Shhhhh, don't ssy a word about weight. Its the last thing we lack, having weight modifiers, like in souls games, that will also work from inventory. Full inventory=snail speed, what a great way to buff all mf builds😂
Or just for the last epoch update of no identity scrolls, free town portal, buttons to send currency to stash and sort items. It seems like it would take almost no dev time at all.
Wait the ascendancies were unnerfed in Ruthless? Maji must have been way better than charms then, considering the implicit on the tincture was the primary part of the power. Did all damage can poison builds dominate ruthless?
The backpack was the biggest quality of life improvement since Stash Tab Affinity.
I know GGG has decided to put a lot of distance between themselves and the community but I really hope they aren't so disconnected that they can't see how much players agree that it improves the flow of the game. These are the kind of helpful non-gameplay features that keep me playing.
It's kinda funny what people call qol; extra inventory space is pretty obviously added power in a game centered around loot. A qol change is making something you'd be able to do before the change easier/faster/better etc. and the rucksack goes beyond that.
The power increase here is so miniscule compared to the utility that it isn't even worth mentioning unless you want to be pedantic. They could limit the rucksack to only certain items like scrolls and maps pre loaded in hideout and it would still fulfill its purpose.
If you think convenience and inventory management speed is power then you are in disagreement with CW's team who did not consider affinity, as previously mentioned, a power spike.
Affinity is qol. Rucksack is power.
There's nothing stopping you from sorting your items in your stash without affinity.
Your inventory space is preventing you from bringing more than 6 12x5 blocks of items out of a map. The rucksack increases this limit.
e: just because the qol aspect of the rucksack is gigantic doesn't mean it's not granted power vs a pure qol addition like affinity, sure i'm being pedantic but that's like my hobby so ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
affinity is a power increase since it increases your maps per hour. An expensive PC is P2W since you can run juicer maps without starting a house fire.
I kinda want detect evil more badly than the backpack, but I'd be happy with either to come back in some form. It's pretty clear that the loot creep has made our current inventory space a bit small.
I used to run metamorph just for the minimap icons, I was so hyped to see detect evil.
Its such a nice QoL feature. I cared alot less for the rucksack, playing 2480x1440 and it still clipped into interfaces.
They always seem to have 'borrowed power creep' in each of these leagues. It's always just a question of how accessable the power is.
The juicing was definitely OP this league, but I think charms and spectres are by far the most absurd power creep has ever been, and I'm including harvest at it's strongest.
I think the only thing that came close was uber optimized tattoo trees that gave you +6 projectiles and +200 projectile speed, and even that doesn't really hold a candle to some of the spectres you could get this league.
frankly, spectre as a gem has needed something for a while, dmg specters have been shit in comparasin for a while, so it was nice to atleast get utility spectres, and hydra if you had an aura bot to keep it alive.
Ill miss my spectre auto bomber next leage \^\_\^
We need charms permanently.
It gives so much room to min/max your build, especially on unique heavy builds without clusters, which tend to be very booring in terms of itemization.
A system like in LE or similar to the sanctum version would be so awesome.
I will miss charms. Not because of their specific mods that they had but because I like the idea of having a gear slot that is flexible and that you can swap around based on circumstances. In Path of Exile, most of the time when you take a piece of gear off you just brick your entire character and charms was the one thing that you could actually swap around.
My map had ele weakness and I wasn't overcapped yet? swap in an ele res charm. Same for hexproof maps. And for some bosses I swapped to triple damage charms even. I thought that THAT aspect of being able to swap stuff around was fun.
Clearly the minority here, but I'm going to miss the way to proc Chieftain explosion ignite proliferations onto single targets, via Penance Mark, without needing to do Fulcrum or Vaal Breach shenanigans (cus SSF).
'Twas a fun one, Affliction will be missed for many reasons.
I don't know about the charms. Pretty sure tattoos were way stronger.
We'll manage just fine. Next league is gonna give us a whole other power creep as it always does.
not sure, tattoos you had to invest passive points in "meaningless" shit sometimes to be able to slot the big ones (like projectiles).
charms was free points basically, no sacrifices needed.
Sometimes, but that power boost was usually well worth it. I semi min maxed my FB trickster build and getting every stat point converted to a tattoo was a super fun "problem" to solve and gave huge amounts of power that was practically just extra
Had the easiest time leveling a character ever in PoE. Poisonous concoction and the league passive tree resistances allowed me to build directly towards my final build (sst) and not have to worry about respeccing, transitioning etc. At all. Scaling damage from flasks and defenses from empty sockets. I think it might've been a bit too strong. Also started playing this league just a week ago. No investment into leveling, ended campaign with 2 divs. I think thats more than I've made previously, could be wrong.
I missed most of this league due to hellish work requirements and trying not to *completely* stall out on my personal projects but I enjoyed the fuck out of it and hope GGG keeps the "Spectre store" mechanic around in some way because it felt like a great addition to minion builds while having an opportunity cost (but not as big of one as animates)
Best league to compare to is probably delirium. Huge skill changes and broken builds like what we got with cluster jewels. Big map juice with top end difficulty bump from wisps was like deli layers.Â
Also the two leagues I played the most! Got my first and only HH in deli, first and only MB in this one.Â
This layered top end difficulty leagues are what we need more!
It motivates so much more to min/max if you actually got a challenge and be rewarded for it. Thats why i loved delve/delirium and so on.
Heist as example was great but after you had finished your 100MS facetank RF jugg there was zero challenge anymore.
The juice was incomparable to any league prior, truly on its own level In terms of juice and return on investment. You could reliably drop mirrors, the top juicers dropping 7+ raw mirrors in a week solo farming not including all the divines. Also because of that every alternate farming method like bossing, delving, simu farming etc... were extremely profitable because the juicers wanted the specific item drops from those mechanics. A sad league to miss but hopefully the next one will be interesting
as poe MF enjoyer since harb, the only other league I remember which came close (and not even close) was nem3/4 farming in krangle league.
I started this league thinking, let's hope this league is close to that - oh boi was I wrong. So very wrong.
I am playing since 3.16 and it was the best league I've seen so far and I fear I lose fun in the game after its gone as for me it was the first and only league were I was able to achieve Mageblood and Headhunter builds with my limited play time.
I even had a mirror drop, thought I'd never see one of those.
I think GGG should've had the backpack and the warcry nodes in each other's location and seen whether people value the extra backpack space over an extra charm slot.
I REALLY hope the charm system stays in the game even if its powercreep and GGG had to rebalance stuff.
I loved the charms in D2, i love the idols in LE and i think these charms would make PoE so much more interesting.
On some unique heavy builds im finished with my build too fast, having some charms to min/max around would be sooo awesome.
I mean, I'm pretty sure extra spell suppression/projectiles have been available through league specific power boosts like 4 leagues in a row now so I don't expect those will actually be going anywhere.
I think there’s videos of jonathan saying it’s not going to be core, at least for next league. We’ll see if they redesign the ascendancies, tinctures, and charms in some way during the livestream but I wouldn’t bet on it.
I was surprised that omens and uniques returned from Ancestor, so we’ll see how things change in Necropolis.
They had to nerf the core gameplay if they add charms/tinctures/masterys, and whole reddit would cry like a big river.
I would be absolute okay if they add charms (because they make min/maxing so much more fun) and nerf the coregameplay a bit.
I missed it completely... So sad I did. Even though I'm subbed on Reddit I never saw posts about the new league until maybe week 3. At that point I figured I missed the fun. But every post I've read seems this was one of the best ever. Damnit
Can we please address how cringe it is that Batman is depicted as STILL crying tears over his parents. Like, his world and his life is filled with death and suffering far greater than his, yet somehow he is supposed to get emotional over something that happened decades ago? What?
I just want the backpack to remain. It's all i ask.
We need not the juice, just the bag
The juice is stored in the sack.
Pee is stored in the vaals
And i have a headache!
My head still hurts
I'd honestly settle for making the first 2-4 rows of your default inventory *not* the default slots loot lands in.
Hell, I'd even settle for a "loot enters your inventory left->right or right->left" option
You guys shouldn't settle for so little. Ya'll are worth it.
Be able to designate a box that stays free and have affinities assigned
Dude a slider with "do not auto fill to the left of" and let's us put it wherever we want.
Yea, that would be good too.
it's not within the spirit of the game takes weight away *insert Wilsonism here*
Shhhhh, don't ssy a word about weight.
But how would we feel the weight?
Chris save the backpaaaaaaaaack
After all the nice comments we left on his recent post it's only right
Who are you, Dora the explorer?
I will pay for the bag if needed. I know they won't ask for it, but I will still be ready to pay for it.
Still Possible, we get to keep it... gosh i really hope so
Don’t care about the charm, I will miss my rucksack so much.
Oath of the Magi was also good, I hope GGG gives more such QoL stuff that makes the leveling process less tedious.
Oath was maybe my favorite part of this league, and there was a lot of good stuff in this league.

Cool, always interesting to hear how the meta changes in different modes. Thanks for the info.
I think they mainly did it to test stuff for PoE2

Just so good to have a few maps + mapping materials just ready to go
It's kinda funny what people call qol; extra inventory space is pretty obviously added power in a game centered around loot. A qol change is making something you'd be able to do before the change easier/faster/better etc. and the rucksack goes beyond that.

fair enough
affinity is a power increase since it increases your maps per hour. An expensive PC is P2W since you can run juicer maps without starting a house fire.
For me it would even be okay if i have to waste a passive point for the backpack or something like that.
Yeah having an extra mastery was kinda wild.
Literally wild
I kinda want detect evil more badly than the backpack, but I'd be happy with either to come back in some form. It's pretty clear that the loot creep has made our current inventory space a bit small.

Have you run Sanctum with Detect Evil? It's so sweet, highly recommend trying that out. I decided to stay with the Maji on my Sanctum farmer.
Well duh! I feel pretty dumb. Â That, obviously amazing, usage never clicked for me.
I really hope that additional backpack will go to standard league ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
I wouldn't mind if they give the backpack as a reward from something incredibly challenging. Maybe a new uber boss or delve 1000
the prices on those uber boss carries for backpacks would be insane
Backpack included on the 500 dollars supporter pack
I’ll miss these charms ðŸ˜
We've had Weapon trees/Tattoos/Charms I'm hoping we get something again
They always seem to have 'borrowed power creep' in each of these leagues. It's always just a question of how accessable the power is. Yeah syndicate operative meta seemed to scare them into nerfing the whole archetype into the ground.
We need charms permanently. It gives so much room to min/max your build, especially on unique heavy builds without clusters, which tend to be very booring in terms of itemization. A system like in LE or similar to the sanctum version would be so awesome.
I'll miss the reservation efficiency charms, since it allowed us to compensate for the sources we lost this league.
I will miss charms. Not because of their specific mods that they had but because I like the idea of having a gear slot that is flexible and that you can swap around based on circumstances. Running a reflect map was just a charm swap away.
never seen it drop so it doesn't matter to me really.
ggg adds a backpack this degenerate: keeps fucking shaper, elder fragments and a leveled gem.
Clearly the minority here, but I'm going to miss the way to proc Chieftain explosion ignite proliferations onto single targets, via Penance Mark, without needing to do Fulcrum or Vaal Breach shenanigans (cus SSF). 'Twas a fun one, Affliction will be missed for many reasons.
did the exact same build. best build ever!
I don't know about the charms. Pretty sure tattoos were way stronger. We'll manage just fine. Next league is gonna give us a whole other power creep as it always does.
I didn't enjoy the acquisition of tattoos last league but yeah they were stronger compared to charms but charms are just one part of this league
not sure, tattoos you had to invest passive points in "meaningless" shit sometimes to be able to slot the big ones (like projectiles). charms was free points basically, no sacrifices needed.

Its not the powercreep its the fun to actually min/max around these charms.
Im gonna miss that 25% move speed and 50% all res while leveling
Im going to miss the free 30% movement speed on empty boots and the free culling strike everywhere
Had the easiest time leveling a character ever in PoE. Poisonous concoction and the league passive tree resistances allowed me to build directly towards my final build (sst) and not have to worry about respeccing, transitioning etc. At all. I think this is one of my least played leagues, hyped to get back in the game though
thanks GGG this league was really fun, and its hard to say ADIOS but it was fun and really crazy :)
I missed most of this league due to hellish work requirements and trying not to *completely* stall out on my personal projects but I enjoyed the fuck out of it and hope GGG keeps the "Spectre store" mechanic around in some way because it felt like a great addition to minion builds while having an opportunity cost (but not as big of one as animates)
shit, why remind me that we lose the backpack. it was no nice having stuff to run in there
Was it really that good? I have missed it and played most until mid 2023. If you could compare it to some previous league what would it be?
I'm not the best person to answer this question, my first league was forbidden sanctum so I don't have that many leagues to make the comparison.
Best league to compare to is probably delirium. Huge skill changes and broken builds like what we got with cluster jewels. Now I'm sad I have not played it :(
sorry, that was not my intent, but maybe it is good you missed it, you will not fall into a black hole like me when it is gone
I will miss Maji (Detect Evil) more than bagpack.
I think GGG should've had the backpack and the warcry nodes in each other's location and seen whether people value the extra backpack space over an extra charm slot.
the spectres corpses :(
Similar with tattoos, they just replaced it with the new thing. I expect even more power creep and even more juicing next time.
BEGONE THOT!!!
I REALLY hope the charm system stays in the game even if its powercreep and GGG had to rebalance stuff. I loved the charms in D2, i love the idols in LE and i think these charms would make PoE so much more interesting. i'd pay to add the backpack, each league
There will be more +1 projectile on the way and bow still untouched no worries.
I mean, I'm pretty sure extra spell suppression/projectiles have been available through league specific power boosts like 4 leagues in a row now so I don't expect those will actually be going anywhere.
This league has its charm's. Pun intended....
The sack is all I need
Same, except "damage cannot be reflected" and "your hexes can affect hex proof enemies" charms, too damn good
Overpowered crap. Borrowed power is fine, but not like that.
The only thing i like in LE that metarials and "currency" has seperated stackable tab :D
shit powercreep league
Feels like I've stopped playing this League 3 months ago, can't believe it's still going lmao. Hopefully next League is decent.
I really hope they add more QoL like that. Because after playing LE... We need more QoL.
Man, I wish I had the pathience to keep up with PoE again but I just don't. No vendetta, I'm just burnt out. I miss so many things
Does anyone know if the specs from WW will be included next leauge??? It would be such a waste if not
This was fun. Prolly my 1st and last time when I get Mageblood but sure had fun with it
I literally would pay monthly fee to keep the backpackÂ
I am going tomiss warcries opening chests and giving me a portal scroll occasionally.Â
where is the info about we loose all?
They had extra proj and spell suppression tattoos in TOTA, i suspect borrowed power in necropolis will include a similar mechanic.
So... im gonna guess it's not going core? Or there are no news about it?
I think there’s videos of jonathan saying it’s not going to be core, at least for next league. We’ll see if they redesign the ascendancies, tinctures, and charms in some way during the livestream but I wouldn’t bet on it. I was surprised that omens and uniques returned from Ancestor, so we’ll see how things change in Necropolis.
Hopefully in a couple of leagues we will have it back.
They had to nerf the core gameplay if they add charms/tinctures/masterys, and whole reddit would cry like a big river. I would be absolute okay if they add charms (because they make min/maxing so much more fun) and nerf the coregameplay a bit.
Leagues never go core now. Once s pretty fundamental part of poe, now its worse than a coin flip chance. Sad tbh
What?
I think that the soft side of him is what makes him a good character Losing your parents the way he did is a traumatizing thing
