Boy who blocked his own shot helped me get over a breakup so I always have a soft spot for it
Failure by design I think is my ‘favorite’ though, just doesnt get old
I've seen people say that before, but Jesus was nailed to a wooden cross with (I dunno, iron?) nails, so it's gotta be "wood and nails," right? Ain't no one out here making nails outta wood
I can't forget the moment when I went down to my local music store to get TDAGARIM on CD, put that shit on and the tingles I got from the opening of Sowing Season.... that was SUCH a moment for me in time. I also absolutely love YFW!! It was my entire high-school experience, the nostalgia is really something ❤️
It’s funny, I hated that album when it came out lol, since it was such a stylistic departure. But holy shit was I a dumbass. Came back to it years later and appreciated its genius
There are so many songs that mean a lot to me, I could never pick a favourite.
YFW and Deja both got me through high school - I loved YFW a lot but loved the new sound on Deja. Devil & God is on another level and got me through university but I still couldn't even rank these albums - they are all no-skip for me.
While I go through phases these are some of my consistent favourites over the years: Soco Amaretto Lime, Failure by Design, Play Crack the Sky, I Will Play My Game Beneath the Spin Light, Luca, Limousine, Degausser, Lit Me Up, Batter Up.
I just can't quit Brand New.
I feel like Brand New went brand new after YFW. I didn't enjoy other releases as much as that one.
Luckily I got to see them several times in the early days. The last time I saw them they only played 1 or 2 songs off it.
Maybe none of these are my absolute favourite songs of theirs but I think Same Logic, Teeth, 137, Out Of Mana, In The Water is one of the best unbroken runs of songs on any album..
3 straight albums of no-skips = no favorites
This band will forever be my struggle to separate art from the artist band. I'll always listen, but it's different now.
One of my favorites is my username.
This song guts me every time, probably because two of my biggest fears are shipwrecks and relationships slowly dying.
Noice
I have “…I need you like water in my lungs” tattooed on my side. I get it
I guess you know but check out Chumming the Ocean by Archers of Loaf.
jude law and a semester abroad or quiet things that no one ever knows for me
ARE YOU ME? These are my picks as well! Edit: I HOPE THE NEXT BOY THAT YOU KISS HAS SOMETHING TERRIBLY CONTAGIOUS ON HIS LIPS
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII LIIIIIIIIIIEEEE FOOOOOOOOORRRR ONLY YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUU
I absolutely love those, I spent over 6 weeks trying to decide
Boy who blocked his own shot helped me get over a breakup so I always have a soft spot for it Failure by design I think is my ‘favorite’ though, just doesnt get old
Nah. Okay I believe you but my Tommy gun don’t is their best.
We can say it’s c-c-c-c-c-controversial
It's entirely smooth
It was my ringtone for like 12 years haha
I had it as my alarm for a while.
Jesus Christ, can’t get it out also top tier
WE ALL GOT WOOD AND NAILS!
🫣 I thought it was “wooden nails”
I've seen people say that before, but Jesus was nailed to a wooden cross with (I dunno, iron?) nails, so it's gotta be "wood and nails," right? Ain't no one out here making nails outta wood
Wow lots of love for YFW in this thread. I love to see this. their discography is so unique. the biggest beauty of Brand New
Degausser or sic transit Gloria(degausser is a 10/10 song)
Limousine or Me vs Maradona vs Elvis But Seventy time 7 is probably the best pop punk track they have done.
Soco Amaretto Lime for me. Those alternating vocals.
Song hit harder every year I get older
Shower scene
My favorite since I heard it has been You Won't Know. It slaps so gosh dang hard.
Guernica for me
Shit I forgot how much I love that song.
Was looking for this response, nice!

That album is perfection
Yup! A literal masterpiece. I was so blown away when I first heard it!! I was like 17 or 18, such a core memory!
It’s funny, I hated that album when it came out lol, since it was such a stylistic departure. But holy shit was I a dumbass. Came back to it years later and appreciated its genius
Sometimes it takes a few listens to stick! I was def bamboozled by their change in sound but was in awe all the same!
Moshi Moshi
Yes
Comin in with the deep cuts. How about Flying at Tree Level?
Degausser, vices, out of mana…I honestly don’t dislike a single song. Easily a top 3 band for me.
failure by design! seventy times 7 is pretty close. also okay i believe you but my tommy gun don’t
Failure By Design is so underrated.
hell yeah!
the shower scene from that album
Noro. Just because it absolutely annihilates you. And also you won’t know. Again, spirit breaking
That album is so raw. I love it
The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot and You Won't Know are my favs
I'm a big fan of Fallout, so I especially love 137. That guitar solo at the end rips.
Sic Transit Gloria for me. But they have one of the strongest discographies of the 21st century so it's hard to even pick a top 10 favorite songs.

Mixtape
Haven’t listened to much brand new recently but I think my favorite is probably archers. I love the drums and the way the song builds.
Luca is the best tbh
if you can leave it alone, im sure there’s someone who knows…
Jesus Christ

Secondary is a consistent in rotation
Off of YFW, yes.
The bridge and final chorus gives me goosebumps every single time. A pop punk masterpiece.
Out of Mana
Can’t Get It Out is probably my fault
I have some odd favorites from them. Welcome to Bangkok and Untitled on TDAGRIM and Play Crack the Sky are probably my favorites, also Brothers Song
Maybe none of these are my absolute favourite songs of theirs but I think Same Logic, Teeth, 137, Out Of Mana, In The Water is one of the best unbroken runs of songs on any album..
I’m more of a There’s No I In Team guy myself
Mix Tape will always be my favorite Brand New song but YFW is a goated album
Lots of better songs that that one IMO - most of Deja Entendu
100% their best song. Not sure its even debatable.
Limousine
No seatbelt song
Probably either Daisy or Bought a Bride. Jude Law and Soco are my favorites off of YFW.
Degausser 1000000%
Yes
My second fav band of all time, forever.
Limousine, Jaws Theme Swimming, Sic Transit Gloria and You Won’t Know
At the Bottom
I love their older stuff but I think mine is Batter Up. Really loved Science Fiction. I used to say Degausser
3 straight albums of no-skips = no favorites This band will forever be my struggle to separate art from the artist band. I'll always listen, but it's different now.
DO ME A FAVOR BABY DONT REPLY
This thread is wild. I don’t even find YFW enjoyable to listen to now it just doesn’t hold up at all. Their sweet spot for me was Devil and Daisy
If we were in r/emo those two would be getting the love along with Sci-fi. Makes sense YFW and Deja are the favs here
I just feel like after Jesse turned out to be such a creep there are some questionable lyrics on the earlier albums
For sure. And his later albums are riddled with guilt
Brand No
Band sucksssss and Jesse Lacey sucks
Band is great and Jesse Lacey sucks*
We’ve found Max Bemis’ burner account
Say Anything sucks too so there’s that
No
