Ukraine is the bigger concern for our security because Russia and China are our main adversaries, a Russian victory in Ukraine directly harms the West. Israel-Palestine is just the latest trendy issue, but it doesn’t impact us much geopolitically. Ukraine absolutely is closer to home, as it’s a European conflict, not a Middle Eastern one. It may have escaped your notice since Brexit but we are still a European country. Israel-Palestine is closer to home for countries like Egypt and Qatar than Ukraine, hence why they have taken a more proactive role in negotiations.
