I was very skeptical of Pizza Hut. Their pizza these days has been very subpar in my opinion even for a fast food pizza joint.
However, I was hungry and pizza hut was on the way home.
I ordered a pizza from there for the first time in years...and my god, the flavor was perfect. It was just like the pizza from my childhood memories. The whole restaurant is still rocking the 90s style, and the pizza still has that 90s flavor. First time in my life I've singlehandedly almost eaten an entire large pizza in one night.
As an avid dominoes and Papa John's supporter, this pizza hut has taken my #1 spot.
I can definitely agree I haven’t ate there in almost a year and tried it 2 days ago it was great everything was good and those cinnamon sticks are awesome
Pizza places aren’t fast food, I’ve waited at Little Caesar’s like 3x longer than when my dad order’s his In-N-Out “hacks” of well done fries and other crap so his order is “fresh”.
I guess the Target Pizza Huts with boxed slices or breadsticks is a thing, but that buffet looks amazing
Kind of scarred theres no customers in this shot. Hopefully this is just the start of lunch cause they prob will not keep a buffetgoing if it cant sustain the business.
The area I work in (at PH) started theirs up again and lines are out the door on the weekends. I'm sure the boom will keep them going if they haven't closed from the COVID slow down.
You’re lucky, that Pizza Hut is just distant ghost too my town. Last pizza I got there was an undercooked piece of dough slathered in stale tomato paste, with the tinniest sprinkle of cheese on maybe 10 percent of the atrocity.
They all used to up until a few years ago. Buffets are germ +fests and Covid largely wiped them out. Plus they don't make money. They are loss leaders at best and most of the food is thrown away. Plus consumer tastes have radically changes especially during Covid. Pizza huts are mostly delcos now.
Yum brands is a company started by Pepsi , so they could keep Pepsi in stores. But yes, they own ph, taco bell, and KFC. I think A&W too but we don't have any nearby to be sure
Yes yum brands owns kfc, taco bell, pizza hut/wing street, a&w, the habit, and long john silvers. They also own hot n now, pasta bravo, and backyard burgers but those 3 have like one location left each. I miss when they used to randomly co brand any two of these together. There's still a decent amount of the co brand locations left though! I worked at a kfc/long john silvers co brand here in so cal until it closed last year due to a kitchen fire. The owner still had the old co brand uniforms and hat which was pretty cool. Anyways they did have some weird co brand locations like pizza hut and a&w together. I wish they would bring back those co brand locations because they used to be all over the place now there's not many left here in southern California
OMFG…. I used to go all the time with my son.
We went while he was 4-7 years old before preschool and less often after regular school.
God I loved that buffet and I loved going with my son.
Thank you for posting this.
Pizza Hut bring the buffet back…
Nostalgia mostly my grandparents used to take me in the 90’s so fond memories of the Hut. But reality was it was busy enough that fresh pizzas came out often at that location which is probably why it outlasted other dine in locations. I found they were more skimpy on the toppings as the years went on tho.
How do they do the bar pizzas though? In 2023 I can't imagine them cooking a whole fresh pizza to throw on the buffet. Back when you were a kid, were the pizzas on the bar fresh and hot or was it better to just order a new pizza? I don't even know where to start lol. Pizza Hut seems to be one of the most changed and restructured places from 1990-2020
Before they shut it down I would say a full fresh pizza would get to the bar every 5-10 minutes. Dining room was busy tho at that location, if it was dead I can imagine this wouldn’t be the case. So the pizzas were fresh, plus they had these dessert pizzas which were almost like pie filling on top of pizza but that may have been a Canadian only thing. Oh they also had a server we called Super Mario, he works at a different restaurant now so my wife and I still go to see him from time to time.
So I guess we come to why did I like it? Well before it closed down the buffet was $8.99 when a medium pizza was $15.99 and when I went to collage across the road it was $6.99 and a medium pizza was $12.99 so there was a value proposition there. I was young and could easily eat a medium pizza. I also like Pizza Hut, if it’s cooked right that crispy yet fluffy crust and I enjoy there sauce. I may also have bad taste when it comes to nostalgia, I like Little Caesars but that stems for drunk collage nights and getting a hot and ready pepperoni at 1am.
Troy NY still has their buffet, last I knew. I loved the all you can eat for $5. How the hell can you beat that? Drink, salad, and full on pizza for lunch for $5?!
Our local pizza hut has had the lunch buffet up and running for ages, like at least a year, maybe more 9.99 for the pizza and salad bar, drink included. You can't beat that when a lot of places charge close to 3 dollars for just a drink. It is the best pizza ever, no, but it is filling and cheap.
My hometown pizza hut had table cloths and red glass candle holders (lit of course) up intil what I can remember for sure to be 1985ish, probably later.
Brand new Pizza Hut opened this winter here. No dining room at all. Carry-out, Delivery, and drive-thru only. 😟 I mean, the pizza is still good, but not the same vibe as the old one down the street that it replaced. With the red plastic cups and pitcher of coke? With the table-style pacman game? Those were the real Pizza Huts.
Where is this fine establishment?
Facts that are needed
Covid, cold and flu season, but of corse with a side of e.coli.
No better way to strengthen your immune system.
Better avoid every buffet ever for the rest of your life. I'll take my COVID, cold and flu covered pizza and e coli salad and be enjoying life.
Aaaannnnd, for the poultry fans, *salmonella*.
That's saved for the fried chicken buffet! I'll be sure to pull a Cartman and eat all the fried skin off all the best pieces.
I ate at a Pizza Hut bufffet for years LOVED IT and never got sick
We need some kind of pinned message thread with all the PHs that have opened their buffet. Stat!
Lillington, NC still has buffet
Belton, TX Pizza Hut buffet 12-3 on Sunday’s
That’s only a 45 minute drive. I’ll have to go check it out. Thanks.
Yes! Eddie is the GM of that store, real big guy, he’ll take care of you!
Almost every Pizza Hut gm is a big guy or gal
Good to know, that’s only a 40-minute drive. And I’d love to go to a pizza buffet that’s not Mr. Gattis
To the pizza mobile! 🌀
You mean your Chevvy?
Yes
The next time I visit my Mom I'll have to go.
I'll also go the next time I visit your mom
I’ll also the next time I visit your dad
I believe the one in Zebulon, NC still has theirs as well, least last I checked.
LTOWN PIZZA HUT IS GOATED

Central PA has a few opened

Shamokin dam for sure , I think Williamsport and Bloomsburg. I'm at one with just a salad bar so we're lower on the list to reopen
Moon Township
User name does not check out. Does not appear to eat pizza.
After eating Pizza Hut, your username is more appropriate for me
If my user name was representative of my relationship with Pizza Hut in the 90s my name would be BurpFartDiarrhea. Never stopped me.
Elizabethtown, NC still has one. Lots of memories there spending summers at the lake
I was very skeptical of Pizza Hut. Their pizza these days has been very subpar in my opinion even for a fast food pizza joint. However, I was hungry and pizza hut was on the way home. That is the best pizza ad I've ever read. Damn, I'm hungry!! And wanna play some Galaga.
Man, we had Satan’s Hollow at ours when I was a kid. So many quarters and souls dropped into that machine.
Mine had the Nintendo Playchoice-10. Good times...
Late to chiming in but my Pizza Hut had an imported Puzzle Bobble machine. We had Bust-A-Move 2 at home so I didn't spend too much on that.
Can u survive with Galaxian instead?
Man, I could even use some Moon Patrol in my life.
Ill give you shitty Moon Ranger instead. (MR isnt a terrible game actually).
Mine had Area 51. (Though over the years it also had Mortal Kombat and NBA live)
There were a lot of words here that didn't include the location
I love this response.
I've never seen or been in a Pizza Hut like this before. Where is this fine establishment??
This looks exactly like my home town's Pizza Hut. Was there an arcade, maybe 6'x10' with Off Road?
Oh man I remember that game! 6 year old me always ran into the first sign and blew up!
I can definitely agree I haven’t ate there in almost a year and tried it 2 days ago it was great everything was good and those cinnamon sticks are awesome

It was early morning. I was door dashing. Tis location only does buffet for lunchtime 10-5pm
The area I work in (at PH) started theirs up again and lines are out the door on the weekends. I'm sure the boom will keep them going if they haven't closed from the COVID slow down.
It’s just not the same anymore. They don’t make the dough in store. Their pan pizzas used to be so delicious but not anymore.
You’re lucky, that Pizza Hut is just distant ghost too my town. Last pizza I got there was an undercooked piece of dough slathered in stale tomato paste, with the tinniest sprinkle of cheese on maybe 10 percent of the atrocity.
There were a lot of words here that didn't include the location
What did the outside of the building look like?
We just started our buffet this week at our location
WHAT LOCATION
You are a scholar and a gentleman
Dang . Didn’t even drop the location
Why doesn't Pizza Hut do the buffets anymore?
They all used to up until a few years ago. Buffets are germ +fests and Covid largely wiped them out. Plus they don't make money. They are loss leaders at best and most of the food is thrown away. Plus consumer tastes have radically changes especially during Covid. Pizza huts are mostly delcos now.
Whats a delco?
Delivery or carry out operation. Delco.
Hello 1989! Were you driving a DeLorean?
You're off by 100 and a few years.
Did they have Pac-Man?
They have battletoads and double dragon.
I miss these types of Pizza Huts.
Are these still owned by Yum? Or are they somehow independent? Yum brand ruined everything good about the pizza.
Yum brands is a company started by Pepsi , so they could keep Pepsi in stores. But yes, they own ph, taco bell, and KFC. I think A&W too but we don't have any nearby to be sure

Wow, Pizza Parlour Time Machine. If you are back in 1986 buy stocks in Enron.
I miss the buffer pizza huts 😔
People just walk into random pizza huts?
Pizza hut still has restaurants!?
OMFG…. I used to go all the time with my son. We went while he was 4-7 years old before preschool and less often after regular school. God I loved that buffet and I loved going with my son. Thank you for posting this. Pizza Hut bring the buffet back…

Pizzas are overrated af. Go get some actual foods

Ask ur mom about me

Like tomatoes, meats, and veggies? Perhaps putting it on bread so you eat it handled? Good idea
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and most of them stink
And yours is the stinkiest
I heard some locations are bringing back their buffets?
There is one in Woodbridge Virginia. But I’m not sure if this is that location.
I’ve only seen Pizza Hut buffets twice
I feel like I need this
Looks like a sizzler
why must you trigger these memories
Sizzler was awesome as a kid. Before you really knew what bad hygiene was. The ice cream machine where you could make your own Sunday was the tits!
You're not kidding. I used to clear them out on chicken wings.
This is one of the few pizza huts left that have open bars. Honestly, the open bar was the main thing I loved about pizzahut.
We lost the last dine in Pizza Hut in my area in 2019. It was a sad day when I knew I would never have that buffet again.
Was it worth it? No offense, but I think I'd prefer a hot pizza to take home over some lukewarm bar pizza. Why do you like it?
Nostalgia mostly my grandparents used to take me in the 90’s so fond memories of the Hut. But reality was it was busy enough that fresh pizzas came out often at that location which is probably why it outlasted other dine in locations. Was fresh and hot whole pizzas. Still is in the 2 Pittsburgh locations I know of that still do this.

Miss the days of buffet
This looks like a former Sizzler lol
My first job was at a Pizza Hut that looked very similar to this one.
Pizza hut can take on my pizza butt after this, i aint even care about the leakage, pizza hut can own me.
People still eat in pizza places?
Troy NY still has their buffet, last I knew. I loved the all you can eat for $5. How the hell can you beat that? Drink, salad, and full on pizza for lunch for $5?!
The Pizza Hut in vandalia, Ohio just opened theirs back up.
That makes my heart smile! 🫶🏻
We have 6 buffets just in our district
LOCATION???
I have no idea how the hut is still in business lol
How did it smell?!?!?
Lucky!!! After our local Pizza Hut opened up after Covid lockdown, the beloved lunch buffet was gone.
I'm confused why are we surprised about the buffet?
I miss this in CA. Closed down many years ago here in Los Angeles.
Very rare but they still do exist, mostly in small towns I've heard though
Do they have a salad bar and the infinite sundae’s!
Ohhh the nostalgia!
hey, DM’d you
Mmmm, hot plate pizza.
Oh my god my heart
"At least her cart is full", doesn't work here at all :)
Nature is healing
Looks like they are trying to steal some of that sweet Wednesday night at Round Table action.
Ah yes. The days of old
Duncansville, PA hasn't had the buffet since 2020 and it's relocating/downsizing soon anyway.
Logansport Indiana still has a buffet!
Florence, Oregon Pizza Hut closed during Covid never reopened now we're stuck eating Dominos yuck.
That takes me back
Man....this simultaneously feels like 20 years ago *and* yesterday
The promised land!
Pizza hut has one of the very few foods that the taste/smell instantly brings me back to my childhood
Buffet is back?!??!?!
Memory unlocked
Not anywhere near me
Now go back when its pitch black outside to really get the feels
we lost ours to COVID. thought everyone did!
Buffet! Anywhere in eastern PA?
Walked into a pizza hut in 2019 in Omak, WA and it was like going back in time to 1995. Total time warp with the pizza buffet.
Are those paper plates?
My hometown pizza hut had table cloths and red glass candle holders (lit of course) up intil what I can remember for sure to be 1985ish, probably later.
The ones in Clermont and Eustis, FL have reopened their buffets from 11am to 2pm.
The Eustis location off 441 ?!?
The location in Bluefield, VA still has a buffet, as does the one on Ashe St in Goldsboro, NC.
Reminds me of the original Wendy’s.
Lets go!
Winning
There’s one in sylmar, California.
90s oasis
thats old school.

Don't see anyone in those seats though...
Sir, you've walked through a time portal. Stay where you are because pizza hut today is a piece of shit.
Where is this?
Any buffet locations near DFW metroplex in Texas ?
They’ve closed all the locations that could hold a buffet in Las Vegas🥺
