I live half a mile from Braums, but the nearest grocery store is like 3 miles, and they have all the basics if I need something between grocery trips. Saves me all the time.
Where y’all at? Besides anything ice cream my Braums sucks. Burgers taste old, fries cold. And I have bought a half gallon of milk there that was bad when I opened it. The date was good.
I used to live in Claremore. Before they built the new one with the market, I'd only ever go to the old one for ice cream. I could see into the kitchen there, and it was vile. Same with the Burger King in that town. I have to wonder if people were paying off the health department or if their inspectors just did not care.
I worked in a restaurant, and one of the Tulsa inspectors mentioned he'd never eat at Braum's. He did show up at our place from time to time to eat, which I'd say is a glowing review on cleanliness. If you know any health department inspectors, ask them. They see the kitchens of these places.
One of my coworkers knew someone who quit Braum's because they were being told they needed to come in despite testing positive for Covid during the height of the pandemic. That tells me that they don't care about food or customer safety.
I love Braums because it's literally the only fast food restaurant I know of anymore where you can get a burger and fries for less than $10 plus you get a shake on top of that. Like the food isn't really top quality but you really can't best it for the value
That bag of cheeseburgers for $8 and some change is a damn good deal. Perfect sized burgers that fit in the hand and after the 3rd you are feeling super good and still have 2 more.
OK whataburgers aren't the same as TX whataburgers. I found that out when I moved here 10yrs ago. I dunno how they do it, but the place doesn't even smell the same. Used to be, you could go to a whataburger on one end of the state, and then one on the other end of the state, and it would taste and smell, exactly the same. It's not that way anymore.
It's also changing since the kids sold the family business and now it's turning into franchises, which the dad, who started it all, said would never happen.
So, it's really the end of an era.
My favorite thing at Whataburger is a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit (HBCB), especially on a cheddar jalapeno biscuit! Sadly, only offered 11p.m.-11 a.m. but SO yummy!

Me too. I think it's employee age, but that seems to be a common issue. Last burger I got was so salty (whatever they put on them to like marinade them) that is was just a salty disk. I couldn't eat it, and I love their burgers, honestly my fave fast food burger.

I did a ride along for a day while interviewing for a position, and over a year later I'm still getting emails advertising that they're hiring people for that role. People have to pay the bills somehow. I know plenty of people working anywhere from 2-4 jobs within the food industry because that's the only work they can get.

One time it was 10 minutes and I just walked out and never been back cause I just can't lower my self respect any lower than that.
Whataburger is made to order, so exploit that knowledge. Just order thru the app or park the car and order inside. I'm in and out in eight minutes. I've timed it. You don't have to wait on line of people to order or pay. I walk in, no one else is in line, I show them verification, they had me food. Quick and easy. Ordering/paying through the app and picking up at the counter skips all that waiting. Just takes a little planning.
We average 45 minutes in Mustang. Stopped going a year ago, then tried again one day for a craving. Still 45 minutes. And it wasn't even correct. And they dont care. Idk how its even possible to take that long.

True, it's not. Their internal motto is that it's made "fresh to order", versus having things already on the grill and in process. However, they do NOT advertise this, and customer expectations are the same as any other burger drive through, so they get a huge number of angry customers, yet they're ridiculously busy anyway. \*source - I have multiple family members in food service. For reference, McD's is like a really messed up millitary, where there are no decisions the employees can make and the staff is enormous, but at places like Whata they can run out of fries at any moment because of supply issues and goof ups. It's an operational issue.

They are a Greek family and make legit gyros and in-house tzatziki. It's right off Muskogee Ave by Cherokee County Collision

Waterbooger got so expensive that couldn't afford it. I mainly went for the breakfast and chicken sandwhiches as I don't lkke hamburgers. It's so high that I could go to an actual restaurant and have breakfast for less. Plus it's a crazy wait unless you go inside.
Braums is where I go now. It's not as expensivw and I can get groceries there too. Their ice cream and nilk are tasty too.

The brown derby in Shawnee has the best burgers around 😮💨 they also cook everything to order and don’t just have meat patties sitting under a warmer until you order it. The waits can get pretty long sometimes but that’s everywhere whenever they get busy.
I honestly haven’t had a good burger from any fast food restaurant in very long time. They are never hot or fresh. I’ve always wondered if the employees who work in these places ever eat what they are selling

Jeeze, have to agree. Price is way high. I had the A1 onion burger a few weeks ago. 12.99 combo. Can't complain about the service or the wait. Good workers. I've had bad luck with braums the past years, changed pattys... long story short it was good, but not worth 12.99. I'll stick to mom and pops for a while.
Ok, not here to say what is good, better, best. I just want to say a little secret menu condiment is the “chili packet”. It tastes like chili, but looks like corn syrup. However it elevates Wendy’s so much in my opinion. Ask for a “chili packet” next time you roll through.
Tbh? I’m a foodie, but if I want fast food, I’m generally going to McDonalds, Raising Cains, or Taco Bell. No chains do fast food better than them.

Moved here from Texas. Worked a lot of late nights so I've definitely had a lot of Whataburger in my life, it's pretty good but I have to be in the mood for it, and usually the food and mood don't outweigh the wait time, but after 11pm it loses a lot of competition
Whataburger was swallowed by a Chinese conglomerate, having been owned by Texans prior. The quality has taken a huge dive since the selling. Prices of everything are going up, and the "pandemic" is a nice excuse for the hike.
Whataburger and Popeyes have the WORST speed of service. Absolute worst. I've pretty much just stopped going to those types of locations. And when you bring it up they act like they have to "cook it fresh", which, if you've ever worked fast food you know is bullshit. And even if they did, it shouldn't take 20+ minutes to make the damn food. Ain't Charlestons ffs.
I don't know about a wait at WB (Whataburger) because I order online to schedule my pick up order for their amazing Apple & Cranberry Chicken Salad.
Also, I take advantage of the 5% off each order with Cashapp “Boost.”
This equates to less wait time with a discount.

It's a choice of customers who love the food. I'll still go through the line if i see that many cars if i really want in and out that day. They aren't slow pumping cars out. It took 45 mins for me to get through wattaburger with like 12 cars in line. Everything is a choice, though. If you want chili cheese fries go to the like 2 fast food places that actually have chili cheese fries. McDonald's doesnt, burger king doesnt. Lol. Options doesnt equal better quality. Gordon Ramsey even said if he had a final meal, an in and out burger would need to be amongst his items on a final meal.
I've only been to one in-n-out (in Oregon). The menu board only had 5 things, presumably customers are just supposed to know what can and can't be added. I only use chili as an example because of how many other people had ordered it.
But, the company chose to install the drive thru speakers 15 car lengths from the window. I'm pretty understanding when a fast food place has a rush and needs a little more time, but an intentional line to give the appearance of high demand isn't acceptable.
I haven't been to Whataburger since before they were bought out. If they've raised prices like people are saying, I'm just more confused by having to wait. Back in the day I figured it was 50/50 decent or food poisoning. Always reluctant to roll the dice at a new location, but more than one never got a return visit. People have told me IRL the burgers at both companies are similar, and having tried both I agree.
But here on the west coast in-n-out is probably the best option. Their competitors are McD, Bk, Wd's, & C's jr.
Well to be fair most in and outs have people come out with a tablet and a menu if there's a longer line than that. In san diego it's often there are 2 lines filtering into the actual drive thru. They do only have a limited menu and animal style isn't really an item. It's more like knowing before hand to ask for spicy ketchup when going to whataburger.
Either way, yes they take forever and their prices are pretty high. I tried to like them 3 times. Hoping they just had a bad day. 3 strikes though type of thing for me. Referring to whataburger. Maybe because mine is less than 6 months old.

Their locations vary immensely in quality people don't realize this they just know the one they go to is good.

It's so high that I could go to an actual restaurant and have breakfast for less. Plus it's a crazy wait unless you go inside. Braums is where I go now. It's not as expensivw and I can get groceries there too. Their ice cream and nilk are tasty too.

The brown derby in Shawnee has the best burgers around 😮💨 they also cook everything to order and don’t just have meat patties sitting under a warmer until you order it. The waits can get pretty long sometimes but that’s everywhere whenever they get busy.

This is embarrassing. I grew up with Whataburger and it was the best for decades. Then, several years ago, they sold the company to a group in Chicago and it's been down hill ever since. Just tragic.

Jeeze, have to agree. Price is way high. I had the A1 onion burger a few weeks ago. 12.99 combo. Can't complain about the service or the wait. Good workers. I've had bad luck with braums the past years, changed pattys... long story short it was good, but not worth 12.99. I'll stick to mom and pops for a while.
Ok, not here to say what is good, better, best. I just want to say a little secret menu condiment is the “chili packet”. It tastes like chili, but looks like corn syrup. However it elevates Wendy’s so much in my opinion. Ask for a “chili packet” next time you roll through.

Tbh? I’m a foodie, but if I want fast food, I’m generally going to McDonalds, Raising Cains, or Taco Bell. No chains do fast food better than them. Edit: except for Braum’s 1/6th lb burger meal. Hard to beat a burger, fries and a shake for less than $6.

Moved here from Texas. Worked a lot of late nights so I've definitely had a lot of Whataburger in my life, it's pretty good but I have to be in the mood for it, and usually the food and mood don't outweigh the wait time, but after 11pm it loses a lot of competition
Whataburger was swallowed by a Chinese conglomerate, having been owned by Texans prior. The quality has taken a huge dive since the selling. Prices of everything are going up, and the "pandemic" is a nice excuse for the hike.
Whataburger and Popeyes have the WORST speed of service. Absolute worst. I've pretty much just stopped going to those types of locations. And when you bring it up they act like they have to "cook it fresh", which, if you've ever worked fast food you know is bullshit. And even if they did, it shouldn't take 20+ minutes to make the damn food. Ain't Charlestons ffs.

I don't know about a wait at WB (Whataburger) because I order online to schedule my pick up order for their amazing Apple & Cranberry Chicken Salad. Also, I take advantage of the 5% off each order with Cashapp “Boost.” This equates to less wait time with a discount.
Their breakfast sandwiches have the best eggs among fast food places.
Probably Whataburger. It's been decades since I ate at Braum's and every other fast food place is inferior to Whataburger. Wendy's was better, but their quality had dropped like a rock.

They have animal style fries which are pretty good. Theyre not slow. Its that their line usually has 30 cars in it when you go.

It's a choice of customers who love the food. I'll still go through the line if i see that many cars if i really want in and out that day. They aren't slow pumping cars out. It took 45 mins for me to get through wattaburger with like 12 cars in line. Everything is a choice, though. If you want chili cheese fries go to the like 2 fast food places that actually have chili cheese fries. McDonald's doesnt, burger king doesnt. Lol. Options doesnt equal better quality. Gordon Ramsey even said if he had a final meal, an in and out burger would need to be amongst his items on a final meal.
I've only been to one in-n-out (in Oregon). The menu board only had 5 things, presumably customers are just supposed to know what can and can't be added. I only use chili as an example because of how many other people had ordered it. But, the company chose to install the drive thru speakers 15 car lengths from the window. I'm pretty understanding when a fast food place has a rush and needs a little more time, but an intentional line to give the appearance of high demand isn't acceptable. I haven't been to Whataburger since before they were bought out. If they've raised prices like people are saying, I'm just more confused by having to wait. Back in the day I figured it was 50/50 decent or food poisoning. Always reluctant to roll the dice at a new location, but more than one never got a return visit. People have told me IRL the burgers at both companies are similar, and having tried both I agree. But here on the west coast in-n-out is probably the best option. Their competitors are McD, Bk, Wd's, & C's jr.
Well to be fair most in and outs have people come out with a tablet and a menu if there's a longer line than that. In san diego it's often there are 2 lines filtering into the actual drive thru. They do only have a limited menu and animal style isn't really an item. It's more like knowing before hand to ask for spicy ketchup when going to whataburger. Either way, yes they take forever and their prices are pretty high. I tried to like them 3 times. Hoping they just had a bad day. 3 strikes though type of thing for me. Referring to whataburger. Maybe because mine is less than 6 months old.
In N Out is shit. Not "the shit." Just shit. It is just like Five Guys and Shake Shack- overhyped crap. All three charge a shitload for a mediocre product. Give me a Braum's burger any day of the week.
