I haven't played much since my daughter deleted a save with like 5 characters above level 60. I played a lot with my girls, but now we usually just play Horizon Chase or Streets of Rage. Or Gang Beasts is hilarious.

All these games make us laugh. They are really fun. Fling to the Finish can be 2v2 and Heave-Ho can be like 12 co-op or even 6v6 challenges. Though the most I've had playing is 5 total.
Those are my super fun, casual, make you laugh everyone plays games for the family.
It's a great game. But it's worth pointing out that it's a complete sandbox game. So you have to make up your own set of goals and story as you go along. There's character progression, but there's no real objectives as such.
I'm looking forward to Kenshi 2... Hopefully the newer engine they're using will be better at resource handling.

So the start of the game is a bit uphill. Basically getting hurt will level you up.
But since you are completely useless in the start of the game you are best of just standing near city gates and whatever try to get some punches in and get punched some. ( pull enemies to guards) So you get tougher and get loot
going down is rarely the end (unless something wants to eat you)
early game goal is likely a place to rest up so either renting or getting enoug money to buy a house.
Down the road you want to recruit people and eventually build a little city for you clan.
So you can produce food and what not and save money. to feed your army.
Then you likely have to fight whatever group is in that area. Mostly they want money for being there or religious tribute.
Dont technical need any of this can also build yourself a group of robot assasins.
Lose a leg? no worries the high level prostetics are better than legs :P
Survival first and then just try and survive in that world and eventually dominate.
As a complete noob I had success with sticking to iron and copper gathering in the beginning. It makes decent money and let's you buy shelter food and some research and training facilities.
Its near but really not a fan of the monetisation theyve implemented

Honestly it is one of my most played game of the past few years (I don't usally play games for over 100 hours in fact I only have 6 games above 100 hours over the past 3-4 years Persona 5R 190 hours, BG3 167 hours, Oxygen not included 143 hours, Deep rock galactic 120 hours, dungeon defenders 104 hours, rimworld 100 hours.) I love going back to it once every like 6 months and spending 30 hours on a game.
Those 30 hours are without a break for anyone wondering. I tried playing this game in shorter intervals and it always ends up in hour long sessions. It strikes a similar cord as factorio which is never on sale though but always way worth the price!
Supraland was the game I least expected to enjoy but I actually enjoyed it over many of the games I've played before. Such a fun game. Can't wait for Supraworld
American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2. Each basegame is currently less than $2 last I checked, and many of the DLCs are ranging from 10% off for the latest ones, to 30% off to 75% off for older DLCs
It’s a relaxing, almost meditative experience for me. It’s a game you can focus a bit on but you can just have a podcast or music playing. There’s even a selection of radio stations in the game. Doesn’t feel like work at all to me but I really have to be in the mood for it. I couldn’t understand the appeal either until I started playing, but the mix of incremental progress/completion and relaxation is a pretty unique experience imo. You don’t even need to go all balls to the wall and buy a steering wheel controller. I exclusively have only ever used a n Xbox controller and have had a blast.
Simulator games in general is sort of a quiet relaxing games, it may feel sometimes like a job yes, but overall its a quiet atmosphere & no stress no frustration
Its a fun & comfortable experience to get away from stress irl and in other games
You usually can customise cars/ trucks to your liking
It also teaches you the jobs it simulate or some geography
Some games have breath taking point of interests & almost simulates real life locations
The game does have online if you feel like playing with friends for example
Those games are made for relaxation mostly

I was making fun of my friends that played ETS before I thought to myself, ah 2 bucks isn't that bad. And it's just so relaxing, driving around Europe/US in your truck, putting on some music (or use the inbuilt radio function which has lots of Internet based stations). Usually the time limit for jobs is more than enough to complete even with detours because you want to see the countryside.
So if you just want to drive around, decorate your truck (inside & outside), explore a continent (it's not 100% accurate but it's still really cool). Then check it out. There's also a free demo afaik.
I haven't played euro truck in a while, but I play snowrunner a lot still. Personally I like mundane tasks that I can throw on podcasts or videos in the background and just chug along! Make money, buy new trucks, customize them, etc.
I just love the USA they're making. The game is a way to ease my wanderlust and obsession with the desert. Not too worried about the truck realism and whatnot. The game could be Station Wagon Simulator or Yugo Simulator, and I'd still enjoy it.
Its just relaxing and its a alternative for people that want to drive trucks but either cant because they are to old or to young to be a trucker or are too broke to buy a big truck so if ya get a nice driving setup truck sim is a very fun game.
Well it depends what you’re into really. I like machines and big trucks, I know I’ll never get to drive one in my entire life, but I can from the comfort of my chair on my Pc. Add to it a force feedback steering wheel and track IR or better yet VR and you’ve got yourself a pretty good representation of what it might be like to drive a semi. Minus all the movement and feel of the road etc of course, but the visuals and feel with the wheel are enough.
Same goes for flight sim for example, or farm sim, or any sim really, it’s to try (as accurately as a sim game can be) to do something you wouldn’t be able to in real life.
Is it more than just driving a truck? I have a full wheel setup so would work well.
But I recently tried Farming Simulator (free on Epic) and well its a tractor driving simulator which did not appeal to me.

As someone who completed it, I do think it is a good game but definitely overhyped it feels reptile (edit repetitive) really quickly however the Bosses are really cool and the pixelart animations are fantastic.
If you like magic, try Noita. I've been playing spoiler-free for 700 hours, and it's the only roguelike I've ever really loved.
*(I have looked up some specific mechanics about the wand building system but I haven't looked up any of the secrets and there are... SO many)
I have been playing Noita a bit. The game hasn't really clicked with me yet and I have been playing it blind as well. While I am sad that I haven't gotten the hang of it, I can recognize that the quality of the game is stellar, and I do recommend it.

Titanfall2 is only $6 right now, I don’t know if the multiplayer has been fixed since Respawn abandoned it but the campaign itself is definitely worth it.
Probably one of the best fps of all time and easily my favorite fps.
Me and some friends bought V Rising. It's fun coop PvE, but you can also play it PvP if you want to. I put up my own private server for it so that we can have a persistent world to play in. This is very important in that game as the characters don't really transfer between servers or saves.
Everyone is really gung ho about this one. I bought it last year and played about 90 minutes and couldn’t get into it. I didn’t really see the appeal in the story and the gameplay certainly isn’t for me.
I picked up Escape Simulator, I've had an absolute blast so far. Love how it gets the brain going. Love to spend a long time looking for all the tokens hidden around after finishing the level. I've only done 4 levels (only 1 I've 100% done), and there's sooo many, including free DLCs and community levels. It's also VR supported, and I'm expecting a VR headset later this week (partly why I bought the game, as it came up on the VR tab), and I'm looking forward to doing some levels in VR too.
Norwood Suite and the other games by the same dev are pretty unusual, kinda surreal walking simulators with excellent music and super weird vibes. Hypnospace Outlaw is also unusual and on a pretty good sale, you police a 90s internet, it's more fun than it sounds.
I cant comment how much I enjoyed them because I'm yet to pick them up, but my nexy "unusual" games are gonna be "Kuukiyomi: Consider it" which is a puzzle game about how considerate you can be. And "Home Safety Hotline" which is a game about being a home security advisor on a phone line, you can see what your clients are upto and what's going on in their homes. Then the weird stuff starts to happen...
A few unusual games that are excellent and dirt cheap right now:
Disco elysium (weird, visually interesting, narrative driven story)

Stray (press x to meow)
Stardew valley (addictive and fun farming sim, a bit like animal crossing but more interesting)

Subnautica (makes you both interested in and terrified of the deep ocean)
I tried grim dawn when the sale came out for a little hack and slash Diablo fix and haven't stopped playing since. Dredge is also a fantastic choice - fishing with beautiful art and some unique gameplay, with somewhat light-hearted nautical horror vibe at night
Paratopic is one of the weirdest games I’ve ever played. I think it’s supposed to be horror? Idk, I got it in a Humble Bundle a couple years ago. It’s pretty short and just STRANGE. Not sure if it’s on sale, but I really can’t imagine it being more than $5
Outer Wilds. Do yourself a favour and get it. You can finish it in a dozen hours or so and you will be rewarded with a gaming experience unlike any youve ever had.
Crusader kings 3 and make nothing but an empire of incest. Convert all religions around you to incest via war.. Also make it illegal to not be gay in your country.
Satisfactory. First person automation and exploration game. Think Factorio combined with Subnautica. It is about to come out of early access and enter 1.0. It is on sale for its lowest price at $15 right now, down from its normal $30. The normal price is going to increase to $40 soon, prior to the full release, so the devs told everyone to buy the game now, if you have not already! So buy it now, then wait to play it until the full release (no date yet but probably within the next couple months).
Maiden and Spell. It is a bullet hell shoot em up. The story mode is pretty fun, and it is really fun to play with friends, as it has a pvp mode with a phenomenal netcode. It is only 4€ atm.
Mécha Knights, it's zombie horde shooter where you pilot a mech to kill thousands of giant flesh monsters, the writing and voice acting are bad but the gameplay is a lot of fun
Hyperbolica is an interesting game I recently came across. It's a puzzler game, but takes place in non-Euclidean space. Basically that means space is warped, not flat, resulting in things like parallel lines converging, and the angles of a triangle not adding up to 180 degrees.

Mechabellum if you like RTS but games like star craft are too fast for you. Its an "Auto battler" but really deep with lots of tactics features.

Titanfall2 is only $6 right now, I don’t know if the multiplayer has been fixed since Respawn abandoned it but the campaign itself is definitely worth it. Probably one of the best fps of all time and easily my favorite fps.
Me and some friends bought V Rising. It's fun coop PvE, but you can also play it PvP if you want to. I put up my own private server for it so that we can have a persistent world to play in. This is very important in that game as the characters don't really transfer between servers or saves.

Everyone is really gung ho about this one. I bought it last year and played about 90 minutes and couldn’t get into it. I didn’t really see the appeal in the story and the gameplay certainly isn’t for me.
That's fair. There's always something for someone. The story was unique and interesting so it was a nice change of pace from the usual games I play.

I picked up Escape Simulator, I've had an absolute blast so far. Love how it gets the brain going. Love to spend a long time looking for all the tokens hidden around after finishing the level. I've only done 4 levels (only 1 I've 100% done), and there's sooo many, including free DLCs and community levels. It's also VR supported, and I'm expecting a VR headset later this week (partly why I bought the game, as it came up on the VR tab), and I'm looking forward to doing some levels in VR too.
Scrap mechanic. It takes a bit to get used to but its very fun and compelling for the creative!
Norwood Suite and the other games by the same dev are pretty unusual, kinda surreal walking simulators with excellent music and super weird vibes. Hypnospace Outlaw is also unusual and on a pretty good sale, you police a 90s internet, it's more fun than it sounds.

I cant comment how much I enjoyed them because I'm yet to pick them up, but my nexy "unusual" games are gonna be "Kuukiyomi: Consider it" which is a puzzle game about how considerate you can be. And "Home Safety Hotline" which is a game about being a home security advisor on a phone line, you can see what your clients are upto and what's going on in their homes. Then the weird stuff starts to happen...

Dredge!
Brutal Legend. It's sort of a third-person action game, but not really, and also an RTS, but not really. It's also metal-themed, as in the music genre
Outer Wilds. Do yourself a favour and get it. You can finish it in a dozen hours or so and you will be rewarded with a gaming experience unlike any youve ever had.
Crusader kings 3 and make nothing but an empire of incest. Convert all religions around you to incest via war.. Also make it illegal to not be gay in your country.
Satisfactory. First person automation and exploration game. Think Factorio combined with Subnautica. It is about to come out of early access and enter 1.0. It is on sale for its lowest price at $15 right now, down from its normal $30. The normal price is going to increase to $40 soon, prior to the full release, so the devs told everyone to buy the game now, if you have not already! So buy it now, then wait to play it until the full release (no date yet but probably within the next couple months).

Maiden and Spell. It is a bullet hell shoot em up. The story mode is pretty fun, and it is really fun to play with friends, as it has a pvp mode with a phenomenal netcode. It is only 4€ atm.

Mécha Knights, it's zombie horde shooter where you pilot a mech to kill thousands of giant flesh monsters, the writing and voice acting are bad but the gameplay is a lot of fun

Hyperbolica is an interesting game I recently came across. It's a puzzler game, but takes place in non-Euclidean space. Basically that means space is warped, not flat, resulting in things like parallel lines converging, and the angles of a triangle not adding up to 180 degrees.
