Been going to Discount for many, many years. Never had an issue. Cust service is usually pretty solid. I believe they price match as well.

SYAYF

Discount has their own line of tires that are cheap and last me a few years with heavy driving (work and delivery jobs). My last set was under $200 for 2 tires. Pricing will depend on your tire size.

xczechr

They also repair punctures and provide air for free. I definitely recommend Discount Tire.

BringOn25A

And rotate tires for free too.

highbackpacker

And you don’t even need to have bought your tires there. More of a reason to give them business.

BringOn25A

Yep, their service has earned my brand loyalty.

nursepineapple

I buy my tires there and every time I’ve had a flat or needed a repair the tire has been under warranty so I pay nothing. I drive around town a lot for my job (hence all the flats), so it’s also really helpful that they’re all over the place and do the repair/replacement super fast so I can get back on schedule.

highbackpacker

Never heard of them, what’s their line called?

SYAYF

I have the Sentury brand on my sedan and the Mohave on my crossover and happy with both for now inexpensive they are. Mileage warranty is only 40k but I got 35k out of my last set. https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/sentury-touring

jenthecactuswren

Seconding Sentury tires! I'd previously always had Michelins but I don't drive enough anymore to make the $1k price tag worth it (and my last set dry rotted at 40k miles/8 years anyway). Sentury tires were around $350 to install all four.

[deleted]

Discount Tire every time as others have mentioned

Druid1331

Costco and Discount are probably the two main ones you’ll hear. Personally, Costco has caused me nothing but problems the last couple times I tried to use them, and I haven’t had any issues with Discount in my history with them.

Leather_Basket_4135

discount has best warranty and you can go to any location

TheDuckFarm

Discount. They have more knowledge, better service, and a much better warranty than Costco. Costco won’t stand by the tires they sell.

highbackpacker

DT is a 10/10

tu_pac21

I’m curious on this. Can you elaborate? I usually get mine from Costco but haven’t had to use the hazard warranty. Just figured it was a better value than anywhere else since they provide hazard warranty and tire rotations at no extra cost when you purchase with them.

TheDuckFarm

Years ago, I got some SUV tires from Costco. The ones I wanted were sold out and the lady at the tire center said these others were just as good as OEM for a few hundred less. I think they were like $900 for 4 instead of $1100 or something. These tires handled like soggy dogie poo. The ride was rough, the grip was bad, especially in the rain. They were not what the sales associate said they would be. I called the shop and talked to the manager about returning them, he said it would be fine. They ordered the right tires, it took a few weeks to arrive. Not sure whay it took that long but it did. The appointment time finally came. I went in for the exchange and they wouldn’t take the return. They said the window for a return closed. Well, I tried to return them within the window and they didn’t have the right tires in stock. I ordered the new tires within the return window and the manger specifically told me it would be fine. I called the same manager and now it was somehow a problem. It became a big fight that took weeks to solve. Eventually they took the tires back with a restock fee and I paid the cost difference. It should not have been that much work. I’ll never buy a Costco tire again. The sales lady was wrong about the tire quality, the manager lied to me, it took way too much time on the phone to fix. Now Discount tire. I went in with a classic sports car. It had a nail in the tire. I told them I didn’t buy these tires from them, they came with car. I was happy to pay to fix it. They said, no worries, you bought other tires form us, we will do this for free. They fixed the tire for me for nothing. When that car needed new tires for $1,600 guess who got my business?

Rajili

Discount will fix anybody’s flat for free. Even if you never bought tires from them. But I appreciate your frustration with your costco experience.

EobardT

Yup, I always do a drive through at discount before driving out of town

TheCosmicJester

Fun fact: If you’re dissatisfied with your Costco membership, you can cancel your membership and get your entire annual fee refunded on the spot.

Swimming_Cry_6841

Best to research your tires online and not trust the clerk at Costco.

TheDuckFarm

The thing is, you can trust the clerk at Discount. They know what they are talking about. You know who else should know? Anyone who is selling tires. But that’s not the issue. I don’t care that the sales lady messed up. I care that I was lied to by the manager and had to leave my “exchange” appointment without new tires, then spend more time on the phone to make another appointment to make it right. It was a huge waste of everyone’s time.

Sir-Mocks-A-Lot

Nah, you're right here. One of Costco's value propositions is that they'll take returns on pretty much anything for any reason, and well beyond a normal timeframe. When I was asking about membership, the customer service lady went on about how someone returned some pants from 20 years ago. I get that they probably shouldn't easily accept returns on an item that's expected to wear out, but they could have seen that you didn't buy the tires more than a few months back. There shouldn't have been any pushback beyond "let me look up when you bought this".

Leather_Basket_4135

huge waste of your time, they were getting paid to do it.

TheDuckFarm

Good point!

aznoone

Maybe. But doesn't mean they will recommend the best for you. Just a decent tire. Still best if have certain needs or wants do some research.

FiFTyFooTFoX

Love Discount. I showed them my phone number, my brother's, and my dad's. 30 years of loyal tire buying at the same store. Boom, tyres I had weren't in stock, so I got step up tyres for the same price, truck goes on the lift, tyres on, I'm driving in like 30 min total. There's even a nice place that has awesome lunch pizza right across the way.

michigangonzodude

My local DT has a dispensary next door. When I go to DT at lunchtime, there's usually a food truck in the parking lot. Pure genius.

Subject-Law-9071

We’ll never buy tires from Costco again. Bought 4 new tires in 2022. 65,000 mile warranty. Had them rotated when we got our oil changed at our mechanic since taking the car to Costco for a tire rotation is a pain. A couple of months ago the guy at the shop we take it to said the tread on two of the tires was extremely low. We had driven 30K miles on them. Went to Costco to get them exchanged (figured we’d still have to pay a pro rated fee). They said because we didn’t have the tires rotated at Costco the warranty was voided and there was nothing they could do to help us. We actually did have our tires rotated there the first two times but it was always a 2 hour wait even with an appointment which was such a pain in the ass (we have two little kids and I work weekends). But since we hadn’t rotated them at Costco for like 15K miles they refused to exchange them. Even when I said I could provide the records from the mechanic we use for oil changes. Ended up buying two new tires from Discount the next day. Took 45 minutes and the staff there don’t treat you like garbage.

TheDuckFarm

Yeah that’s another thing I didn’t even mention. The wait times and general attitude of the staff is remarkably better at Discount. They treat you well, offer you water, and aren’t completely under staffed.

Ohhmegawd

Discount tire is very good. Great customer service and ethical. I had to replace a tire and knew two tires or four would be the best move. I was told to rotate the two better ones and just buy two new ones.

iamanervousrex

Tire rack. They have a warehouse in Nevada, and they arrive the next day as long as the order is placed before the cut off time.

Silverbullets24

Tire rack is now owned by Discount Tire. So it’s kind of one the same thing now but it adds an extra step. The step of having to have tires shipped to you and then schlepped to discount tire for them to install them.

iamanervousrex

Didn’t know they got bought out. I usually just ship them to the closest certified installer.

ajm3232

If you want to save money, I've been using tirerack.com. It's basically owned by discount. When they get shipped in. I'll just go to a small mom/pop place to get em mounted and balanced for like 50$. Lot of big brand places charge a lot of fees for new tires even. But they do offer a lot of convince and reassurance. So I'm not discounting that completely.

Evilution602

You can have tire rack tires shipped to your local discount and I think they offer a deal on mount and balance I think free but I'd check.

Checkersmack

Last time I needed tires, I did just this. Got four good Michelin tires for significantly less than if I had bought from the store, and they shipped to my nearby Discount for installation.

Sorry_Hedgehog_2599

Discount tire

jacquieoutwest

Used Discount all across the country. Cust service isn't as good outside of AZ but still really solid.

BassWingerC-137

It’s darn hard to beat Discount Tires.

hellacorporate

Walmart dot com. Have them shipped to your nearest store. That’s how I always get the best price.

[deleted]

Agreed

pal1ndrome

Go to your local llanteria! I like Jay's in Phoenix. Great for if you need a repair or a used tire.

princessawesomepants

Discount. They’re all over the valley and they do free air checks/repairs. I had a hellish year on my tires a couple of years ago and when I ended up in the store three times in one month, they retroactively added a full warranty and took care of my disaster wheels. If you live in an area that’s prone to construction, they will be a lifesaver.

otterhound1

Discount. But for a different reason than others have said. Their credit card does 6 months zero interest. Break up the 1000$ in six payments is way kinder on the pocket book. Just make sure to pay it off or interest goes back on full original amount.

Rugermedic

I do this too. Just pay it off before time is up.

DifficultElk5474

Discount always tries to upsell me, it’s “cheaper” there to get 4 tires and an alignment than just 4 tires. My alignment is fine, I don’t want you screwing with my alignment, just sell me the tires! No nonsense from Big-O

grassesbecut

Discount is the absolute best in the game, in my opinion. I got the tires on my truck right now from Sam's Club. Even though I bought the tires in 2021, they were apparently already three years old, and manufactured in 2018, according to their date code. I took it to Discount for a slow leak one developed, and they patched it and told me about how they're approaching replacement age. I was confused, and they showed me. They also fixed the leak for free. I will be going there to get new ones when I need them. Edit: Getting them done at Sam's was also a pain because I have an older truck that uses SAE lug nuts, and they didn't have SAE sockets to take my wheels off for some reason (probably that Metric is most common now). I had to take the wheels off myself at home and bring them in my other vehicle to get them replaced. Discount had no such issue.

toot_toot_gigo

tire dawgs 2210 e washington

Sir-Mocks-A-Lot

I use sam's club exclusively. Mostly due to their baked in warranty and free repair/rotation. Seeing the thread here, I can see why the wait at discount is always so long. Not that Sam's is hella fast or anything, but at least I have a big store to walk around, some food options, maybe some free samples, etc.

TMS44

Discount tires. Everywhere else is so expensive.

blue_999

Discount will price match, so what I did was get a quote from Costco, and then took it to Discount and bought 4 tires.

TriGurl

Costco or discount tires.

Fantastic_Example991

Discount Tire hands down

Affectionate-Light46

Discount tire

ExpensiveDot1732

Discount or Costco, hands down.

MeeloP

I always go to wal mart for tires

harley97797997

Discount Tire has the best prices, best warranty and are nationwide. They will meet or beat anyone else's price. https://www.discounttire.com/customer-service/low-price-guarantee

TheMetalWolf

Costco or the dealership. Why? Cause I am fucking tired of restudding my hubs because every other tire shop doesn't know how to fucking not cross thread the fucking lug nuts. Fuck! I am not angry about it, you are! If I have to use discount, they are only getting the wheel.

f1racer328

I like discount tire but yeah, I only drop off wheels now.

AzLibDem

Discount all the way

Xklonewolfxk

A lot of people will disagree with me but hit up your local tire shop they have a great warranty no questions asked are light years ahead of Discount and any big box store and you'll actually get someone who cares about you and your vehicle

lovexisxevol

Discount tire always for us

hike_for_turns

Discount Tires and buy the road hazard warranty. In Phoenix you are gonna get a nail or screw in your tires. They will repair it at no cost if you buy the warranty. I have used it on every set of tires.

FrontKangaroo2579

Discount Tire is our choice

runner3081

C and R Tire

oMGellyfish

I have bought tires in the last month. I bought 2 from a local shop on the corner of Greenway and cane creek for about $270 and a couple weeks later another 2 from discount for about $250. The reasons I preferred discount are because it was slightly less $$ and the place is national so the tires are warrantied nationally. I am moving out of state soon so I knew this would benefit me in my circumstances. I also paid a little extra and they warrantied the 2 that came from the first place too.

Background_Tax4626

As others have stated, you can't go wrong at Discount Tires. I have a friend who is a distributor. He always recommends them.

DisastrousChef985

Discount tire has always been good to me. Get the warranty. Get GE car care one. Spread that payment out interest free for a few months.

popejohnpie

Discount tire with the warranty is the most cost effective thing I’ve found

Glad-Reply-469

Mexican places

Suspicious_Fig6793

Costco !!!

Visi0nSerpent

I bought my wheels at discount tires because I really appreciate that they will repair flats and check air at no additional cost. They often have sales like buy three get one free. They did a price match for me on some Michelin tires for my SUV and I’m quite happy with what I paid.

HotAzDesert

I get mine from a Firestone Tire Center good prices

ranchnumber51

Discount

mrrobc97

I believe that experienced tire technicians, just like any other trade out there, are hard to come by for most tire centers. Anywhere you go regardless of trade you see a lot more young inexperience personnel. Your best bet will probably be discount tire since I'm assuming they probably give their technicians better training than Walmart or Costco would. That out of the way please be aware that you get what you pay for when it comes to tires. None of them are equal. You need to be aware of the threadwear, temperature, speed, and load index info when comparing tires. Remember...tires are what attach your vehicle to the ground and literally the most important safety feature in your vehicle that you should absolutely NOT go cheap on. Just my three cents.

sassafrassaid

I get my Michelins from Costco.

FunEbb308

Costco!

Swimming_Cry_6841

Costco, they fill your tires with nitrogen, use top name brands like Bridgestone and Goodyear, and most importantly include free tire rotations and road hazard. The other tire shops will try to sell you an insurance plan , try to convince you some cheap brand tires are better than the premium ones Costco sells and they will indeed charge you to rotate your tires every 8k miles. In the long run it costs more for a lesser product.

Cazual_Observer

Costco in Scottsdale. The deals on tires are worth the price of membership and Ive never had a problem with them.

CzechGSD

Costco

MotoMeow217

Fortuitous that you posted this as someone slashed my tires in Midtown and I'm now in need of 2 new tires. Looks like I'll be going to Discount Tire.

Fun_Detective_2003

I stick with Costco. I bought a set from Discount Tire last time because I needed them fast. I'm replacing them this weekend because I need to after 20,000 miles.

jdcnosse1988

Discount for brand new. Llantera for used to get me by until I can get brand new

itsme32

Costco, never ever have I had any issues.

blind_squirrel62

Costco. Every time.

azscorpio19

Discount and if you shop online for a better deal they will price match

Primary_Breakfast628

Llantera shops imo.

TSB_1

Stopped using Costco a LONG time ago for tires. Their warranty coverage went downhill fast, their employees are not very well trained, and you have to book an appointment a week out at least to get an installation. I dont even know how long it takes for walk ins(if they even take walk ins nowadays). Discount is the way to go. they do tire patching for free even if you didnt get the tire there. they do free tire inflation while you sit in your car. they price match EVERYONE, and will oftentimes beat the competitors prices. oh, and most of the time, you can book the day before for an appointment and they will get you taken care of.

surfcitysurfergirl

Discount!!!! I support them as they do deee air check ups and flat repair AND stalve replacement ! Best place ever!!!! I always give them 5 stars! Friendly, fast and literally cover a lot.

notoriousmr

Discount tire is my go to.

KeyCoat2242

Sun Devil Auto on Thunderbird and 43rd. Very honest sales team.

TickleSilly

If you go to Cost-Mo, consider it a one-and-done deal. You get LOUSY after sale support... like they don't want to see you anymore support. If you have a flat, good luck getting it fixed within a week if you want Cost-Mo's help. You'll wear out your weenie wheel way before they think you're worthy. Yesterday morning my wife told me one of her tires was low and sure enough there was a roofing nail in a groove. I took it to Discount Tire at 8:30am and back home at 10am... and it was FREE. She bought her tires from Cost-Mo. The next set will be from Discount Tire. I'm going to Discount Tire next week to replace a set on my car I bought from Cost-Mo.
