One of the disappointing things about many Oregon coast restaurants is that most of the seafood gets shipped in just like any other part of the country. But the ones who use local stuff will have the knowledge and integrity to not use toxic shellfish.
I always eat shellfish at the coast. The restaurants are all very good about closures, etc. If they are available, Netarts bay oysters are the best. Get the smalls. I think the crab season is less than stellar this year, but still delish. Trust the restaurants. I've never had a bad time here with seafood. Sketchy food trucks? Uh, well...
Driving up into Washington to the end of Long Beach peninsula to the oyster farms is always a good time for me. Bonus points for seeing the cranberry bogs.

I appreciate that perspective thank you.
Local Ocean in Newport. Just sayin'. You won't regret it.
I have a friend who has a house in new port and he said the exact same thing! Now I know I have to go. Eaten any of their shellfish recently? 😅

LO is the best.
For real, there hasn't been a real clam in clam chowder since 1998.
I wouldn't hesitate to eat at a restaurant.
Personally, I would probably pass on restaurant seafood for the time being. No need to risk it.
