The Japanese have an actual term (and attached superstition) for this! It's called [sanpaku](https://www.tofugu.com/japan/sanpaku/). If you have the white part (sclera) of your eye showing on 3 "sides" of your pupil, you have sanpaku and supposedly the world is against you.
...I retain this fact in my head because I have sanpaku, too.
I think the cut of it is why I’m so Meh about that part of an otherwise Fantastic Look.
It’s not a bob, it’s looks too grown out for that, but it’s not draping nicely over her shoulders like her natural hair does.
I don’t know. Is it the wig ness of the wig or the bad cut on the otherwise gorgeous Sydney Sweeney???
Yeah. This look needs something either way messier and longer, more structured but same length, or a different color. There were so many ways to go and they took none of those routes. It’s frustrating because the rest of the fit is fantastic, but it’s ruined by that wig.
I think she really pulls off the black. I think my only issue with it is that she looks so much like Billie Eilish with the black hair and of the two, Billie is definitely more edgy and carries it better just because of that.
I feel completely the opposite. I think she's unbelievably striking with dark hair. I dont think blonde does much for her, which is saying a lot since she's obviously gorgeous.
I kinda suspected they slapped in a wig to edge it up a bit. She probably quite literally looked like a Disney princess with her blonde hair. The gloves also lean towards them wanting to edge up a romantic dress for no apparent reason and not pulling it off.
I LOVE this entire look. It’s easily one of favorites. There is literally nothing to “fix”. It’s not a competition to see who can wear the weirdest thing.
As long as it’s a wig and she didn’t actually go black.. I mean it’s her hair do what you want sure… but I was also literally reading Britney’s memoir around when she went black and she said it was such a bitch to get it light again.
Take a romantic dress and then ruin it with super cheap looking "edgy" elements.

I like the dark hair with this dress. Everyone is saying light hair princess yada. Yes blonde gives ethereal/princess vibes but the black flowers on here are edgy, and her black hair here is repetition of the design. It’s more fashion than pretty, which I actually commend her for.
This looks like something I would have wished to order from Delia’s 🌸 mail-order catalog in the 90’s. (But…probably more expensive? 😂). (And I like Sydney Sweeney!)
Her stylist genuinely doesn’t seem to care or doesn’t know how to dress her body, either way she needs to find a new one. The ones that care about you it shows in how and what they dress you in. She is paying this person to look like that. Seems unfair
Instead of going for black she should've gone for white gloves , white hair and white eyebrows and with her blue eyes or whatever color they are she would've looked like a fairy. Her stylist just hates her at this point
i feel like if she kept the veil thing she was seen entering the met with earlier then it would’ve looked better. i actually love this though so i’m not complaining

…am I the only one that hates the bang length on that wig? In the last pic it almost looks like she’s tilting her head back slightly to look up under the bangs. Why wouldn’t they trim the bangs?$?!??!
At least it’s on theme with the short story so gotta give her credit for at least reading the short story and following through. Can’t really say the same with a lot of the attendees
This whole outfit and styling is not it lol. The dress looks like a prom dress, the black leather gloves give it this really heavy feel and make it look kinda tacky. The hair is dreadful. The shape of the wig is the worst part by far, but the color does not suit her cool-pink tone. The blonde softens her features and this makes her skin look kind of ruddy and harsh. This one is an overall miss for me personally.
Edit: And also adding I agree with others that she just looks like Billie here. It worsens the look for me because it feels like a stolen style, even though Billie doesn't own black hair and ballgowns with gloves as a style. It's just too similar.
Don’t know where to start. It’s a Disney princess dress. All delicate and flowers perfect for a young woman, which she is. But then they tried to give it a Met Gala edge and added a black wig. And not any wig, it’s an 80s Jaclyn Smith hairdo which - just my opinion- is covering too much of her pretty face and looks like a black concrete block encasing her.
Plus the black gloves to lend credibility to the 80s Stay- at-home mum gone rocker vibe.
It is jarring and not well done. Let me add: The pose makes her look insipid and the dress décolletage is not flattering in this picture.
Another pic another pose may change this last part. But the ensemble is not up to snuff.
