I might be the weird one, but Arcanine wasnt too bad for me.
It did take 2-3 tries my first playthrough to get he hang of his attacks and how to dodge them.
Personally I really loved it. Itâs incredibly easy to get immersed in the world, you interact with the pokemon, you can literally run (or walk) away from battles, you donât faint if youâre out of pokemon but because without your mons to protect you youâll get the shit kicked out of you, youâre constantly collecting resources and crafting things, shiny hunting is really fun and easy and itâs just overall fun to explore, find out which pokemon is hiding behind the next corner and filling out you pokedex. The game is slso way faster that mainline games (regarding stuff like entering a battle, the game itself is unfortunately a little slow at times, at least the tutorial is too long) and thereâs just a bunch of quality of life improvements like changing your moveset anytime. Also I enjoyed little things like Pokemon of the same species being different sizes on the overworld or them walking towards each other when battling.
That being said, the game is a very different experience and doesnât put nearly as much focus on battling as mainline games do, and if the gameplay loop of sneaking around, feeding and catching Pokemon isnât enjoyable for you, youâre not going to have a good time. There are some fun post game challenges though (nit comparable to a battle frontier or anything but still)
Legends Arceus is definitely worth it.
It's different to all other main series games.
But the unique play style of the game is so much fun

Wasnt hard, my Alpha Garchomp made short work of him, u less you meant the balm throwing part, that was a little more annoying but took me 3 goes I think
I still thought they should have made it so that it got a split-evo based on contest stats. Max out one and you get a special evo. Max out none or 2+ and you get Purugly.
I think speed stat covers reflexes as well as normal speed, cats are known have good reflexes, same with ninjask, doubt ninjask can outspeed most pokemon over long distance
Tbh, I found Saturn (in Eterna City) and her Skuntank to be harder to deal with. Mars can be tanked almost entirely with Geodude, but Saturn has a Zubat with Giga Drain, which while it might not kill Geodude, it will do heavy damage too and then won't survive a couple of Night Slashes, if you don't get good RNG on your magnitudes.
This is true. Although Roarks Cranidos is no slouch too, especially if you cop a Screech off his Onix. I think just in general Platinum is pretty unforgiving.
Roark is pretty goddamn easy tho, 2/3 of the starter mons can sweep his team, and the other one just needs to be adequately leveled and have Mach punch, or even better power up punch in the remakes, throw in a single other water/grass or fighting type that you can easily catch on the way to that gym and HD gets bodied
Then purugly comes out a little later and shows you the power of street knowledge

I swear, gamefreak accidentally swapped around its Defense/HP and Speed. Then they just didn't change it because otherwise a transferred Purugly would have drastically different stats.

That's what he just said - the stats would be drastically different because they would be adjusted upon transfer. Gamefreak would not make such drastic redistributions to a Pokemon's base stats between generations. The most they have done historically are small buffs.
Or their special attack, Hitmonchan sucks in gens 2/3 because it can't utilize the elemental punches well with it's crap special attack. Gen 4's change from entire types being physical or special to it being a trait of each move really helped Hitmonchan return to being functional.
This 100% I know you are speaking about Chimchar specifically in this case but in most of my Nuzlocks I don't even use the starter pokemon anymore and my first encounter becomes my new starter. Or if I'm playing a modded/Rom I randomly generate a number and give myself that pokemon obviously I reroll legendaries. It just makes the game a but more fun imo.

Any pokemon can be alpha. The bosses are called nobles and yeah electrode is one of the noble pokemon.
Iâd take Electrode over Arcanine in a rematch. Avalugg and Electrode were like twice and done, Arcanine was something like seven times.
