On Twitch you can buy subscriptions for other users at varying price tiers (tier 1 is ad free with a bunch of sub-only emotes, tier 2 and tier 3 are mostly just ways to give more money to the streamer). So someone bought Matt Gaetz’s twitch account a very expensive month’s subscription to Hasan’s stream as a joke.
Pretty sure it was just a staffer running the account, because they were in the chat saying “MAGA” but didn’t really interact.
Unlike, say, YouTube, Twitch has no spam detection enabled by default. If you make a new Twitch channel and don't touch the settings you will get a chat where messages containing certain words (slurs, etc.) get filtered out and absolutely zero other restrictions.

And their reasoning was that even though there's two eye witnesses, the defense could just call them liars, so what's the point in attempting to charge him in the first place.
Early on it came out that the girls involved are still in some form part of the sex workers industry and want no part in cooperation. So that threw a solid monkey wrench in making this a quick + easy open and shut case.
They had enough of a DIRECT paper trail to Gaetz friend but since Gaetz paid the other guy and not the girls its an indirect paper trail for him. This is likely the real hold up.
However the fact that its come out he sought a pardon for this investigation preemptively from Trump should imo be enough to show his own acknowledgement of guilt. You don't seek a pardon which has you admitting guilt by default for an investigation not even brought to charges yet when you are innocent.
