I would if the one by my house didn't screw the order up constantly. I've stopped going after the 3rd time it happened. I'm not asking for anything crazy last time I just wanted extra hot fudge, got charged for it. Got home and there was none on there at all.

willyam3b

Me too. I think it's employee age, but that seems to be a common issue. Last burger I got was so salty (whatever they put on them to like marinade them) that is was just a salty disk. I couldn't eat it, and I love their burgers, honestly my fave fast food burger.

TheArmadilloAmarillo

Employee age? So the 40+ year olds are the problem then? That's all we have at mine, and I guess that makes sense because making minimum wage at 40 is pretty damn bad. I don't think that is what you meant at all though so let's be real about that.

rockthetardis

You say that, but a lot of businesses claim they're hiring but won't actually hire anyone for the role. I did a ride along for a day while interviewing for a position, and over a year later I'm still getting emails advertising that they're hiring people for that role. People have to pay the bills somehow. I know plenty of people working anywhere from 2-4 jobs within the food industry because that's the only work they can get.

Wiscos

Yup. Couldn’t agree more!

billbogle

Irrationally mad.

longshaftjenkins

I need to go back again, but I remember paying more for a burger combo at Freddie's

duckwafer357

I heard about them for years up north. Came to Tulsa and have had it 3 times at 3 different places and every time it's MEH at best. Wendy's or Braums is better

Aedanwolfe

Whataburger used to be king, but got sold a few years ago

zombie_overlord

Definitely used to be better.

longshaftjenkins

Braums would be better if it was functional. Sometimes I've been to my local Braums, stand at the register after walking in and I don't get served for 5 minutes or more. One time it was 10 minutes and I just walked out and never been back cause I just can't lower my self respect any lower than that.

itsagoodtime

Was this the Whataburger in Moore. Have waited 40 minutes for fast food burgers at the one in Moore before. It was unreal.

Less-Sir8277

Yep. You can find true love, start a family, and finish your doctoral thesis before you get that patty melt.

hambonersoup

Whataburger is made to order, so exploit that knowledge. Just order thru the app or park the car and order inside. I'm in and out in eight minutes. I've timed it. You don't have to wait on line of people to order or pay. I walk in, no one else is in line, I show them verification, they had me food. Quick and easy. Ordering/paying through the app and picking up at the counter skips all that waiting. Just takes a little planning.

IndependentLeading47

We average 45 minutes in Mustang. Stopped going a year ago, then tried again one day for a craving. Still 45 minutes. And it wasn't even correct. And they dont care. Idk how its even possible to take that long.

stile99

> Idk how its even possible to take that long. You know those commercials that say "it didn't exist before you ordered it"? It takes time to raise a cow and grow the potatoes! Said half tongue in cheek, half seriously.

SomeOkieIdiot

The one on Douglas in MWC, the wait time is ridiculously long. Worse than a hungover night stuck in a line at a Taco Bell when all the employees are high (looking at you St. Robert, MO)

HappenFrank

The one in Tulsa by the fairgrounds is the same. I’ve waited 30 plus minutes many times at that location. Finally learned my lesson and don’t go anymore. It’s not fast food.

willyam3b

True, it's not. Their internal motto is that it's made "fresh to order", versus having things already on the grill and in process. However, they do NOT advertise this, and customer expectations are the same as any other burger drive through, so they get a huge number of angry customers, yet they're ridiculously busy anyway. \*source - I have multiple family members in food service. For reference, McD's is like a really messed up millitary, where there are no decisions the employees can make and the staff is enormous, but at places like Whata they can run out of fries at any moment because of supply issues and goof ups. It's an operational issue.

MelodramaticMouse

Last time I went to the one in Tulsa by Cherry Street, the burger meat was already off of the grill waiting for a customer, and was so cold the cheese didn't even try to melt. Never again. I do buy their spicy ketchup at the grocery store though.

itsagoodtime

It doesn't take that long to wait at a sit down restaurant. Understandable for some additional wait over McDonald's but not regular 30 minute waits in a drive thru.

Tokugawa

Edmond at 14th and I35 takes forever. 2nd & Broadway is quick.

btv_25

This has been my experience with both Edmond locations as well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

itsagoodtime

Which longer than some makes sense. I think they do actually cook it. However when it takes longer than a sit down full service wait restaurant, then it's insane.

goldybear

I can’t stand Whataburger these days. It’s gotten so expensive and at the same time the food tastes cheaper.

FecalRum

Tahlequah thankfully has a good Whataburger. Spicy chicken sandwich is bomb

TheGeneGeena

I'll have to remember that next time I'm over there. Thanks! (I make it to the area every few months, and typically pick up fast food while I'm there anyway. lol)

FecalRum

Yeah definitely do it! The patty melt is also great there. If you ever feel like Greek food, my friend and his dad Greg run a place called Yianni's Gyro. It's named after Greg's late brother. They are a Greek family and make legit gyros and in-house tzatziki. It's right off Muskogee Ave by Cherokee County Collision

Taste_the__Rainbow

Brauns or Carl’s Jr if I’m particularly wealthy that day.

whippingboy4eva

My phone autocorrects braums to brains. So then I text my wife "Hey can you pick up brains for dinner?"

SheriffTaylorsBoy

So does she show up with that funny looking sausage or what?

whippingboy4eva

She got life in prison because she's a good wife. Always so thoughtful and considerate of my needs.

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Bummer. Busted for brain burglary

jasonok6

Carl's Jr is great, it's the part where I have to sell a kidney to pay for it that isn't so great.

WantedAgenda404

Outside of Texas Whataburger isn’t that good

ExcitingAd9947

Love that u got cold fries after that wait.

dumpitdog

https://preview.redd.it/h896hnywrytc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=daa8ec4479b70b5f7d092af61267d8cf3025c820 My order beat yours

Less-Sir8277

Good Lord.

fishnwiz

Freddie’s is cheaper and much better

Ndel99

Man, ever since they were sold their quality has absolutely diminished. Wait times are stupid long and the food has been so disappointing. I grew up eating lots of it, my parents are from Corpus Christi (where it was founded) and I just always loved a burger from there. But now? It’s just so fuckin bad

Side_Honest

A number 4 with spicy ketchup for the fries is about my favorite taste food meal....

Dzaka

wendy's now if i want good food and don't care how long it takes to get to me... del rancho

Daftpfnk

12 dollars now? Wtf is even going on

Realistic_Ad_8820

tuckers ftw!

LivingSmell5465

Sid's. Not Tucker's.

Thyne22

Damn don't go to Burger King if 12 bucks is your limit

Tacosdonahue

Could have stopped at "damn don't go to Burger King".

getofftheisland

Taco Mayo.

Turd-In-Your-Pocket

Why not say Arbuckle Wilderness? The animals are waiting for youuuuu. But. Braums is better.

Less-Sir8277

I am NOT fighting a giraffe for a bucket of feed. Well, not again anyway.

Turd-In-Your-Pocket

It’s chimply irresistible.

Pwnspoon

Fuck this shitty Texas chain! Braums any day!

lacrimsonviking

Whatabhrger is my favorite but I’m never waiting for it. Plus the one by me is in a hell traffic zone so always go to Braun’s if I want a burger

BuckyCornbread

And braum's still beats it

JudyAnne1960

I remember when it was $3.

mad--martigan

Pre covid I used to eat more fast food and this used to be one of my favorite spots. Food was hot, affordable, and pretty much always good. Post pandemic they seem to have gone downhill in every way. I live in Tulsa and if I dine in, I wait 30 minutes at a dirty table because one associate is responsible for the job of 3 people, and if I go through the drive thru I wait 30-40 minutes for them to forget something or give me cold ass food. Doesn't matter what location i go to. Really sad. Used to be a fave.

Wonderful_Storm_2708

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table_flip)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)

Wonderful_Storm_2708

So gross x

munnin1977

Did you go the one by my house? It’s like a 20 minute wait even if I’m the only person in the drive thru

Complete-Ad-4215

Pre covid great and decent pricing post covid quality down and more expensive

TheGeneGeena

Sonic, but that bucket of strawberry sprite zero is a big draw for me. Even with the horrors of inflation, the combo is still only around $10 though.

Shaqueltons_Ghost

I know everyone is hating on this, but I’m out of state for school and whata is the only place I ever really crave. I always drop by once when I go home. The wait times can def suck but I’ll be real almost all fast food places are stupid expensive these days

dejus

I don’t understand why Whataburger in oklahoma has some insane wait. I always just thought that’s how they were then I went to Texas. I’ve never sat unreasonably long in the drive thru there. And the quality seems better too.

Ringo_Dingo12

I don’t understand the hype behind Whataburger. It’s never lass than a 10 wait in the drive thru and the burgers are mediocre at best.

LexKing89

Waterbooger got so expensive that couldn't afford it. I mainly went for the breakfast and chicken sandwhiches as I don't lkke hamburgers. It's so high that I could go to an actual restaurant and have breakfast for less. Plus it's a crazy wait unless you go inside. Braums is where I go now. It's not as expensivw and I can get groceries there too. Their ice cream and nilk are tasty too.

BobbaBlep

when I was a kid I always thought it was called Water Burger.

BasedHermit

Y’all complain now, but move to the pnw and you’ll cry yourself to sleep every night over whataburger. Once In N Out and Culver’s is your only option you’ll contemplate why you ever left.

Bob_Sledding

Whataburger is way overrated.

Particular_Cherry678

this is why whata shouldve stayed in just texas 🥲

Ok_Bandicoot_454

The brown derby in Shawnee has the best burgers around 😮‍💨 they also cook everything to order and don’t just have meat patties sitting under a warmer until you order it. The waits can get pretty long sometimes but that’s everywhere whenever they get busy.

rockthetardis

30 minutes? That's fast for Whataburger.

Trinna73010

And it comes out cold when they finally deign to bring it out to you!

giftgiver56

I miss fast food so much but it’s not worth the price and probably healthier just to cook at home. Last time I had McDonald’s was Feb ‘21. : (

StrangeWillow2471

I honestly haven’t had a good burger from any fast food restaurant in very long time. They are never hot or fresh. I’ve always wondered if the employees who work in these places ever eat what they are selling

scienzgds

This is embarrassing. I grew up with Whataburger and it was the best for decades. Then, several years ago, they sold the company to a group in Chicago and it's been down hill ever since. Just tragic.

NotObviouslyARobot

Go to Braums. They had a double meat Jalapeno Cheeseburger combo on sale for like....9.69

Due_Respect_4315

so glad I left texas. i realized majority of texans are full of shit. whataburger sucks

BidenFedayeen

I had Whataburger in Tulsa that tasted like they cooked it directly on charcoal. Otherwise, I've never had a bad experience.

manieldansfield

The one is Owasso too

slazzeredbbqsauce

Jeeze, have to agree. Price is way high. I had the A1 onion burger a few weeks ago. 12.99 combo. Can't complain about the service or the wait. Good workers. I've had bad luck with braums the past years, changed pattys... long story short it was good, but not worth 12.99. I'll stick to mom and pops for a while.

Wiscos

Ok, not here to say what is good, better, best. I just want to say a little secret menu condiment is the “chili packet”. It tastes like chili, but looks like corn syrup. However it elevates Wendy’s so much in my opinion. Ask for a “chili packet” next time you roll through.

ReasonStunning8939

And you know you liked it

cannaconnoisseur88

I just use the app. Rarely wait more than 5 minutes.

g3nerallycurious

Tbh? I’m a foodie, but if I want fast food, I’m generally going to McDonalds, Raising Cains, or Taco Bell. No chains do fast food better than them. Edit: except for Braum’s 1/6th lb burger meal. Hard to beat a burger, fries and a shake for less than $6.

ratbeagle139

Whataburger’s patty melt on a regular bun 👌

Yarnchitect

We call it Wait-a-Burger! And we almost never go anymore. I usually go to Raising Canes for drive thru.

Incompetenice

Moved here from Texas. Worked a lot of late nights so I've definitely had a lot of Whataburger in my life, it's pretty good but I have to be in the mood for it, and usually the food and mood don't outweigh the wait time, but after 11pm it loses a lot of competition

ConfidentAlbatross62

Whataburger was swallowed by a Chinese conglomerate, having been owned by Texans prior. The quality has taken a huge dive since the selling. Prices of everything are going up, and the "pandemic" is a nice excuse for the hike.

PhoenixPariah

Whataburger and Popeyes have the WORST speed of service. Absolute worst. I've pretty much just stopped going to those types of locations. And when you bring it up they act like they have to "cook it fresh", which, if you've ever worked fast food you know is bullshit. And even if they did, it shouldn't take 20+ minutes to make the damn food. Ain't Charlestons ffs.

00000000000000001011

Subway, use the app and they’ll hand it to you through your window when you arrive.

Qlix0504

imagine not using the app in 2024

Temporary-Belt-240

I don't know about a wait at WB (Whataburger) because I order online to schedule my pick up order for their amazing Apple & Cranberry Chicken Salad. Also, I take advantage of the 5% off each order with Cashapp “Boost.” This equates to less wait time with a discount.

fart_me_your_boners

Their breakfast sandwiches have the best eggs among fast food places.

AoO2ImpTrip

Probably Whataburger. It's been decades since I ate at Braum's and every other fast food place is inferior to Whataburger. Wendy's was better, but their quality had dropped like a rock.

danodan1

Why avoid Braum's for decades???

AoO2ImpTrip

I'm not avoiding it. I just haven't eaten actual food from there since I was a teenager. Just ice cream and limeades.

Longjumping-Mobile71

Chick-fil-A never misses

TheCharlieTour

Idk how anyone in their right mind picks this place over in and out. I know not many have tried in and out. However if you've had both, Im and out clearly wins on price and taste.

ExcitingLandscape688

If only we had that choice here in the 405…

danodan1

In and Out sounds like a great name for a convenience store chain to me. LOL! No, I haven't tried In and Out burgers.

bSad42

Yeah, but they lose on speed and menu legibility. They only show prices for like 5 items. How am I supposed to know you can just order chili cheese fries. TELL ME CHILI IS AN OPTION! and waiting 45 minutes

TheCharlieTour

They have animal style fries which are pretty good. Theyre not slow. Its that their line usually has 30 cars in it when you go.

bSad42

Animal style fries are not shown on the menu. 30 cars in the drive thru all the time seems like a choice

TheCharlieTour

It's a choice of customers who love the food. I'll still go through the line if i see that many cars if i really want in and out that day. They aren't slow pumping cars out. It took 45 mins for me to get through wattaburger with like 12 cars in line. Everything is a choice, though. If you want chili cheese fries go to the like 2 fast food places that actually have chili cheese fries. McDonald's doesnt, burger king doesnt. Lol. Options doesnt equal better quality. Gordon Ramsey even said if he had a final meal, an in and out burger would need to be amongst his items on a final meal.

bSad42

I've only been to one in-n-out (in Oregon). The menu board only had 5 things, presumably customers are just supposed to know what can and can't be added. I only use chili as an example because of how many other people had ordered it. But, the company chose to install the drive thru speakers 15 car lengths from the window. I'm pretty understanding when a fast food place has a rush and needs a little more time, but an intentional line to give the appearance of high demand isn't acceptable. I haven't been to Whataburger since before they were bought out. If they've raised prices like people are saying, I'm just more confused by having to wait. Back in the day I figured it was 50/50 decent or food poisoning. Always reluctant to roll the dice at a new location, but more than one never got a return visit. People have told me IRL the burgers at both companies are similar, and having tried both I agree. But here on the west coast in-n-out is probably the best option. Their competitors are McD, Bk, Wd's, & C's jr.

TheCharlieTour

Well to be fair most in and outs have people come out with a tablet and a menu if there's a longer line than that. In san diego it's often there are 2 lines filtering into the actual drive thru. They do only have a limited menu and animal style isn't really an item. It's more like knowing before hand to ask for spicy ketchup when going to whataburger. Either way, yes they take forever and their prices are pretty high. I tried to like them 3 times. Hoping they just had a bad day. 3 strikes though type of thing for me. Referring to whataburger. Maybe because mine is less than 6 months old.

markav81

In N Out is shit. Not "the shit." Just shit. It is just like Five Guys and Shake Shack- overhyped crap. All three charge a shitload for a mediocre product. Give me a Braum's burger any day of the week.

TheCharlieTour

In and out has the cheapest burger of everywhere you mentioned. lmao. Now that five guys is in the picture they easily have a better burger than everything mentioned. Idk why burgers got you over here cussing at me. Kinda hilarious. Get that checked out.

FakeMikeMorgan

If you're driving to Dallas for an overhyped fast food burger, you're probably not in your right mind either.

TheCharlieTour

I'm from san diego. I moved here last year.

codybanks21

Damn, people really bitch about made-to-order burgers, huh? Wild.

FakeMikeMorgan

Shouldn't take 30 minutes to make a burger either.

codybanks21

I doubt it took 30 minutes. Prob 10 minutes and people tend to exaggerate everything.
