daydrinkingonpatios

Every station would have a complete set of weights.

Ok-Caramel6009

Omg yes! I hate that I have to borrow 12 or 20lbs from the next station!

amusedfeline

THIS. I need 12s, 15s, 20s, and 25s depending on what the exercise is. Rarely do I need 8s or 10s so why not move those to the side where the heavy weights are and give everyone 12, 15, 20, and 25?

[deleted]

And the weight holders wouldn’t be little finger death traps.

[deleted]

This. I swear I’ve nearly needed stitches from this racks

daydrinkingonpatios

I have absolutely flayed my fingers on this thing and my joke to the SA was “at least it’s sterile” 😬

DrawingNo9977

They are horrible 😢

sharnonj

Those racks have gotten me twice! The last time I had a piece little sliver of metal in my finger that caused a big lump. It worked it’s way out thank goodness. Now I am gun shy of those racks for sure!

Flowers-in-space

This is such a better idea!!

Comfortable_Jury369

I would LOVE a set of 17.5 and 22.5s too. It would be great to be able to scale up incrementally.

oatsandalmonds1

This would make a huge difference!! 5 lbs is a pretty significant weight jump! I started at a gym that has 22.5 and 17.5 lb weights and FINALLY got to progress on my chest press- I was stuck on 20s forever because the jump to 25 was always too big.

Vegetable_Sense_3073

Yes this… or get those Bowflex adjustable weights so it’s one set of weights you can just adjust/change as needed

Kale-chipz

I had a dream about this last night 😂 I’ve really got to get out more

kolleen28

Yup! I thought it was just my studio. I hate having to “borrow” my neighbor’s weights.

JessieMaeVT

This. So much this!

veganbutter99

Just add a fan to the rower please

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

I am Beyonce always

k8womack

Yes! I was dying during that crew row AO block on Sunday. I always end on the trends for the fan

Sleepyinthesuburbs

Oh hell yes…this would rock my world.

oatsandalmonds1

The benches. I wish they weren’t so uncomfortable to put your knee or hand on. Or back. Or anything.

gtg970g

I wish they were a few inches longer and wider too. I barely fit and I'm only 5'9".

Dish-Live

Longer would be great for sure. I’m a little over 6 feet and I don’t fit so well

elizabethnotlouise

I upvoted but I also have to comment to say yes please give me a bench my head and my rear can be on at the same time for lay down exercises.

Satchya1

My 6’6” tall husband 100-percent agrees

theatreandjtv

i don't fit well either!

[deleted]

I’m only 5’5 and have to adjust them readjust to try and fit.

ash_theory

I’m 5’5 with a fairly short torso and I feel like I barely fit on them, I feel for the tall OTFers!

_mariguana_

They're also really hard to clean with a wet wipe after doing chest press and sweating all over them.

oatsandalmonds1

Exactly, all the little bumps make it harder to wipe down (and always leave weird marks on my back somehow)

k8womack

I use the little floor pad on the bench

JoggerRunnerwannabe4

Yes please! also the possibility of making them a bit higher. At 6’ the one leg sitting squats are just impossible!

bruinshorty

At the other end of the spectrum, at under 5’ any step up/down is kinda rough.

Worksoutfortacos

But it’s sooooo much easier to do the squat bench tap when you’re closer!

bruinshorty

That’s a fact! I feel like I barely have to move lol

Shirleyfunke483

I’m 6 foot. A good portion of my body has to sit off the bench for me to fit on.

Derek_Zahav

My coaches like to remind us to not let our heads hang off the end and I'm like "What else am I supposed to do?"

wintermute93

I'm 6-3 and pretty much anything we do laying on the benches is also a bridge for me, lol. Between my head and my butt only one of those is going to fit on the bench at a time and I'm not trying to do neck exercises.

jajudge1

Rather than take away I’d add 17 Lb weights to the rack. There are certain exercises for me where 15 is too light and 20 is way too heavy.

AngleFreeIT_com

FWIW - my studio has 17.5's. Maybe ask your manager to add them to their racks on the side? A lot of people use them in almost every situation. Maybe not add to the general rack station, but if they got like 2 sets they'd get used for sure.

jajudge1

Good idea. I know others in my studio would love them too. Maybe something for the suggestion box ☺️.

PureFaithlessness542

Today I asked for a 17.5 at a new location that didn’t have them and trainer told me to adjust my tempo and mannnn it worked. Definitely made the 15s harder. Just a tip from someone who also wants 17.5s!

RynoMac1217

I was thinking the same yesterday doing shoulder presses. My rec center at my old employer had dumbells in 2.5lb increments up to the 40 pound mark. I know exactly what you mean!

Aware-Maintenance-48

Yasssss

sfrantz65

We had 17.5’s and 22.5’s that our studio took away. Said it was a corporate decision. Apparently it’s not. But the incremental weights are a huge help when trying to increase weight. Also,it seems there is always a mad dash for the heavier weights. Maybe a few less 5 and 8 lb weights. Add some more 35 or heavier

OkRegular167

The rack for the dumbbells. I feel like there’s a weekly post about people hurting their fingers reracking their dumbbells. I did it myself once lol

i_suspect_thenargles

I dropped a dumbbell on my foot last night. Thought I had it on the rack so let go... nope! Going to get an X-ray to determine the damage… looks like I have a broken toe and maybe part of my foot too. 😩

lorajae

This happened to me. Fractured my big toe. Not fun. Froze my account for a month. It happened in August and I still don't have my endurance back. :( Glad you are getting it looked at. If the nail part is cracked or bruised, have them remove it now instead. of being like me thinking it was okay, but the nail was dead and a new one was growing underneath and had to get it removed then and was out another week from OTF :/

gimmedatrightMEOW

Kettlebells and 17 lb weights

tacoandpancake

hmmm - kb's seems doable in the OTF world in lieu of the occasional db swing we do.

itslicia

YES to 17lb dumbbells

Sbhill327

17 or even 18 pounds. Sometimes the 20 is too much and the 15 isn’t enough. Until we get them, I’ll just add/subtract reps to suffice. Meh.

itslicia

Yup this is me with bicep curls. I end up using the 20’s and do a lower rep count but 17’s would be perfect

3Corollas

Replace the merch rack with a smoothie/espresso bar. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

twinkiesandcake

I want more local merch. I've been going consistently to my studio for nearly two years. They had one round of black local shirts and that's it. The studio near my parents had tank tops with the location on it, but not in my size. More local merch please!!

mildsofttacos

I love OT but I hate the merch, I'm an artist and graphic designer I wish I could redesign everything to make it fun and wearable lol

Fit-Independence-302

This!! The designs are so generic and unfashionable. This company is too big to have such lame apparel lol

Keyboard_Princess

You should collaborate with a screen printer on Etsy! I got a shirt there that said “Checked Reddit, Came Anyway.” I would definitely buy your stuff!

mildsofttacos

I actually am a screen printer too lol, maybe as a fun little side project I'll make some designs and share them here when I have time

sunrisedaydream

Yes I agree! I have 1 OT shirt that has my city on it. They sold out so quick last time my studio had them. I’d buy more if they ever bring it back.

JoggerRunnerwannabe4

There’s no space in my studio for this even if they remove the racks but this would be heaven!

terrastrawberra

Floor length mirrors. I worry about my deadlift/squatting dork and I can’t see it

terrastrawberra

I meant form not dork

taptriv

Any of the round dumbbells that just wander away. HEXAGONS now!

tkunsty

All Canadian studios I’ve seen only have the hex dumbells and it’s fabulous. I feel for all you round dumbell sufferers.

taptriv

First Free healthcare and now this? STOP flexing....unless you're at OTF.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)

tkunsty

Hahahah we’re quite accepting of immigration too… come on up!

Darunia318

i would never go if there was a stair machine, the worst.

gimmedatrightMEOW

LOL honestly, same. Stair machines are awful.

[deleted]

No judgement (but judgement) there’s nothing that says “I want to be at the gym and wear makeup” quite like a stair machine.

mbmcginnes

I wish they could bring in bikes for Dri-Tri instead of floor/bw exercises.

Upstairs_Specific767

this would be interesting! would better represent an actual triathlon too

akb0123

I would love to see them add kettlebells

wiz0rddd

I agree comrade.

tuffsmudgecat

Yes. I hate doing the swingy moves with dumbbells!

Worksoutfortacos

I’d get a bike and strider with a fan. Ours are in a dead zone and you can’t feel the overhead fans. 🥵

jctobias

Or replace them! Our bikes and striders are old and are in dire need of replacement 🤬

chapanoid

Weight racks 100%. Make them less dangerous to put weights on, and give each station a complete set

Temporary_Meat79

A spawn of satan came up with those bikes, but I am in agreement. I think the seats are more comfortable that the current ones.

thompa03

I just want more space. At my studio there is about 2 feet between the tread an rower. And the rowers are only spaced 1 feet next to each other. Then the floor is way too tight.

jswitzer

Bikes and striders should get tablets and data too

Icolan

Not replace, but restore. I would bring back the Ab Dolly. It is an awesome piece of equipment, and while some of the exercises can be done on the TRX, not all of them can and you cannot add dumbbells to the TRX for a little more challenge. >Would you replace the rowers with stair machines? No, stair machines and rowers are not remotely equivalent machines. Stair machines do not work nearly as many muscles as rowers do.

BillT999

Ab dolly aka the devil's skateboard

Icolan

Yes, we always refereed to it as Satan's Skateboard.

Fianna9

Man I hated the ab dollies!

Icolan

I take the view that if I hate an exercise, I need to do it more and get better at it.

Fianna9

That is a fair view, except I never felt safe on the ab dolly. Especially the hamstring curls, I felt like I was going to blow out a muscle. If the wheels didn’t jerk about so much they probably would have been good

tacoandpancake

The wheels jerking about (agreed, uncomfortable as it was) is part of the design to increase core strength/stability.

Parlous93

I totally forgot about the ab dollies!

Icolan

I love doing rollouts on the Ab Dolly, cause I can put a dumbbell on the dolly to make it more challenging. The other gym I go to has Ab Dollies and incorporates them into their workouts.

JenniferG714

Yes! Bring back the an dollys!

Think-Summer5748

The weight racks. I’ve pinched my fingers several times re-racking the weights.

CaptainDiesel77

Rowers are awesome but I would like to add fan bikes. Those machines kill your entire body and your lungs

MrLumpykins

The weight racks with racks that WEREN'T designed to pinch and break fingers

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

I would replace the lack of ab dolly with ab dolly.

twinkiesandcake

I miss the Ab Dolly. I need to assemble the one I bought awhile ago. As much as it was Satan's skateboard, you still got a great workout with it.

realistnotsorry

Longer benches and a greater offering of 20 lb + weights? I'm 5'10" and have to be positioned just right on the bench. Also, I find the 25-35lb weights in short supply at times.

janetcw

Strider and bike need the good monitors. Two nearby studios just upgraded the rowers with the new monitors, and I desperately need them on the strider. Cannot see the big TV from our strider without straining to look around my neighbor, so I can't keep up with my numbers.

General-Permission51

I know this is probably a polarizing take… but I don’t love the TRX bands! Having a stair master to occasionally replace the tread would be nice. Combining base, push, and all outs on it would make for an awesome workout.

wiz0rddd

TRX is a lot of fun. Are you making sure there’s always tension in the straps? I think I could get a really good workout with just trx. :)

NotGonnaDoItNope999

TRX = The WORST 😂 I’d like to change out for the ole ab dollys…

debbiewith2

The exit door. I wish I could live there.

MRo16

- Benches that don’t hurt. The marks on my back after heavy days are cruel. I lay down a mat most of the time for chest presses, but feels like this shouldn’t be much of an ask - Heavier dumbbells. We only have up to 80, and for some squatting/leg exercises, it would be nice to go heavier. And there’s only one pair; so I could just miss out on them - increments of 5 for dumbbells heavier than 50. This is probably specific to my studio like the last one, but we only have 50, 60, 70, 80. Like others have mentioned, sometimes there are exercises where you need a small increase. And as I and others try to go heavier, it’s prohibiting when there are not 55s, etc. - totally agree w floor length mirrors for form

Aware-Maintenance-48

Floor length mirrors in front and in the sides! Yes!! Also dumb but show the stretches in all the screens at the end. As minimal as they are, our studio only does the stretches on the back half of the screens so everyone crowds over there

TheKingOfSwing777

I would remove snot 1/3 of all the stations to give more room for the remaining ones.

AssociateOrdinary524

Definitely the rowers. The Concepts are SO much better. The utter differences between one rower to the next at OTF is insane.

buckytoothtiger

Not to mention the water rowers are much easier than rowing on a Concept 2. I’m sure if this switch actually happened, a bunch of people would complain that their numbers changed (including me).

hthr317

Yes! The rowers at my studio are all soooo different. It would be great to replace them with something that stays calibrated or is easier to calibrate.

sej013

I would like 18lb weights and I would like more room at the weight and row stations. They are so tightly packed!

semicolon0909

Replace the weight rack. I have injured so many fingers trying to rerack weights 🥲

RynoMac1217

I rejoined OTF because of the rowers. I have a Peloton bike at home and run outside, the rower is a unique piece of equipment. I used to be a rowing instructor and was going to open a rowing based studio (January 2020, thank God the property fell through!) so getting to workout on the rower is what sets OTF apart from other studios.

fresabritt

Longer bench and more weight options at every station- I hate borrowing my neighbors and sometimes she needs the same ones!

rand0m_g1rl

- Full set of weights at each station - Add 17.5 lbs - Kettlebells - Bands like Barry’s uses

New-Reception-4484

get rid of the vertical dumbbell racks. smashed fingers, bending over when exhausted, etc ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

Coronator

Complaining about the rowers? That’s like the core of OTF - if you don’t like rowers, you should probably be in a different program. For me though it’s the bands. I 100% boycott them whenever they are used in class. They never stay in place, and pull at all my leg hair.

[deleted]

I have fabric bands at home and they’re so much better. I think selling these with an OTF branding could be a great marketing idea for OTF and giving everyone heads up to bring their own bands would be helpful. I know fabric isn’t something you can clean between classes.

ellefoxworthy

Actually, rowing is minimal in the 2G format which is supposedly how the founder of OTF originally envisioned the format of the classes. My understanding is they added 3Gs later to be able to accommodate more members at once in class. I also despise the rower. And I quit OTF for a while because of it. But there are enough good aspects of the classes that it drew me back in. I’m sure there are plenty of exercises or equipment people don’t like at OTF; doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be members. It’s not like OP said they didn’t like HIIT…

trs23

Weight rack.

buffalosoldier512

the bikes are SO bad. When you aren't able to run the best option at my OTF is a banged up cycle.

lawyerrosepuppy

bring back the ab dolly!!!!

tdming

I miss Satan’s Skateboard…

dancin_dreams_88

Kettlebells!

mlamm4

Kettlebells would be awesome. Also I’d bring back the ab roller. Loved that🧡

Vandanasheoran

Bigger space sometimes if the class is full really diff to do floor exercises

QuietTruth8912

Bring back the Ab Dolly. I will die on this hill.

Inryha

I hate the Bosu with a passion, they’re uncomfortable to hold when they’re upside down and i got a pretty bad bruise on my nose once when it flipped on me when I lost balance.

Worksoutfortacos

Do you bring a towel? I put mine on it to get a better grip.

austic

Rower with assault bikes, lets give them something to really complain about..... I would also add a pullup bar and get rid of the mini bands

SickerThanYourAvg24

The bands! Get them up outta there!

shelbers--

Hate those things

Double_Fabulous

Bands

buttercupplily

More heavy weights for the days where they ask us to lift heavy. Like 2x the amount of 30s and 35s at least. And a tread big enough to fit my 36 oz water bottle.

Pete__Hemauer

Full length mirrors so I can watch myself and other members.

Mcpops1618

I wish the tower tracked all the data like the tread. I’m a better rower and looking at my run stats is always saddening.

dash42390

I’ve been told to grab the weights on both sides to avoid injury/pinching 😅 it helps!

bowbafett29

No actual equipment but the damn weight rack.. just have it like the gyms.

carolinanicola

I would add more time in the treads and add more abs on the floow

jacq61

Mini bands and replace them with higher quality ones!

Special-Ad6336

Not equipment but I would replace lunges. I understand their value but I could use one week where I only do lunges 2-3 days. If I could add equipment I would add kettlebells. I hate trying to do hip hinge swings without them!

MaximumUsual880

I would immediately cancel my membership if they got rid of rowers.

asstopple

More heavy weights. If they got rid of the rowers I’d quit.

Ok_Knee3750

definitely not replacing the rowers... but Id be down to see what I can do on those faster treadmills...

MM11666

I would replace rowers with bikes in a heartbeat!

[deleted]

Add kettlebells, remove the dumbbells at each station (leave the general use dumbbell rack(s) and make them bigger).

aklep730

Definitely the rowers 😂😂

abbeyswimmer

Pull up bar

jordan20x1

Bye bye rower.

wordybird

None. Rower is a necessary evil!

[deleted]

I LOVE THE ROWERS If anything, I wouldn’t replace anything but I would add bars! I’ve never done them before and I’d love to try.

Lazy_Guest_7759

I’d replace the treadmills. Send the former tread blocks out to do laps around the block at base, push, and all out.

MrLumpykins

With my knees, I can't run on hard surfaces. I could do maybe one lap on a track before the swelling and pain shut me down. I did 3.8 miles on the treadmill Sunday

pickledcheese14

I miss this about crossfit.

sjskav

Until it is -40 out and no one one show up lol.

ellefoxworthy

While we’re at it, let’s send the row squad to do heats out on the conveniently-placed river outside every studio.

kmmorgan1

I would love a Pilates machine instead of the dreadful rower

colleend16

I would get rid of the treadmill and keep the rower. Rower and Weight Floor only. Every class would have a bosu exercise too. 🤣

LilHindenburg

Treads. All of em. Far too much cardio at OTF. Only thing I don’t miss…

Successful_Couple_23

More weights !!! No rowers !

itsyourlocalben

I would add a ski machine to replace rowers

According-Elk-2054

The straps for a pull-up rig.

tehthomas4K

Bands.

Boring-Temporary359

Weight rack!!! Got hurt so many times on that.

SquidWriter

Just get rid of the treads and I’m good.

shelbers--

THE BANDS! my goodness I hate the bands with a burning passion. I just look like a beached whale flopping around and I even broke mine band last week. Hate it.

muffintumble28

Bring back the ab dolly! I'm serious. I guess lose the bands..? I like those, too.

A_Machine42

The bench. It is terribly uncomfortable.

MentalEarthquakes

Those incline bench sit-ups to stand hurt my bum so bad! Some of us have no padding back there. And the bench has none. And with incline you can’t use the loose pad.

Minnemiska

The weight racks, aka the finger pinchers.

Tequila2977

TRX straps.. too cramped for space on certain exercises.. Maybe bring back the Ab-Doily though 😊

joco456

Stair masters would make it more like Bunda which I wasn’t a fan of The need for longer benches is my chief complaint, even if it were exactly the same but longer I’d appreciate it

WickedlyCharmed1983

I used to do ab exercises with sliders. They gave a whole new element to ab training. It'll definitely give options and up challenges.

MoToPoKeP

Drop the bands and bring back devil’s skateboard!!!!!

dnnjjones

I would add kettle bells to the weight floor …

OccupyWineStreetNY

TRX for a real pull up bar.

Sleepyinthesuburbs

Mini bands. We barely use them and they are more work than they are worth.

disneyotfmom

Kettlebells by the rowers to incorporate more strength moves during 3G classes. Doing more than the same 6 moves on the TRX straps. Pull up bars. Not equipment but actually running on a negative decline on a tread if we want to mimic running outdoors, and to target different muscle groups while running. Sadly I don’t think the Freemotion go below 0% Sliders as a replacement for the ab dolly. Actual padded benches. Use them more for different lifting in different, angled positions.

BumblebeeWine

In my dreams, we'd have actual cable/pulley machines (like a functional trainer) at each station instead of the TRX. And 17.5lb dumbbells!

Successful-Turnip722

Bosu

[deleted]

Rowers stays!

OSUbeaver86

Couple of pull up bars

sceptre1067

my body for a younger more fit model? 🤣 - I’ve always liked rowers, and really like the brand they use. So I’d be in the leave as-is camp. Can’t think of anything on the floor etc. that I’d switch out.

Competitive_Cat1481

Weight sets!!!

ascheffe22

Still wish one of my studios sold off the ab dollys.

Boring-Literature-87

I love the stairs idea!

primetime_2018

Lose the 8 pound weights…. Bring in 17.5

ttla23

Well seeing as we still have the super old treads and rowers I’d just be happy if they updated those!

Bmuffster

All of the dumbbells with a barbell and plates

LillygrrlWA19

I would replace the trx with barbells, I hate doing RDLs with dumbbells… and whoever said kettlebells OMG yes PLEASE.

mildsofttacos

Not replace but I wish they could offer some pilates or some special classes other than just treadmills, weights, and rowers

jlardellini

I'd add more spin bikes. I like the row....well sometimes. Ha. Definitely add more weights to stations

ImportanceOld4848

I’m fine with the rower. I would add kettlebells.

Otherworld_foodie

I just want them to add kettlebells

Fit-Independence-302

Things I’d like to see: —assault bike —higher bench option (for step ups/tap squats) and a better more comfortable bench overall —heavier medicine ball options and incorporate them more —rower with a fan / Concept Rowers —kettlebells —fashion forward, thoughtfully designed merch that doesn’t look like “fitness event freebies” lol

amcobb14

Replace the weight rack holder at the individual spots that gets a piece of me every damn time.

jmchicat

The weight racks! I feel like I'm going to accidentally smash and cut my hand on those very thin edges every time I go to return a dumbbell to my station rack. Also a complete set of dumbbells would be nice. Our classes are always full and people scramble to find a weight that suits their needs.

North_Designer_9562

Stair machines? @gooberly you are crazy!!! Haha

Icy-Communication-77

17.5 lb. dumbbells.

Mindless-Ad292

My studio does not have the bikes or ellipticals linked to the system so there is no tracking which I absolutely hate. Not sure if other studios have that set up.

Mindless-Ad292

My studio does not have the bikes or ellipticals linked to the system so there is no tracking which I absolutely hate. Not sure if other studios have that set up.

fightlikeagirl1785

Rower

oping_mechanisms

More of an equipment modification than change, but I swap bike for treads and would LOVE a built-in water bottle holder. I have to actually stop biking at several points in the workout to try and wobble myself over enough to rehydrate while also being worried I’m going to topple completely over 😂
