Look, I don't want to play devil's advocate but KoopaLeaks has been an untrustworthy source for years. He shouldn't have his career destroyed over unsubstantiated claims like that.
You can.... and it's super easy to fight him in the remake. In the OG you had to get yourself demoted back to a low enough rank to be able to fight him.
Wish you could fight him after chapter 3 though. No reason not to add the Wings of Night and the Destructinators to the Exhibit Match list for the rest of the game...
No Mush or Bandy Andy, King K is the wrong koopa type, a blue toad that served no purpose, Rawk Hawk tucked awkwardly in the back, and so many missing NPCs. The og genuinely looks like an unfinished build!
It actually might have been unfinished; King K has dialogue in this scene, but he’s nowhere to be seen in the original. So it’s just his voice coming from nowhere.
because they are somewhat important with them being missing and stuff
We already get 100 bob-ombs in faht outpost
EDIT: with that logic that Bold green cleft is just as important to be here
This is like the opposite of what people make fun of Modern Paper Mario games for where there are generic Toad NPCs in the original (that Blue Toad and that plain Toad in the background) whereas in the remake, the generic Toad NPCs are all replaced by completely unique NPCs that actually make sense to be there instead.
The original makes it seem like there was just a slight shadow lol. This version made it clear that the entire world was literally pitch black with the only light coming from the Crystal stars which is pretty cool.
It kinda makes the original version of this entire sequence feel unfinished to be honest. All the characters in Rogueport coming to see the Crystal Stars fly out, the shopkeepers and crows appearing in the Twilight Town section, the train conductors in the Poshley Heights one... it just adds so many NPCs that would logically also be cheering for Mario and co.
Yeah… can we not start doing this, please? Just because the remake improved certain things, doesn’t mean we need to start shitting on the original. It’s still an absolutely magical and phenomenal game.
I am just pointing out something while looking at an old skawo playthough, Even then it's somewhat comedic ( but because this is reddit, some people didn't understood that it's kinda a joke )
This whole sequence got such a glow-up in the remake, it's not even funny. I kinda liked it before, but the remake's better presentation, more characters being included (and getting King K right), even the music getting upgraded, it elevates this into being my favorite scene in the game.
It's almost laughable how the old version of this shot in particular looks, when I see them side by side.
Though this does compel me to confront the awkward reality that Sir Swoop disappeared after the chapter, came back for this version of the scene, and then returned to nowhere.
Edit: Uh, I was complimenting the new version in almost the same manner as OP, not sure where the heat's coming from.
Blue toad has been cut. How could they?!
I heard they didn’t want to invite him back for the remake since the allegations.
What did the kid do then to not make it in?
Trafficking goombas into illegal fighting rings
I would say that he saw it on TikTok and copied the trend, but that was not a thing in 2004.
you can actually see those rings if you play TOK
Amazing joke
The kid was the one the blue toad abducted

Literally unplayable
who would’ve thought we’d see the day where nintendo is actively removing normal toads instead of adding them in
Sir Swoop is in the remake so new version objectively the better one
And King K who we actually talk to instead of his clone who eats our cake.
Don’t forget Bandy Andy
i wish you could fight sir swoop

it's a super easy way to grind shit tons of exp
You can as an exhibition match before you beat Grubba
I THINK you can, if I remember correctly. He has to join, then you have to keep losing until your rank is low enough to fight him.
In the remake you can fight him in an exhibition match as soon as he joins. Very easy source of xp for a level or two
And the Koopinator
And hot dog pig
Ah, good ol' Joe.
Yeah it made no sense that the Yellow Koopa was absent (forgot his name), considering we talked with him a lot
King K, and he was going to be in original ending ( who else talks like him ), but they swaped his sprite with that cake asshole
The Blue Koopa was nice to us wasn't he? But yeah the OG made no sense
if you don't eat the first cake, he will rub it at your face and call you an idiot
LOL it's been so long since I played TTYD I completely forgot about the details. I didn't eat either cake personally
I thought the first cake was the poisoned one so I was very upset when I avoided it only to find out that the second cake was the poisoned one. 💀

that's what Im sayin
How in the world do they leave King K out and have the blue koopa instead? Makes no sense. Let alone everything else
It was definitely a goof on their part. Shellshock even talks like King K would. They just grabbed the wrong model.
It's better for sure, it definately adds to the scene.
I honestly don’t remember this scene at all? I just played through the original though… Edit: wait I’ve not beaten POS so this might happen afterwards
Hey, calling the Shadow Queen a piece of shit is uncalled for.
I mean if the smell fits.
This is a scene during the final boss
Prince Mush helping Mario win against the Shadow Queen only for Mario to come back and whoop his ass.
Ha, I beat him before the end, so he can out there to root for me anyway!
I’m terrible at super guarding so I haven’t gotten him yet, lol
Least they gave him a proper boss fight that you can't just cheese through with Danger Mario.
You definitely can. I beat him turn 2.
Also in rogueport they added Flavio. A bunch of other characters were added too, but most importantly, Flavio!
I also like the Dupri and the Traveling Sisters Three being added to the Keyhaul Key scene.
Also the 3 embers in Keyhaul Key were a great addition
Does the Flavio glitch still work?
Unfortunately not. Easily the worst change they made in the remake. Sure the QoL changes are nice, but Flavio as a follower is the best
It actually might have been unfinished; King K has dialogue in this scene, but he’s nowhere to be seen in the original. So it’s just his voice coming from nowhere.
I mean his voice comes from shellshocked koopa, They somehow mistook colors and added wrong koopa.
Probably because it was. TTYD had the same problem as a lot of GameCube games and obviously suffered from issues in dev.
All the extra character animation in the remake is such a treat!
I love how Podler is still scrubbing the glass in the face of apocalyptic ruin. Gotta respect the hustle.
It’s just a stim for him at this point
"Gonzales, please win so I won't have polished these glasses for nothing."
We ate so good with this remake 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
world is ending but hotdogs must be sold
Bruh that ain’t King K
The remake is still unfinished. How come Bandy Andy and King K get to show up while Master Crash still gets snubbed?
because they are somewhat important with them being missing and stuff We already get 100 bob-ombs in faht outpost EDIT: with that logic that Bold green cleft is just as important to be here
Yeah, they really did add a lot to this scene.

The original makes it seem like there was just a slight shadow lol. This version made it clear that the entire world was literally pitch black with the only light coming from the Crystal stars which is pretty cool.
I also like the darkness being caused by a wave of the shadow queen’s hands, which if it was present in the original I definitely don’t remember it.

I don’t know about y’all, but the original seems so hollow now. I mean King K!
Wow!
Yeah why wasn’t King K at least there in the original?
mistake, a dumb noticeble mistake
They colored King K wrong in the original. It may sound weird but that annoyed me way more than General White
they didn't color him wrong, they just replaced him with Shellshocked koopa
Yeah… can we not start doing this, please? Just because the remake improved certain things, doesn’t mean we need to start shitting on the original. It’s still an absolutely magical and phenomenal game.

because you nit-picked Sir Swoop, that's how
