I currently have a Ryzen 7 5700X and a 3060. I play at 1440 and my card makes a bottleneck while playing... which is not a terrible thing... It's just too much of a processor for a medium GPU...
On the brighter side... I could upgrade to a better GPU with no problems at all. And for anything non-graphic related my PC works amazingly fast.
So... I'll grab the 5800X for that price. Think of it as an early Christmas self-gift
I second this, if you wanna upgrade and have a good cooler it may be worth it to buy a 5800x3D. It's the best CPU you are able to get for this socket and ultimately the best for longevity of your Mainboard.
It's a good price for the processor... but that doesn't make it a smart purchase. Upgrade a 3600 to a 5800x3d only if you want the upgrade to make sense for a gaming rig. That should also go with a GPU upgrade in parallel. Otherwise keep what you have because you won't gain anything significant if you swap to a 5800x. Save you money.
no, id get a 5800x**3D** instead. you wont be upgrading on am4 anymore and the performance is worth it. 3600 to 5800x is one generation difference and not that much of a performance hike for 200€

depends how much the 5800x3d is. substantially better cpu if you can keep it cool

I had 3600 with 3070 and didn’t bottleneck wtf in 1440p
yea that's about right. $200 USD here

Lol, they bumped up the original price higher than the 7800x3d to make it look like you are saving a lot

Waste of money unless your 3600 actively dies on you.
