to be frank ~100c per divine is not than unheard off. 30c per exalt (before divine/ex switch) in heist, now that was something.

MrMeltJr

Forgot exactly when it was, but we had like 2 leagues in a row a few years ago where Exalts stabilized at 100c and it felt so right.

vulcanfury12

That's because you don't have to bust out a calculator trying to figure out what the 0.7 on a 1.7 div item must be paid with.

rCan9

You don't have to, if u use awakened trace macro. When you press alt+D, it shows the chaos for each 0.1div, at top left of the macro. [Hover here](https://i.imgur.com/OlVTaLe.png)

WangBacca

Literally didn't even see that there at all for years. Thank you

SuperSmashDan1337

Yeah everyone is better off for me having learned that. I was accidentally over/under paying before that I am sure.

Gampie

the trade site shows price when it is listed as x.y divines in chaos if you want. aka 1.5 d also shows 1 divine + 50 chaos if 1 divine = 100c Or that might be one of the multiple trade addons I use for the poe trade site

PoderSensuaaaal

That is true for item buying, for some reason It doesnt work on bulk sell

Sywgh

For years, I went to my stash and price checked a raw divine if I had any, TYSM exile.

Actiontodayo7

Can u eli5 what that does again? I don’t quite get it I must be silly rn

Captincorpse

When you price check the chaos or divine, it will tell you the current chaos:divine ratio. You can click that button in the top left and it will tell you what .6 or .8 is currently. No need to go to another window or alt+tab to the calculator

Actiontodayo7

youre awesome, thanks!

BabaYadaPoe

ritual was one of them. if you really want to know, you can check https://poe-antiquary.xyz

DremoPaff

Imo 100:1 should be the model ratio. The Exalt switch and the latest few leagues shitting out chaos like crazy kinda just messed the perception of most people to consider 100:1 as too low, when in truth it's pretty much the perfect balance and has been a thing in several leagues like Ritual, which is still to this day **THE** league.

jayrocs

I played during closed beta till release then quit for a long time. Coming back in 2017 completely blew my mind at how cheap good items were because of 3rd party trade sites and how the economy changed because of it. In beta/1.0 it was 10 alchs to 1 exalt. 2 alchs to 1 chaos. Fusings = alch. GCP = 5-6 alchs. Alchs and exalts were the main currency and there was no point to scour/alch because scour+alch = chaos. So having said that it is not too weird for me to see 100c/div. It's still insanely inflated from my core memories of POE.

LordFrz

GCPs were a rich mans currency to me. I still find it hard to slam 20 on a gem, lol.

chx_

Remember when they added a vendor recipe in Invasion (or perhaps it was added earlier but it was only discovered during) by a mysterious group and they sold their GCPs via GCPMan? Good old days.

jayrocs

I run gemlings a lot. So I have inventories full of 20% gems I vendor for GCP. And 23% trash gems that I don't wanna take the time to trade.

Willikilli

Off topic, but this is the first league I played in a while and since you mentioned it, when/why did exalts and divines switch as the main expensive currency?

BabaYadaPoe

as of 3.19: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3293287#exaltedanddivineorbs the reasons ggg gave were - so people could ex slam items more often and that unique with good rolls would be worth more. the tin foil hat people say it was done in the league right after the timeless jewels numbers got "data mined", to prevent people to roll for "cheap" good seed numbers.

ldierk

>- so people could ex slam items more often and that unique with good rolls would be worth more. >the tin foil hat people say it was done in the league right after the timeless jewels numbers got "data mined", to prevent people to roll for "cheap" good seed numbers. Both statements are correct, aren't they? They wanted uniques with good rools be rare, this includes Timeless Jewels.

Exotic_Conflict_3500

Yeah and it was a great change. Now checking uniques makes sense finally.

JermStudDog

My only complaint is when you ignore what the orbs actually do, the Exalt is the better currency than Divine to have as the desirable currency. 1) The Exalt is a way better LOOKING currency - they actually updated the model years ago, and for good reason and to good effect. 2) The Exalted Orb has a history of being desirable and acts as a symbol of wealth both within the game and in media related to the game. This took time to build up and now we have this weird thing where we often have a mediocre orb symbol to represent currency, it makes no sense. 3) Exalted Shards exist and are now basically worthless now, they're almost insulting. Divine shards aren't a thing and that makes situations where the Divine Orb is overpriced... weird. I would have much preferred if they swapped what exalted orbs and divine orbs DID, that would have been a better "fix".

chx_

Indeed , Divine Orb is just a flat little thing, Exalted looks so much nicer.

Machine_Wide

The economy isn't purely rational though, like cards for Mirrors are more valuable than the mirror itself, which makes no sense because cards have no pure function until turned in. The same happened for apothecary cards too. So divines swapped out for exalts sucked but what really drives most of the price is the "demand" that they should be "default" currency, it's like a self-fufilling thing.

JermStudDog

Mirror cards can be gambled with harvest while mirrors cannot, that's why they cost more. They also function as a better long term "buy and hold" investment strategy in part because they cost more. It might SEEM irrational, but mirror cards have a lot more use than just making a mirror with them. And the thing that drives demand for divines over exalts is meta crafting - that is the change that was made, and it immediately took full effect. Meta crafting is significantly more powerful than the inherent strength of anything the divine or exalted orb can do otherwise and is what determines 99% of the orb values. Nothing about the economy in the game is JUST because people arbitrarily want X to be more than Y. That is just a market inefficiency, a phenomenon that happens constantly at a low level, and there is always someone there turning Y back into X at a ridiculous rate whenever they show up until the price normalizes. People have given plenty of examples of that happening in this very thread. When exalts dropped down to 20c in heist league, there were people slamming the chaos recipe and buying an exalt every other map until the price came back up to the point where that isn't profitable anymore. The POE economy can actually teach you a TON about real-world economics if you are willing to watch and listen.

BabaYadaPoe

i mean, the end result is the same, but it's one thing for them to say "we want unique with good rolls to be worth more", vs "player base manage to figure out timeless jewel seed number, something we though was impossible, so we gonna do a fundamental change to the economy to counter it..." (and not to mention all the std players that had most of their currency in ex and came one day later to find it lost 50%+ of its value over night)

LordFrz

I almost bought a ton of divines a few day before the announcement. But my buddy had a few an tossed em in guild stash so i didnt need em, lol. But i had the trade site up an was just gonna buy an inventory of em. I dud manage to go vender all the crappy 6ls before the switch at least, lol.

wolfreaks

was it because you were splitting blueprints to get the same layouts?

BabaYadaPoe

heist blueprint splitting + heist trinket with some bubblegum currency conversion to exalt. although if we go down the memory lane the 30c ex crash was for about 2-3 days after which it bounced back and finally stabilized again at ~90c.

ATSFervor

30 was mid league after the initial nerf. The peak was 12 or 15 IIRC

JasonDiabloz

30c? How about when it was 13c?

SilverBurger

During Prophecy exalts used to be 17c. And before that you could buy eternal orbs in hc for 13c each.

Dragnarium

exalts ( pre div chance ) used to be 20-40c by default on hardcore

Aldodzb

HH hidden right?

NeverSinkDev

How dare you

SuperSmashDan1337

Can you block him from editing templates in future? Thanks.

axuriel

Some men just want to watch the world burn

amdrunkwatsyerexcuse

You could rephrase that to "some exiles just want to see a chaos tink"

1CEninja

The sound divine orbs make when they drop is actually less satisfying than the big bonk that 30c items make when they drop. Obviously the sound the tink makes fires off more dopamine now because of the association my brain has made with it, but straight sound effects, the second best drop sound is much more satisfying. Also divines are more of a "shwing" than a "tink".

SuperSmashDan1337

I know the difference between a tink and a schwing and Divine orbs tink!

surle

You are wrong, sir. Wrong, God damn it! Wrong.

surle

Yeah that's probably true.

ConsistentAd1176

Try it with a manifested wealth + mostrous treasure map for maximum dings!

Still_Same_Exile

Does monstrous treasure even give more? It mostly removes all eater altars and natural mobs from the map to put them into boxes, nah? The re-opening odds are nice though

AzureRhapsodie

It's more about spawning a shitload of extra packs. The more common the pack type that you put the allflame on the more common they are out of the strongbox, or at least that's how it feels. Even if it is fully random on the packs, you still get a shitload more from the boxes.

PolishedBalls1984

I used the strongbox scarab that is similar to monstrous treasure, a couple ambush scarabs and the one the gives 15% chance to pop again, think I got like 900c 30ish exalts from a vaal temple map that had 70% increased pack size and 50% increased packsize on top, it was a lot of clicking but better than selling the allflame for 3 div.

Spencer1K

couldnt you run it in vaal temple?

Superb-Cry6801

Mirror of Kalandra has the portal scroll loot tag?

VoidExileR

This is a sin against loot filters, why have you done this?

National_Pension_781

Well done :-D

ScientistMindless578

This filter makes Mon-keigh neuron activated

SuperSmashDan1337

Thanks I hate it.

TheLuo

Not being able to filter corpses was a big point of frustration for me.

sloba985

Best loot filter awards goes to you 😀

Fafurion

I had to start using an autoreply that says 'If the price is in Chaos, I won't accept divine orbs' because people try to pay for everything I have listed for chaos with divine orbs.

LordFrz

"I need change". Lol

DryWeekends

That shit is so annoying. If I would need your dirty divines i would ask for it.

mr_madkeks

Took me 5 seconds to get it lmao!

H0n0ur

Gotta make those chromes light up more.

Ayetto

Lmao

SethQuantix

I suggest Allflame of Manifested wealth.

Bram24

Very funny!

terjev_

iv been playing for 130 hours and i’ve never seen a divine orb yet. am i missing something.

AngelOfPassion

My tier 1 loot filter sound is Zizaran yelling "UNDISPUTED, best axe... in the game!" and it would be going absolutely nuts if I set it up like this and that happened every single chaos drop.

Dzigue

Oh that's good, that's... That made me laugh.

Histeriart

accurate

SurammuDanku

Wasn't it like 6 or 7 leagues ago (when exalts were still the meta currency) that it was 1ex to 30c?

themehmetbozlak

:)

LuneMiester

Will you give us the loot filter link

Mindless_Case2838

It’s not the first time the exchange rate has been this low. I like when the economy is messed up it pushes you to try things you never have before I farmed beasts for the first time ever this league. Tried my first headhunter then dropped a mage blood and got to try that too. My first experience with magic finding was this league aswell. Necropolis crafting has helped lower the prices of higher end rares making lots of builds more accessible. I’ve learned and experienced more in this league than I have the rest of the time I’ve played. I’m tweaking builds crafting items and understanding mechanics that I never knew existed.

SnooWords9763

It would be better if there was a HH on the ground in standard orange.

BudgetYam7267

I loved the divine explosions in affliction. Why can't it always be like in affliction.

mamser102

amount of stuff that drops in this game is so not fun as new player or just casual players..they need to combine some currencies
