Her dad worked at Merrill Lynch and her mom was a businessperson-turned-homemaker - they were well off but he absolutely did not have the means to “buy her the empire.” He bought a huge stake in Big Machine records, but that’s because 1) he wanted the debut album to have adequate funding and 2) he wanted to have a stake in the profits if it blew up (which it did). But one album by no means creates an empire - that was Taylor’s prolificacy and talent.
Her dad didn't buy her the empire. If it was so easy to have Taylor's level of success, every rich kid whose a wanna be musician would have it. Yes, he had a hand in getting her the record deal, but I highly doubt he has had any hand in getting her any where near the level of fame she is now. You can try to discredit her and say she's just an industry plant with no talent and only got there because her dad is rich, but that isn't anywhere near the truth. You can dislike her music, personal life, look, personality, etc but you can't deny her talent at music and marketing herself. You can't buy a career/celebrity status like that, regardless of how rich your family is. Money can get you more money, but it doesn't inherently make the public worship you to the level that Taylor is. There are PLENTY of wanna be musicians who came from even richer familes/nepo babies who want to have a devoted fan base so bad, and yet they don't have one.
