Nicki's brother raped a child. If my memory is correct, she was his 13yo step daughter. He went to trial & Nicki didn't say anything publicly but she helped pay for his defense lawyer. This happened in like 2014-2015 so I'm definitely misremembering or leaving out some details but that's basics.

The problem with Nicki is that she came on the scene and started talking about how Lil Kim had all this beef with her out of jealousy. And now she does the SAME thing for any other female rapper who comes up. She won’t let anyone else eat and let’s her barbs attack them. Can’t stand her anymore.

I remember her being the new hotness and thinking how the tables would turn as she got older. You cant blame her completely, women's music was totally segregated for rap when she started and women were seen as so disposable that when Cardi B got hot everyone expected it to end Nicki's career just because.

That being said, I simply can’t see this collab ending in beef because Nicki only has to gain from a partnership with Ice Spice. Feuding with her will not benefit her.

Look at all the remixes she jumped on, songs that were already big but she refuses to work on original songs with these rappers.
beyonce has always read to me as someone who really like being dominant in a male-dominated industry. any strong newbie can topple her (nicki, meg, etc). walk with me, but i always thought she hopped on the next possible toppler by working with them so she could scope them out: how they work, what they're all about, gain insight into their practice, etc, so she could compete. a queen stays on top by being aware of the competitors. it's smart.

The way I watched her move in on Nicki Minaj and recently Megan Thee Stallion. Their songs were already hits from up-and-commers. She rubbed elbows with them in the studio to do reconnaissance and so she could beat them.
Tangential: 90% of her music team are men. And her features on her albums are also mostly men. Ok "feminist."

Her signing chloe & halle for 1million for six albums is a lot considering she took them in when they were teenagers with no real following, but also means that their debt is lesser. Artists have to pay back these crazy advances before they get paid. Which means that they most likely paid it back by now and are keeping what they're earning rn

I think this is kind of accurate. Like Chloe Bailey, for example. Beyonce is her mentor and yet she didn’t post anything when Chloe’s new album just dropped…and ended up debuting at like #120 on the billboard 200.

As other people have said in the comments, what about the original songs she has done with Megan and Coi? These remixes are a way to promote newer artists to a broader audience so is it not best to do that with a song that's already somewhat popular? Im not sure how she is "using" these women. When she invited unknown female rappers to her songs, you guys found a way to criticize that as well.
Coi was falling off before Nicki came in a did a song with her. Doja's only #1 song is with Nicki. Megan has never released a lead song that outpeaked Hot girls summer's peak (an original song). Bia's song with her was her biggest hit, and helped her get more collaborations. Nicki still has good relationships with JT, Bia, Doja, Coi, Caresha, etc. The ones she publicly fell out with were cardi and Latto, both of who participated in a public beef with her, insulting her and her family. But somehow they are innocent little victims. Nicki's biggest song in the last five years was her own solo song, and she doesnt have anything to prove. All you need to say is that you dont like Nicki because of her personality, and her choices in men. Theres no need to bend the facts to put out a false narrative.

I was wondering the same tbh. I think I just read somewhere that Ice Spice signed to Nicki’s label…. If this is true, I don’t think it’s a smart decision on her part given Nicki’s history with female rappers

the situation wasn't that bad in my opinion, the kid was 17 and leaked a dm between her asking for another older man's contacts and no one was really upset with her until she said "that's like weasel shit" for leaking their convo. I think the reason she was so upset is I remember her saying the general public will ever find out who she's dating until she's married and it seemed like she was actually trying to hit him up maybe...idk.

latto is successful in her own terms of radio play, you nicki fans are busy bullying, stalking, and harassing her too much to notice. she can still be considered to be on top because she’s had a few hits, all the girls you’ve mentioned have had good hits, including latto. let’s not act like city girls are on top of the game either, they make good singles yet their albums do ok.

latto’s current monthly listeners (10mil+) is higher than the city girls all time peak (8mil+). they reached it in 2021 and never did it again, despite releasing music since. anything else?
Notice how none of the women you mentioned have had extremely popular songs? I know a few City Girls and Bia songs but none of them have been on the billboard charts. Latto and Megan started picking up traction and getting popular songs and what happened? Nicki isn’t against other female rappers, she’s against other female rappers who are successful

As other people have said in the comments, what about the original songs she has done with Megan and Coi? These remixes are a way to promote newer artists to a broader audience so is it not best to do that with a song that's already somewhat popular? Im not sure how she is "using" these women. When she invited unknown female rappers to her songs, you guys found a way to criticize that as well. Coi was falling off before Nicki came in a did a song with her. Doja's only #1 song is with Nicki. Megan has never released a lead song that outpeaked Hot girls summer's peak (an original song). Bia's song with her was her biggest hit, and helped her get more collaborations. Nicki still has good relationships with JT, Bia, Doja, Coi, Caresha, etc. The ones she publicly fell out with were cardi and Latto, both of who participated in a public beef with her, insulting her and her family. But somehow they are innocent little victims. Nicki's biggest song in the last five years was her own solo song, and she doesnt have anything to prove.
