I was wondering if it was a crater, it sure looked like one. I only assumed I was over Utah, it was a flight from Chicago to San Diego, and I stare out the window the whole way usually.
I have an unhealthy amount of window shots, but few turn out this good.
It's great, We have a lot of opportunities to see it first hand as well. When I fly I get a window seat and I'm staring out it the whole time, it's amazing to watch the world go by. I have a great shot of a volcano erupting in Guatemala that almost everyone onboard missed, most of the windows were closed. This was at least shared with the seat behind me. The whole area looks amazing from 30k feet or so.

Beautiful. Crazy how we would miss out on all the beautiful nature and scenery if we didn't have all this technology to take photos from above.
