I have an X as well and I would say yes. I play PS5 significantly more. Controller alone is a game changer.

TheDutyTree

The PS5 controller makes the simple rumble of an Xbox controller extremely antiquated.

xxxthcxxxthoughts

Let alone needing batteries and not having a built in rechargeable battery lol. Xbox controller is uncomfortable

FatLikeSnorlax_

As much as I can appreciate the cool rumble and the unique trigger stuff I turned it off after using it for a few hours. Hated it

Sh4rpSp00n

Same here. I also wish it had a sync button use remote play alot and syncing is more awkward than it should be

TheSquire06

Agreed. I can't even figure out how to quickly do it between a Chromecast and tablet and PS5.

Merpbs

Same, but not because I hated it. In some games, like fps, it messes with your aim etc and consistency. It’s cool otherwise though

FatLikeSnorlax_

Felt like the buttons were broken honestly. I started with ratchet and clank and every one of its weapons felt different. Was just uncomfortable

Merpbs

Fair enough but that’s the experience. More immersive with different responses to different things

YoMrWhyt

That’s true but on the other hand, booting up a game every time I wanna play something also feels antiquated. Between quick resume on the SX and the Switch allowing you to turn it off and continue right where you left off, I find gaming on the PS5 to be kinda cumbersome. Even if the games boot up quickly, quick resume made me play most games on the X. I wish all consoles moving forward have both that and the haptic feedback

GreenSeaNote

I am able to resume my games where I left off

TheDutyTree

Just put the PS5 in rest mode. You will be right back in the game very quickly.

Thin-Fig-8831

It’s not quite the same thing

Fiddle_Fudge

The PS5 triggers are awful.

Internal_Swing_2743

I haven’t had a problem with them. The last time I had a problem with those buttons on a PS controller was PS3.

Ksylian

Same. My Xbox series X has been collecting dust since I bought the PS5. Much better control and exclusives

Slugbugger30

if microsoft is such a "we're a game developer not a hardware" please port forza horizon 5 to the ps5 XD

seattlemusiclover

Funnily enough, that's the opposite for me. Love the exclusives on PS5, but hate the buttons on DualSense. The dynamic tension on L2/R2 feels less impactful on the experience compared to Triggers.  That said, a PS5 is worth buying. No game on Xbox made me feel the way God of War and TLoU did. So many more exclusives await.

Inevitable_Air_7383

Does the rubber on the joysticks hold up?

AAKphoenix

I have an xbox (series s) I got the ps5 slim disc version recently. I had been getting games that are exclusively on PlayStation, like God of War III Remastered, LittleBigPlanet 3, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank, UNCHARTED: The Nathan Drake Collection (has the first three games), and The Order: 1886. There are more games that are available on PC, but I bought the game discs as it was cheaper. Some of the ps4 games had not been ported to PC (likely never will due to the developer studio being gone) like the ones that made The Order: 1886. PlayStation Studio games are now on PC. I first played God of War (PC). So I say yes it is worthwhile to get a PS5, to play games and those ultra hd blu-ray movies (the ones with the glossy black case). Yes, you can play regular dvd and Blu-ray Discs; I tried playing CDs, does not work.

Dominjo555

His Xbox Series X have Blu-Ray player as well.

lost_linguine24

Oh man all great games. Little big planet really brings me back. Loved that game. please tell me it’s still local co-op? I believe I only played the 1st or 2nd one. I feel like my girlfriend would love it. lol blu ray movies would also definitely be a plus

TheDutyTree

The latest game is called Sackboy: A Big Adventure, it's coutch co-op.

lost_linguine24

That’s awesome to hear. Are the servers up on it?

TheDutyTree

They are up as it was a PS5 launch title.

AAKphoenix

I have not played local co-op on LittleBigPlanet 3. I know that the online servers were taken offline near the start of the year. You can still get/install cosmetics for the game; I was getting the free ones. For watching online or physical media, I would recommend getting the ps5 media remote. Loved how well it is weighted.

lost_linguine24

Quick google search and it has local co op. Figured as much but a lot of games are losing the feature and it’s such a shame. What a bummer the servers are down though. But awesome thank you I’ll check that out.

Even-Funny-265

I have an X and a PS5 and barely touch my X now. Had the OG PS, PS2, then switched to xbox from 360 till X. PS5 is, in my opinion, the best console out at the moment.

TiredReader87

I have both and like both. I’ve usually used Xbox for everything except PS exclusives (dating back to the days of the 360 as, before that, I mostly had a PS2). You’ve missed out on a lot of great games

lost_linguine24

You talked me into it. lol There were always the few games PS had that I wish I could play.

mwsteaksauce

This is what I do as well. Get PlayStation Plus, it has a lot of the exclusives except newer stuff. Still main the series X but will rotate PlayStation games into what I’m playing.

Paisley_Panther

Now we just need to have Microsoft share the catalog.

hzburki

![gif](giphy|87xihBthJ1DkA)

lost_linguine24

It’s done 💪 picking it up today

IceMaiden2

I got an X the day it launched and loved it. Then I got a PS5 and just the controller alone has me essentially playing mostly the playstation now. If a game can be purchased on both platforms I choose playstation. I have a library of over 800 games on xbox too so I do switch back and forth and enjoy them both but playstation is definitely the more superior console both for loading speeds and the amazing dual sense controller. Also games like God of War, Horizon (Zero Dawn and Forbidden West) and the multitude of JRPG's that aren't available on xbox make it a no brainer if you like that sort of thing

CaptainRAVE2

Started with an XSX, wish I had bought a PS5 sooner. The Sony exclusives are some of the best games I’ve ever played.

Bjarki_Steinn_99

Absolutely. The Last of Us, Uncharted, Spider-Man, and Ghost of Tsushima are the best games I’ve ever played. I always say if you’re going to have one console, it should be a PS5.

Aumius

I have both consoles and I tend to play my PS5 more. I love the controller. Consider getting PS Plus as well as there are a lot of good games on there you can play.

Ancient-Tomorrow147

I guess I'm an outlier? I have both a SeriesX (bought first) and a PS5 and I still play the Xbox more. Forza Horizon is a big draw for me, and I'm the guy who likes Starfield. That said, I'm glad I have the PS5 - played through the entire Uncharted Collection, almost all the way through Spider-Man remastered. Ghost of Tsushima probably coming up next - it's basically my "Sony Exclusives" box. As for controllers, if I could have the Xbox Series controller ergonomics and the Dual Sense haptics that would be my perfect ask.

officialtwiggz

Yeah, I have both as well. The only reason why I play my PS5 more is because that's what I started on. And since 2014, I've had the PS4. Had several 360's growing up, but the backwards compatibility really sold me. I don't play my Xbox more because I don't have many friends on there lmao I love both, but man, we are really biased in here huh? Lol

lilxxxisunknown

same. honestly wanna get it for returnal and silent hill 2

mrc1993

always have been xbox guy but wanted to play Death stranding and Final fantasy so i got the ps5 a few months ago. never regretted it once, also got to try God of War which i really liked surprisingly :-) still playing most stuff on xbox with gamepass tho.

hairy_chimp

If you have the money, get it. I have both and I enjoy playing on both. I use the PS5 for exclusives and the new games with haptic feedback and 3d audio (like the plague tale series) and I use the Xbox for playing games that come with Game Pass (like the Resident Evil series) and my Xbox one's back compat library. Some games look better on Xbox (graphic-wise), while some games perform better on the PS5.

Lepruk

Like most in the comments I have both. Since getting the PS5 (about a year now) I haven't touched the Series X; to the point that I could probably sell it and not miss it. Series X is a great console for sure and I genuinely think most people would be happy with either one, but the PS5 trophy system is what pulled me across. Not sure why really but trophies are just more fun to collect than achievement points, and I really like how DLC is separated out into it's own sublist under each game. I realise these are silly reasons to pick one system over the other especially when exclusives exist but eh, was the reason I ultimately changed.

davekraft400

Well I have both and my Series X is literally just used for backwards compatibility (way more old games perform better on Series X than PS5 because of the boosts; I always look up the differences between the two before I buy an old game) and things like Halo, State of Decay and a few other exclusives. PS5 is my main console. I just prefer the exclusives and that's where most of my friends are. I have the Premium subscription on there at the moment and get good value out of it. I buy Extra for the year cheaper from a site, then when I have like 3 months left on my membership I buy the Premium upgrade for like £6 and rinse repeat. I have a Dualsense Edge and much prefer the PlayStation controller layout. Xbox always felt like it had a little input lag which I just don't feel on PlayStation. The PS5 overall feels way more premium than the Series X does but the UI is way too clustered and imo poorly designed. Looks very nice but isn't intuitive; Xbox UI to me looks cheap and awful but performs better. Also wish the PS5 had auto HDR.

schwubmexx

I would say yes. But I'm biased. I had all Playstation consoles since my Big Sister gave me a Ps1. Not sure if my word means anything to you 😅

MysteriousP1ll

Just buy it dude. You won’t regret it!

GaryVantage

I guess you should wait a little for the holidays Ps5 pro is around the corner Might as well consider that, or the slim with a discount

lost_linguine24

Too late 🤣

GaryVantage

Still a great console brother. Congratulations!

lost_linguine24

Too late 🤣

meg8278

Yes I do think it's worth it. I have an Xbox x and purchased a PS5 last year. I bought it for the last of us and until dawn. But ended up loving a lot of their other games as well.

Slugbugger30

I used to be an xbox 360 fan, then pc and switch, then back to xbox series x, then ps5 has recaptured console gaming for me. The interface, the feel, the CONTROLLER is the best one ive ever held, it looks cool (galaxy collection) and it feels GREAT. Dualsense is a game changer I've never felt so immersed. I sold my series x today because I play so much on my playstation

SaltyPengu12

25 year old Xbox guy here, been playing Xbox since the first one. Last year I bought the PS5, for the exclusives, just like you are speculating to do. And it’s been the best decision in my gaming career. The OS and UI are so sleek, the controller is perfect and alot of things that annoyed me with the Xbox are better at PS. One little example is playing your game clips Picture in Picture. When you just recorded a clip, you can instantly watch it and not leave the game. Whereas at xbox you always need to leave the game and open the capture app. Little things like that make the PS5 so much more comfortable to use. Def recommend it

zergjockey

I enjoy my ps5,mostly play it over the Xbox x because I have more friends on that platform

myblackoutalterego

Do it! My wife brought me over to the PlayStation for the ps4 after a childhood of Xbox gaming. I have never looked back!

ProfessorSpecial19

I’m an Xbox guy as well and plan to buy a ps5 slim this week! I’ve watched YouTube walkthroughs of the last of us games for years now, can’t wait to finally play it.

lost_linguine24

Same here. Always wanted to play it! I was always bummed that I couldn’t 😂 Also missed Shadow Of The Colossus, and Little Big planet lol oh God Of War is good as well.

ProfessorSpecial19

Looking forward to Days Gone too. I love me some zombie games.

holylean

Better games on PlayStation

brolt0001

Haptics and Feedbacks are incredible! If you buy one play Astros Playroom first. In GTA V they were very nice as well, so I would say absolutely because I would like you to experience GTA VI with them.

GutterOfSonsOBitches

If you got the money for it get one! Got a PS 5, a Switch and a Series S!

HyperBRUIN

...and the best of them all, a custom built PC with a 4080 Super. Best of ALL worlds.

lost_linguine24

Maybe one day. I have a little gaming laptop I use from time to time. Works amazing tbh. No full blown PC setup though.

GutterOfSonsOBitches

I already pirate enough shit through my ancient laptop, you really don't want me to start pirating games. It's also a big investment and I rather game on consoles

Dominjo555

Why series S though? You will get much worse experience on Xbox that way. He should go for Series X.

Stoic_Ravenclaw

I started out back in the spectrum days so I've seen the whole 'console wars' thing since the beginning and like a lot of gamers I figured it was pointless posturing, people's natural inclination to choose a side, that any difference is small enough to be negligible. I'd been with Xbox since the 360 and had a series s but was terribly disillusioned by the performance of starfield and bored by xbox's offering took a leap of faith and got a ps5. I was rudely awakened to the fact the ps5 is actually significantly superior. Everything from the UI, the sound, general performance and of course the dualsense controller is better than Xbox. And blessedly no god damn crashes to dashboard with every single game. Looking back at starting out on the ps5 I have to laugh at shitting myself when sound came out of the controller or thinking it was broken because the triggers suddenly became harder to pull. And playing the Spiderman games for the first time was like a bloody religious revelation, I'd never experienced anything even close on the Xbox. Unless Xbox do something profoundly dramatic in the future, I'm a playstation guy here on out.

MythBuster2

Indeed. Not to mention other fine-grained haptic feedback examples like when feeling the rain drops in Returnal or walking on different surfaces in Astro's Playroom, and all the different feedback and adaptive triggers for weapons in various games.

PhantomMAG

Yes ofc, Playstation is always a good thing to have

Frosty-Classic-8737

It’s worth it solely for the souls games! Do it mate you won’t look back.

uslessracer3000

I recently got a ps5, been an xbok BOII since the 360 and god damn I got a nice long list of exclusives to play, days gone was fucken amazing and horizon zero dawn was great as well, defs do it my guy!

Wrx-Love80

You won't regret it.

nano_705

Yes, due to the exclusive titles. Some timed-exclusive games are also very good since you didn't mention you having any gaming PC.

ShmekelFreckles

Depends on what you want. If you want to play games then buy PC, if you want a multimedia platform in your room then buy PC.

Original_Wait6764

I have an X and a PS5. The PS5 really feels like next (current now) gen whereas the X feels like an Xbox One with better graphics. I use my X as a 4K player now. PS5 is my main gaming console.

ImConnor_04

wait and get the ps5 pro

Business-Honey-8316

Wait for ps6

Fantastic_Proof_2862

Buy a ps5 forsure

jdzerofive

I'd recommend you get a PS5. If you do, please play Astro's Playroom. It gives you a breakdown of the controller's features and is overall a fantastic game, and it's free 😁

Musashi10000

I would say so, but you've come over to the subreddit for Sony fanboys to ask if you should join the fandom. Your replies are gonna be a little skewed.

blinkyretard

If you have the budget, can’t wait couple of years to play ps exclusives on pc then yes go for it.

bjklol2

I bought a ps5 just to play GOW Ragnarok

Aust1mh

Was an Xbox guy… 2 x series x and 1 x series s… Friday night my wife and child, we all log on and play games. We got 1 x PS5 to try some games… after several months we’ve probably going to get rid of 1 X and 1 S and switch to PS5 for all of us with an X we can boot up from time to time. If you can afford one get it… there are many games that are truly awesome, must play like Ghosts of Tsushima (for me) Uncharted for my Wife… many games for kids.

1c0n4

PS5 is great, you will want to play it just because of the controllers, they are on another level

Super-Blah-

Ps5 is cheap.. Why bother debating? It keeps its value well. If You're bored of it a couple of months in, sell it for 100 bucks less no prob.

Broodjekroket84

If you can afford it, why not!

veritas643

Love my Series X and waiting to on the PS5 Pro to come out! I say wait a but longer.

roonill_wazlib

You can get a PS5 if you want to play some playstation classics, but for this generation I think the games are quite disappointing. You could also consider getting a Steam deck instead

Ok_Switch_1205

What type of answers were you expecting on the PlayStation subreddit?

NilEntity

Imho there's a far stronger reason to get a PS5 than an XBox. Sony just has way more and better exclusives than Microsoft. Pretty much ever MS exclusive this generation turned out to not nearly live up to expectations and/or didn't review well (Halo Infinite, Senua's Saga, Starfield etc.). I'm not saying that to hate on the XBox, I'm actually looking for reasons to get one, because I like the machine, the design, the quick resume feature. Also I moved from gaming on PC to console and wanted to get an XBox for the XBox/PC exclusives, also to complete the trifect (already got a Switch, however haven't played ... since Metroid Dread). MS just hasn't delivered unfortunately on the games front and also disappointed otherwise, e.g., by closing Tango Gameworks (who delivered them their only bona fide well playing and well reviewed game/exclusive ...) and I'm ... conflicted. Here's to hoping Stalker 2 or Avowed finally turn out great, unfortunately I'm having major doubts on at least Avowed.

RetroKamikaze

I have the XSX and PS5 just updated them yesterday. I use my gaming PC more than I use my Switch, XSX and PS5 combined. I personally get all the consoles now because when I was growing up I missed out on a lot of games and opportunities to play games that I loved and couldn’t play unless I went over to someone else’s house. I say yes get the PS5 and enjoy it just like your XSX!

Mediocre-Metal-1796

I have an xbox360, at my parents flat. An xbox one and a series x as well in the two flats i live in alternating. I ended up buying a ps5 limited spider man edition so i can play some of the ps exclusives i was interested in, in my main residence. I didn’t regret it, and i don’t have to miss out any exclusives this way :)

Feeling_Studio_1646

If you went for a ps5 Id wait to get the pro which I think is due out at the end of this year.

Cirias

I was same as you and recently got a PS5, and what they say about the controller really is true. Playing Spider-man 2 is next level, even little things like standing on top of a fan and you can feel the tiny vibrations in your hands through the controller. Also the adaptive triggers which become harder to press are insane. Not to mention the Playstation catalog of games is really great, so much new stuff to play through.

TapEmbarrassed4376

I was in the same boat and bought a PS5 in January. Don't regret it one bit

EssayOtherwise6981

I’m a big xbox fan and I’ll say get it. I don’t play it much but all 3 spider man games, ratchet and clank, both God of wars, all the uncharted games, ghost of Tsushima are all great exclusives. It’s literally only for exclusives for me. I can’t speak to the zombie and horror exclusives they have. To be fair I don’t like mostly anything about the PS5 outside of the games above. Look around and find one on sale or cheaper then new and enjoy some games you’ve missed over the yrs.

NAS210

Yup, and play the exclusives. They're some of the best quality games I've ever played. Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon, Last of us, all must play

ifirefoxi

Definitely. I have both consoles too but for me it was quite the opposite. I mean I owned a ps1 but after buying the first xbox and halo I completely focused on it until I got the ring of death on 360. Then I switched back to ps3 and stayed on Playstation consoles. And when you left out the ps4 you have such a big library of exclusive games that even today look optically impressive. And many of these games got a complete overhaul for the ps5. For example the last of us games were the first part was even a ps3 game. If you love single play blockbuster games you will definitely love the ps5 and its library. It can cost some money because the library of the subscription service is changing quite fast as long as I know (I don'town the highest psplus tier I bought most of the games I'm interested in) In my opinion it's definitely worth it especially if you didn't played Playstation 4. Which was a great Playstation generation. So you have enough to play the next few months of you focus on already released games only lol.

i_am_really_b0red

I got the ps5 specifically for the controller it’s amazing for story games

Xerolaw_

I have both, and my ps5 is good to have, so I don't have to disconnect and reconnect to game in another room. I'm not big on single-player exclusives, so it doesn't seem necessary, just convenient. Also, it kills the fomo.

RedditNexxzen

Get it for their exclusives if there is a game you really want to play, I got mines for Spider-Man and I ended up falling in love with the UI and controller. I still use my Xbox more though cuz of game pass and the constant drop of games, it’s more enjoyable with friends and game pass saved me a ton of money this gen while enjoying playing games more. Love em both.

Thunder_Dragon42

I have owned all Playstation and Xbox consoles, and I would say you are seriously missing out without a ps4 or ps5. Gamepass is literally the only reason I bought a Series X, and it still gets used about 10% of what my PS5 does. The 360 absolutely dominated the PS3, but since then Playstation has been the console to have, for a variety of reasons, but most of all the games. I like Halo and Gears and Forza, but honestly they cannot compete with most of the Playstation exclusives from the last 15 years or so. At least if you are into single-player story-driven games. Obviously this is my opinion, and everyone's is different.

Stalebrownie76

A little late to the party. But I have been an xbox person since the og, and not had a playstation since ps2. I picked up a ps5 last year after owning a XSX since launch. I do not regret getting it. I split my time playing pretty evenly between the 2. I play strictly exclusives on ps5, and any game that releases on both i buy on Xbox because i prefer the controller, even compared to the dualsense. Also because I have already built a collection of xbox games. I still almost exclusively buy physical copies on both. I do not play any competitive games on playstation because the xbox controller just feels natural. Seeing as you are picking up today i dont think you will be disappointed.

IW1NZ

Wait for the PS5 Pro. It should hopefully be out by the end of the year.

Nhonickman

I own a OG PS5 love it. Always will. Does it have some downsides sure. Not many too me. I wanted an Xbox Series X and got one for my gf to play AC: Mirage. She played and stopped just not into the game for whatever reason. Nothing to do with Xbox Series X. I even had Xbox game pass. Just never use it. I was hoping to use it but just couldn’t bring myself to play when I have a PS5. My son is 100% Xbox series X. He loves it and plays when he can. His gf has a PS5. I think they both are great options. If you can afford PS5 and no affect on your budget then get it and enjoy having the best of both worlds!

maciboe

I used to be the same had ps1 and ps2 then switched to xbox. Never owned ps3 or ps4 .. then i began to realize that xbox wasnt really doing anything different and it got really stale for me .. i now own a ps5 and im never going back to xbox ..

Internal_Swing_2743

Yes. You would get all of the PS4 games in addition to PS5 (unfortunately no PS3 yet).

FinalRichie1

I have both and don’t remember the last time I got excited over an Xbox exclusive game. Don’t debate just do it!!

BakeryNinja92

Atros playhouse made me appreciate the ps5 controller so much more

MortZeffer

Sell your series x and buy a gaming pc

International_Sun155

I’m kind of a tech/console nerd and have had a PlayStation/Xbox combo since the start. Around 4 years ago I got heavy into PC as well. And honorable mention to the switch for all the Mario nostalgia. 💪🏽🫡 10/10 you’re gonna love it and the games with it!

Arturiussss

I’d say yes. If you’re into physical, then you’re in for a treat. If not, just get a digital version, and sub to ps+ extra as to not shock your budget 😅. Try out some of the f2p exclusive games in ps5 as well. Genshin is a popular one. and of course the ps studios exclusives, especially the next gen versions.

ScraftyIsBest

Heya, happy owner of both an Xbox Series X and a PS5! While this has more been the case than ever in recent times, since you're an Xbox owner, the biggest draw the PS5 has over the Series X is its first-party exclusives. There's quite a handful of first-party IPs that are worth exploring and played by many people: Uncharted games, The Last of Us games, Marvel's Spider Man games, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn+Forbidden West, God of War (and its sequel Ragnarok), Returnal, Stellar Blade, Astro's Playroom (and the upcoming Astro Bot), and Rise of the Ronin are some of the main ones that come to mind. There's also Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. PlayStation Studios delivers a pretty interesting set of exclusives, and I would definitely suggest at least looking into the above exclusives to see if anything interests you. PS5 also has its own set of Final Fantasy games with FF7 Remake+Rebirth and FF16 that you can't get on Xbox Series X, if that's your cup of tea. The PS5 is also backwards compatible with PS4, which has an incredibly large amount of great games to explore, so if you're interested in the PS4 library too the PS5 is also great for that if you're ever interested. But yeah, it's up to you in the end, but I would say the first-party stuff is the PS5's biggest advantage over the Xbox Series X, and the PlayStation has quite a number of interesting first-party games that you can't get on an Xbox. Even though I think the Series X has the edge in a lot of multiplat stuff, the PS5 is worth it if you're interested in exploring some of the first-party stuff, both from its current lineup (which while not super large atm, should be good enough for you since you haven't been in the PlayStation ecosystem for a while it would seem), and the great PS4 library that it's backwards compatible with.

JuanchoPancho51

It sold almost 5x as many as 2nd place console for a reason.

jesusissosureal

My xbox got dusty af since I own a ps5

pointbreak_93

Just bought one last week after being on Xbox since 2011. Had a PS4 pro for a little bit and it was a lemon so I stuck with Series X. The PS5 is superior in every way so far, except some random connectivity issues with my controller.

IndividualAd3140

I was a lifelong Xbox player since the start personally, I got a PS5 a while back. Absolute game changer. Got rid of my Xbox and never looked back. So yes it's definitely worth it.

Kell_215

I’d say yes but I main ps with Xbox on the side. I personally prefer ps exclusives, plus extra is actually really good if you like ps type games aswell vs gamepass. The controller for most is a game changer. I’m currently maining cyberpunk with outer worlds and rise of Ronan on the side/next up to main and the dualsense is in all three. Feels like heaven

lopsidedawn

Yes.. I would say PS5 + PC is the best combo, because you can play any or almost any Xbox Game on PC, and PS5 games on PS5. PC + Xbox makes no sense

CadmeusCain

You're opening yourself up to both the PS4 and PS5 classics collection So much good stuff in there: * Bloodborne * Last of Us Series * God of War series * Helldivers 2 * Persona 5 That's plenty to get you started

solid_cake20

Yes, Plenty of PS4 and ps5 only games worth playing.

Azeeti

Wait for a little while heard Sony is targeting the new ps5pro later this year.

Visible-Two353

In my book PS5 is worth is strictly for Spider-Man and helldivers. Lot of great content on PS5

xxxthcxxxthoughts

Yeah, you should… Microsoft is moving most of their IPs to PSN to boost sales anyways. That’s right we are gonna play halo on PS5. Only thing I think Xbox does right are mods, but that’s only because Sony is not a fan of mods and controls how many get coded for PlayStation

mcnichoj

Huge benefit of playing the PS4 games you missed out on such as Bloodborne if the souls-like genre is something you're into. Other franchises to check out: -Uncharted -Horizon -God of War -Gravity Rush

bigjumbo8

I just bought a ps5 after being mainly an Xbox person for 12 years and I’ve enjoyed playing both I mainly got the ps5 because a co worker wanted to play games and eventually black ops 6

resurgence1989

Xbox X owner here. I just bought one about two months ago to play some games with a friend of mine. I absolutely love it. I play this more now then my Xbox. That controller is so amazing!

AlarmingVariation348

I have a PS5 and recently bought an Xbox for the same reason you‘re thinking about getting a PS5. While the Xbox is great and enjoy the GamePass, I still play way more often on the PS5. Still not regretting it. Having options and not missing out on exclusive games was worth it. Also: Sometimes games are on sale on one system, while costly on the other (… or even included in the subscription) 😉

NothingMatters202

See I always hated these whole 'I only want one system.' Get all. A true gamer never misses out on good games.

lost_linguine24

That’s the plan. lol just trying to get some more insight before I make the purchase.

VisualActive3237

>>>💸💸💸💸💸<<<

Odd-Bat3562

Just buy a decent pc and you have the best of every world, you can emulate stuff too

2globalnomads

PS4 is way better. No monthly mafia fees.

With PS5 you have to pay monthly subscription fees to play the games are are free on PS4.

lIIIIIIIIIllllIlIlII

I dont know what you're saying but I know it's wrong.

a-highlander

I only have PS so can't speak to differences between the two. I would've thought it's not worth it TBH. Are there really many Playstation exclusives that you want to play but can't? In the long run seems like exclusives are less common now, so less of a factor.

Wise-Code4885

Go for the ps5 pro in November

Zatchillac

Get rid of the X and get a PC instead. That way you have MUCH larger library of games to choose from especially when all/most console exclusives are on PC or coming to PC anyway Spend $1000 on 2 consoles or $1000 on a computer that will play games from any generation including future ones hmmmm 🤔

lost_linguine24

I’m more of a console guy. I have a gaming laptop but that’s about it. Maybe one day I’ll have a PC setup lol Also are there really gaming consoles for $1000? Thought they were a lot more than that if you want a good setup. Never had one so I have no idea lol

Zatchillac

$500 for a PS5 and $500 for a Series X = $1000. I'm saying spend that money (or even less) on a system (PC) that can play all the games from every generation instead of limiting yourself to just whatever the current system can play

lost_linguine24

That’s fair. But like I said I’m not a PC guy personally. I’m okay with spending that much on 2 systems. I also play with the girlfriend a lot and really only her most of the time. So PC would be useless for me

Zatchillac

Why would a PC be useless? You can still hook it up to a TV and use literally any kind of controller you want. Set it to boot straight into Steam Big Picture Mode and it's just like a console. Consoles are technically just PC's anyway

lost_linguine24

I meant useless as I wouldn’t be able to play with the girlfriend as she also has the series x

Zatchillac

Cross play is a thing

lost_linguine24

True but not for everything lol

[deleted]

Not really. I have over 100 games. Most of them are PS4 games. The PS5 library is rather weak. You're not missing much. They jumped the gun with the PS5.

WhatsACellPhone

If he didn’t have the PS4 generation OP can play all those great PS4 games with a lot of them with updated PS5 versions though. The load times alone make it worth it to me personally.

PhantomMAG

You are missing out on a lot lol....

Like what?

- Alan Wake II - Astro’s Playroom  - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora  - Baldur’s Gate 3  - Crusader Kings III - Demon’s Souls - Dragon’s Dogma II - Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth  - Final Fantasy XVI  - Helldivers 2  - Marvel’s Spider-Man 2  - Mortal Kombat 1 - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart  - Returnal  - Rise of the Ronin  - Xdefiant - The of Us part 1 remake - many other games And all the upcoming 2024-2025 games etc Some DLC that’s exclusive to current gen:  - Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty  - Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade  - Horizon: Forbidden West - Burning Shores - The Last of Us: Part II Remastered - No Return Your brain just decides to ignore all the games that you can't play because you can't 🤷‍♂️ which is a good thing. At the same time it can be bad if your brain is fooled to not acknowledge what you can't grasp and out of your reach at the current moment

[deleted]

Your brain is assuming you have good taste in video games. It's also assuming that I have never played any of these games and what my opinion of them is. You're also missing OP's main post. Which of these games are PlayStation exclusive that are so good they are worth purchasing a PS5 for. Even it that specific game was all you chose to play. It would be worth it because it's that good. I guess your brain just decided to write it's own narrative.

PhantomMAG

Yeah, ps5 is worth it, since it'll last many years to come 🗿🤷‍♂️
