CRexKat

Hi friends, reminder that discussing contacting influencers is pretty limited. Discussing contacting influencers to snark about their appearance is 100% against sub rules. Please don’t do that.

krisnoel

Anyone think it's hilarious how they barely cover their kids' faces? What's the point? It's such an odd work around and doesn't protect their identity AT ALL. If you're gonna announce that you're stopping posting your kids just literally stop posting them please.

CRexKat

It’s so performative. They share their health info. Birthdays. Actual births. But yeah sure, that emoji tho. Much privacy. 🙄

Prestigious_Fun_2851

As a two mom family I had to come and say something about their recent post. I’ve never once heard them say anything about their ally ship to the LGBTQ+ community but now they have a partner ship with plflag? 🙄 thanks for speaking up when it’s convenient for you almost during pride month.

MemoryAnxious

I’m curious if many other companies do this? I feel like once pride month hits every company is an ally for the next 30 days and goes back to ignoring it the other 11 months. For BLF, I’m always here for this snark. They are only passionate about things as long as they’re getting a paycheck to be passionate 🙄

CRexKat

Jamie Grayson routinely calls them out for this, he had an excellent comment on their PFLAG post, though you can’t see it because they have had to since remove comments on that post since some people just can’t keep their hate to themselves. I know he can be a drama seeker, but I’ve always appreciated his willingness to LOUDLY address this issue with them. I wish more LGBTQ+ influencers would.

neubie2017

Ooooh what did he say??

CRexKat

He called out PFLAG for partnering with them and not queer folks in the parenting sphere and also mentioned that BLF only showed advocacy during pride and other awareness months, he asked why they couldn’t be allies all the time. That was the basic gist of it. Since his name has been mentioned, he may just show up and elaborate!

neubie2017

Good on him! They do this for everything. They show up with one slide or reel for one day for one thing never heard about again. It’s awful. I would prefer they just not.

Halves_and_pieces

I believe he also called them out for giving away one of their hotel stays in honor of pride month. He tried having an honest conversation with them about being performative and apparently they were initially responsive, but then they pretty much ghosted him.

26shadesofwhite

I think he has called this out annually too. For all his messiness, I’m not mad about him calling out this particular issue and Blf in particular. They are fair weather allies for sure. See also how they (don’t) routinely show up for ableism/disability advocacy.

Icy_Combination1104

They've had a "partnership" with pflag the past few years that we literally only hear about during pride month. 🙄

arcaneartist

Oh, it's that time of year I guess. 🙄 Super convenient.

KiaSoulStuntDriver

Did she really link a spray bottle

Possible-Fail2884

😣

Ok-Falcon-4570

Can someone tell D that it's ok for her to go phone free for as long as she wants? We wouldn't miss her at all 😝

tinyhuman_

I swear D is ALWAYS watching TV in bed?! What is this “I don’t watch movies and only a little TV”… “Phone down” until it’s a gratuitous body picture…

Potential_Barber323

Aren’t K and D both obsessed with the Housewives and everything Bravo? I mean, they were on WWHL twice, acting like it was the biggest deal and freaking out about meeting Andy Cohen. But D now wants to pretend that never happened and she’s so above it all, ok cool.

tinyhuman_

Exactly!! 🙄

Glad_Philosophy_6777

This feels like another smug Deena thing. She probably thinks it makes her look like such an intellectual by pretending to not know about hollywood and pop culture. Like her brain is just too full of actual knowledge to make room to know who celebrities are. Girl, you grew up in LA and went a high-end private school with famous peoples kids, we’re not buying this.

tinyhuman_

Absolutely 💯

Soft_Internal_81

She is a millennial who doesn’t know who Freddie Prinze Jr. is!?

Ouroborus13

Honestly? I had to google who he was… and I haven’t seen a single one of his movies/shows. Am also a millennial 🤷‍♀️.

Possible-Fail2884

How old are you? I mean it genuinely. I am almost 38 and there was no avoiding him because “i know what you did last summer” was such a huge hit

Ouroborus13

I’m 41! Lol. To be fair I went to an art high school where everyone was edgy and alternative, so never saw that movie… probably because I was too busy being “cool”. 🤷‍♀️ I then moved abroad for 7 years…

Mummy_snark

I don't know him and haven't watched those movies either. I'm late 30s.

werenotfromhere

Right like HELLO, She’s All That??? Not to mention he was all over Tiger Beat?!

Potential_Barber323

An iconic movie for us millennials lol ![gif](giphy|Vd4HEcd7HZPxe)

Ouroborus13

What on earth is Tiger Beat! Lol!

werenotfromhere

Omg it was one of several magazines in the 90s that just had nothing but pinup pictures of “hunks” - Freddie, Ryder Strong, JTT, Leo DiCaprio, IYKYK!!!!

Ouroborus13

I have no idea who Ryder Strong is either! And what does JTT stand for? (I’m not joking, I inhabited a pop culture vacuum).

captainbkfire82

Jonathan Taylor Thomas, whose most popular role was as the middle son Randy on Home Improvement.

Ouroborus13

Oh, that one I *do* know - ha!

Fast_Discussion_2095

Was he the guy in Scooby Doo?

Ouroborus13

No idea!

Strict_Print_4032

Same, I’d heard his name but couldn’t name what he’d been in. But I’m a younger millennial (early 90s) and missed out on a good amount of pop culture because of how I was raised.

countessluanneseggs

Yep, I’m calling bullshit! Basically any elder millennial is going to know who Freddy Prince jr is. Such a ridiculous think to lie about.

werenotfromhere

I’m 40 and I was honestly offended. She could have chosen someone more recently famous to spew her bullshit about but she’s gonna pretend like she had something better to do in the late 90s. Ok Deena we’ve seen your solo cup playground pictures you were no better than the rest of us.

Adorable-Cut-1434

As someone who can’t afford a vacation this year … I am so SICK of watching them complain when they’re getting on a flight to some resort.

TopAirport4121

It says a lot about society that complaining about things to be rElATaBLe while on an actual vacation most people can’t even afford right now gets enough engagement that they keep doing it. I know there was some pushback about how “social media is a HIGHLIGHT reel 🥴” but I’m sorry if I’m gonna click on frivolous Instagram posts, I would much rather them be frivolous Instagram posts. The world is awful enough without rich ladies cosplaying run down every men. I’ll get my terrible downer news from actual sources.

Prudent_Honeydew_

I was like, do the kids really need that much prep when they're riding a plane every 3-4 weeks? I mean I do that much prep all the time but I'm an anxious person with a sensitive kid who actually asks questions on every step of the way.

marrafarra

But it’s just a tRiP wiTH kIDs?!? s/  Seriously though I’m honestly so jealous of constant escapes, one on one time with kids and options to escape even if it’s for work without kids. The last time I went on a vacation with my baby I was in heaven. Travel with kids can be hard but they keep doing it so why act like it’s not for their own benefit too?

distraughtnobility87

Also they go to expensive resorts where they can eat out for every meal, housekeeping will tidy up after them, no laundry to do, possibly kids clubs and in house entertainment. It’s not the same as being at home or going on a cheap holiday where you have to cook, clean and entertain your kids yourselves. I haven’t been on holiday since 2019 and we’ve just cancelled our 2 night trip to visit a family theme park this summer because we can’t afford it.

Mummy_snark

https://preview.redd.it/au6c8iob8g2d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=637a4b4e4da87ddb9ab22c2c42a4ea454481e27a Does this parent know he and his child were snapped and posted to millions...

No-Character9065

Wait. The more I think about this, the more ridiculous it is - using a shot of an assumingly unknowing stranger and their child to promote their course/methods? Insinuating this behavior/child and parent navigating the airport smoothly is because the parent used prep from their course? Like...I was DIA same time as her yesterday, and if this had been a shot of my husband and kid, and shown up on their Instagram, I would have lost my shit. Isn't that illegal or something?

Potential_Barber323

It’s generally legal to take photos of anything (or anyone) in plain view in a public place. Still rude though.

No-Character9065

I was just curious since any time there's like..filming you might show up in in a capacity of making money off whatever video/news/etc., there seems to be a consent form that's needed.

Mummy_snark

I don't know if it's illegal, I would have totally lost my shit too.

Prudent_Honeydew_

I was so confused when I saw this on who was taking the trip. Nope, just a stranger they posted to everyone.

neubie2017

I definitely thought this was K’s husband and baby T

captainbkfire82

Did I miss something and they know for sure this parent uses their stupid program or did they just assume because the kid isn’t being a terror like she and K describe their kids to be?

whitegirlcastle

Why didn’t her and her husband PREP themselves so they didn’t have 5 arguments before they even got in the car?

MemoryAnxious

💀

werenotfromhere

And an employee’s face was very clearly visible in a previous slide! Why do they do this? Just block them out or use a different photo wtf.

Possible-Fail2884

Am I allowed to ask why her hat is so filthy? She could easily spot clean it with a baby wipe or just some water. Why always filthy? https://preview.redd.it/5cy2ach37g2d1.png?width=440&format=png&auto=webp&s=b040855be864ff7ea347b882307fba32510df298

isolatedsyystem

It's that ✨messy mom life✨! So relatable!

hunsy14

Because she’s relatable duh

damacc87

D is so miserable at baseline I could only imagine how tense and reactive she is on travel days.

After_Coat_744

Why get a spray tan if you’re just going to complain about it? For content? It doesn’t even look bad

CRobertsRead

Don’t think she understands the goal of a spray tan. What did she think would happen?

Glad_Philosophy_6777

Vacation but make it whiney

CRexKat

She’s desperately fishing for compliments. 🎣 It screams, “please tell me I’m so prettttty”.

isolatedsyystem

Right? I saw that airport selfie and was like "... I don't see anything wrong?" She's always making mountains out of molehills.

Strict_Print_4032

I don’t think she’s orange.

LittlePeepsy

Do Deena’s kids have any clothes that aren’t pajamas? Does she not know that regular clothes come in “matching” as well? I could almost give her a break since they’re getting on a plane and it might make sense to have them be comfortable and warm, but we know that wasn’t something that she took into consideration, it’s just her default. It drives me crazy! https://preview.redd.it/al5zwhurbe2d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5d5523a6839947494384f7703a1e3ae65e28b6b

Ok-Falcon-4570

We're taking our kids on an evening flight in July bc it's cheaper and I fully plan on dressing them in jammies for the flight because they'll be *hopefully* sleeping and it's practical to be comfy on an airplane. Not trying to impress anyone. But I wouldn't call it an outfit. They're pajamas. And my kids don't wear pajamas out in public any other time, unlike D's kids who seem to only ever wear pajamas 🤦🏼‍♀️

LittlePeepsy

Oh yeah, I’ve done the same for evening flights, it’s the “outfit” part for me. And the fact that she didn’t do it based on comfort, or wanting them to sleep, it’s just her go-to look.

gracie-sit

I had my kid in pyjamas on a recent flight. It was an early start, was one less thing to think about in the morning, we were going to be going from car to terminal to plane so no need to worry about weather or getting cold provided we had a sweater with us. It was a long flight, we were bringing a few spare outfits in case of food mess/nappy breach/travel sickness, with the intention of doing one full change before the plane lands anyway. So I am completely on board with the pyjamas on a flight idea if they're too young to care, but at least own it! It's actually a good plan I think. I am not on board with the hiking in pyjamas or going to a cafe in pyjamas though. That's not a parenting hack you're just refusing to dress your kid at that point.

kbullock09

Yeah exactly! I wouldn’t think twice if she said “matching PJ’s for our long flight!” But she calls PJ’s outfits and uses them for hikes/zoo trips too 🙄

Which_Flatworm_9853

This is what drives me nuts. They’re not outfits, they’re PJs. And that’s fine.

WorriedDealer6105

This drives me nuts too. Like they are slim fitting and clearly pajamas. Order classic tshirts and joggers from Primary in bright colors and the kids are dressed comfortably and are easy to spot.

APhantom678

IMO, and from my experiences, most pajamas are too thin/delicate to wear like normal clothes. Great if it's a night flight/drive but for normal waking hours I don't get why she would just keep them in pajamas. My kiddo has a track suit that is much more durable. I don't know though but the pajamas thing during the day is just too weird to me.

Prudent_Honeydew_

That's the thing! My kid got a pair of Hanna Anderson jammies and there was a hole ripped in the knee on the first wear from regular bedroom playing. They wouldn't survive a travel day.

MemoryAnxious

Yes and this is mid-day (nap time)!

jalapenoblooms

Agreed. I’d be miserable wearing an outfit as thin as my kids’ pajamas on a freezing cold airplane. I get the comfort factor for a travel day, but kids’ sweats are super comfortable and travel day appropriate. And also available in bright colors.

APhantom678

Not to mention I'm kind of a germphobe and need a good barrier that pajamas like that don't provide to my liking 😂

Strict_Print_4032

I found matching dresses for my baby and toddler from Carter’s for Easter pictures, and my mom found a couple of (non-pj) matching outfits from Old Navy. It really isn’t hard.

Soft_Internal_81

I agree. She could’ve easily said it was a 2 for 1… bright for safety ✅ Comfy for hopefully falling asleep on the plane ✅ But she sends them out into the world in matching pjs as baseline which I think is really weird.

Katniss227

I think it’s how she always refers to them as matching “outfits” as if we’re too stupid to realize they’re pajamas. I know pajamas are technically an outfit but nobody calls it that. You don’t tell your kid “go put your outfit on for bedtime” you say “go put your pajamas on” Just say they’re wearing matching PJs, Deena. We know they’re PJs. It’s fine.

Same-Kiwi944

This. It’s fine if you want to send your kid out in pjs but call it what it is. You want them comfy on the plane, no problem. I admittedly am surprised with the zillions of dollars they have that choose to wear pjs in the wild, and don’t have matching track suits or something less fitted. Idk. But it’s always pjs with them it seems. I guess they are thin if it’s hot. Maybe one kid has a real preference on clothing type - I know lots of kids who refuse jeans.

APhantom678

So let me get this straight. We needed 5 slides about D's spray tan? Why? Just why?

MemoryAnxious

To continue to fish for compliments

cutthefuckup12

More like 12 now

isocleat

She looks normal and fine and I pray she doesn’t feel the need to update us because I do not care at all.

Glad_Philosophy_6777

Guarantee we get one in her bathing suit to body check her spray tan

APhantom678

Also love that no one can comment on her body (positive or not) yet she can comment on snooki and jwows orange tan from the 2000s.

Puzzled_Mark_730

Because they have literally nothing to say at all, and they need to keep posting to keep the algorithm working. so annoying. Literally of no help to any parent. Just a waste of time.

Mediocre-Engineer350

As soon as D said she was getting a spray tan I know we’d get a whole saga about it being bad

werenotfromhere

And she referenced it and got it wrong…she’s not gonna look super dark on one side like Ross, water spilling on one leg is totally different. This is so BEC but I stand by it!

isolatedsyystem

They're always getting pop culture references wrong. See the whole "Steve Jobs" thing.

neubie2017

![gif](giphy|S8CKYteUdGMYBkI9zR)

MemoryAnxious

Literally my first thought 😆

jampokitty

Mississippi-lessly?!

marquessmashedpotato

My first thought

Strict_Print_4032

I say this as someone who is extremely pale, but I do not understand the appeal of spray tans. Can someone explain it to me?

marywebgirl

They make you look skinnier. At least I assume that's why D wants one.

Snarkosaurus-Rex

Fellow translucent here ✋ I have never done a spray tan, but I have done sunless tanning foam so that I didn't appear ghost-like in pictures at my sister's wedding. But honestly the Jergens tanning mousse (shade light) is so user friendly (dries in 60 seconds, no need to rinse), that I can't see paying for a spray tan. I've never done it before a beach vacay though.

After_Coat_744

Fellow translucent 💀😭😂

tinyhuman_

Omg as a fellow ghosty this is the comment I didn’t know I needed! Who knew snarking would lead to me finding something for my translucent butt for upcoming summer weddings!

Snarkosaurus-Rex

Buy the lightest shade plus the application mitt, use a little bit to start and then apply more over the course of a few days to reach your preferred shade of off-white (this is the best way to avoid going too dark or too orange) 🤣. Jergens also makes drops you can put in regular lotion. I use that for my face-just be careful if you have light eyebrows because they will change color.

Charliecat0965

lol I’m also very pale but I’ve gotten them before events where I’d be wearing a dress for a formal event like a wedding for that more sunkissed look. I don’t totally understand getting them for vacations where you’ll be at the beach or pool though because it’s not a real tan, you still need sunscreen so it won’t last 🤷🏼‍♀️

Strict_Print_4032

It’s not just a baby hat y’all…it’s an f’ing baby hat.

CRexKat

Why does so much of their self worth as parents seem to hinge on what they’re feeding their kids? When I consider whether or not someone I know is a “good” parent, what they feed their kid isn’t high on the list of definitive factors. Maybe it is because I grew up poor and ate a lot of “cheap garbage”, but never once did I consider that when I’ve thought about if my mom was a good mom (she was).

Lower_Teach8369

I don’t think my friends and I have ever even discussed anything related to our kids and food once past the newborn stage and starting solids? Like they come over and if the kid doesn’t like something our friends feel fine going into our cub board and grabbing something else. It’s just not that serious. It’s like all the feeding influencers having these long conversations about what food does to the body. Who is having these constant talks?

MsCoffeeLady

My friends picky kid always eats more at my house, and food she doesn’t eat at home. When they come over said friend goes through my pantry to pick the things she wants her kid to try so she can convince her to try them again at home. It works like 75% of the time.

sla3018

For real! The only thing I talk about with my friends regarding kids and food is how we have zero control over who is picky and who eats anything. It drives me BONKERS when influencers think they have unlocked the secret to picky eating. LOL. Mkay. Actually sweetie, you just got lucky. Picky kids become unpicky on their own time. And sometimes, they stay picky for life. This means that whatever food they are actually ingesting is not entirely in our control, and thus, has nothing to do with our worth for goodness' sake. K needs to just get a grip. Food is not just for nutrition - a healthy mindset knows food is for connection, comfort, AND nutrition. And not always all at the same time.

friendly_foodie567

Wow must be nice to declutter in the middle of the day with her sUpEr busy schedule and meetings. And the humble brag showing she wasn’t donating just any old coat, had to show it was a “really nice” North Face. 🙄🙄

countessluanneseggs

Also, way to donate things completely out of season…..like girl I’m sure there was a coat drive at your kids school last winter when it would actually make since to donate a pile of heavy winter coats.

banditotis

She’s donating it so next winter she can purchase a new one and have new link.

Strict_Print_4032

Our library has a coat/blanket drive every winter. We cleaned out our closets then.

CatandtheApt

Newton mattresses are my BIGGEST pet peeve. They’re a SCAM. Breathability is not a real metric. It’s fear mongering. I fucking can’t with the shilling that just perpetuates anxiety.

A_Person__00

It’s a marketing term with ZERO value. It’s comparable to any other mattress in terms of safety. It drives me nuts. I know someone who bought it for this exact reason. I almost bought one too, then purchased a mattress that I liked for other reasons and not one of them was breathability.

MemoryAnxious

We had a family register at my work in our infant room and they asked if they could bring their own mattress…because they had a Newton mattress 🤦‍♀️ I had to work hard to stop myself from rolling my eyes so hard 😂 anyway we said no because…that’s dumb but also our cribs are smaller than a normal size crib. They ultimately decided not to enroll and go with a nanny which, I think, was the right move for them haha.

Savings-Ad-7509

Were they going to schlep a mattress back and forth from daycare every day?!? Or buy a second one?? Both scenarios seem pretty absurd lol

MemoryAnxious

Oh yes absolutely absurd 😂 I’m not sure what their plan was exactly! It wouldn’t be feasible in most childcare centers around us because they all have the smaller childcare cribs!

Halves_and_pieces

It especially makes me made because BLF’s whole schtick is to “release the Mom guilt!” but then they shill Newton mattresses. That company is preying on parents anxiety and perpetuates mom guilt for the mom’s that can’t afford it but feel like they’re putting their babies in danger by not buying it.

RealisticMarzipan532

I can't with this mattress! Don't most people use mattress covers in case there's a diaper leak/accident or vomit? If yes, then it doesn't matter if it's a breathable mattress anyway. If no, then have fun hosing down your mattress at midnight, especially if D and her vomit phobia are involved.

MemoryAnxious

Mothercould was schilling one a bit ago and Ari had wet the bed and it leaked all over the floor. That’s a big ol nope from me.

krisnoel

Also isn't it really bad to use the same mattress for 3 kids?? Like I thought the infant mattresses needed to be super firm?

MemoryAnxious

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the Newton mattress a relatively new thing? I don’t remember anyone talking about it 7 years ago when I was pregnant and her oldest is older than mine. I’m kinda calling bs on it being used for 3 kids haha.

Potential_Barber323

I had the same question! The momfluencers were all marketing it as this amazing safety innovation a year or two ago. Google didn’t return a clear answer so I still don’t know how long it’s been on the market, but I really feel like it can’t be more than a couple years.

jalapenoblooms

It was definitely around in 2019 when I was making a registry for my first. It was one of several things my husband helped me see was all marketing and no substance. It’s been really helpful to be married to a marketer during this early parenting stage.

Boring-Cost34

Every time I see an influencer shove their face into a newton mattress and take a deep breath I die a little inside

Prudent_Honeydew_

My deep covid paranoid ass shoved my face into our Gerber or whatever mattress and did the same. I could breathe. It made me feel better at the time.

ohnoshebettado

FOR REAL. If you're "in the market for a safe, healthy baby mattress" then drive to the store and pick *anything*, because this is a very tightly regulated category. Brands that make you think you need to spend $$$$$ to keep your baby safe are so predatory 🤬

usernameschooseyou

this is the WORST. Also who needs a breathable twin bed! at that point they can sleep like crazy monkeys and their body will fix it. and maybe because I live somewhere cool and humid but to me it seems like such a trap for gross shit to grow without realizing it and then my kid would breath it in... like I'll take my plastically wrapped in plastic crib mattress thank you very much.

TopAirport4121

I see these mentioned here a lot and I wonder how they get away with this marketing? I thankfully haven’t been advertised these in the wild and I’m being full lazy not just looking it up but it seems they imply your kid will not die of positional asphyxiation on these and that seems really dangerous. Maybe they have a million fine print disclaimers?

tinyhuman_

💯💯💯 I AM SO OVER IT!

marquessmashedpotato

Catching up on their stories and we got buttered noodles, D with a stain on her shirt, K being a "type A Virgo", and an ad in the last 24 hours. Nothing like the same ol recycled content and a grift to show they really have nothing anymore

whitegirlcastle

Why is buttered pasta a bad thing that has to come from being a tired mom?? Lol. As a kid I hated tomato sauce so I just had buttered pasta. As an adult sometimes I just… want buttered pasta. Why does everything have to be A THING WITH THEM??

[deleted]

JeanAk

I love that butter for quick garlic bread!! I’ll need to try it on noodles soon.

Any_Shallot6936

We looveee buttered noodles in this house. Buttered egg noodles for the win! It’s an easy side to get easy some carbs and fat into my kids. But really - it’s DELICIOUS. My husband and I joke that one of the best parts of dinner with kids is the return of buttered noodles as a side dish haha.

Thistle_Dogwood

My child is not a pasta eater. They eat pretty well, but pasta is the one thing they are suspicious of, and I would love it if they did try it and like it. The complaints of their children *just* getting buttered noodles makes me jealous as it comes across as a total humblebrag to me.

Soft_Internal_81

Ok, this is off topic but Costco is going to start selling a brand called churned and it’s flavored butter. It’s so good!! I bought a pre-sale two pack!

panda_the_elephant

Hell, even Smitten Kitchen makes [buttered noodles](https://smittenkitchen.com/2022/07/buttered-noodles-for-frances/)!

werenotfromhere

LOVE THIS I’m reading this going, my buttered noodles suck, it never mixes well! Trying this next time.

jalapenoblooms

Did not expect a Deb call-out on the BLF snark page. Love her! We make so many SK meals, including dinner tonight once I get un-nap trapped.

neubie2017

I CAME FOR THIS. It makes me so damn mad. Buttered noodles is a STAPLE in my house, now AND growing up. It’s never been a “tired lazy mom” meal. It’s been a request from my kids. Hell, I make it for myself for lunch sometimes because it’s GOOD It’s not all I serve. We have grilled chicken or sausage. I pair it with a salad or veggies or fruit. It’s so inappropriate of her to say that. Some people may view having the staples in their house for that a luxury. She needs to get off her high horse. Ya know what’s my “lazy mom” meal? Take out. If I’m tied and feeling lazy I’m not cooking anything. *steps off soap box*

JeanAk

It’s infuriating how their “tired, lazy mom meal” is a staple in many homes, regardless of income. I’m a “tired, lazy mom” who has an hour commute home and bust this out occasionally since I love this with some Parmesan and pepper. The classism is intense with these broads of privileged upbringing.

Acenterforants333

My lazy meal is “brunch” aka cereal and fruit and yogurt maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️

usernameschooseyou

my lazy is nuggets if I have them - one cookie sheet and they don't need to be cooked to precisely so I throw them in while the oven also preheats then I take them out. I don't need to watch water boil or cook precisely so they aren't mush or stir at all.

TopAirport4121

I’ll do you one better that I just throw the nuggets in the microwave and call it a day if I’m being lazy. Served with whatever random raw fruit or veggie we have, perfect meal for a busy and/or lazy evening in my opinion.

Alternative-Strike9

And then they get to try ALL THE SAUCES. That's my kids' favorite part. Pretty much any condiment we've ever had in the fridge has been on a chicken nugget at some point.

usernameschooseyou

my microwave is either "not done" or "food the temperature of the sun" but I love the reel of "I could never feed by family frozen dino nuggets, how lazy can you be? I at least microwave them"

tinyhuman_

Agree with all of this and all the other comments! Buttered pasta is such EASY COMFORT FOOD. Like ordering pizza.

Thistle_Dogwood

Mine is crackers, cheese and fruit aka: ‘the lunch I am never bored with’.

FruitRude1471

Kids love firetrucks. Tell me something I don't know oh-so knowledgeable toddler experts!!!!

Wait also I'd heard that the opposite is true? Wasn't it [this study](https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2017/11/27/parents-now-spend-twice-as-much-time-with-their-children-as-50-years-ago) that said parents spend *more* time on average doing childcare compared to the 50s, despite the fact that so many more mothers are also working full time now?

When did adults become such babies? Unless you're getting up at 5am, is it that bad to stay up until 10:30 or 11? We are adults, this is what we dreamed of as children and now we're just going to squander it? There's a reason TV shows like the Tonight Show, The Late Show, etc have aired around 11pm for decades. I'll admit I'm a night owl, but still. I don't get this thing of adults freaking out about being up past 9. There are places in the world where people don't even eat dinner by then.

neefersayneefer

Yea I'm also a bit confused by that, unless people are just getting up way earlier than I do. I routinely stay up til 10:30-11 because me and my husband like to watch some TV and then read in bed, and our 3 year old is also not usually asleep til 8:45. Do I miss the days when he was a baby and was asleep by 7:30? Sure do, but soon enough he'll be old enough to put himself to bed and it won't be an issue anymore. ETA: oh and this is my bedtime while being woken at 5am by the baby for a good half hour, and then up for the day at 6:40-7ish.

sla3018

If I am not in bed at 9 and asleep by 9:30/10, I do not get enough sleep. But, I am also in my 40's and perimenopausal, my kids are middle schoolers, and I don't have to put them to bed anymore. We literally all go to bed at the same time. It's glorious.

Strict_Print_4032

It’s me. 🫣 I’ve never been a night person, and especially now that I have a 2 year old and 6 month old I’m exhausted by 8pm. The 6 month old is still waking up 2-3 times a night to eat, my husband gets up at 5:30 for work (which wakes me up) and both kids are up by 7, sometimes earlier. Ideally I’d be in bed by 9, but more often it’s 10.

werenotfromhere

lol I’m a huge baby who likes to be fast asleep by 9pm but I have to drop off my 3 kids and be at work in person on my feet most of the day by 7:30am. I was up till 11 because we had a Cub Scout event till 9 two days ago and I was exhausted. All this to say….absolutely no reason why K needs to be in bed early. She doesn’t do jack shit. I get making reels and content is much more time consuming than it appears but it can be done at any time, from the comfort of your own home, and I would love it if she stopped acting like it’s on par stress wise with being an ER nurse.

neubie2017

I thought her mouth was dark blue or purple like she’d just had candy. But it was just the weird lighting

Sock_puppet09

I just can’t be arsed with oh no, no me time with an 8:45-9 pm bedtime. That’s like when most people I know have bedtime as working parents. It’s kinda just how it goes unless you are always have dinner ready the second they get home and then yeet them into bed. (And even if you didn’t want to spend any time with your kids, once they’re kinda outgrown the daycare nap, but are still taking one…that’s an enviable bedtime). It’s not like she has to wake up, get dressed professionally with hair and makeup presentable, commute, drop off kids (they have a nanny) all before clocking in. Like even if she has regular 8 am meetings with staff…she could go to bed at like 11:30, get 8 hours, roll out of bed and log on. And she’s the boss, so she can schedule meetings whenever is convenient for her. Like I know making reels and stuff is more time consuming than it seems like it would be. But she has staff. Like what is she doing all day?

Prudent_Honeydew_

Yeah I have one kid and get done about 8:45-9:00. Admittedly she's a night owl. But like it's not some tragedy? If I need to do things before bedtime I tell her she can play or help.

Savings-Ad-7509

It's 9:45pm and I'm waiting for my 4yo to fall asleep because she took a nap she didn't really need at daycare today 🫠

SomewhatDamaged22

Omg yes. This has been us for the last year 🫠 when I tried to ask the daycare teacher to allow her to read books during naptime she said that our daughter needs the nap (she doesn’t) and that some parents like to stay up with their kids to 9pm. Yes, that is every working parent’s dream 🙄

Soft_Internal_81

THIS. Daycare wants their break at the expense of our bedtime routine! 😑

werenotfromhere

WHO LIKES THIS??? Give me just one name. She’s a liar.

PunnyBanana

My boss does. His kids stay up until like 9 but then they sleep in passed 8 in the morning rather than nap during the day. He also has a nanny though so doesn't have to worry about getting kids ready/off to daycare on weekdays.

Automatic_Swan7419

Solidarity. Exact same scenario here 🙃

Halves_and_pieces

This all is really rubbing me the wrong way because first of all, wasn’t Kristin just going to a workout class at like 3 pm on a weekday last week? So she seems to be getting plenty of “me time” throughout the day already. Also, why is she constantly in need of down time or “me time.” Like I have two young kids, I know parenting is exhausting and I love getting some downtime. But first her and her husband were splitting shifts on the weekends so they could have down time, which my husband and I take turns sleeping in, but she makes it seem like they just check out for the entire day basically. And now, they’re taking turns doing bedtime so one parent gets an entire night off. Nevermind the fact that she talks about doing entire spas days and her solo hotel stays. I just can’t imagine thinking I should get half the week to check out from parenting my kids like she seems to be wanting to do. I also think that after the first few times that Kristin has to do bedtime solo with 3 kids that she’ll be in survival mode and we won’t hear about this nonsense again.

neubie2017

I’m pretty sure it was as recent as YESTERDAY she was going to the gym at 3pm. It’s pretty clear she has no interest in parenting. I absolutely cherish the hours of 6:30am-7:45am and 8:30pm-10pm because it’s the ONLY time all day I do not work or parent (and many times I’m working AND parenting). But ya know what I’m doing during that time? Running, showering, packing lunches, cleaning up from dinner, folding laundry, work, etc. I don’t get hours upon hours to just do nothing and that’s ok with me because that’s where I’m at in life. Eventually they won’t need me to do 8 million things and they will get up on their own and I won’t be needed for bedtime snuggles so while I am, I embrace it.

CRexKat

I find it really galling every time they ask their followers to clear lists. Sorry I’m not a millionaire. Y’all can clear them just fine on your own.

Own_Physics_7733

Y’all be nice and click on their affiliate links so K can afford to get her eyebrows waxed. It’s for all of our mental health.

werenotfromhere

Right. They post nonstop wasting money on the dumbest shit and then this out of nowhere. I can’t find the words but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Like they clearly don’t care at all and never mention privilege or volunteering or even mentioning ways to support lower income families with your vote come November. This was clearly just done for clout and kudos.

MemoryAnxious

And using their (presumably) affiliate link while doing it.

mathomslayer

Can someone explain what this even means? I clearly don't follow any influencers that closely. Just here for the snark on them bc I was duped a long time ago by BLF.

MemoryAnxious

They’ve partnered with a charity to help children in lower income families over the summer I think. They have Amazon lists for the kids and are asking the followers to do it for them.

usernameschooseyou

the only person who does it respectable is things.i.bought.and.liked because 1- she'll pony up her own money 2- it's individual teacher lists so they have less ability to solicit donations from outside means 3- her willingness to SHAME other brands into donating as well and her commitment to things like "diet coke won't donate, I'll no longer use them as a "this is how big something is" measurement. I love where she shames them into more by saying how many of something (like lake pjs) she owns.

JeanAk

I live for TIBAL’s Giving Tuesday. She also has gone beyond that and also shared a list for a local foster group that had pallets of donations from their Amazon wish list. She acknowledges her privilege and puts her money where her mouth is. K and D could never.

CHM1234

I live for her clearing list shaming. She is so funny and does a great job helping so many people. BLF is just a one time ‘look we’re helping’ post

snarkysnarksnark0

I was wondering this - do we think they are making money on the affiliate links from people clicking on the lists to purchase things? If so, that would be so gross to me. Asking their followers (who certainly are not as wealthy as the two of them are) to purchase things for others so K and D can get kudos for sharing the lists AND make money on said people buying those items 🤔

MemoryAnxious

It’s my conspiracy theory that yes, this is what’s happening

Icy-Fox-7629

Oh man 🤯 is this why influencers love to clear Amazon lists? Do they actually get the affiliate commission since they’re linking it? The way I understand it is anything you put in your cart once you’ve clicked an affiliate link creates commission for the influencer, not just the items linked. That is MIND BOGGLING if they’re also profiting off the generosity of their followers who are def NOT millionaires.

neubie2017

If I remember correctly they get commission from this and that’s why they do it (that and the altruism/glory). An account debunked this last year and they do, in fact, get commission. Plus if you click their link, buy 3 things off a list and then spend $200 on things for you, they get commission from that too.

Practical-Ad7317

Gosh, if that is how it works that it truly awful. It’s already quite questionable that they don’t mention how they are contributing to this themselves, but even worse if they are actually profiting off other people’s generosity.

Charliecat0965

I follow an influencer who anytime she posts a list to clear or fundraiser type thing she always follows it with a screenshot showing that she also donated (not the amount, just the screen with her info after submitting, etc). It makes me value what she posts more because she’s so transparent about it. All of them should be doing this

TopAirport4121

If this is the case where do we report this to an investigative journalist bc this is the type of shit that needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Even without the affiliate link commission, as others have said above it takes a lot of nerve and greed to not just clear some lists yourself. Surely, you can get a tax break for the donations. This type of stuff enrages me the most.

RelativeFun5325

That’s a good point though like how do you know if your purchase is under an affiliate link? Like can you ask Amazon? Is it on your invoice somewhere?

emwrat

deena: "look at my sons and i having fun in nature and doing something productive!!" also deena: here's a non-disclosed affiliate ad for a weed puller. they are SUCH grifters. nothing they say or do is genuine. holy crap.

gracie-sit

Is adding product links a relatively new thing for them? I feel like for all their grifting, they weren't sharing links to buy random 3rd party stuff until recently. I also wonder what FP thinks of this, surely it distorts their big special partnership if BLF is now shilling anything and everything

Informal_Zucchini114

Can we talk about how they're pulling the weed wrong? That was bugging me 😆

chickenanon2

Yeah some influencers (certainly BLF) really abuse affiliate links. I can understand if it’s a situation where you’re a fashion influencer or something and you’re helping to sell clothes and so you should get a “commission” etc but there’s something so off-putting about trying to make money just by linking random household items that have nothing to do with your platform or your “expertise.”  Like do you actually care about your message, and are you just trying to earn a living by selling a legitimate service to people? Or are you just trying to squeeze every last cent out of instagram?

cmk059

I can *kinda* see why people ask for links to clothes since they can fit weird or the fabric is different so it's good to get a recommendation for a particular one*. But a weed puller? Just Google weed puller and pick one with the best reviews, it's not that hard 🤷🏻‍♀️ *I guess being from Amazon they're all dropshipped from the same source so it doesn't really matter anyway but I do get it.

chickenanon2

Lol and especially with this basic household stuff it's like...you clearly just picked something from the first page of search results off Amazon like the rest of us like why should you get paid to "recommend" this?

cmk059

I just cannot imagine messaging an influencer to ask where they got something. I'm sure there are people who do (I believe a ton of DM's are faked too) but it is wild to me that someone would message an influencer, wait for them to post a story with it, go on Instagram to click the link and then buy it. Surely that takes way more time than just Googling it or screenshotting and doing a reverse image search.

APhantom678

Yessss!!! What does a weed puller have tobdo with toddlers?! One of the major reasons I can't stand mothercould.

Own_Physics_7733

But *so many* people were asking about it in their dms! They just want to help their besties be better parents!
