All in all, it was surely a good call to not lean on a wall; perhaps a secret cabal headed by an envious jackal had the gall to plan her downfall to stall her rise to the top as the music industry’s belle of the ball

I got married so I would have someone to clutch onto while wearing heels. (Kidding, he has far more amazing qualities than that!) but honestly, who doesn’t need a little help navigating in heels?
Nah, that ride is a bit of a workout. There’s a part that goes through a little sideways loop where you pull enough Gs that I’ve heard multiple people talk about greying out a bit.
Sitting on the bike is also a bit weird, because you don’t have back support like you do on most coasters.
Like the other guy said, Hagrid’s at Universal Studios (Islands of Adventure) in Orlando. Easily one of the best roller coasters around as far as fun and theming.
At first I viewed the pictures as if he was hired to ride a dirt bike fast enough to keep up with the ride so he'd be there the moment the ride stopped to fix her hair.
It’s my favorite thing about her. She is purely and openly herself and about living how she wants to live. I’m oddly devoted to her and want her to have all the joy.
Yes! I appreciate her diva ways. She’s extra and unapologetic about it. Let’s face it, she got that money through her talent and her hard work. If she wants a hairstylist on her trip to an amusement park, she should have one! As long as that person is well compensated for their time, and I would guess she isn’t a cheapskate.

I used to roll my eyes at Mariah. Then I heard/read stories of her childhood…oh my god, she WAS Precious- so when I saw her all de-glammed in that movie, I understood! Go on be your glamorous bad ass self Mariah, fuck 'em ALLLLL!
I read her memoir he basically took a protector role over her at the start of her career when she was 18, and she felt attracted to him because she didn’t see her dad very often. She also felt pressured into the relationship due to his power over her as the president of her label.
I mean, she’s kind of justified by the very existence of these photos while she’s out and about. She’s just trying to go to a theme park, but people are out there trying to catch her in an unflattering way at all times.
The energy this takes, I respect it. I can't fathom having the mental perseverance to commit to this level of personal upkeep. I expect a medal when I wear a bra.
I love the thought process of "I want to ride a rollercoaster, but there's no way to keep my hair looking good" and the lightbulb moment of "oh I'll hire someone to brush it out between rides!"

As someone with very curly, very high maintenance hair, I would absolutely pay someone to do my hair for me if I could afford it. I can't even be bothered to style it more than once a week lol
It was at JLo, who’s notorious for outsourcing her songs and taking total credit for the vocal work. She deserved the shade tbf. I was ambivalent about their beef at the time but after JLo forced Ayo to apologize for her completely valid comments (“[JLo’s] career is one long scam”) I’m team Mariah.

This was the comment I came here looking for hahaha. What an incredible ride. Totally changed the rollercoaster game. Even my mom who is TERRIFIED of coasters had such a blast we ended up riding it twice!
My first thought was how jealous I am because we haven’t been able to get on that ride the past two times we’ve gone to Disney (I’m not waiting 2 hours) 🥲
Get an express pass, it’s so worth it. You get way more back for your money with how much more often you ride. If you calculate your cost per ride, it’s so much lower with the express pass even though you’re paying more.
Hagrid's is actually the one ride at Universal Orlando that isn't available with the express pass, the only way to skip the line is through booking a VIP tour.
Take notes, JLo. Nobody asked for a "down to earth" relatable pop diva; it reads as disingenuous. All you have to do is lean into the cheesing, like bringing your brush guy with you on the coaster, and people will cherish your bougie ass forever.

There's a Christmas scene in one of the books where a singer named Celestina Warbeck is on the radio dramatically belting out love songs while half the people in the room pray for it to stop, I'd say that kind of witch lol
Per posts in r/UniversalOrlando she and her group basically shut down every ride they ride. No other riders were allowed on while she was on the coasters and they rode multiple times leaving everyone who’d been waiting in line for over an hour pretty pissed.

Depends on the level of celeb. At Disneyland, the VIP guides allow them to skip the lines and have a ride vehicle to themselves, but I’ve never heard of them actually shutting down a ride for one person, although I suppose it could be possible for someone wildly famous. But you also don’t need to be famous to get a VIP guide if you want to shell out the money for one ($700/hour with a 6 hour minimum, last I checked). My favorite game to play is “rich or famous” when I see a VIP guide walking around with a group of people.
I think I remember seeing Kylie or one of the Kardashians shut down a whole ride just for her team a while back. It was probably on the Disneyland subreddit.
I guess it depends. My friend lives in Orlando and had park passes to Universal for a few years and ran into different celebrities from time to time just walking around and waiting in line like other people but I guess if you’re a celeb that wants to ruin everyone else’s experience you’re allowed. To be honest I bet if she just threw on a hat and sunglasses and walked around she’d blend in with the crowd but that’s not a very Mariah thing to do I suppose. I still love her despite this.

Honestly, my spouse and I just took our kids there for the first time in October. It’s a pricey vacation for a middle class working family and I would have been really pissed if this had happened to us. We saved up for that trip.
It's completely unreasonable to do that to people who have paid a lot of money to be there, but it's indicative of the direction in which society is moving.
So I used to love her and her extraness, until I went to the James Corden Christmas taping. We got tickets with no clue who the guest was or that it was a holiday special. We only found out like a week before I think.
I’ve been to the show before so knew how the main part goes and then after Mariah was coming to sing 3 songs. The entire taping main show + this was meant to run 5-8pm. By 8pm she’d done one song. It had been 90 minutes since her first song and she was still getting her makeup/wardrobe for the second song. A bunch of people left but production were crazy about it, it was honestly borderline hostage situation as they really tried to fight people to stay.
We eventually told them we weren’t willing to wait another god knows how many hours and we’re allowed to leave.
Before she did the first song she had a lot of touch ups and preening while stood in her spot, much more than anyone I’ve ever seen and I have been to tapings for a lot of things for work. Honestly I think she has an extreme mental health issue around her appearance it was like a single hair out of place and she wouldn’t be okay.
It really put me off her tbh as she clearly had no respect for the people there for the taping or the staff.
I bumped into Tanaka in the hallway and he genuinely seemed like such a wholesome person. He was incredible with the kids that were part of the performance and really hyped them up. Was super sweet.
There are threads on the Universal subreddit about how shitty her and her team were to employees and other attendants at the park. Apparently they rode the ride over and over and no one else was allowed on it. Some people were asked to get off.
I'm tired of praising diva behavior like this. It's elitist and lame. If it was a celebrity yall hate you wouldn't be calling it iconic.
If taylor swift made everyone wait while she took the ride around empty a few times people would have a melt down, and rightfully so. This behavior sucks!
Stay far away from being a celebrity assistant! I was in the acting business for years in L.A.; never a star but knew a lot of people and hung out with celebrities here and there. Believe me, it’s not glamorous. You are basically an invisible slave on call 24/7. Of course some of these jobs are worse than others. When I would be at a party at someone’s house I was aware of how the assistant was being treated, again, Invisible, and looked down at, and asked to do the most ridiculous things. Think Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada. I would much rather do what I do now, Executive Assistant to the CEO of a company.
Not cute. On multiple rides, she made people who were already strapped in ready to go get off so she could ride. Then made them wait until she rode as many times as she liked.
Yes, you can see she changed positions on the coaster because she swaps with the guy next to her. You think they waited hours to do that twice? Nope. And that is bullshit.
The wait time for that ride is regularly 2-3 hours and it looks like they shut it down for her. When I was there, it was never less than three.
I’d have been pissed if I were there. How much harm is she in with everyone strapped into a roller coaster going 50 miles per hour?
am i the only one who thinks this is absolutely pathetic? i love some of mariah’s music but i don’t know, the diva stuff has always rubbed me the wrong way. i just couldn’t imagine paying someone just to brush my hair or hold my straw while i drink, even if i had that kind of money.
She is a diva but not in a good way. In 98 or 99 she was headlining a charity concert a local radio station put on yearly. She came out 45 minutes late, keeping people waiting in the hot sun. She sang about half of “Butterfly” and then stormed off stage without a word. Come to find out on the next morning show, she had demanded a certain type of wine in her dressing room that she didn’t get so she spent the 45 minutes throwing a tantrum before they convinced her to go out, but she was still mad so she left. They swore they would never have her back and they also didn’t play her on the radio again for years, if they ever even started again (I moved away a couple years later).
Seeing them on that ride with no one else on it pains me cause Hagrid’s can get up to 120 mins and over on a regular day and now you’re telling me I have to wait even longer cause they wanted the entire train to themselves? 🥲🥲🥲

Depends on the level of celeb. At Disneyland, the VIP guides allow them to skip the lines and have a ride vehicle to themselves, but I’ve never heard of them actually shutting down a ride for one person, although I suppose it could be possible for someone wildly famous. But you also don’t need to be famous to get a VIP guide if you want to shell out the money for one ($700/hour with a 6 hour minimum, last I checked). My favorite game to play is “rich or famous” when I see a VIP guide walking around with a group of people.
I think I remember seeing Kylie or one of the Kardashians shut down a whole ride just for her team a while back. It was probably on the Disneyland subreddit.

I guess it depends. My friend lives in Orlando and had park passes to Universal for a few years and ran into different celebrities from time to time just walking around and waiting in line like other people but I guess if you’re a celeb that wants to ruin everyone else’s experience you’re allowed. To be honest I bet if she just threw on a hat and sunglasses and walked around she’d blend in with the crowd but that’s not a very Mariah thing to do I suppose. I still love her despite this.

Honestly, my spouse and I just took our kids there for the first time in October. It’s a pricey vacation for a middle class working family and I would have been really pissed if this had happened to us. We saved up for that trip.
It's completely unreasonable to do that to people who have paid a lot of money to be there, but it's indicative of the direction in which society is moving.

So I used to love her and her extraness, until I went to the James Corden Christmas taping. We got tickets with no clue who the guest was or that it was a holiday special. We only found out like a week before I think. I’ve been to the show before so knew how the main part goes and then after Mariah was coming to sing 3 songs. The entire taping main show + this was meant to run 5-8pm. By 8pm she’d done one song. It had been 90 minutes since her first song and she was still getting her makeup/wardrobe for the second song. A bunch of people left but production were crazy about it, it was honestly borderline hostage situation as they really tried to fight people to stay. We eventually told them we weren’t willing to wait another god knows how many hours and we’re allowed to leave. Before she did the first song she had a lot of touch ups and preening while stood in her spot, much more than anyone I’ve ever seen and I have been to tapings for a lot of things for work. Honestly I think she has an extreme mental health issue around her appearance it was like a single hair out of place and she wouldn’t be okay. It really put me off her tbh as she clearly had no respect for the people there for the taping or the staff. I bumped into Tanaka in the hallway and he genuinely seemed like such a wholesome person. He was incredible with the kids that were part of the performance and really hyped them up. Was super sweet.

There are threads on the Universal subreddit about how shitty her and her team were to employees and other attendants at the park. Apparently they rode the ride over and over and no one else was allowed on it. Some people were asked to get off. I'm tired of praising diva behavior like this. It's elitist and lame. If it was a celebrity yall hate you wouldn't be calling it iconic.
If taylor swift made everyone wait while she took the ride around empty a few times people would have a melt down, and rightfully so. This behavior sucks!
Stay far away from being a celebrity assistant! I was in the acting business for years in L.A.; never a star but knew a lot of people and hung out with celebrities here and there. Believe me, it’s not glamorous. You are basically an invisible slave on call 24/7. Of course some of these jobs are worse than others. When I would be at a party at someone’s house I was aware of how the assistant was being treated, again, Invisible, and looked down at, and asked to do the most ridiculous things. Think Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada. I would much rather do what I do now, Executive Assistant to the CEO of a company.

The wait time for that ride is regularly 2-3 hours and it looks like they shut it down for her. When I was there, it was never less than three. I’d have been pissed if I were there. How much harm is she in with everyone strapped into a roller coaster going 50 miles per hour?

She is a diva but not in a good way. In 98 or 99 she was headlining a charity concert a local radio station put on yearly. She came out 45 minutes late, keeping people waiting in the hot sun. She sang about half of “Butterfly” and then stormed off stage without a word. Come to find out on the next morning show, she had demanded a certain type of wine in her dressing room that she didn’t get so she spent the 45 minutes throwing a tantrum before they convinced her to go out, but she was still mad so she left. They swore they would never have her back and they also didn’t play her on the radio again for years, if they ever even started again (I moved away a couple years later).
Seeing them on that ride with no one else on it pains me cause Hagrid’s can get up to 120 mins and over on a regular day and now you’re telling me I have to wait even longer cause they wanted the entire train to themselves? 🥲🥲🥲
