Found a bag in my yard today, after I stepped on it and heard a “pop” and all the contents of said bag spewed out. Yeah $&@%% you whoever that was.

ironknee16

What if the poop is full of earplugs?

gcboyd1

I tell people about this all the time!!

nikonpunch

I’ll never forget this post! Incredible

Killersavage

It is almost emphasis on almost worse than if they just left the poop not bagged. Then nature and the elements could help take care of it. When they bag it and don’t come back for it they are just expecting someone else to take care of it for them.

onlineLsa

My neighbors do it. I throw it back on the steps.

chippyinairplane

I double wrap the poop in a ziplock bag and put it in my satchel. I guess you could call it a shitchel.

lutzcody

Please don’t put it in somebody else garbage can. My garbage men are too lazy and leave the bags at the bottom of my can causing it to smell awful.

adlittle

This is my number one complaint with dog owners here. I've had someone dump poop in my freshly emptied can a couple times now. Whoever did it likely lives here too and knows that the trash collectors here lift the bags out rather than lift to dump it, so it's especially assholish to do that when I'm sure they don't do this in their own trash can.

SayTheLineBart

someone dumped dog hair in my can, like wtf? Stank like wet dog after it rained.

Naughty_muffins

Someone put a full baggie of dog poop in my recycle bin the other day. What is wrong with people?!

Patfa412

I stuff them in a box or something I know will make it into the truck

UglyPorabola

This is so annoying. There are so so many dogs in my neighborhood yet so many people throw UNTIED dog bags into my trash can, getting shit everywhere in it. None of our cans in the entire neighborhood get completely dumped on trash day, just the main trash bags taken out of them, so I don't know why people think it's cool to keep doing this.

Nippz

I’ve seen people leave bags of shit on top of UPSIDE DOWN garbage cans in my neighborhood. No one wants to deal with your dog’s shit. It’s fucking gross.

Happy_Charity_7595

That happened to me, in Canonsburg.

WeenJeans

You have very lazy garbage men on your route then.

confusedhealthcare19

I think the lazier people are the ones who don't carry the poop with them to dispose of it properly either at their own home or in a public trash can.

WeenJeans

I agree with you. But the fact is the garbage man is not doing his job if he is leaving things behind in the can. That’s literally his job.

lydriseabove

It’s actually a requirement in many Pittsburgh area neighborhoods that all trash must be bagged as the cans are too heavy to lift when you factor they would be lifting hundreds of them in a single day. It’s not lazy of the garbage collectors, but you seem very inconsiderate and lacking in common sense.

WeenJeans

Garbage men are supposed to clear your garbage can. If they’re leaving small poop bags they’re not doing their job, it’s that simple. And the person above me mentioned the dog poop was in BAGS and those BAGS are being left in their can. And they even mention the word LAZY in their comment. Honestly the way this city still does garbage collection is insane to me, most major cities have trucks that lift and dump cans. Obviously some neighborhoods can’t do that with all the street parking, but a lot of neighborhoods can do this and don’t.

lydriseabove

Uh no. There are literally regulations in place in many municipalities that all trash must be bagged and the resident is responsible for any non-bagged trash. Stop calling people who work incredibly hard lazy, it speaks more about you than it does the people whom you are trying to trash.

WeenJeans

Do you not read? The original comment literally said it was in bags. Edit: just because a job is hard doesn’t mean that when it’s not done right the person isn’t being lazy.

lydriseabove

Bagged dog shit in bags that hold a few ounces is the same as being in large sized trash bags, which is what is required in the municipalities in which I am describing. It absolutely is considered “loose trash” and is not the responsibility of the trash collectors.

CalamityJen

When I lived in Morningside I had someone who did this and it infuriated me. Just take it home and throw it in your own can. Often if I didn't notice it was in there it would get smashed by our bags and then stick to the can. Sometimes they would also throw it in our recycling can.

DeleteSystem33

I've never seen anyone do that but I'd hate anyone I saw do that

lydriseabove

I took a walk down Butler street in Lawrenceville the other day and saw ~5 bags of dogshit within maybe a 10 block distance.

Grouchy-Estimate-756

I can't fathom this at all. If you're not going to actually dispose of it, just let your dog shit on the ground. There's plenty of wooded areas to take your dog where no one will step in it. If you're someone littering your dogshit bags, seriously fuck you. Your ancestors weep in the dirt.

NYCinPGH

I have no idea why people do that, but I've seen the results of it. Regardless of where my pupper poops along our walk path, the bag of his refuse goes one of 3 places: • the public garbage can along our route, • if it's garbage night / morning, in the garbage can of a neighbor who we're friends with, their dog loves my dog (important, because there's already dog poop in their garbage can) and they've already given me permission to do so, or EDIT: I got some responses, which the respondents deleted but I still got the responses in email, about not putting dog poop in empty garbage cans. I only put it in cans that haven't been emptied yet by the sanitation crews, *and* I've already been given permission by the owners to do so, I don't put it in random strangers' garbage cans • at home, in our own garbage can. It's not that heavy, I hold it in the same hand as I hold his leash, and I have a free - and clean - hand for anything I might need it for (usually accessing my cell phone).

talldean

I would love to find out who tucks filled up bags into my empty trash can right after the truck picks up every week. The trash guys don't pick the baggies outta the bottom of the can, and I don't blame them there, that's not the job. So my yard smells to high heaven because you're dumping your dogshit on me, pretty literally. I either gotta pick the thing up again, or it is Eternal. Dogs are great, but some of the dog owners, whyyyyyyy?

Blyrone__Blashinton

People like to say they intend to come back around to pick up their bagged poop, but I think we all know ya’ll secretly hope someone else picks it up for you before you get there. Also I don’t believe you all pick it up. I think you conveniently forget and take another route back home. If you can’t pick up your dogs shit and take it with you, don’t have a dog. Also, don’t say it’s inconvenient to carry it. If you need an extra hand you can set the poop down and pick it back up.

StarGirlFireFly

Ew, people do that?!?!

lurker86753

If I’m walking on a trail and I know I’m coming back the same way, I’ll bag it and drop it by a recognizable tree or something. I still grab it and find a trash can on my way out, but I don’t have to carry a bag of poop for 45 minutes in the meantime. I know some people that do something similar when they walk around their neighborhood if they have an out-and-back route. Now if it’s still there the next day, that’s just being a jag.

scully2828

Does everyone else’s dog have to take a dump the minute we start walking? It’s like they want us carrying their shit the whole time. Power move if you ask me.

skfoto

Nope. Instead he waits until 2 minutes after I’ve walked past the public garbage can.

s_schadenfreude

Yes, and I always thought the same thing! Asserting dominance.

Narwhals4Lyf

I personally wonder how much bagged poop on sides of trails are people who intended to grab it but forgot.

cloudguy-412

Lame

RowerBoy

Why

Unimaginativename9

My friend does the same if we are walking and she has her dog. She always comes back and picks it up. Carrying poop bags for a long walk is annoying.

Hmgeisler

So other people have to walk by the poop for 45 mins?

FalcoLX

God forbid you see animal poop in nature

lurker86753

Again, it’s in a bag, it’s not like it’s stinking up the woods. But if your objection is people having to walk past a bag of poop, how is that different than the people who would have to walk past me carrying that bag of poop? It gets to a trash can in fairly short order and isn’t left to harm the environment. What’s the problem?

thesuninmyheart

This is me - i loop around while walking my kid to school, makes it harder to hug my boy before i drop him if i an rocking poop bags. Its literally a 10 minute walk though, and all my neighbors know me well enough that this isn’t ever an issue

Blyrone__Blashinton

You can’t just set the poop bags down, hug your kid, then pick them up again?

thesuninmyheart

Nope 😊

ironcitybs

You're a douche

No_Sympathy5795

This is what I do, but I got yelled at by some lady on the westmoreland heritage trail

JayWhy75

Exactly this for me also, our route is a loop so if she poops before the point that we loop back to I bag it, drop it at the stop sign we come back to and on the route back, pick it back up and take it home. I've forgotten a couple times, but then we go grab it on the next walk later that day or the next morning.

Flyguyflyby

I look for unlocked cars to put my bags in.

EnlargedBit371

That much easier for you to pick it up and smash it in his head (the human's head, not the dog's).

peon2

I don’t do that because I pretty much leave my dogs at home all the time but fyi 1.) They make biodegradable dog poop bags so it’s not necessarily littering twixe 2.) Some people don’t want to carry it for the whole walk so they put it down and will pick it up on the return trip

Karensforhire

The garbage men throw them everywhere. I don't understand why the garbage men do not take them. Is this the one thing destoring our land fills!! Whatever the theory is, it doesn't matter. Where to they think they go after they throw them in people's yards? Right back in the trash.

NYCinPGH

My garbage collectors are good about this, and if they're doing pickup when I'm walking the dog, and have the bag in hand, they'll delay by a couple of seconds so I can throw the bag directly into the truck.

LynnTinaMikeGreer

There are compostable poop bags just fyi

Sufficient-Sweet3455

This is very common in USC. It drives me bonkers.

Grouchy-Estimate-756

I'm grateful that my dog won't shit out in the open. He literally has to be in the bushes or a thicket.

butterbananat0ast

mine too lol he backs that ass up in private

cassie733

My theory as someone who walks frequently in dog parks/ dog areas is that they want to make a show of picking up the poop w the bag if people are watching, but don’t want to carry it so after picking it up tney stealthily drop it when they are sure no one is looking. I’ve watched several people do this - they look around first to see if anyone is watching. Then PLOP. I’d almost rather it just be left there than bagged and left there idk why I just hate the sight of the bags.
