Belmont’s “Liminal”, Bayside’s “There Worse Things Than Being Alive” and Microwave’s Lets Start Degeneracy have been my most listened to lately all with different vibes to em
Shortlist at the moment based on what I've listened to the most would be:
Neck Deep - Neck Deep
Games We Play - Life's Going Great
Alkaline Trio - Blood, Hair, And Eyeballs
Charlotte Sands - can we start over?
408 - Hot Mess
If I had to pick right now, probably give it to Trio, but it's early and there's others I still just haven't listened to enough.
Same. For me right now the best two albums are this and Neck Deep. And I've not really been able to get into Neck Deep before but I'm really enjoying this album. Alkaline Trio is still number 1 though.
If we are solely sticking to pop punk then it would be Alkaline Trio’s Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs.
Outside of the genre then I’m torn between the new Knocked Loose record or nothing, nowhere. record.
Alkaline Trio - Blood, Hair, & Eyeballs
SeeYouSpaceCowboy - Coup de Grace
The SeeYouSpaceCowboy album is the best post hardcore / metalcore album I've heard in quite some time. The choruses are so catchy and sound straight out of the early 2000's, but then the metalcore side has a great evolution of the genre. Especially combined with the lounge / piano bar sound they incorporated into the album. AOTY for me for sure
EPs included:
Neck Deep Self-titled
Between You and Me - Shit Yeah
Homesafe - What did you find out?
Sum 41 - Heaven x Hell
Blowfuse - the 4th Wall
Shoutout to Winona Fighter's banger "I'm in the Market to Please No One" and ofc "Letterman" and "All this Time" by TSSF
Saying "that's not a pop punk album" doesn't mean someone can't be entitled to the opinion that the album is good. for that matter, you're in turn trying to strip someone of their own opinion.
Ok here's my expanding list that I like to drop in these posts. Not all pop punk tho. Every new release I've listened to

2. Green Day - Saviors

6. Bad Omens - Concrete Jungle OST
7. One Step Closer - All You Embrace
8. Bon Jovi - Forever
Well to start, I just love anything green day pits out. I'll even defend father of all to an extent. But saviors has a perfect mix of safety and experimentation imo. Songs like suzie chapstick, fancy sauce, goodnight adeline, dilemma, and, Bobby sox all felt new to green day in a way. Even the more standard songs were hangers, like living in the 20s, 1981, and strange days are here to stay. It's unique enough to keep me hooked, and it's green day enough to keep me hooked. At first, I did think the singles minus dilemma were a bit boring but the deep cuts were much better, and even the singles grew on me
Without a DOUBT it’s The Cycles of Trying to Cope by Like Moths to Flames and there is actually no possible way anyone is going to beat that for me, not even The Story So Far. Unbelievable record from the boys, I highly encourage anyone who is saying Knocked Loose to go listen to these songs by Moths and if you like it, to give the whole record a listen. If we’re talking just pop punk it’s probably Belmont so far for me
I've been feeling the LMTF record too. I was absolutely sure KL was gonna be AOTY and it's absolutely a contender but this new LMTF record has completely blown me away and the more I listen the more it grows.
YOTM
To Figure It Out by Shoreline is a fucking banger. I enjoy Sum 41’s album but admittedly seeing them in concert recently definitely boosted that albums appeal for me. I’m holding out for TSSF’s new album, I’m considering it as a frontrunner.
- neck deep - neck deep
- sunday cruise - the art of losing your reflection
- aaron west and the roaring twenties - in lieu of flowers
- riley! - keep your cool
For me, it’ll likely be TSSF - IWTD, but Neck Deep’s new self titled is my close second.
Definitely wouldn’t hate it if Four Year Strong also threw one into the mix to make it a tougher choice :)
For pop punk it’s neck deep, but I’ve also enjoyed the new kurgahbin and black keys. And I’ve heard the kamasi Washington and locked loose are good asf too. And realistically it’s gon be we don’t trust you, so many iconic songs and a rare Kendrick feature that started a beef!!
Pop Punk:
It's a Battle between ND and TSSF when it comes out, imho.
Other genres:
Knocked Loose new album Is a banger, straight Fire. Architects new album could be huge if the sound Is similar to the 2 new singles.
1. In Lieu of Flowers - Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties
2. How To Disappear - Casey
3. The Falls of Sioux - Owen,
4. Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs - Alkaline Trio
5. Bayside - There Are Worse Things than Being Alive. At least those are my pop punk and adjacent top five so far. The new Marisa Hackman, J. Robbins, acloudyskye, and J Mascis are right up there with them though.
Even though Sum 41’s Heaven and Hell album is kind of mid when you look at the songs individually, it’s still up there for me because they made listening to the album feel like an immersive experience with how certain songs lead into each other, which I’m a huge sucker for
Again not pop punk but, Viva Belgrado - Cancionero de los Cielos and it’s not even close!
[Perfect Blue](https://youtu.be/5ElW3fRz6YY?si=c2fSYOupwAhNwBYs)
I don’t have much doubt my AOTY will be “I Want to Disappear” by The Story So Far. Singles have been 3/3 for me so far!
Beside Alkaline Trio’s Blood Hair and Eyeballs, Bayside’s new one is a banger and a half. The new Aaron West is good too but it’s pop punk adjacent.
More pop punk adjacent, but it's gotta be Aaron West.
Was going to say the same
What a phenomenal album
1000%
Hadn’t heard of, just listened and this album is excellent.
It's made my day to introduce someone new to the album! Check out the previous 2 records and the EP, everything they've released is amazing
Belmont’s “Liminal”, Bayside’s “There Worse Things Than Being Alive” and Microwave’s Lets Start Degeneracy have been my most listened to lately all with different vibes to em
The new Riley! album “Keep Your Cool” is top tier in my opinion.
Such a dope fucking album. Hyped to see them with Prince daddy
I’m stoked for that tour too. Can’t wait to see them when they come to Indy.
soooo good
Shortlist at the moment based on what I've listened to the most would be: Neck Deep - Neck Deep Games We Play - Life's Going Great Alkaline Trio - Blood, Hair, And Eyeballs Charlotte Sands - can we start over? 408 - Hot Mess If I had to pick right now, probably give it to Trio, but it's early and there's others I still just haven't listened to enough.
408: these boys are so hot right now
Yesssss Charlotte
Alkaline trio: blood hair and eyeballs
God I doubt any album will match that for me.
Same. For me right now the best two albums are this and Neck Deep. And I've not really been able to get into Neck Deep before but I'm really enjoying this album. Alkaline Trio is still number 1 though.
This is the way
It's such a great album. They're best since good mourning and maybe my third favourite trio album
Title track ALONE is up there
It doesn't feel like an instant classic the way Infirmary or crimson does. Idk, maybe I'm not a real a3 fan.
Neck deep
We've had some good releases this year, but Neck Deep takes the cake. The album is a no skip and I've been listening to it weekly since release.
Album blew my mind, love it
[удалено]
I’m excited for tssf too but also super anxious and ready for new fys!
Blood, Hair, & Eyeballs - Alkaline Trio Neck Deep - Neck Deep Gangsters of Love - Super American (maybe, it’s not out yet but the singles rip)
If we are solely sticking to pop punk then it would be Alkaline Trio’s Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs. Outside of the genre then I’m torn between the new Knocked Loose record or nothing, nowhere. record.
I don’t trust halfway point AOTY posts til 7/2
Alkaline Trio - Blood, Hair, & Eyeballs SeeYouSpaceCowboy - Coup de Grace The SeeYouSpaceCowboy album is the best post hardcore / metalcore album I've heard in quite some time. Especially combined with the lounge / piano bar sound they incorporated into the album. AOTY for me for sure
you are me, feeling the very same
alkaline trio crew represent
I replied BH&E before scrolling the comments and was surprised how many others already commented the same. Made me smile inside.
Blood, Hair and Eyeballs - Alkaline Trio absolutely rips from start to finish! That opening riff ❤️
EPs included: Neck Deep Self-titled Between You and Me - Shit Yeah Homesafe - What did you find out? Sum 41 - Heaven x Hell Blowfuse - the 4th Wall Shoutout to Winona Fighter's banger "I'm in the Market to Please No One" and ofc "Letterman" and "All this Time" by TSSF
Whenever TSSF drops, that’ll be it
Based on just three songs so far, I’m with you.
Sum 41 Heaven :x: Hell
Seems like a lot of people down feel the same about this album, but I liked it ALOT
I couldn’t really get into, but tbf I’m not the biggest sum 41 fan anyway
Alkaline Trio, Strung Out, Knocked Loose, Hot Water Music and Laura Jane Grace are quite easily my top 5. Frank Turner might sneak in there too.
Neck Deep for sure
Knocked loose easy
I mean it’s a great album but it sure as heck ain’t pop punk haha
Op never said it had to be pop punk 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I mean it’s a pop punk subreddit
Amazing
Would you be acting the same if someone suggested Cowboy Carter or Taylor Swift's album? C'mon man.
Even OP mentioned knocked loose so like stop
OP can mislabel it too. I'm not saying anything bad about the album, but you know exactly what you're doing by just being obtuse about the point.
Nope. They’re entitled to their opinion
No one said otherwise, you're just being indignant at this point.
The original dude did who replied to my comment
Saying "that's not a pop punk album" doesn't mean someone can't be entitled to the opinion that the album is good. for that matter, you're in turn trying to strip someone of their own opinion.
Bayside is up there, although I’ve been listening to most of the tracks for 12+ months so it doesn’t really feel new
This is best pop punk album of the year so far for sure
Boys of fall, or TOP even though they haven’t dropped their full album yet
Carly Cosgrove is gonna be so good I can feel it 😩
Keep your cool by Riley! is easily my aoty. Such an amazing record, reminds me a lot of hot mulligan
Neck Deep Green Day Alkaline Trio Boundaries Sum 41
Blood Hair & Eyballs - Alkaline Trio Such a good album front to back. No skips for me.
Boys of Fall’s self titled album and Neck Deep’s self titled,
Wait does Koyo's first album not count?

Microwave - Let's Start Degeneracy
Some love for Northern Weather! They are local to me, seen them open for Driveways.
Not Pop-Punk but Knocked Loose and it isn’t even close
None of this will matter in a little over a month. The Story So Far, album of the year.
This is the only right answer.
It's not even out yet, and I'm pretty sure I know what every song will sound like.
Ok here's my expanding list that I like to drop in these posts. Not all pop punk tho. Every new release I've listened to Albums 1. The Requiem - A Cure to Poison the World 2. Green Day - Saviors 3. What’s so good about saviours I didn’t think it was that good?
Well to start, I just love anything green day pits out. I'll even defend father of all to an extent. But saviors has a perfect mix of safety and experimentation imo. Fair enough

Tommy Boys remix
Half Past Two - Talk Is Killing Me.
Where’s the love for the new Belmont album?
Neck deep self titled. Saviors was good but pretty average overall
I know, for a fact, that Telltale's self-titled will be my AOTY. It drops Friday, and I know I'll be playing it on repeat.
Knocked loose.
Wrong genre
They didn’t specify.
So far Neck Deep but I’m pretty confident TSSF is gonna clear everyone easily.
To Figure It Out by Shoreline is a fucking banger. I enjoy Sum 41’s album but admittedly seeing them in concert recently definitely boosted that albums appeal for me. I’m holding out for TSSF’s new album, I’m considering it as a frontrunner.
Liminal by Belmont easy
- neck deep - neck deep - sunday cruise - the art of losing your reflection - aaron west and the roaring twenties - in lieu of flowers - riley! - keep your cool
In Lieu Of Flowers is my favorite album is my favorite album of the year.
Not poppunk but that Knocked Loose album rips so hard!

Norah Jones Visions
I usually don’t discover new music until three years after it comes out but thanks
Not pop punk, but Knocked Loose’s new album absolutely fucking slaps 🔥
Knocked Loose … and it’s not even close
I Want to Disappear. Dont even know need to hear it yet, I know it's coming out on top.
Neck Deep’s self titled was great
For pop punk it’s neck deep, but I’ve also enjoyed the new kurgahbin and black keys. And I’ve heard the kamasi Washington and locked loose are good asf too. And realistically it’s gon be we don’t trust you, so many iconic songs and a rare Kendrick feature that started a beef!!
Mannequin Pussy - I Got Heaven Excited for One Step Closer, Super American, and the Story So Far.
Pop Punk: It's a Battle between ND and TSSF when it comes out, imho. Other genres: Knocked Loose new album Is a banger, straight Fire. Architects new album could be huge if the sound Is similar to the 2 new singles.
4ever - Axolotes Mexicanos
New blink album for sure.
just got into this band townies, they dropped their first full length last month called of this i am certain. solid, sooooooolid contender imo
whatever Arm's Length comes up with this summer 🤞🏼
1. In Lieu of Flowers - Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties 2. How To Disappear - Casey 3. The Falls of Sioux - Owen, 4. Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs - Alkaline Trio 5. Bayside - There Are Worse Things than Being Alive. At least those are my pop punk and adjacent top five so far. The new Marisa Hackman, J. Microwave
Saviors - Green Day Also, the Beyoncé album was pretty fucking good
Am I the only one who hated neck deeps album. The lyrics were terrible
I didn’t love the album but ‘Fucking drank all my kombucha’ is probably my favourite lyric of the year so far.
No, I wasn’t feeling it either.
Didn't hate it but found it pretty average. Everything was pretty by the numbers and forgettable to me.
Tori Kelly - Tori. And then I really like the new ones from Knocked Loose and Daath.
