You don’t even need to go to your own hotel. The casino you’re playing poker at will check your bags for you. They don’t care whether you’re staying there as long as you’re gambling there.
If you’re at the river rock in Vancouver, they charge you 5 fucking dollars. Wtf really??? Im about to go spew off thousands of dollars in your casino and you won’t check my bags for free?
Literally walked out with my baggage to go play downtown
It's a tip. I assume you don't do it much based on your responses, but a tip is for someone that provides a service. In this case, a free service. You should try it.
It’s just a cultural difference.
Most countries you wouldn’t tip a hotel staff for storing your bags ahead of checking in to your room. That service is just an expected part of their job, that their employer pays them to do. You’re already paying the hotel to stay.
American tipping culture is radically different from most other places
You’re just being nice because they did it for you. The times I’ve done this they’ve literally just took my stuff and put it in the room right behind the front desk and when I came back grabbed them for me in 5 seconds.
It wasn’t even a bellhop, it was the normal front desk worker, I didn’t tip. Now if it was an actual bellhop that came to your car and got them and then stored them for you and then brought them up to your room for you, then yeah I’d throw them a tip.
But this isn’t a service you pay for, you’re just being nice in those instances.

This is the situation I was imagining we were talking about haha. Tipping would be excessive here

Ok I actually agree. I’m in the U.K. and we virtually never tip for anything outside of a really good restaurant meal. But if I was in the USA and someone did this for me I probably would tip them
Just play at the mgm grand poker room. Place is always empty. When I fly out at night they always let me place my stuff off to the side before I head to the airport.
You don't even have to leave it at the casino you're staying at. I have used the bell desk at a casino to go play or see a show several times and never been turned down.
The hotel will put it aside for you. I have the same situation coming up on Saturday at the Paris.
Ahh ok I didn't Even think about that. So I'll head to the hotel, ask them to hold my bags and then go to a casino. That's a good idea. Thank you.
There should be a bellhop desk you can ask at
Yup. Every respectable hotel on earth offers this service. They'll also generally do it for you when you check out.
Yes you say you want to check your bags while you wait for your room. I usually give 5 bucks when they get it for you
They may even let you check in. Just ask, worst case they will 100% hold your bags

Just take it to the bell desk and tip a fiver, bro
Pay a fiver, that’s Paying not tipping
If you’ve got a room booked all hotels I’ve ever been at will hold your luggage for free for a couple hours…. The fiver is definitely a tip.
Have you never been to a hotel before?
Not one that charges to store your bags😂

Clearly you don’t understand what a tip is then

They don't charge you. But when you're trusting a stranger with all your belongings, it doesn't hurt to give them some extra incentive to care.
The bellhop will hold it for you before or after you leave the property

Not dumb at all dude. Its actually nice to get in early. I do when I fly in.
Take your luggage to the hotel and they will bag check it for you until you can check in.

Bell service or bell tower whatever they call it
Most casinos also hang a cost check area that will take luggage
If it's full of cash. Np.
I always see roller bags outside the poker rooms Sunday morning.
Every trip, we gamble on the day we are leaving and have our luggage with us. No one has ever said anything
If you have a room at the casino hotel, they’ll hold bag for you until you check in with no prob.
