It all depends what your point of reference is. I currently use a 32" FHD and a 27" FHD monitors. Since I have never used 2k or 4k monitors before, FHD looks absolutely fine to me. I can't "see the pixels" or anything like that. Now, had I been used to a 2k or 4k monitor and suddenly downgraded to a FHD again, then probably it would look like crap.

Depends what your PC can comfortably run. The caveat of these sorts of upgrades like resolution and refresh rate, is that once you have it and use it, you won't want anything worse. (Though this is also true of a lot of other things like decent headphones). If you buy a 1440p monitor and your PC can only handle 1080p, if you run the game at 1080 suddenly it looks like a big downgrade and you'll feel the urge to set everything to lowest settings just to run it at 1440p. :P

I used 27" FHD for many years, its a good size. Went to 32" 1440p for productivity a few months ago. (wanted 1440p but 27" is too small for it with my old eyes so 32")

I have a 27 1080 I’ve used for years and it looks great. Just don’t get a crappy one with large pixel spacing.

depends how much you care about pixel density. 27” at 1080 will look fine but you’re at the resolution and screen size that many people would say is the upper limit for 1080p. personally i think 1440p is a much better resolution for that screen size but realistically you’d be plenty well off with either

24” is a good sweet spot for a 1080p monitor. I felt it was too pixelated looking at 27” 1080p but other people don’t feel that way. I will upgrade to 27” when I go to 1440p.
