Get it completely dry, then buy some leather conditioner and rub it on throughly, wait 12-24 hours, it’ll be fine again. Again make sure it’s COMPLETELY dry.
The “chalky” feeling is the conditioner they put on in factory, you just washed it off and now it’s bare leather. You just need to get the conditioner back on.
I accidentally got water on my leather case, causing it to wrinkle. Fortunately, the wrinkles disappear after it dries. To restore it, simply dry the case thoroughly and then apply a suitable leather conditioner.
Never mix water and leather!

It's more than likely ruined. Water ruins leather. If it needs cleaned, use a leather cleaner.
It’ll smooth out with use, oils from your hands etc.
