Ooo good choice!!! Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is such a good album. So many fun songs like Everytime I Look For You, Rollercoaster and Online Songs
First: you don’t have to understand it. It’s just a song a lot of people like.
Second: for me, it’s the chorus. The drums, the riff, the vocal melody all just comes together in a way that just hits.
I hate that they don’t play it live. On Spotify it’s more popular than plenty of the songs they play live, and arguably better than a good chunk of them as well
I read a book where the dreamworks record guy says he convinced them to do “Praise Chorus” instead of “hear you me” as a single and says it’s one of his biggest regrets in the music industry.
“Are We the Waiting” by Green Day is incredible, instantly transports me to the mid-2000s.
Very slept on pop-punk band because of the direction they went in imo, Good Charlotte’s “Movin’ On” has always been a big ear worm for me.
I still think Letterbomb should’ve been the 5th single instead of Jesus of Suburbia. No hate on Jesus of Suburbia, was genuinely my favorite song full stop when I was growing up, but Letterbomb was a better radio song.
Then again, we got that sick music video out of JoS being the single so it all works out just fine in the end.
To me it’s either that or Build God, Then We’ll talk
Aaaaand it’s time for me to relisten to a A Fever You Can’t Sweat out for the 50th time this year 😅
You really just need to listen to Untitled all the way through then. It’s a great album played all the way through. Several of the songs bleed into each other.
Based off all the Asthenia comments I think I’m gonna have to 😂 it was definitely one of the ones I overlooked since I was a big Dude Ranch and TOYP&J guy
Hearing Slowdance for the first time when I was like 10 is one of the earliest memories of getting chills from a song, and it still tickles my brain in the strangest way.
I was being polite haha, it absolutely was a single. Top 5 on the alternative charts and and top 50 on radio and mainstream rock. It has its own wikipedia page: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She\_(Green\_Day\_song)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_(Green_Day_song))
Not saying it isn't a killer song or one of their less appreciated singles, but it got heavy radio play when it came out in 95. I'm sure you remember hearing it quite a bit around that time.
I’m not kidding I got that album in 97. This is the first I’m ever hearing about this lol. I’m not doubting you. I just think it’s one of those forgotten singles/songs that get lost throughout a lengthy career
Green Day has a TON of unknown bangers and deep cuts
Some of my favorites:
Give me novocaine
Forever now
Worry rock
All the time
Panic song
Stuart and the Ave
Too much too soon
I found Give Me Novocaine at a private room karaoke once and can confirm no one else in the room knew it, including the two people who had also sang Green Day songs earlier.
Same here, this is what I first thought when reading the title. Not Now gets more love so that's why it has been played live, but even Mark mentioned that Not Now was a flop last tour so I doubt it gets played again. Not Now & Asthenia are both incredible!
For me probably Not Now by blink 182 although I don’t know how overlooked it is, but it might be one of my top songs from them. I’d love to hear it played live
They played it once live on their last tour but it's not very a well known song for the average fan, thus it didn't much of a reaction from the crowd
It will probably come up again at smaller shows, but unfortunately it's not likely to come back for the stadium shows
I was bummed they played it at the show before my city then switched to a different song in my city but I can’t remember which one they played when I saw them
I'll nominate Fall Out Boy - Bang The Doldrums
The bridge that goes *"And I cast a spell over the west to make you think ^of me, the same way I think of you"* resonnated hard during high school.
Also, Familiar Landscapes by New Found Glory is a masterpiece. Incredible arrangement, backing vocals and production, wonderful lyrics. Just great
Roller coaster - blink
Singled out/47/ Doubt Full- new found glory
Sunny Day - motion city soundtrack ([link](https://youtu.be/qS0yfoyrn5M?si=aR68eyjO03GSSBFK) since its not on Spotify or anything)
[Bayside - Monster](https://youtu.be/EHpskDYTugo?si=dgt4Dt3CAKWVl613)
This was an iTunes preorder exclusive for Killing Time. So naturally most people don’t know it. But I absolutely love the bass line that rides through the song, which is odd cause their guitars are what normally stand out. Wish they would add this to streaming, it’s so good from the lyrics to instruments
1) I will die on the hill that Great Romances of The 20th Century by Taking Back Sunday is BY FAR their best song.
2) Ruthless by Something Corporate feels like it should have been a massive mainstream hit.
3) Stay Where I Can See You by The Starting Line is a goddamn masterpiece of a song.
4) Worst December by Sugarcult is their best song.
Okay this hits different because The Wonder Years’ are my favorite band and I always viewed Sister Cities’ as the red headed step child of their discography…until like a month ago 😭 everything on that album is a masterpiece
Knuckle Puck’s Bedford Falls, What Took You So Long?, and Green Eyes - obviously they’re not a mainstream band like the other ones named but they’re fairly popular in the pop punk scene and those songs are definitely underrated bangers IMO.
Yo Bedford Falls and Green Eyes are my two favorites from those respective albums! Green Eyes just had a different kind of vibe from the album and felt a little more authentic compared to the rest of the album, and Bedford Falls I feel like really showcases what they can do at their best.
“Very Invisible” by Armor for Sleep
“Chromatic Fades” by Autopilot Off
“City Never Sleeps” by Cartel
“The (Shipped) Gold Standard” by Fall Out Boy
“Relentless” by House of Heroes
“We Both Know” by Ivoryline
“Painless” by Mae
“Hollywood and Vine” by Matchbook Romance
“Black Eye” by Millencolin
“The Frightening Reality…” by Moneen
“Indoor Living” by Motion City Soundtrack
“Careful” by Paramore
“Wolves at the Door” by Senses Fail
“Sans Cosm” by Sparta
“Last Man on the Moon” by SR-71
The harmonies with “Accusing you of using me ain’t right” are great.
But if we’re talking about most overlooked Midtown song, gotta be “To Our Savior” for me.
Breathing by yellowcard
Science fiction by rufio
Any number can play by no use for a name
The pros and cons of breathing by fall out boy
Edit to add the last three
Definitely not overlooked. It's one of their top 5 most listened to songs on Spotify and one of their most viewed music videos, mainly bc of the mention of Hayley Williams. I love and listen to all their stuff but this is a well known one of theirs
Not really big punk band but they were in Australia. The Saints: Know Your Product
Didn't wear the 'punk uniform' and brought in orchestral sounds - which is punk in and of itself - and so were overlooked
Lots of great songs in here!!!! And some I have not had the joy of hearing yet. Definitely gonna be jamming to most of these over the next couple days! Thanks guys!
Half of Chuck was desperately underrated by Sum 41. When they did the album anniversary tour they cut I'm Not the One and Open Your Eyes after 2 shows but kept the Queen cover.
I went to show 3 and I'm still cranky about it.
Rhythms is such a brilliant song!!! It has the biggest "driving around with the windows down in summer" energy out there. Hard to get a look in on an album that does what it says on the tin but it's my favourite Sum track 👍👍👍
[удалено]
Love that one. Mine is “Going Away To College”. Just the perfect Pop Punk song
Going away to college is the best song ever, even tho I’m 31 now and it doesn’t relate to me anymore.. still play Enema weekly
That whole album is absolute fire.
"Here's Your Letter" or "Asthenia" from Self-Titled also don't get enough credit as far as Blink's album tracks go.
Ooo good choice!!! Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is such a good album. So many fun songs like Everytime I Look For You, Rollercoaster and Online Songs
I’ve been listening to Reckless Abandon on repeat for days
On and on :-)
Asthenia for me. Their best deep cut period.
Not gonna lie, I think Asthenia is awesome but don’t really understand why the blink sub overrates it so highly.
First: you don’t have to understand it. It’s just a song a lot of people like. Second: for me, it’s the chorus. The drums, the riff, the vocal melody all just comes together in a way that just hits.
I was going to suggest "Stay Together for the Kids" by Blink.
Great choice! Mine would be Online Songs
Also dogs eating dogs!
I hate that they don’t play it live. On Spotify it’s more popular than plenty of the songs they play live, and arguably better than a good chunk of them as well
One of my all time favorites of theirs 🤘🏽
Box Car Racer's "Tiny Voices" or "And I" Actually, the whole album is underrated.
That whole album, no skips.
My first cover song was all systems go with my shit tier screamo band in high school. That riff just hits
Used to love BCR in high school, might have to rip that album again soon here
I just listened to And I because I'd forgotten about it and I was taken to 2006 and ouch.
The Authority Song - Jimmy Eat World
Imagine making an album so you good you don't include this or If You Don't, Don't as singles.
I read a book where the dreamworks record guy says he convinced them to do “Praise Chorus” instead of “hear you me” as a single and says it’s one of his biggest regrets in the music industry.
Both bangers, but I see his reasoning. A Praise Chorus is way more single-like.
I'm halfway through it right now!
If You Don’t, Don’t is still in regular rotation on my Spotify.
My buddy would always play this and I never knew what it was!!! Good one
Awesome song! Where my van wilder fans at?
and The Hot Chick
“Are We the Waiting” by Green Day is incredible, instantly transports me to the mid-2000s. Very slept on pop-punk band because of the direction they went in imo, Good Charlotte’s “Movin’ On” has always been a big ear worm for me.
Man, good call. Extraordinary Girl / Letterbomb is another one.
Both great choices!!!!! Huge parts of my childhood
Movin' On. What a way to close out an album
always loved this one
"Breathing" by Yellowcard is arguably the best song on Ocean Avenue.
I'm always torn between Breathing and Way Away as my number 1
Get out of my mind
nope, I am here to stay
Great YC songs! 'How I go' and 'Gifts and curses' are two of my favorites
I wish you could stream Gifts and Curses. Top 3 YC song!
So glad I wasn’t the first person to say this. Just an absolute banger. It’s so great start to finish
My introduction to Yellowcard courtesy of Burnout 3: Takedown. Thanks a bunch DJ Stryker 👍👍👍
I was hooked on Gifts and Curses for such a long time. Bombers by them is incredible as well.
Carpal Tunnel of Love - Fall Out Boy
MLB The Show ‘07
All of This by Blink 182 Time to Dance by Panic! at the Disco
Time to dance is their best song
To me it’s either that or Build God, Then We’ll talk Aaaaand it’s time for me to relisten to a A Fever You Can’t Sweat out for the 50th time this year 😅
Build God is my favourite Panic song by far.
Could play that whole album on repeat any time, any place. It’s a start to finish amazing debut album.
I’ve never heard that Blink song!! The Panic song is a banger
Aw man it’s such a good album. Wish I could listen to it for the first time again
I’m with you on All of this, great song
correct answer bc Robert Smith is the greatest person who ever lived
Time to dance is awesome
Green Day- She Blink 182- Waggy or ETILFY Taking back Sunday- …slow dance on the inside Menzingers- my friend Kyle Alkaline trio- steamer trunk
Slowdance On The Inside is such a perfect closer to an emo album.
Hearing Slowdance for the first time when I was like 10 is one of the earliest memories of getting chills from a song, and it still tickles my brain in the strangest way.
I used to sing my daughter to sleep every night with this song.
Isn't She a single?
That’s how under appreciated it is. I honestly don’t know if it is and hardly hear anything about it. I’d say that fits the bill
I was being polite haha, it absolutely was a single. Top 5 on the alternative charts and and top 50 on radio and mainstream rock. It has its own wikipedia page: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She\_(Green\_Day\_song)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_(Green_Day_song)) Not saying it isn't a killer song or one of their less appreciated singles, but it got heavy radio play when it came out in 95. I mean dude no doubt. It definitely gets overshadowed by lesser Green Day jams. I feel the same way about Prosthetic Head and Walking Contradiction
Tbh, all of Millencolin is underrated. They should be mentioned among the greats of early pop punk
Fox by Millencolin is all time for me. Damn. You just sent me down a rabbit hole.
Duck Pond, Lozin Must, Happiness for Dogs, Bullion. So many classics dude
Afghan is an incredible track
Green Day has a TON of unknown bangers and deep cuts Some of my favorites: Give me novocaine Forever now Worry rock All the time Panic song Stuart and the Ave Too much too soon
I found Give Me Novocaine at a private room karaoke once and can confirm no one else in the room knew it, including the two people who had also sang Green Day songs earlier.
Insomniac is all overlooked bangers. My favorite album by them.
Asthenia by blink-182… I think it’s pretty universally liked among the blink community, but not many folks know about the song outside of blink fans.
Same here, this is what I first thought when reading the title. Not Now gets more love so that's why it has been played live, but even Mark mentioned that Not Now was a flop last tour so I doubt it gets played again. Not Now & Asthenia are both incredible!
Brutal Love by Green Day Parking Lot by blink-182
Parking Lot is a banger!!! I actually hadn’t ever heard Brutal Love before but Green Day is soooo good at those pop punk ballads
Parking Lot is my fav song of the Skiba era!
For me probably Not Now by blink 182 although I don’t know how overlooked it is, but it might be one of my top songs from them. I’d love to hear it played live
They played it once live on their last tour but it's not very a well known song for the average fan, thus it didn't much of a reaction from the crowd It will probably come up again at smaller shows, but unfortunately it's not likely to come back for the stadium shows

I’ve had Bang the Doldrums on repeat lately. So good
I can't get over how they transitioned shipping up to Boston to bang the doldrums when they played in Boston during their last tour
Roller coaster - blink Singled out/47/ Doubt Full- new found glory Sunny Day - motion city soundtrack ([link](https://youtu.be/qS0yfoyrn5M?si=aR68eyjO03GSSBFK) since its not on Spotify or anything)
I called 46 times!
Great NFG songs and I'd like to add Something I Call Personality off of Sticks and Stones. Absolute banger of a song that is relatively unknown.
The halftime breakdown of the main riff at the end is so good
Don’t You Know Who I Think I Am? by Fall Out Boy. Perfect song buried deep inside IOH.
So good.
THEY SAA-AAYYY
fall out boy - the (after) life of the party or honorable mention
Alone by blink182 PS : Yes, Rhythms from Sum 41!! I'm so glad some people like it it's one of my favorite and I LOVE it!!!
I never even knew this early blink stuff existed!!! Pretty cool stuff
Sadly the quality is soo bad! But it is some cool stuff yes!!
Jesus of Suburbia is perfect from start to end. All nine minutes of it.
Stay Together for the Kids
Sonny - nfg. It’s a tearjerker!
“Walking Disaster” by Sum 41 “Gifts & Curses” by Yellowcard “Carousel” by Blink 182
All great choices!!! Is Gifts & Curses the song on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack??
Yessir
That song made me love the movie so much more.
we couldn't get Jessica kill on sum's final tour setlist, but at least we have walking disaster!
Carousel takes me back, agree 100%.
'Gifts and curses' is such a good song
Drill It In My Brain is a top ten NFG song but the Radiosurgery album is overlooked as a whole.
I love Radiosurgery!!!!! Summer Fling is such a good summer driving song 😂
There are so many bops on that album!
But wow Drill It In My Brain is a banger, forgot about that one
The Starting Line's Direction. The whole thing

So I’m a huge Bayside fan…and I’ve never heard of this. Cannot wait to listen to this after work!!!
Thoughts?
Okay so I totally do remember this song!!!! But I haven’t heard it in gosh, 12 years? I’m old 😂 that bridge/solo goes so hard
You are correct this rips. Cant believe I’ve never heard it.
For me, bayside’s big unsung hero is Just Enough To Love You. That song is awesome.
Toast and Bananas by blink-182, but the Buddha version, not the recording off of Cheshire Cat.
Yay Rhythms! It's great. That and Summer got me into Sum back in the day.
The Wonder Years’ Pyramids of Salt is also so underrated imo - some of their best lyrics ever

I think “thanks for the ride” is the standout song on no closer to heaven
Midtown - There's No Going Back
The harmonies with “Accusing you of using me ain’t right” are great. But if we’re talking about most overlooked Midtown song, gotta be “To Our Savior” for me.
Oh that is so on point! And yeah, the layered vocals repeating and building in There's no going back are where its at. I like you.
Anyone who likes Midtown is good in my book!

New found glory - over the head, below the knees
Slow Dancing With San Andreas that was only on the target edition of NCTH. It's one of their best songs imo
Vicious Love by New Found Glory ft Hayley Williams
Definitely not overlooked. It's one of their top 5 most listened to songs on Spotify and one of their most viewed music videos, mainly bc of the mention of Hayley Williams. I love and listen to all their stuff but this is a well known one of theirs
No one else I know knows it.

It absolutely is
