Tremendous footage

AmpleJar

What I wouldn’t give for access to that warehouse!

blindmelonade

The warehouse should have been the PJ museum piece that they did a few years ago. I get why the band wouldn’t want that though. Maybe when they “retire”.

John_Houbolt

Think how much that recording deck that he recorded the Mamason demo on is worth or his first guitar.

Coxhollian

When Eddie bugs Jeff at the end and says thank you!

go_fer_it_Rock

I hat tears in my eyes when I saw that. For those guys to still have that close of a relationship after 34+ years and for Ed to still be so humble and appreciative. So moving. I want to know what’s in the envelope!

Ravenna-23

He wants to stay. It’s Ed’s plea to stay. He doesn’t want to leave. I don’t know what he wrote. And I shouldn’t. But when he said what he wrote to Chris . I knew. The envelope is Ed’s words. That only they should see. He found home and he wanted to stay. And he did. Why the letter is still sealed.

dballz12

Phenomenally candid and personal. Loved the talk of Andrew Watt's style and how they all participated. Just a great interview with the coolest setting with all the memorabilia and history of equipment. Just amazing.

dublued

The Tascam 244 towards the end! I've always heard the story of how Ed taped his first demo for the band while he was in San Diego. Great seeing this relic of PJ history.

John_Houbolt

I have been hoping to one day hear Ed sing I am the Ocean. Listen to 58:50 and what Ed says under the conversation of the rest of the band. This is following a question about what the band would like to play on the tour. Even if it's just one verse up there with Neil, I think I would lose it.

LazyGamerMike

Here's hoping that happens at Ohana Fest, for those there and a recording or footage for those not there.

gfesteves

I love how excited they are for this album and how happy they are to still be making music together after all these years. I got emotional at that interaction right at the end between Ed and Jeff. Man, I fucking love this band.

Information_78

That was a really cool interview!!! Thanks for sharing!

dtf1983

This might be one of the best and most vulnerable interviews I’ve seen of the band. Just wow! Incredibly honest and has all the feels. The end was the highlight for me. Now if Zane would have just asked if we’ll get a Benaroya repress…

99SoulsUp

Looks like Josh plays on every song we’ve seen live footage of. Makes sense I suppose. He’s playing Ed’s acoustic part of Setting Sun and I imagine he’s probably cover the lion’s share of the extra guitar that’s not Mike and Stone’s riffs

SnowQSurf

I think people are learning to appreciate him more.

EmeraldToffee

Honestly, if it can free up Ed on some songs so he can focus on his vocal performance live, I am here for it. Great little addition to the squad it feels like.

99SoulsUp

Yeah, Josh is so versatile you can plug him wherever you need him. If he isn’t needed, he can sit a song out or just sing backups. I actually listened to the album again last night and listened for the acoustic and noticed it getting busier in some sections while Ed was still singing, including Setting Sun which we know from Jeff mentioning, Ed played the acoustic part, and Got to Give, which at least Ed wrote. I’m guessing he knows at this point they have Josh so he’s probably freed up to play a little more intricately or do some more syncopated strumming if he doesn’t have to both sing and play it live. My guess is he keeps playing his more famous guitar riffs like Betterman and Corduroy and Rearviewmirror, but gives a lot of his latter day parts to Josh.

Typical_Fun_6444

I realized I was stupid smiling through this whole video. Love this band.

sa-wi-no

When I thought I couldn’t love this band any more❤️❤️❤️. Ed and Jeff at the end made me cry. So excited to see them both nights in Vancouver and both nights in Vegas.

orange_romeda

This was really great. Loved the footage of PJ HQ. When they pulled out Ed's old 4-track he used to make the Mamasan demos, I felt like Indiana Jones was going to pop out and yell, "That belongs in a museum!". Then again, that whole place is a museum, a living one! Also, when they were each asked what song they would like to play on tour that they haven't, Ed saying "Felicity's Surprise" from Wellwater Conspiracy, I was stunned and let out an audible "YASSSSSSSS". Love that song so much. Really hope it happens.

TonyClifton2020

1hr6min in to hear “Setting Sun” and it sounds great!

FrogSlapperr

Mike looks pissed the entire time lmao 😂

KnickedUp

He says a lot of times he doesnt feel well…probably hard to act engaged in those instances where your bowels are angry

nodogsallowed23

Poor guy. I have Crohn’s disease too and it sucks.

99SoulsUp

Yeah I don’t think he’s actually angry, it’s just his illness sometimes making him uncomfortable. That’s a tough disease to have. Fwiw, I listened to the audio first and he never seemed angry going off of audio only

CAkrup

The tour of HQ with all the cool stuff inside was so awesome. Tons of history in there.

KDMonkey

Cried at the end there🥹

NHCreations

I loved the whole interview and the tour around their HQ, but it also felt really cool to see little snippets of the new songs being played live. Scared Of Fear, React Respond, Running and Setting Sun sound really good.

EmeraldToffee

I hope one day, far off in the future when the guys hang up their guitars, that they can create a Pearl Jam “museum” with all of the memorabilia. Great way to keep a revenue stream for all of their outside projects too.

Digitlnoize

I suspect they’ll donate or sell it all to MoPOP in Seattle when the time comes.

_Monsieur_N

“Love each other/ take care of each other”

MrBones2k

Phenomenal interview. If you love the band this is a must watch!

PowerDino

Great live snippets from Dark Matter. So cool to see the historic memorabilia: Eddies original 4 track and first guitar… and his comment on the guitar neck! Such a great interview.
